Save Image instead of opening link

I have created email signature with several links from images used in signature. It works well on all PCs, iPad and works on iPhone if I will use attachments in email. But if it is simple email with this signature than on iPhone clicking on image results in Save Image prompt instead of opening link. The temporary solution I am using is to use dummy attachment. Can I have it working without attachment ?

Hi ,
It looks like your report column is set to display as Text. Go to "Home>Application Builder>Application #>Page #>Interactive Report Attributes" and change it to Standard report Column and you should be all set.
Thanks,

I am using an interactive report and entered this for the source. I want to show the picture instead of a download link however I don't get the picture I get a

  • Firefox asks what to do with an image instead of opening it

I'm not sure if there's a certain type of places or situations that trigger this but I get this from time to time while I simply shouldn't. One example from today:
While opening http://files.turbosquid.com/Preview/Content_2009_08_25__03_49_44/lav25_09.jpgd538774d-80dd-4e54-9378-73a399b5ef85Larger.jpg the 'Opening' dialogue pops up asking me what to do with the target, 'Open with' marked as default.
    How I got there:
    google image search for "lav-25"
    http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-lav-25-piranha-usmc-nato-nato/410876
    http://files.turbosquid.com/Preview/Content_2009_08_25__03_49_44/lav25_09.jpgd538774d-80dd-4e54-9378-73a399b5ef85Larger.jpg

I get the same effect with that image. The server is probably sending the '''content-disposition: attachment''' header. That header being sent causes Firefox to even ignore the ''Always do this automatically...'' user preference.
As a workaround, you can install the InlineDisposition extension.

  • Firefox always saves PDFs instead of opening them in the browser. How can I change this?

    Using Firefox 10.0.1

    Hi michaelphelan,
Have you gone to ''Tools > Options > Applications'' to see if you have told Firefox to do that as default?
You'll also need to have a PDF add-on for it to work. I'd suggest you look at:
    * [[Options window - Applications panel]]
    * [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]]
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Firefox tries to save PDF files instead of opening

When I click on PDF links Firefox tries to save them instead of opening them. This is so even though in "Options" under "Applications" I have all Adobe files set to "Use Adobe Reader".

You get the "Open/Save/Cancel" dialog, same as if you selected "Always Ask"?
When Firefox no longer responds to changes in the Application preferences, you sometimes need to reset those preferences, which involves deleting a settings file. This article has the steps for that under the heading "Reset download actions for all file types":
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-download-or-save-files#w_reset-download-actions-for-all-file-types

  • How to "Save Image" directly instead of "Save Image As"?

Is there anyway or option to directly save images instead of having to click "save image as" then go into the popup to save the image location? Thank you!

    Gingerbread Man made good suggestions.
However you still must "save as" something even if "unnamed001". Windows requires a name and location for each file (whether an image or other file) saved. You can have the same file name in different directories (folders).
You can copy and paste images without saving, in some applications.

  • PDF Downloads are all defaulting to a Firefox image & will not open

When I save (download) PDF files, they display a Firefox image in my Downloads folder. When I click on the image instead of opening the file, Firefox opens a new tab. How do I change the download default to Adobe instead of Firefox? It used to work; perhaps the new version of Firefox is the source of my problem. I realize I can pick Adobe , but I want it to download correctly from the beginning.

Try to rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

  • Make ie7 save pdf link instead of open (acrobat8)

hi, when you click a pdf link in ie7 there seems to be only 2 options: either open the pdf in browser window or open pdf in acrobat.
how can you make the ie7 ask to save the pdf file instead of automatically opening it?

That would be a feature of the browser or the HTML code used. I am not sure how to set that, or if it can be set. Acrobat will open if requested, but you are asking the browser to save rather than to open. Thus for what you want Acrobat or the plugin would not even be called.
If you are looking for it in your own browser, the look for browser options. If you are trying to do it with HTML for other users, then you need to consult an HTML manual. You might be able to set a button to save with some JAVAscript. Keep in mind that if that is what you are looking for, most folks like to be asked before you start saving to their machine.

  • After installing Fireworks CS3, IE shows the download dialog instead of opening PNG images

After installing Fireworks CS3, when clicking a link to a PNG
image, IE displays a download dialog instead of opening the image.
I am not sure why Fireworks becomes the default file handlers of
PNG and GIF without asking or notifying the user during
installation, but I think this is the cause.
Does anybody know how to fix the problem?
    Thanks,
    Franklin Tse

Fireworks uses a form of .png as its native file format
(which many people find unfortuante) The Fireworks format includes
some additional information, allowed by the specification, so you
want to make sure that, if you want a .png for the Web, you
export from you Fireworks image, not just
    save.
In any case you can re-associate the file types. Exactly how
you re-associate file types depends on your OS.
In Vista, right click on a .gif and select 'Properties.'
Under 'Type of file', click on the 'Change'
button and change the associate application. Make sure the
checkbox next to 'Always use the selected program to open this kind
    of file' is checked.

  • Unable to save images linked to from InDesign CS4

A very annoying issue.  If images are linked to from InDesign, and a user on the network has opened that InDesign file, changes to the image cannot be saved.  On a mac we get a warning that the file is 'in use'.  The PCs give no warning, and apprently save the changes made in Photoshop or Illustrator.  However, the changes are not saved.  It make no difference whether the InDesign file is still open or has been closed.  The only way to get round this problem that we have found is to either save as a new image name and re-link to that, or to close down InDesign on the offending workstation and then re-open after the image has been saved.
This might be a similar issue to that described in this discussion:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2015431
I've opened a new discussion, as the one in the link above is shown as partially answered, but I cannot see an answer which helps us.
    Anyone got a solution?

I'm not sure if it sounds the same or not, but it sure doesn't sound "normal," but I don't work much with network-stored images and other users who might have linked to them. As far as I know there is nothing in link in ID that would cause it to appear to be open, but as I see inthe other thread I once had the problem myself, so who knows.
Are you patched to 6.0.6? I don't see anything in the release notes specifically related to the can't save problem, but there were a number of image and link related fixes.

  • In mail I am unable to open links that surround images

On my iPhone 4S - In mail I am unable to open links that surround images - like html email with <a><img></a> (text links are fine).
When I click the image I get the URL at the top and options to Save Image or Copy only. No Open option to follow the URL.
    Any ideas?
