Save cookie/session after login on web service client

I am calling a web service that has a login method. It sets a session id in
a cookie. Every subsequent call fails and says I'm not logged in. How do I
save their cookie or session ID such that the server thinks I'm logged in?
Here's the client code (I used clientgen to create jar from wsdl);
DatashareManager dsm = new DatashareManager_Impl();
WebServiceContext wsContext = dsm.context();
WebServiceSession session = (WebServiceSession)wsContext.getSession();
DatashareManagerSoap dsmsoap = dsm.getDatashareManagerSoap();
String result = dsmsoap.login("username", "password"); // this works
EResult result2 = dsmsoap.deleteReusableList(1, "bob"); // this fails 'Not
logged in'

That sounds like a difficult one to implement because you'll essentially need to intercept the AppsLogin servlet (or AppsLocalLogin.jsp) to conditionally redirect the user somewhere else - and that would be an intrusive (and not recommended) customization.
Some possible alternatives:
1. Rather than publish http://hrlive.myintranet.local:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin as the URL that you users connect to, publish something like http://hrlive.myintranet.local:8000/OA_HTML/XxLogin.jsp instead. That could be a custom JSP that asks the user to agree to the disclaimer and, when they agree, store that agreement in a cookie and then redirect to AppsLogin.
That's not quite the same because you're asking the user to agree before they login. It also means that they can navigate direct to AppsLogin and bypass the disclaimer (unless you customize AppsLogin to verify the cookie).
2. Assign all users a default 'Disclaimer' responsibility with a single function (such as an EIT, or a custom OA Framework page) that allows the user to agree to agree to the disclaimer. Then once they've agreed to it have some process that automatically grants them their real responsibilities and revokes the Disclaimer responsibility. For example, if you used an EIT that could be an API User Hook.
One problem with this approach is that you'll need to clear cache through Functional Administrator before the new responsibilities are visible so you'll either need to find a way of doing that programatically or ask the user to wait until tomorrow (assuming you do a nightly web server bounce).

  • Change jsp's in web service client when creating a web service in WID

    Hi, Actually , when we a web service, on websphere Integration Developer,JSP's get generated after creating the web service client.
    Those JSP's are named as input.html, invoke.jsp etc, I need to change the jsp's for good look and feel,
    But I am unalble to do that as there is no configuration information included in the jsps created by default, Please let me know, if any has come across this kind of situation and knows how to deal with.

    Hi,
    Not sure if you can get answer to WID specific questions on the Oracle-WebServices forum. Here, we are mainly talking about SOAP and WSDL, and mostly with the Oracle OC4J implementation.
    When you generate a static proxy, you can set the endpoint URL dynamically using a helper method on the class generated by JDeveloper - look for setEndpoint()
    import javax.xml.rpc.ServiceFactory;
    import javax.xml.rpc.Stub;
        public void setEndpoint(String endpoint) {
            ((Stub) _port)._setProperty(Stub.ENDPOINT_ADDRESS_PROPERTY, endpoint);
        }The generated code uses the JAX-RPC APIs under the cover, which may also apply to Websphere's internal implementation.
    Hope it Helps,
    -Eric

  • Web Service-Client for stateful session EJB container

    Do you know, how to write a Web Service-Client to connect a stateful session EJB container?
    A stateful session EJB container ist created with Web Logic 8.1.

    Pedja thanks for reply.
    I still dont understand what is wrong with my example.
    The first peace of the code i wrote (getting the reference to the remote interface object) works pretty well, and even more it is produced automatically by JDeveloper, so why we cant get a reference to the local interface object the same way?
    Certanly we should use the local interface for getting access to the resource functioning under the same local jvm and i think it doesnt metter wich app server we really use wls or oas or others
    Thanks. Alex.

  • Expecting response in XML format after invoking bea web service

    What should I do in order to receive the response from the web service in XML document
    (i.e. a well-formed XML document) after invoking the web service via my client
    application
    (a servlet in my case)? I would like to validate the XML document against a schema
    in my
    servlet. I deployed my web service sucessfully and followed the WSDL web page
    recommendation about creating a client. That is I used the generated stub (client
    jar file
    generated using clientgen) in my servlet. The result I received was a java object
    and not in
    XML document form.

    If you do clientgen on a WSDL, it will generate
    java types by default. You can trun this off by
    setting autotype="false" in the clientgen ant task.
    I have not tried it out, but i think this will use
    javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement instead of
    generated java types. Then you can create a
    DOM object from soap element.
    Another option is to use DII with generic
    typemapping. An example here:

    Hi Scott,
    I am facing the same problem. I have created one application process with process condition On New Session: After Authentication. In this application process i am checking for :app_user in particular table, if the person does not exist i am inserting a record in to the table. But every time :app_user is having null value with On New Session: After Authentication process condition. It is working fine for remaining process conditions.

  • All Field Bindings are lost after executing a Web Service.

    Hi All,
    I noticed that after a Web Service (Data Connection) is executed inside the PDF (XFA), all bindings are lost.
    For example, if there is a Drop-Down List Field whose Items (list) are bound to XML Data Source (Data Connection), this binding is lost after the Web Service is executed.
    However, the XML Data Connection is still there, as I could verify this, but I don't know how to rebind the data to the Drop-Down List after executing the web service.
    Appreciate your help.
    Tarek.

    Check this blog post:
    http://www.drflex.eu/2008/06/dynamically-populate-dropdown-lists-using-webservices/
    This comfirms that after you execute a web service, the Drop-Down List fields will become empty due to remerge operation. Well, I have to issue a remerge, otherwise, the PDF will not be populated properly.

  • Web Service Client Generation on 7.10 SP3 - No WSDL URL is specified....

    We have a mysterious problem here.
    In out ABAP system we had a WebService created. With "New - Web Service Client" we created a web service client on the java side for that one and we were able to invoke it.
    We had to recreate this Web service due to wrong naming conventions. And now the problem starts.
    In the Main service class we had before something generated by NWDS:
    private static java.net.URL SERVICES_SERVICE_WSDL_LOCATION = null;
    static {
        java.net.URL url = null;
        try {
              java.net.URL tmpUrl = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResource("wsdl/com/sap/document/sap/soap/functions/mc_style/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_001279D063121DECA58AC5F7200DC55D/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document/rootwsdl_SERVICES.wsdl");
              url = new java.net.URL(tmpUrl.getProtocol(), tmpUrl.getHost(), tmpUrl.getPort(), tmpUrl.getFile());
        } catch (java.net.MalformedURLException e) {
          e.printStackTrace();
        SERVICES_SERVICE_WSDL_LOCATION = url;
    After the new creation with the new Web Service this static initializer is gone an we see:
    private final static java.net.URL SERVICE_WSDL_LOCATION = null;
    This code is ridiculous, to make something static final and set it to Null. And as expected at runtime it results in WebServioceException telling us:
    No WSDL URL is specified for service [class com.sap.document.sap.soap.functions.mc_style.Service] on service creation.
    Anyone knows what is going wrong here??
    Best regards,
    Frank

    Same problem here.
    From Netweaver dev studio, I'm generating a deployable proxy for a Session Bean that is supposed to access a webservice but I keep getting the exception:
    "Caused by: javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: No WSDL URL is specified for service [class eu.socrades.sap.ServiceMonitorBeanTESTService] on service creation.

    at javax.xml.ws.Service.<init>(Service.java:57)
    at eu.socrades.sap.ServiceMonitorBeanTESTService.<init>(ServiceMonitorBeanTESTService.java:14)"
    I'm injecting the reference to the service with:
    @WebServiceRef(wsdlLocation = "rootwsdl_ServiceMonitorBeanTESTService.wsdl")
    private ServiceMonitorBeanTESTService service;
    I tried changing the location to a URL (where the wsdl can be downloaded from) or to "META-INF/wsdl/eu/socrades/sap/rootwsdl_ServiceMonitorBeanTESTService/rootwsdl_ServiceMonitorBeanTESTService.wsdl" but that did not help.
    Any clue?
    Thanks a lot,

  • Web Services Client Library - Options

    From what I understand there are multiple options to invoke web services (using a client library). From a performance perspective, has anyone done any tests or have recommendations on which client library is better?
    For instance,
    - Web Services Client Library with Apache Axis 1.2.1
    - JAXRPC based Client Library bundled with BEA Weblogic Server (using 8.1SP3 here)
    - JAXRPC Client Library with Sun JWSDP (Java Web Services Developer Pack)
    - XMLBeans?
    - others...
    We are using Doc/Literal (un-wrapped style) Web Services.
    Thanks

    If this is a DI Real Time Job, you need to Enable Session Security to call the Login/Logout Method. Session Security is enabled on the DI Web Admin Console.

  • How to prevent downloading wsdl in weblogic web service client

    Hi,
    I get a problem regarding weblogic web service client. My working environment:
    weblogic server 8.1
    Windows XP SP2
    JDK 1.4
    I use the weblogic tool to generate the client jar file from the wsdl file.
         <target name="generate-client">
              <clientgen wsdl="ACCESS.wsdl"
                   packageName="xxxxxx.client"
                   clientJar="${client}/${AccessClient_jar_file}"
                   keepGenerated="true"
                   saveWSDL="true"
              />
              <javac srcdir="${source}"
              destdir="${client}"
              includes="**/AccessClient.java">
              <classpath>
              <pathelement path="${client}/${AccessClient_jar_file}"/>
              </classpath>
              </javac>
         </target>
    After that, I create a client java file to invoke the service deploy in the server.
    public static void main(String[] argv)
    throws Exception
         int transactionId = 100;
         int id = 1000;
    // Setup the global JAXM message factory
    System.setProperty("javax.xml.soap.MessageFactory", "weblogic.webservice.core.soap.MessageFactoryImpl");
    // Setup the global JAX-RPC service factory
    System.setProperty( "javax.xml.rpc.ServiceFactory", "weblogic.webservice.core.rpc.ServiceFactoryImpl");
    AccessServicePorts ws = new AccessServicePorts_Impl(argv[0]);
    AccessService port = ws.getAccessService();
    // Resource - create
    Resource resource = new Resource();
    resource.setRES_CD("Create ResCo");
    resource.setCODE_CODE("code_cod");
    resource.setRES_TYPE("Resource typ");
    resource.setCOMMON_FIELD(common);
    AccessDefaultResult resultItems = port.createResource(resource);
    System.out.println("createResource : " + resultItems);
    I find that this web service client always issue 2 http requests to invoke an web service method deployed in server.
    1st http reqeust:
    GET /AccessEpol/EpolServiceSoap?WSDL HTTP/1.1
    User-Agent: Java/1.4.2_08
    Host: 127.0.0.1:8001
    Accept: text/html, image/gif, image/jpeg, *; q=.2, */*; q=.2
    Connection: keep-alive
    the return result is the wsdl downloaded from the server.
    2nd http request is the real web service request.
    The question is how could I eliminate the 1st http request because it's really unnecessary. I use other web service client like Axis 1.x, Axis client never has the http request to download the wsdl from the server.
    I read through weblogic web service document. It do mentions that put saveWSDL="true" in the clientgen ant task. the default value for saveWSDL is true already. I did try saveWSDL="false" also. None of them can eliminate the 1st http request.
    appreciate for any answer my question?

    Hi David,
    thanks for the reply.
    More or less I agree some points you mentioned above.
    I did use Axis 1.x to test the inter-operability. The web service was developed in Weblogic 8.1 and is a part of an existing web application. It will be merged to existing application deployed in weblogic 8.1.
    I also program the web service client to test the web service.
    The implementation of the server and client will be handed over the project team and training for supporting or continuous development have to be conducted by me. So I don't like to use two types of technologies which will make thing complex.
    I found this issue when I tried to protected the web service endpoint, eg http://localhost:7001/epol/service, using the web application Basic mechanism. The wsdl URL http://localhost:7001/epol/service?WSDL is also protected in this case. Unfortunately the username/password pair is not sent to the server when the weblogic client download the WSDL from the server. In this case, the client failed and throw exception.

  • Problems - WLS 10.0 web service client

    I'm having a few issues with WLS 10.0 web service client.
              I generated a service control from the WSDL. The service is provided by a 3rd party (non-WLS) at another company. I generated the control within my web project and it's deployed as part of the web application. I experience the following problems with the service control API:
              1) The methods setKeyStore(), setTrustStore(), setClientCert() all seem to be ignored - the server always uses the values set in the server's environment definition. Note - the setEndpointAddress() seems to work.
              2) The client request does not set the 'Content-Type' HTTP header correctly (it's set to text/html) - I have no way to override this via the service control API (that I can see).
              3) I don't see any way/place to turn on more detailed tracing of what's going on internally with the service control invocation - is there a way to enable a detailed trace log of what is happening within the service control?
              Note: I'm able to call the web service via the test client (after importing the 3rd party server cert into my local cacerts).
              Thanks,
              [email protected]

    Thank you for the reply..
    But im still geting the same error. I have tried to include all the libraries in JWSDP pack but still.. I have managed to narrow down the place where the error occures.. It actually happens when I try to get the WebService Client Servant which is located in the package LSC:
    ---> LSC.LWServiceGenClient.LWS_Impl service = new LSC.LWServiceGenClient.LWS_Impl();
    LSC.LWServiceGenClient.LWSServantInterface lagerServiceServant = LSC.LWServiceGenClient.LWSServantInterface_Stub)service.getLWSServantInterfacePort();
    return lagerServiceServant;
    Could something be wrong with the way I package the Jar? I'm using Sun One Studio and have tried including the 5 packages the application consists of; I have tried including just the files; moving the main class to <root>.. Still same problem..
    Or could there be some different fundemental thingy I have forgotten ??
    thanks

    My application is a batch processing web service client, reads some input rows, sends web service requets, processes the responses and logs it.

    This is not an error that server is not closing connections properly as I was able to test with SOAPUI and LoadRunner with even higher threads and it ran without problems. SOAPUI and LoadRunner scripts were executed from the same client machine as my application uses. Please help.

    Move server socket creation out of while loop. You don't need to create new server socket every time.

  • Web service client timeout

    Hi,
    I'm trying to set a timeout on my web service client. But its not working. Your tutorials do not seem to address this.
    I am using weblogic 10.3.2, with Java 1.6.
    ============
    Properties propSys = System.getProperties();
    propSys.put( "weblogic.webservice.UseWebLogicURLStreamHandler", "true" );
    Stub stub = (Stub)portObject;
    BindingInfo bindingInfo = (weblogic.webservice.binding.BindingInfo)stub._getProperty("weblogic.webservice.bindinginfo");
    bindingInfo.setTimeout(1);
    Iterator itr = stub._getPropertyNames();
    while (itr.hasNext()){
    Object element = itr.next();
    log("\n properties that can be set: "+element);
    stub._setProperty("weblogic.webservice.rpc.timeoutsecs","1");
    ===========
    I've also tried setting the transaction-timeout and the remove-client-timeout in the weblogic-ear-jar.xml.
    ===========
    <weblogic-ejb-jar>
    <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    <ejb-name>ExternalEntryEJB</ejb-name>
    <transaction-descriptor>
    <trans-timeout-seconds>1</trans-timeout-seconds>
    </transaction-descriptor>
    <enable-call-by-reference>True</enable-call-by-reference>

    </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    <weblogic-enterprise-bean>

    <trans-timeout-seconds>1</trans-timeout-seconds>
    </transaction-descriptor>
    </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    </weblogic-ejb-jar>
    ===========
    in case it matters, I am using weblogic.ant.taskdefs.webservices.clientgen.ClientGenTask as the clientgen task in my build.xml
    ============
    <clientgen autotype="False" ear="${dist}/${app.earname}" warName="${servlet.warname}" packageName="MyPackage.webservices.client"
    keepgenerated="False" useServerTypes="True" clientJar="${dist}/MyAppClient.jar">
    <classpath refid="build.classpath.builddir"/>
    </clientgen>
    ============
    I am testing by putting a Thread.sleep(75000) in the method which is called in the internal EJB. But the method runs to completion and returns the reply object after 90 seconds or so (it normally takes about 12 seconds), but does not timeout.
    I've been told that because it is a web services client, the remote-client-timeout will be ineffective. I've also been told that because the EJBs run in the same JVM, the transaction-timeout will be ineffective. Is this so?
    Thanks,
    Walter

    Can you change the clientgen task to weblogic.wsee.tools.anttasks.ClientGenTask this is for jax-rpc 1.1.
    <taskdef name="clientgen"
    classname="weblogic.wsee.tools.anttasks.ClientGenTask" />
    ((Stub)port)._setProperty(weblogic.wsee.transport.connection.timeout,2);
    ((Stub)port)._setProperty(weblogic.wsee.transport.read.timeoutt,2);
    Hope that helps.

  • Web service Client developing!

    Hi,
    I've developed a web service client with JDeveloper 9i.
    I did it using the WSDL file location and the stub/skeleton generator wizard.
    Once made it, I wrote a client class with a method as follows:
    // code beggining
    public static Integer calculator (Integer a,Integer b) throws Exception {
    Integer result= null;
    if (a==null || b==null){
    a= new Integer(0);
    b= new Integer(0);
    try {
    CalculadoraWSStub calc= new CalculadoraWSStub();
    result= calc.calculator(a,b);
    catch (Exception ex)
    throw new Exception ("\nMy Exception: " + ex.toString());
    return result;
    // code ending
    Ok, now the main point of the problem.
    If we execute this code under JDeveloper, everything goes well, BUT if we execute it as a function under Oracle database appears a Exception telling us something about a internal error because HttpClient/RetryModule constructor is private!
    Can you help us?
    -- we can't solve this problem because it only appears when we are trying to connect to a web service.
    Thanks in advance, people!

    Yes, this is correct. ANM 4.1 does not allow more that 5 logins per account and unfortunately this is not configurable. I suggest the you mention this to your local Cisco Account Team.

    I've been looking around for a couple of days. I understand how to run clientgen from the command line. That works fine.
    I have looked at the tutorial for using 'Web service controls' also. As far as I can tell, though, in Workshop 10.1 I can only generate such a control nside another Web service, as in the tutorial. In other types of classes, the Insert option is not available on the menu I pull up by right-clicking in the source. I hope I am missing something obvious.
    My goal is to call Web services from other applications inside Workshop. The other applications may be Web applications or they may not. Most of the time they will not be other Web services.
    Thanks in advance for any help !!

    Thanks Vimala.
    I am able to create the JAR using clientgen, and I can call the Web service after that from the command line. All of that depends upon various environment variables being set with setDomainEnv.cmd and it works fine.
    I would like to create a Java project in Workshop 10.1 and use that JAR created with clientgen, but that does not work - I get an Exception wqhen I try to run, although it all compiles :
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/descriptor/BasicDescriptorManager
         at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)

         at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(Unknown Source)
         at com.kohls.example.client.SimpleClient.main(SimpleClient.java:29)
    The classes are al lthere, or it would not compile, so I assume I am missing some of the scaffolding around calling the Web service. I just created a normal Java project - maybe that's wrong ?

    I use netbeans 6.5. In my project I choose java ee 5 as in 1.4 there is no web service client option
    Any ideas?
    I found some rpc tutorils for netbeans 4.0 but I wonder why it couldn't be done in netbean 6.5
