I have a scenario in that I should able to upload the screen shot in the database tables for webdynpro application.
Please let me know how can I acheive this task.

Hi Ram ,
You may use the below Fm to convert xstring to string:
ECATT_CONV_XSTRING_TO_STRING.
Example:
call function 'ECATT_CONV_XSTRING_TO_STRING'

Where,
lv_bin is the xsting data
lv_string is the string output

How to upload and store pic in database through Servlet

I am new to servlet programming. I need some help i am developing shopping cart of pictures
I have problem in admin module
When admin upload new picture and description of picture
i want to store information of uploaded picture in database so that user can view new photographs for shopping
Now problem is that how to upload and store picture in database and how to retrive picture from datebase and disply on user end
I am in great difficulty

Use BLOBS to upload and download image files into the database....

Uploading excel data to database table

Dear Experts,
                     I have an Excel file which was downloaded from SQL database, now I need to export this data into my 'ztable', for this first I created an internal table of ztable structure and tried to upload into this table through ''TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP".
But I was unable to get data into the internal table(incompatible type), so now I created an internal table of character type fileds now I able to get data to this internal table, but to put this internal table data to actual database table it gives error, here the actual problem is the fields of internal table are getting concated with blank spaces(observed through debug), I unable to condense these blanks also, (I have created an Excel of my own and put data into it and uploaded that data there is no problem working fine but this problem occurs only for the excel downloaded from SQL db)
                   The problem occurs for quantity and currency fields(I tried through standard FMs also to convert data types ), Could plz suggest something..........

To upload excel sheet into database table, define a types which is of same as table fields.
and try it with the function module TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP

I have a column where I have implemented writeback, its working fine. On top of this I need to show 0 as No and 1 as yes in our report, that is also done. Now I want to enter Yes in a column where it was no and I want database table to get update with 1.

For this you need to create directory
Directory Creation syntax:

please paste the excel file in the particular directory .

New JNDI name created for each drag and drop of database table into table

Hi All,
I'm using Netbeans 5.5 with Visual Web Pack with Mysql as backend. Whenever I drag and drop a database table into table component it creates new JNDI (data source) name for each table. I want to use single JNDI name for all tables. If I change the JNDI name to default name then the design disappears and shows error . Is there any option to set the JNDI name unique for all tables?

Well I've tried using the MouseListener / MouseMotionListener approach but it doesn't quite seem to work, although it does get the events correctly. I think the reason is that it doesn't interact correctly with the Java DnD machinery which is something that V.V hinted at. It's something that I may need to look into if / when I have more time available.
I have to say though that I haven't had any problems with scrollbars - we're making fairly heavy use of large tables and if you drag over a table with a scroll bar and move to the top or bottom then it scrolls as you would expect and allows you to drop the data where you like. For this situation I've used pretty much the same approach as for the toy example above except that I've implemented separate source and destination TransferHandlers (the source table is read-only, and it really doesn't make sense to allow people to drag from the destination table so I've essentially split the functionality of the example handler down the middle).
I'm not actually particularly in favour of messing too much with the mechanics of DnD, more because of lack of time than anything else. Guess I'll just have to put up with this for the moment. Doesn't help that DnD is so poorly documented by Sun.

I would like to be able to upload a .txt file using a webpage. Then store the information inside this file into database tables.
eg. contents of mytextfile.txt:
richard
10 anywhere street, anytown, somewhere
111 222 333 444
joe
9 somestreet, elsewhere
999 888 777 666
peter
214 nearby lane, overhere
555 555 555 555
I would like to insert this data into a table.
eg. table name = CONTACTS
userid = primary key (using sequence)
username = (line 1 - richard, joe, peter)
address = (line 2)
phone_no = (line 3)
As you can see the records will appear 1 at a time and will have a blank line between records. Is there anyway for me to upload a file like this and have it placed into tables?
I have seen http://otn.oracle.com/products/database/htmldb/howtos/howto_file_upload.html but this seems to be for uploading a whole file and downloading the same file, rather than extracting data from the file.
I hope I have managed to explain my problem.

Richard,
HTML DB allows you to upload CSV files via the Data Workshop. That data would then be parsed and inserted into a specific table. Alternatively, if you have your data in an Excel spreadsheet, and it is less than 32k, you can copy & paste the data directly into HTML DB's Data Workshop, which will then parse and import it into the Oracle database.
The one obstacle you may have to overcome is converting your data from the format you outlined to CSV format. Specifically, you would have to make this:
richard
10 anywhere street, anytown, somewhere
111 222 333 444
Look something like this:
"richard","10 anywhere street, anytown, somewhere","111 222 333 444"

           I am developing application for summer placement . i want to upload image with candidate's details and save it to database. How to do this? I hv got tutorials for uploading image but want to know how to save it to database table along with candidate's details.

               In Webdynpro u r using attribute of type Resource ,which is binded to FileUpload UI element. From this attribute, u get file in Input stream format which can be converted into byte array like this

In webservice u can take a the byte array as input parameter where the uploaded file will be passed as byte array .
In DB u can store it as BLOB .
in case of any other doubt u can revert back to me.

oracle forms and reports . want to know the steps to upload and check in oracle database objects like tables,functions,procedures etc which we already have in our database.

for all structured objects you need Oracle Designer as frontend to SCM Repository. In Designer use the design editor und choose from the GENERATE Menu the item CAPTURE DESIGN OF. There you will find SERVER MODEL.

How to synchronize between OID and the Custom Database Tables ?

Hi All,
Our ADF Application is using Oracle SIngle-Sign On (OAS 10.1.4). Meanwhile we also maintain
users login within Database table to store application menu accessibility data.
i.e:
Firstly user Login using Oracle SSO, after logged in, application will query the above mentioned
database tables to determine which menu he/she has access.
We have develope a security module to input users login into the database, so I need to synchronize
the data into OID, so that that particular user can use Oracle SSO.
How is the mechanism to do that ?

OID providesa Java and PLSQL API. I agree with Chris that from what you describe, the PLSQL API seems to be the best approach to take as it allows you to use database triggers for the synchronization

How to get the values enterd in the interactive form and store it in table.

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement, i want to display the editable fields in Adobe form and have a button.If i click the button what i enter in the fields that will be store in the table.
I tried but the button action is not going....
In the Form i put the layout type as : xACFLayout.
and in the webdynpro the enabled property checked and display type put the activeX still the form in the fields are in non-editable....
Can you please give me step by step procedure for the same.

My Requirement:
I have a interactive form in that 2 input fields 1. First name 2.Last name and one button .
If i clcik the button what i enterd in the above 2 inputfields i have to get store it in R/3 table.
I tried this one.
1. Created the view in the context created the node "adobe" cardinality... (1..1) and below created the child node "input" cardinality(1..1) and 2 attributes first name and last name.and other attribute pdfsource type xstring.
created the UI element Interactive form, and chekc the enabled checkbox, and display type "native" and binding the data source property to node "adobe" cardinality... (1..1) and pdf source to pdfsource node. and templet gave "ZFORM" and gave the interface name "ZINTERFACE" and drag and drop the node elements into layout
and created the webdybnpro button and webdynpro event gave *clcik and javascript and save activated the form.
2. In the Ui elemt in view action onsubmit wrote the code to get the context element values and insert that int0o table.
But here the Submit button action was not trigerring.....................
can you please help me in the same..... ASAP give any sugesstion what i have to change in this scenario.....
