SCORM packager for Mac?

Hello!
There are a couple components to this question - essentially, I'd like to have the Flash capabilities of the eLearning Suite on my Mac (I don't need Captivate.) There's a SCORM packager offered with the eLearning Suite version of Flash, and I really need something comparable.
I'm working with an eLearning development team and I know enough about Flash to be able to take their templates and build out courses. I'm also fairly proficient in AS3 (I can look at the code and figure out how to modify it appropriately or go and find what I want on the net). My biggest problem right now is that this team all has CS4 eLearning Suite and I'm trying to work with them from my CS4 Web Design Premium software.
Everything works right up until I try to edit, or publish one of their scored assessment .flas and then it breaks.  I originally thought it was just because I changed something I wasn't aware of, but I opened one, didn't alter anything, published it and it no longer worked appropriately. I'm guessing this is because my version of Flash is missing something included in the eL suite version? Does that hold any water?  I'm really ignorant when it comes to the SCORM stuff, so any help (even basic explanation of what's happening) would be helpful and appreciated.
Also, I would also love to be able to package a course myself, but can't using the Adobe Scorm Packager because it's not distributed outside of the eL suite and not at all for Macs from what I can tell. Any recommendations?  Or is it impossible to match what the team is doing exactly with the Adobe solution on my MacBook Pro with a 3rd party packager?
Thanks again!  Best,
-SJ

So the lessons the folks with the eLearning Suite publish work fine in the LMS? Or is that totally your job....so you've never gotten these to work as needed?
If the other folks have a process for publishing these lessons that works in the target LMS, have them absolutely detail that for you, then see if you can duplicate or where the process breaks down.
When you "publish one of their scored assessment .flas and then it breaks", what does that mean? Just published it doesn't work as expected? It doesn't work as it does when they publish it (assuming they do)? It doesn't work in the LMS when their published versions do?
And when it 'doesn't work'....what doesn't work?
If the other folks on the team can output/publish content that works in the target LMS, then you need to know exactly how that's done and figure out exactly where you run into trouble.
If the other folks can't/don't do that output and that final SCORM publishing is up to you, then perhaps a better plan is to find a third-party 'shell' or 'wrapper' that can take your non-SCORM content and integrate it for the SCORM functionality you need. Of course, better to handle that through the tools you have yourself - for example, there's a free (I think) SCO packager extension for Dreamweaver that may help... I'm not really sure what the SCORM Packager in the eLearning Suite actually does...

  • Native package for Mac and relative path

    Hi,
    I done a small application with Javafx that start an Embedded Jetty. All works fine in Windows also with native package. Instead in Mac it works only before native packaging. Seems that the problem is how relative path are considered.
    The tree of the content is this:
    myfile.jar
    webapp (folder)
    libs (folder)
    Look at this code:
                    String webAppDir = "webapp";
                    File f = new File(webAppDir);
                    log.debug("Path webapp folder: " + f.getAbsolutePath());
                    if (!f.exists())
                        throw new Exception("The folder " + f.getAbsolutePath() + " doesn't exist");
                    if (!f.canRead())
                WebAppContext context = new WebAppContext();
                context.setContextPath("/myapp");
                context.setResourceBase("webapp");
                context.setDescriptor("WEB-INF" + File.separator + "web.xml");
                context.setSessionHandler(new SessionHandler(sessionManager));
                        throw new Exception("La cartella " + f.getAbsolutePath() + " non è leggibile");
    The problem is that before the packaging in Mac the relative path is that where the main .jar is located an so the code works because the webapp folder is found. Instead after the bundle the path became /Users/MyUser/webapp and of course the folder is not found because it is bundled inside the file.app near the libs folder.
    Someone can explain me if this behaviour is due to JavaFx packager and how I can solve the problem in a elegant way?
    Thanks very much

    Some good soul has any idea?
    Thanks

  • Multi-SCORM Packager for v.5 & v.7 files

    Hi all,
    I have 11 different projects that originally were created in v.5 and that I am editing now. This is the only version of Captivate that the client has and wants to maintain the files in this version. I also have v.7 on my machine. Since Multi-SCORM is now a part of v.7, can I use that to publish the .zip files that include the imsmanifest.xml files to upload to their LMS (ComplianceWire)?
    Thanks

    If you're asking whether or not the Cp7 Multi-SCORM Packager can handle Cp 5.5 SCOs the answer is that it's not likely.  Cp6 introduced a totally new set of SCORM drivers from Rustici Software, the people behind the SCORM Cloud LMS and TIN CAN API.  As a result of this big change to the SCORM output, the Cp 5.5 packager could not handle Cp6 or Cp7 SCOs.  So the reverse would also seem likely.
    But by all means do some testing before you write it off.

  • Switching from Windows to mac, how to get master collection cs5 package for mac instead?

    Purchased Abobe Master Collection CS5 in 2010 and had been using Windows as an operating system since but I'm about to make the switch to OSX. However the download package and serial numbers I purchased are for windows, can I switch to mac download packages and will my serial numbers work for them?
    Thanks,
    Nicholas

    Unfortunately, Creative Suite packages are operating system-specific.  Further, platforem swaps are only supported for the mst recent release which is CS6.  You can read more about the policy thru the link below:

  • Server Package for Mac Mini

    I am looking to purchase a Mac Mini maybe a 2009 model.  I know that the 2009 models support Mavericks.  Instead of buying an actual Mac Mini server with OS server software, I thought of buying a Mac Mini "desktop" model and buying the Server Package.  I would be using the Mac Mini "server" for basic features and functions. I am not going to do email or chat or any heavy duty typical office server stuff.  I just want to get to know the Mavericks server side of life.
    Can I purchase the Server Package from Apple?

    I was looking at the OS X Server which is 10.9.5 + compatible at the App store.  Unfortunately, I was reading some bad reviews on this software. Different users expressing there opinion on issues with this version. I am little relunctant on buying this software at $19.99.  I don't know if previous server software is more stable than this version.
    Does Apple still offer any OS X Server versions besides latest version which is 10.9.5?  I know I can check Ebay to purchase software.

  • Packager for Mac (desktop) app store???

    Any plans to release a packager that will export native code for the Mac desktop?

    Hopefully one day there will be an easier way to make Mac App Store ready files, but meanwhile you can do it in slightly harder ways. Read the whole of this article:
    http://developerdispatch.com/flash-and-the-mac-app-store.html
    It's written by the developer of Gold Strike, which has been as high as #2 in the top free games chart. It's still at #21.

  • How can I download Japanese language package for Mac SOX 10.2.5?

    I received a PDF in Japanese, but my acrobat reader cannot read it. It gives me a message that I need a Japanese language package which is not available for this version. What should I do?

    You should be running OS 10.2.8 (the final build for Jaguar - download it from Apple.com/support), and check Apple.com to see if there are some international language updates as well - you may have to install those from your original OS 10.2 Disc. If you have those, you should be able to open a Japanese PDF in Preview (the built in PDF viewer in OS X).

  • Xcode 4.1: Failed to download documentation package for Mac OS X 10.7 Core Library.

    I have installed Xcode 4.1 in Mac OS lion 10.7, Xcode is failed to download the Mac OS X 10.7 Core Library, but Xcode4.1 download Xcode4.1 developer library successfully. who knows why it is?

    Nothing official, yet. But I don't think this will ever have official response. If it is a policy change and not a bug, we won't get an official response. If we were to get one, we would already have, and no onw would wait until we found that out by ourselves.

  • Dell C1660w printer - no driver for Mac OS X 10.9.2

    I bought a new Dell C1660w printer based upon past experience with this very same printer model that I used at a previous previous job not more than a month ago. I used the previous C1660w printer on an Apple Mac Book Pro and so naturally purchased a new one assuming that I would very easily configure it to my new Mac Book Pro.
    WRONG... The printer is currently sitting on my desk and I can't configure it to my computer.
    Upon calling Dell support about this issue I learned that there is currently no printer driver file available for the Mac Os X version 10.9.2. When I asked the rep as to when this driver might be available I was told there is no way she could answer that either. I also learned that there is no direct escalation path for a customer other than her log of the notes from our conversation. I'm sitting here with a new printer beside my computer. Please don't tell me to simply return it! It should never have come to this.
    Words cannot adequately express the frustration and disappointment I have experienced and empathy from the customer service rep is not an acceptable solution either. When will this driver be made available??
    Frustrated in Pasadena CA.

    Hello Mello1963,
    I am sorry that you did not receive the proper information regarding your request for drivers. Upon checking our support site I was able to locate a install package for Mac 10.6-10.9 so this should get you taken care of. Please let us know if this gets you up and running.
