SAXParserFactory factory = SAXParserFactory.newInstance();
factory.setValidating(true);
SAXParser saxParser = factory.newSAXParser();
saxParser.parse("toto.xml", handler );
The error is in your XML input, not in your Java code. Probably the XML doesn't declare its encoding, so the parser assumes that it is encoded in UTF-8. And probably it contains some character (like an accented letter, for example) that is not part of the UTF-8 encoding. So contact the person who created the XML -- which is not well-formed XML, by the way -- and get them to fix it. It's possible that declaring the encoding as ISO8859-1 might work, but it might not. All depends on what the invalid character is.

Thanks in advance
AjayThe VERY FIRST message in the server log gives you a hint as to what the problem might be. The server thinks you have spaces in your PATH to the application server. Therefore, the solution is to kill the server however you need to (task manager, whatever) and then reinstall it in a path that doesn't contain spaces. That's the low-hanging fruit here; if that doesn't work, well, then we will have to find some other solution.

Problem with the NodeManager in Weblogic 10.0 MP1
Hi,
I have a problem starting the Nodemanager successfully. I have currently installed BEA Weblogic 10.0 MP1. The admin server is getting started successfully. When, I start the Nodemanager with the command:
startnodemanager -machine <hostname>, it neither gives the success message nor the error message. It comes to a stand still. Please see the below text, which appears on the Command prompt, when I run the nodemanager command.

After this, when I check the nodemanager status in Console, then the status appears as REACHABLE. Assuming, this to be the successfully message, I try to start the managed servers associated with the Machine/Server. But, it fails and there appears a message on the console with the status as 'Force Shutting Down' for this server.
When I check the logs, there seems to be some problem with the Nulll exception. Please see the below logs as it appears, its only a part of the logs

Problems with reading XML files with ISO-8859-1 encoding
Hi!
I try to read a RSS file. The script below works with XML files with UTF-8 encoding but not ISO-8859-1. How to fix so it work with booth?

Many years ago I had a problem with an XML file with invalid characters. I wrote a simple filter (using FilterInputStream) that made sure that all the byes it processed were ASCII. My problem turned out to be characters with value zero which the Microsoft XML parser failed to process. It put the parser in an infinite loop!
In the filter, as each byte is read you could write out the Hex value. That way you should be able to find the offending character(s). -
WLS 7.0 sp2 - Servlet Problems with SOAP messages
I'm using Weblogic 7.0 SP2 and trying to create a Servlet to receive SOAP wrapped
XML messages. I'm getting the following error. Is this a problem with WLS7.0sp2's
support of JAXM? The System.out.println's indicate I have successfully received
the incoming SOAP request and then successfully formatted the SOAP response, but
upon returning saving the response it appears to blow up. Does anyone have any
suggestions?
I need to do the following in a servlet:
- receive an incoming SOAP request with an embedded XML message
- perform some processing
- return a SOAP response with an embedded XML message
Should I be using JAXM? Or can I do this same task easily with JAX-RPC?

Michael,
I got the same error on WLS8.1/Win2K professional and apache FOP (old version).
After digging into the WLS code and FOP(old version). i found the conflict happens
on
the "org.xml.sax.parser" system property. In WLS code, they hard coded like the
following when startup weblogic server:
System.setProperty("org.xml.sax.parser", "weblogic.xml.jaxp.RegistryParser");
But the FOP code try to use the "org.xml.sax.parser" system property to find the
sax parser then conlict happens.
Here is the response from BEA support :
"I consulted with our developers regarding the question of whether we can change
the hard-coded value for the java system property: org.xml.sax.parser by using
a configuration parameter and I found that unfortunately there is no specific
setting to change the value. As you had mentioned in your note the org.xml.sax.parser
system property can be changed programmatically in your application code."
I solve my problem by using newer apache FOP (it never use the system property:org.xml.sax.parser
any more) and XML Registy for WLS8.1.
Good luck.

Help.
When we migrated from WLS 6.1 to WLS 7.0 SP2 when encountered a problem
with XML
parsing that did not previously exist.
We get the error "weblogic.xml.jaxp.RegistryParser is not a SAX driver".
What does this mean? And, what should we do about it.

EntityResolver problem with InputStream other than FileInputStream
Hi everybody,
I have problems with resolving entities. I tried parsing xml-data with JAXP / Xerces 2.6 Sax and needed an EntityResolver for including xml-data, stored in an external-file:
<!ENTITY test SYSTEM "test.xml">
<a>
&test;
</a>It was working, as long as I put the xml above in a file and used a fileInputStream for creating the inputSource-object. Of course I set a SystemId with the path to test.xml. When I used a fileInputStream, the EntityResolver was called (I implemented it just for tracing reasons) and my data was processed correctly. As soon as I put the xml above e.g. in a ByteArrayInputStream, and used this for creating a InputSource-object, the my EntityResolver wasn't called and it didn't work. So why is this problem with EntityResolver and other Streams but FileInputStream?? Is it a bug? Did I miss something??
Thanks for any help!!!I appologize for my mistake with my first post.
While I was copying the code for this forum today, I recognized a typing error in my xml-string:
String xmlString = "<?xml version=\"1.0\"?> <!DOCTYPE staticinc [ <!ENTITY test SYSTEM \"test.xml\">]><a>%test;</a>";I used a percent-sign instead of amp for the test-entity, and as stupid this is - this was of course the reason for my entity resolver not being called. I get a warning by xml-editors if I have this error in a file, but not during parse of a string.
Somehow I got on the wrong track, because of the description I found in the other thread about entityResolver problems for "none-file-sources" and it seemed to fit.
Again, sorry !! Thanks for your offer to help!! -
How to stop the sax parser with parsing
hi,
I'm parsing some large xml-files with jaxp sax.
To do it I use a contenthandler that goes through the file.
Wat I want now is that when I have found the nodes that I need that parsing of the xml stops.
I tried to do it with detecting a certain endElement and putting there a return, but it will not work, parsing continues till the end of the file (see code underneath).
Does anyone can say what I'm doing wrong,
thanks, Hans
code:
public void endElement(String namespaceURI,
String sName,
String qName
) throws SAXException {
if (qName.equals("file")) {
return;
} // end of if ()
}You have to return from that method anyway, so a return statement is not going to tell the parser to stop. You could throw a SAXException, but be prepared to catch that in the code that called the parser, and be prepared to treat it differently from SAXExceptions that indicate problems.

Problem with XML SQL JDBC adapter
Hello All.
I have quite strange problem with my PI.
Whole scenario is SOAP -> JDBC, asynchronous. Everything works fine on DEV server. After transporting objects (using CTS) to QA env I'm getting this error:
JDBC Message processing failed, due to Error processing request in sax parser:
No 'action' attribute found in XML document
(attribute "action" missing or wrong XML structure)
But document seems to be correct. I've compared it to DEV server documents - they are identical. What could be wrong??
Document looks like this:

MaciejHi,
i was also facing the same error few days back in a JDBC -RFC-JDBC Synchronous scenario. In that scenario, i was using 2 modules in JDBC sender module tab. It was working fine. later i change polling interval and then i started getting same error. it happened coz of sequence of Module got changed somehow.
So please check in Receiver JDBC adapter and SOAP sender adapter CC if anything is changed. If this scenario is working in DEV as it is then it should work after transport.
Else have a look here
Re: attribute "action" missing or wrong XML structure
JDBC - No 'action' attribute found in XML document - error

Problem with x:transform function : translation with XSLT
I've got a problem with this code :
This is the XML file :
<%@taglib prefix="x" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/xml"%>
<%@taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core"%>
<c:import var="xslDoc" url="test.xsl"/>
<x:transform xslt ="${xslDoc}">

<last>Smith</last>
<middle>T</middle>
</name>
<grade>
<points>72</points>
<letter>C</letter>
</grade>
</student>
</students>
</x:transform>This is the XSLT :
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
<xsl:template match="students">

<td><xsl:value-of select="grade/points"/></td>
<td><xsl:value-of select="grade/letter"/></td>
</tr>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>I use NetBeans 3.5.1 for compiling and testing, and on my machine all works fine.
But when i upload the code on the server i''ve this type of error :

Any suggestion ?
Thx for reading, and sorry for my rusty english :-PThanks.
I've already tried to insert the whole path. You mean this,right ?
<c:import var="xslDoc" url="http://www.domain.net/examples/test.xsl"/>I've searched a lot with google but i haven't find anything.
I've not searched a lot into the jakarta site, I'll do tomorrow, now it's
a bit late (1:45 AM in Italy :-0 ), so i think that i'll go to sleep.
Thanks for responding so soon!
I'll wait for your new infos.
Thanks again.

Problems with Java DOM Mapping
Hi Experts,
as part of my diploma-thesis I have to write a java DOM-Mapping, which mapps the following incoming message:
<mt_MappingOUT>
<set>
<set_Element_01>...</set_Element_01>
<set_Element_02>... </set_Element_02>
<set_Element_03>... </set_Element_02>
<set_Element_10> </set_Element_10>
</set>
</mt_MappingOUT>
to the following outgoinig message:
<mt_MappingIN>
<TABLE>
<item>
<item_FIELD_01> </item_FIELD_01>
<item_FIELD_10> <item_FIELD_10>
<i/tem>
</TABLE>
</mt_MappingIN>
I am not a very experienced Java-Developer. You can see my code down there, which I tried to implement according to some bloggs; unfortunately the result is not what I want to have

Problem with large data report
I tried to run a template I got from release 12 using data from the release we are using (11i). The xml file is about 13,500 kb. when i run it from my desktop.
I get the following error (mostly no output is generated sometimes its generated after a long time).
Font Dir: C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\fonts
Run XDO Start
RTFProcessor setLocale: en-us
FOProcessor setData: C:\Documents and Settings\skiran\Desktop\working\2648119.xml
FOProcessor setLocale: en-us
I assumed there may be compatibility issues between 12i and 11i hence tried to write my own template and ran into same issue
when i added the third nested loop.
I also noticed javaws.exe runs in the background hogging a lot of memory. I am using Bi version 5.6.3
I tried to run the template through template viewer. The process never completes.
The log file is

I cant seem to figure out whether this is a looping or large data or BI version issue. Please advice
Thank youThe report will probably fail in a production environment if you don't have enough heap. 13 megs is a big xml file for the parsers to handle, it will probably crush the opp. The whole document has to be loaded into memory and perserving the relationships in the documents is probably whats killing your performance. The opp or foprocessor is not using the sax parser like the bursting engine does. I would suggest setting a maximum range on the amount of documents that can be created and submit in a set of batches. That will reduce your xml file size and performance will increase.
An alternative to the pervious approach would be to write a concurrent program that merges the pdfs using the document merger api. This would allow you to burst the document into a temp directory and then re-assimilate them it one document. One disadvantage of this approach is that the pdf is going to be freakin huge. Also, if you have to send that piggy to the printer your gonna have some problems too. When you convert it pdf to ps the files are going to be massive because of the loss of compression, it's gets even worse if the pdf has images......Then'll you have a more problems with disk on the server and or running out of memory on ps printers.
All of things I have discussed I have done in some sort of fashion. Speaking from experience your idea of 13 meg xml file is just a really bad idea. I would go with option one.

XDK9.2.0.2, pb with JAXP and XSL Processor
Hello,
I'm using XDK 9.2.0.2 and I try to use JAXP.
I have a difference between using the Oracle XSL processor directly and through JAXP.
Through JAXP, the processor don't care about the xsl:outpout encoding attribute !
Why ?
It take care of method, indent, ... but not encoding !
I try to set the property with : transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.ENCODING, "iso-8859-1");
It works but I don't want to do that this way !
TIA
Didier

Could you post some working code that shows how you
can do it?
Thanks.
It works now, I have used the code:
result = processor.processXSL(stylesheet, xml);
PrintWriter pw = new PrintWriter(out);
result.print(pw);
I had tried this before but there was an error in other place that prevented it to work.
Thank you anyway. -
Hi all,
I am facing some problem with ORACLE database while configuring one JDBC scenario in the receiver side. I have configured one JDBC scenario like FILE TO JDBC. As JDBC is at receiver side i have provided the input file with the following format ,
<root>
<StatementName1>
<dbTableName action="INSERT">
<table>employee</table>
<access>
<flag>NO</flag>
<ID>567</ID>
<NAME>134</NAME>
</access>
</dbTableName>
</StatementName1>
</root>
But in the ORACLE database all my columns are in the uppercase.
So when i have tried to send this input file to process through JDBC receiver side then i have faced the below error :
FATAL ERROR: Column 'flag' does not exist in table 'employee'
Then I have tried to check with sender side processing of JDBC adapter. By using the SQL statements as
SELECT * FROM EMPLOYEE WHERE flag='NO'
UPDATE EMPLOYEE SET Flag='YES' WHERE flag='NO'
Here it worked fine.
Now my question is,
If the same adapter is working when we are writing a query directly(sender side), then we must also allow case independence in the auto generated SQL part(receiver side).
The JDBC drivers for both SQL server and Oracle, supports the same java code, for accessing the DB, irrespective of the case of the column names.
Please clarify this doubt as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Soorya.Hi Dharmaveer,
When I go with the following input file,
<root>
<StatementName1>
<dbTableName action="INSERT">
<table>EMPLOYEE</table>
<access>
<FLAG>NO</FLAG>
<ID>666</ID>
<NAME>SSS</NAME>
</access>
</dbTableName>
</StatementName1>
</root>
I will get the following query with succesfull processing.
INSERT INTO EMPLOYEE (FLAG, ID, NAME) VALUES (NO, 666, SSS)
when i go with this input file,
<root>
<StatementName1>
<dbTableName action="INSERT">
<table>EMPLOYEE</table>
<access>
<flag>NO</flag>
<ID>777</ID>
<NAME>TTTT</NAME>
</access>
</dbTableName>
</StatementName1>
</root>
Then i am facing this problem,
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'EMPLOYEE' (structure 'StatementName1'): java.sql.SQLException: FATAL ERROR: Column 'flag' does not exist in table 'EMPLOYEE'
Here I cant get any SQL statement as it is not successfull.
I have gone through your link but it also says to modify the column in the input file which is not possible for me. Can you please help me in this regard?
Thanks,

Ugly problem with java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
Hello,
I am writing a web service which connects to WebSphere MQ queue manager and puts a message on a queue.
I use Eclipse and as usual I followed more or less the hints given at:
http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jst/components/ws/1.5/tutorials/BottomUpWebService/BottomUpWebService.html
I have chosen Tomcat 5.5.20 as target server (had to, because otherwise it does not create a server-config.wsdd file), the web service WSDL thingies and the client were created successfully.
I have created WAR files and everything went fine when I tested the thing on JBoss.
Bad things started after I deployed the things on the Tomcat server. When I start the client I receive java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException as a result. The web service itself does not generate any exception, but the client does (I'll post the dump later..).
During the debug it turned that the exception is generated at the moment when the web service program tries to call any of the WebSphere functions.
Now - 1st obvious thing was to check if I have com.ibm.mq.jar in the WEB-INF/lib directory inside my WAR files. Yep! There it was.
So.. if the thing works just fine on JBoss and it booms on Tomcat I wonder whats the hack here? I copied all of the MQ libraries i have from JBOSS_HOME/lib to CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib and CATALINA_HOME/common/lib. Well.. that's quite ugly, because all necessary jars are inside the WEB-INF/lib directory. Anyway nothing of the above helped me running the thing on Tomcat.
Do you have any suggestions or have anyone of you ever had such problem?
Here are the exception dump and part of the code:

Thanx for any ideas or help from ur side.Did you have any success on this?
I also have the same problem with Tomcat 6.
I had Tomcat 5.0 working with this code, but when we migrated to Tomcat 6.0, I am getting this exception on the clent side. I figured out that it is occuring on invoking WebSphere MQ call from the code.
Thanks
