Scripting external movies to buttons in main movie, help please?
I'm building an entirely flash based website using Flash CS3 and ActionScript 2. I'm using external movies for the various pages, and putting buttons that control these movies in the main movie file. Normally, I'd simply put the script to control the buttons on the main movie file, not the external ones, but because there's more than two different pages and I'm fading each external clip in and out, I'm wondering if possible to put the script, for the buttons on the main movie, on the external movies.
I hope I've explained it right, any help appreciated.

ok, i removed the trace from the main timeline and put that trace on the external portfolio movie, here's the output results.
when testing the main movie i i got: _level0
and when testing the external movie i got: undefined
so, by the looks of the results it is tracing back to main movie from the external one, it's just not got a target in main movie. is that right? we've already made sure all the movie clips and buttons involved are referenced and instance names are correct, so how can it be undefined?

I want the main movie to show me playing on the neck of a guitar, and a smaller window that shows what my picking hand is doing.I enabled Advanced Features in Preferences but I do not see any Menu item that allows me to put another video window on my video and it does not come up in "Inspector" either - so, Advanced Features says it is available but I cannot find a way to enable it - I did not find anything in the Help menu either.

Stuck on apple logo and Home button doesn't work, help please?
Well, I dropped my iPod Touch 4g by accident and since that day, the home button hasn't really been working that well. Its very hard to use since you have to press it in really hard to get it to work and sometimes it doesn't even work at all. Anways, I was skyping with my girl and I didn't notice that I had to charge the iPod and it died on me so I was like what ever its normal and started to charge it. When it turned on, it got stuck on the Apple logo and its been there for more than a day now? What can I do? I know about the Press Home + Sleep button together but the Home button doesn't work at all anymore. I tried everything really. I tried to connect it to itunes and see if I could restore it but it won't recognize it no matter where I connect it. Tried it on 3 different computers and none worked at all. I can't take it to an Apple store since there isn't any close to where I live and I really don't have anyone to take me there. So is there any other solution to fix my problem at home? or is it messed up completely? Someone please help me
I have this same issue. But also, it isn't just that the lock/home button stops working, all buttons stop working. Even if you switch it to silent sounds are still played. I just got my iphone Thursday. Went to school the next day and pulled it out, it happened while it was locked I guess because my screen was black and I couldn't do anything! Thought it died already! This was around 12. Finally I pulled it out of my pocket again at around 3 and it showed the Apple logo and acted like it had just started back up. Which is what always happens after I get stuck playing a game or something. Help please, has happened two or three times just today.

Run diffierent movie formats in Flash Player. Help Please

I want to run different movie formats upload by user in
Flash Player. Something like U Tube functionality
1 - Is there any player that run different movie formats like
MP3, AVI etc directly into Flash Player. No need to convert?
Another way is to convert different formats into FLV and
than run into flash player.
Is there any good FLV converter out there which converts on
the web during user upload.
Or user upload movie that is than converted to FLV but part
of web application not desktop application.

Trash EVERYTHING that appears (there should be between 8 and 12 items depending on what you have installed)
Empty the trash

Logic pro 8 sync problem, audio with Qtime movie ......Help please....
Ok.
I import Qtime movie into logic and extract audio track.
I drop extracted audio track into arrange window at start lined up with movie track.
Play movie to test, its out of sync with audio.
Check settings.on hardware and file info of Qtime movie.....48khz 24bit 25fps.
Only difference is audio from Qtime is 16bit not 24, as I understand the bit rate should not make any difference to the sync.
So I decide to sync visually the audio extract to the Qtime movie to check.
Play it back, roughly in sync.
I go to header of track and discover my audio track know starts 12 frames later
than the Qtime movie to be in sync.?? Why?
I export audo back to Qtime movie.
Play movie in Qtime...and....yep... its out of sync. by I guess 12frames
I use sound track pro for the same project and this does not happen. why?
everything is legal bought and payed for,All running on same computer and same hardware G5ppc and digi 002 rack.:(

I have a Toshiba Laptop and I dont know the exact model or anything, might be a windows 7...i have no clue. Every other answer is saying to uninstall then reinstall but i really dont feel safe doing that without all my songs externally saved (just incase) and now i cant even get into itunes! Any help is greatly appreciated

External hard drive not recognized... help please.
okay, well here is the story:
my iBook G4 had its stock 30gb hard drive in it and it was running extremely low on space. so i figured i didn't want to carry around an external hard drive, therefore i would buy an internal hard drive an install it. so i purchased a new 2.5" 80gb hard drive and called up the local apple store. they told me that although it was under warranty, that it did not cover hard drive installation. so i looked it up online and found step by step instructions to install the hard drive. so after lots of hard work and many screws, i installed the new hard drive successfully... but i still had this perfect 30gb hard drive. i thought maybe to save a few bucks i could turn it into a usb external hard drive. i found an enclosure for the hard drive and a usb 2.0 cable and plugged it into my ibook. it was recognized and everything. i put some files on the external hard drive and transferred it to another mac. this is where the trouble started. i plugged the hard drive into a PowerMac G4, and it was not recognized... so i tried it on a different mac. this time on a PowerBook G4, but no luck. this issue has been troubling me for a few weeks. but then i tried it on a similar iBook G4... and it was recognized. but i don't know why it was only recognized only on the iBook G4 (not the same iBook G4 it was pulled out of) and no other macs.
does anybody have any ideas what we can do to get this hard drive to be recognized by other macs?
any of even the smallest ideas would be greatly appreciated.

iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.3)I can walk you through formatting the hard drive:
1. Hook it up to an iBook that recognizes it.
2. Go into your Applications folder, then scroll down to Utilities. Open Utilities and scroll down a bit and you should see Disk Utility. Double-click.
3. On the left side you should see your internal hard drive and your external one. Each hard drive will have a sub-catagory with the partition indented.
4. Your external hard drive will probably be the second catagory. Click it.
5. In the center-top you should see the tabs First Aid, Erase, Partition, RAID, and Restore. Click the Erase tab.
6. You should see Volume Format: and then a drop down menu, and Name: and a text box. Type in the name you want the external hard drive to be named.
7. In the drop down menu, select Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
8. Then, simply click Erase, watch the progress and it should be good to go!!
Hope I helped you out. Oh, and it might be the enclosure...and also what OS's? Since it's USB it is probably using a USB Mass Storage driver. Mac-wise, if formatting doesn't help, I would get a FireWire enclosure because FireWire is much faster than just USB 2.0. Oh, thats nother thing...Is the enclosure Hi-Speed USB? If it isn't, I would definitely get a FireWire one...If it is, the PowerMac G4 doesn't have Hi-Speed so you're not taking full advantage..Just some insight

Hey Don, did you try to shut down the MBP (if necessary by forcing it to, done by keeping the power button pressed for more than 5 seconds) and then restarting while keeping the Command-button pressed to bring up the available boot disks, then select the install CD?
Maybe it lost power during installation and thus the HDD is shot. Did you back up before doing the new install? Do you have a second Mac you can connect the MBP via Firewire to, which means you could try target disc mode (press T and keep it pressed during startup)? -

iPads do not directly support Flash.
You can look for Flash Browsers in the App store for some options to try. Support is not 100%, but maybe one may work for you. Browsers like Puffin, Skyfire, Photon etc...
IPads do fully support JavaScript. Just make sure its turned on under Settings->Safari->Advanced->JavaScript.
If you require Java, which is completely different to JavaScript, again there are some browsers in the App store that support it. Search for "Java browsers" in the store. -

After you hold the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears (ignore the red slider to shut down) then let go of both buttons and you don't need to do anything else. Your iPad will restart all by itself. Just be patient, but leave your iPad alone after the Logo appears.

Flash buttons do not work. help please.
iv created a flash gallery using AS3. im having it self study so im not sure how well to manipulate the codes. what i did was place some codes on each frame where my next/previous buttons are place.. it works fine locally, but when i upload it online, it seems not to work and the whole frame runs when it should stop frame by frame. please help. i really don't know what happening coz its working fine locally.

nikki.no i dont think there is any other file that is calling at. because if i were to click the room and rates link, it goes directly to that rates.swf file. the problem only occur when i begin to view the web gallery, that is if i start clicking on the text buttons iv created which are the "Standard room", "STudio room", "SUite Room" and" apartment" it takes awhile for that gallery to pop up and same goes when i click on the next button, it lags and suddenly would just play continously which it shouldn't be that way and should stop on the called frame. and yes the thing is that i didn't get notified with any errors. well maybe there is something wrong with how i called the frames? by the way, my frames are labeled/named accordingly to be called, the AS3 code iv used to call each of frame is:

Woke up this morning and phone was working fine up untill I went to switch apps. It then froze up on me and the screen turned black. Its fully charged and I thought that it mightve just turned itself off so I held on the home button and lo and behold the apple logo came up! I thought my problems were fixed but after about 10 seconds of the logo being up the black screen of doom came back. The apple logo comes back about every 80 seconds. Now it is just a black screen and completely unresponisive to everything Ive tried. Ive called the phone and it rings completely through as if the phone is on but the phone itself does nothing. I would try resetting it or putting it into DFU mode but the power button is broke. I cant figure this out. PLEASE HELP!!!
you're boign to have to get it fixed. There's no way out of this without the ability to force it into Recovery or DFU mode.

Script Error - No Menu no PCD available. Help please!

we are running on a brandnew portal Installation EP 7.0 SP9.
If we logon to the portal and for example go the Content Administration section, nothing appears and Internet Explorer shows a rectangle with a Script Error message.
I have checked all of my ProxySettings, trusted sites etc...nothing happens. Could the reason be that we just have a static IP and no hostname? If so how can I make the IP trusted for the Internet Explorer?

Try this out
Go to RUN --> type drives --> opent "etc" folder --> opent host file using wordpad,
Now suppose your IP is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ok, now put an entry in this file in following way
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <Give any host name>
SAVE.
once done access portal in this way
http://<hostname you given>:<port>/irj/portal.
By the way do you use fully qualified domain ? if yes then host file entry will be
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <host name><fully qualified domain name>
And now portal url becomes
http:<host name><fully qualified domain name>:<port>/irj/portal

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Filesystem access with signed applet?
Is signing an applet enough to read-access the client filesystem? I found webpages that said, signing the applet is sufficient while other webpages say you still need policy-files.
