Script for Director in Authorware

Hello,
I am new here and I hope that someone could help me.
I have a Director movie and I want to play this in Authorware
with the ActiveXcontrol. I see the movie playing but Authorware
goes on running the complete flowline in the back while the
Director movie is playing in front of it.
I am not good in scripting in Authorware but I need a script
that tells Authorware to play the Director movie, (and stay at that
point of the flowline) and continue the flowline after the Director
movie Quits. (The Lingo command Quit in the Director movie)
Is there someone to help me?
O.... something else, the stage of the Director File is the
same size as the Authorware stage
Thanks
Marius

To elaborate on what Erik has said, you'll need an
interaction with an event
response set up that will catch some sort of event set up
with Director. I
don't think anyone on here uses Director on here much, so
they'd have to
experiment with the files as much as you would. You may find
that looking
at the Flash ActiveX ShowMe gives you some ideas of things to
look at while
you're experimenting.

  • Need script for moving files to specific directories base on csv

    Hi,
    I have a question. I have about 2000 files (pdf), which I need move to specific directories and subdirectories, which are based on csv file.
    Csv is looking like this:
    filename;directoryname;subdirectoryname;subdirectoryname;.......etc.
    I have a script for creating directories with subdirectories from csv file, but I need this script for moving files to this directories.....
    Thanks a lot for every help.
    Best Regards

    _bitmap                              = new Bitmap( _bitmapData );
    _bitmapData.draw ( stage );
    saveImageJPG( _bitmapData, "test.jpg", 96 );
    public function saveImageJPG( bitmapData:BitmapData, fileName:String, quality:int ):void {
                this.jpgEncoder = new JPGEncoder( quality );
                this.fileReference = new FileReference();
                this.fileReference.save( this.jpgEncoder.encode( bitmapData ), fileName + ".jpg" );
    Keep in mind that you need a few extra libraries to be able to create a jpeg.. (AS3CoreLib) can be found at googleCode.

  • Overhauling the Documentation for Director

    Hi Everyone,
    Please excuse this cross-post. You can also find it on the Direct-L mailing list and on the Director Online Forum. I will post a summary of answers to each of these places.
    Rajnish Bharti, Product Manager for Director and Shockwave, asked me last week for my input on how best to overhaul the documentation for Director.  In particular, he asked me to give him an idea of what the Table of Contents should look like.
    You can find my first draft of the Table of Contents here:
    http://www.openspark.com/adobe/Director_Documentation_01.zip
    While preparing this, I contacted a number of Director teachers and trainers, talked to some newcomers to Director, consulted dozens of Director books (mostly from the Macromedia days) and pored over the various reincarnations of Director's own help.
    Examples
    Lots of real-life examples that you can copy and paste and
    know that they will work
    Images
    Clear and concise screen shots that capture the essence of
    a concept at a glance
    Fast and Powerful Searching
    Beginners don't know which menu item or scripting term they
    are looking for.  The search engine should help users to home
    in from a layman's expression to the appropriate documentation
    article.  Articles should be intelligently cross-referenced.
    I have suggested dividing the documentation into three sections:
    1. Director Step by Step
    A series of short hands-on tutorials which introduce all the
    commonly-used features of Director in the context of simple
    movies.  Beginners can start here.
    This section imagines that you have never used Director or
    studied its documentation before.  You select a project that
    is similar to the one you are planning, and the documentation
    shows you how to achieve your goal using Director.
    Hyperlinks lead you to more in-depth entries in the Feature
    Guide on how a feature works, or to the appropriate entry in
    the Scripting Dictionary.
    2. Feature Guide
    This section will give detailed explanations of each feature,
    category by category.  It will be divided into three main
    chapters:
    The Workspace
    Working with the various windows and menus
    The Raw Materials
    Understanding sprites, members, the various media types
    and data types
    The Process
    Designing your project, animating sprites, using scripts
    and publishing your work.
    This section will give you a categorized view of what Director
    does.  It imagines that you start with a "How do I..." type of
    question, and guides you to the appropriate part of the
    User Interface or the correct scripting terms to use.
    It will contain links both to the Step by Step tutorials and
    to the entries in the Lingo Dictionary.
    3. Alphabetical Scripting Dictionary
    I have abandoned the idea of having the Dictionary divided
    into categories.  I believe it is much easier to find an
    entry without having to wonder whether it is a keyword, a
    method or an operator.  If you don't know what entry you
    should be looking for, the Feature Guide will help you.  If
    you do know the word you are looking for, then you only
    need to know the alphabet.
    Each entry in the Scripting Dictionary should link back to
    the articles in the Feature Guide which refer to it, and to
    each of the tutorials in the Step by Step section which use
    the term.
    I also suggest (Section 4) implementing a much more powerful Search engine than the D11.5 browser-based help currently features, but that is not really a part of the Table of Contents.
    The document that I have posted at...
    http://www.openspark.com/adobe/Director_Documentation_01.zip
    ... is by no means definitive, but it is at a point where I am ready to share it, to check if my general approach is acceptable.
    I have not gone into much greater detail in some areas than in others, so past the 4th level, you may find certain areas are still vague.  You may have better ideas for the Step by Step tutorial movies than the ones I have included.
    Red text indicates new content.
    I welcome feedback from all members on the community, both in terms of the content and the structure.
    Once we have a comprehensive list of all the topics to cover and a consensus on the structure, then we will have to work out the most cost-effective way of generating the actual content.
    Let me know what you think,
    James

    James, this looks outstanding!
    I'm too far behind in versions to offer much here, but one thing I noticed that, I think is an oops:
    3.4.    Java Dictionary
    should be:
    3.4.    JavaScript Dictionary
    Unless they brought back the Java beast, that is.

  • Disaster Recovery Scripts for Managed Server MSI Startup

    Hi,
    Configuration: Weblogic 8.1SP2 on Windows 2000, 1 admin server and 14
    managed
    servers
    whats the right way from these 2 scenarious to create a domain on managed
    server
    1. create domain on managed server using configuration wizard. Then point
    to this
    domain from administration server remote start tab(root directory). This
    is what
    we do so far.This is the best way to create managed servers for your domain.
    >
    2. Just enter user_projects/domains folder/$domain name$ in remote start
    tab(root
    directory)
    on admin server console and when you start the managed server from
    admin console
    the domain folder and files will be created.
    Yes, the managed server is started in this case at the root directory you specified.
    The difference is in the
    1. first case we see all scripts like startManagedWeblogic, setenv, boot.properties
    etc
    this may help(we still dont know) if one wants to bring up managed
    server
    manually using
    startManagedServer.bat without using node manager.Yes, that is correct. You will need to edit the startManagedServer.bat to include
    the admin server URL, username and paswword..
    >
    2. second case only 2-3 files get created like msi-config.xml and SerializedSystemIni.dat
    Basically first case is superset of second case.
    What is the experience of people in this regard?
    thanks much

  • "samba-discovery". An automounter script for windows shares

    Hi.
    At the last lan party I found it quite annoying to mount samba shares by hand all the time (as I don't use a smb capable browser with fuse like dolphin or the like). So here's what I've come up with. Explenations on how it works are at the start of the script. You can also download it directly from here. Basically you run it and anything available on the lan will be tidily mounted to /mnt/samba-discovery/*.
    #!/bin/bash
    # Hi and welcome to this samba/windows share automounting script.
    # It will:
    # - Scan the network for windows/samba hosts.
    # - Mount all their available guest shares
    # - If rerun it will check if all shares are still accesible
    # - Unmount everything if you use the -u option
    # It will not:
    # - Work on password protected shares. No idea what will happen,
    # I guess mount.cifs will spit an error but the script will continue
    # Run it without options to mount/rescan, use -u to unmount everything.
    # Before running it please specify the options below.
    # Post questions on the Archlinux forum: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=596979#p596979
    # MOST IMPORTANTLY: If it eats all your files for breakfast, it's none
    # of my responsibility! It should be quite safe though because it's
    # always checking if a dir is empty before deleting it.
    ### Options
    # Specify the name of your network adapter (e.g. eth0):

    thanks a lot, i wanted to write that script for a long time, but never got around. one thing though, you shouldn't mount stuff in a subfolder of /mnt because /mnt itself should be kept for such purposes (unix file hierarchy standards, afaik)
    but that should be easily fixed by myself
    cheers

    In the default php.ini is set open_basedir which limits work with php only to few directories (and directories bellow them). There is set /srv/http, /home,/tmp and /usr/share/pear by default.
    To allow your vhost you should add /data/www or set empty value.

  • Shell Scripts for Directory Creation !

    Hi All
    Where can we find the Shell scripts for creating Directories before installing SAP SM 7.0 on RHEL 5.2 ?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks
    Srikar

    Yes - it may be necessary if that is a completely new machine.
    But it's not that much work for that you would need a script, you can create multiple at once using
    mkdir -p /oracle/<SID>/102_64
    mkdir -p /oracle/<SID>/sapbackup
    etc.
    If you don't create them now, sapinst will tell you to create them, it won't stop with an error.

  • Creating SQL-Loader script for more than one table at a time

    Hi,
    I am using OMWB 2.0.2.0.0 with Oracle 8.1.7 and Sybase 11.9.
    It looks like I can create SQL-Loader scripts for all the tables
    or for one table at a time. If I want to create SQL-Loader
    scripts for 5-6 tables, I have to either create script for all
    the tables and then delete the unwanted tables or create the
    scripts for one table at a time and then merge them.
    Is there a simple way to create migration scripts for more than
    one but not all tables at a time?
    Thanks,
    Prashant Rane

    No there is no multi-select for creating SQL-Loader scripts.
    You can either create them separately or create them all and
    then discard the one you do not need.

    error while executing script for sharepoint online (office 365) - the remote server returned an error: (503) server unavailable.
    I am creating many site collections reading records from sharepoint list using powershell in sharepoint online tenant (office 365).
    Few site collections are created and then getting above error so this error record will be skipped then few succeeding record processed then again getting error.
    pattern is like:
    success
    success
    success
    success
    Error
    success
    success
    success
    success
    success
    success

  • Custom calculation script for checkboxs

    Hello,
    Can anyone help me out with custom calculation script for this?  I have two mutually exclusive checkboxes that, when checked, I want to populate data into other text fields.
    If Checkbox1 is checked:
    Company1=Warehouse Alpha
    Address1=1234 Any Street
    City/State/Zip1= Los Angeles, CA 90020
    Contact Name1= Mr. Nice Guy
    Phone Number1= 213-854-8565
    Email1=[email protected]
    If Checkbox2 is checked:
    Company2=Warehouse Beta
    Address2= 5678 Awesome Blvd.
    City/State/Zip2= San Bernardino, CA 96545
    Contact Name2= Mr. Handsome
    Phone Number2= 909-824-8265
    Email2=[email protected]
    Thanks,
    Bryan

    So one has two check boxes and one wants them to be mutually exclusive. Name them the same and change the export value of the field. Try it and observe what happens as you check the different check boxes.
    You have described what happens if either box is checked but what happens when a checked box Is unckecked?
    One can place scripts in many locations. I would use a mouse up action for both the check boxes, use the same script for both check boxes.
    I would assume you are using the following names for the fields to populate:
    Company
    Address
    CityStateZip
    ContactName
    PhoneNumber
    Email
    // Mouse up action for both check boxes;
    // initial value for the fields:
    this.getField("Company"),value = "";
    this.getField("CityStateZip"),value = "";
    this.getField("ContactName"),value = "";
    this.getField("PhoneNumber"),value = "";
    this.getField("Email"),value = "";
    // test for check box value for selected box;
    if(event.value == 1) {
    this.getField("Company"),value = "Warehouse Alpha";
    this.getField("CityStateZip"),value = "1234 Any Street";
    this.getField("ContactName"),value = "Los Angeles, CA 90020";
    this.getField("PhoneNumber"),value = "213-854-8565";
    this.getField("Email"),value = "[email protected]";
    if(event.value == 2) {
    this.getField("Company"),value = "Warehouse Beta";
    this.getField("CityStateZip"),value = "5678 Awesome Blvd.";
    this.getField("ContactName"),value = "San Bernardino, CA 96545";
    this.getField("PhoneNumber"),value = "Mr. Handsome";
    this.getField("Email"),value = "[email protected]";
    // end Mouse up action for both check boxes;

  • Sharepoint warmup script for https sites

    we want to warm up https site which is based on sharepoint 2010.
    When we run some sample powershells it shows access forbidden error so we are not able to warm up https site.
    Its slow on first load so need some warmup script for https sites.
    sharepointer

    Just ensure that the service account that you use to trigger the Powershell scripts has access to IIS and SharePoint.  Most often, the SharePoint Farm account would be used for scheduling the warm up scripts on the WFE server.
    I trust that answers your question...

  • Running Permission Scripts for App-V packages in VDI environment

    Hi
    We use App-V 5.0 SP1 in VDI environment.
    We have a major problem with packages' permissions
    Our users don't have administrative privileges on their machines.
    As the option for "Security Descriptors" is discontinued, the only way to give permissions to a folder in a package is to use the VFSCACLS.vbs as a startup script of a package.
    This way the first time users launch an application they're prompt to reopen it, and the second time they can use the application with the needed permissions.
    The problem:
    The script saves those permission changes under LOCALAPPDATA\AppV...
    Therefore, everytime the users logoff the folder is deleted (VDI...) and again, they must run the script for the first  again to get the permissions back after logon!
    We cannot roam the LOCALAPPDATA\AppV folder as its size can be dozens of GBs...
    Folder permissions with group policy is also not a solution, as the folder name changes everytime we upgrade a package and it's impossible to follow with hundreds of packages.
    So it's either we're missing something critical in the architecture with VDI environment or there's a normal solution for these situations.
    Would love to get some help
    Thanks
    Tamir Levy

    Hi Nicke
    that's what I did! the problem is that I find my self over and over again want to sequence packages in App-V 5.0 and forced to sequence it in App-V 4.6.
    I really hope that it wasn't App-V team's goal. announcing App-V 5.0 and tell us it doesn't support many things so we will still need App-V 4.6 forever.
    I have to maintain 2 different App-V environments with 4 different servers , 4 different sequencers and 2 clients on each computer. it doesn't make any sense for me to forced to stay with both of the versions forever.
    correct me if I'm wrong but App-V 4.6 is a legacy application. the new versions cover only support on newer operating systems and nothing more. I won't be surprised if in the next version of MDOP won't come with App-V 4.6 anymore and Microsoft will announced
    it's unsupported very soon.
    Every time I open a ticket with MS Support the best thing I get is "It's a known issue, we can't tell when it will be fixed"
    can you help me more ? move it forward to other people from the inside? at least agree with me that something is not as expected in App-V 5.0... :(
    I love the technology, I believe in it, I'm kinda depend on it and I only want it to be better

  • One script for multiple loaded movie clips

    Hello,
    I am sure that this has been asked or answered before, but
    could not locate the correct response.
    Problem:
    There are 20 movie clips loaded onto the stage through
    actionscript. I have 20 different onPress scripts to start the drag
    for each (which also contain custom variable).
    Problem, I have one single onRelease script which is to be
    used for each, but do now wish to give 20 custom handled scripts.
    Can I somehow use certain scripting for using one single
    generic script for the onRelease? So no matter what was released it
    will go through this one script.
    Thanks
    D

    like this...
    activate
    set the_folder to choose folder with prompt "Select the folder you want to add folders to..."
    tell application "Finder"
    set the_name to "Name"
    set the_count to 3
    repeat with this_num from 1 to the_count
    set new_num to this_num as string
    if (count new_num) is 1 then set new_num to "0" & new_num
    make new folder at the_folder with properties {name:the_name & " " & new_num}
    end repeat
    end tell

  • Getting error while running script for online backup

    Hi,
    I am running a script for online backup but ended up with an the below error.
    *ERROR* [Backup Worker Thread] com.day.crx.core.backup.Backup Failed to create temporary directory
    Please help out in resolving this.
    Thanks in Advnace.
    Maheswar

    Hi mahesh,
    If you are using backup feature from crx console, I mean http://localhost:4502/crx/config/backup.jsp  I can say that we had also some problems with this functionalities.
    First off all what you need to check are the permissions, because when you check a source code there is line which creates a File object using a path specified by you to make a backup of repository.
    File targetDir = new File(req.getParameter("targetDir", listDir.getParentFile().getAbsolutePath()));
    You need to have sure that the proper read write access has been granted for this path.
    Another issue is that maybe there was already prepared some hotfix if you are using CQ5.4. Please refer to the following link:
    http://dev.day.com/content/kb/home/Crx/CrxSystemAdministration/CRXOnlineBackup.html
    and also to this one:
    http://dev.day.com/content/docs/en/crx/current/release_notes/overview.html which contains a hotfix number #34797 which was applied to backup.jsp file.
