Scrollbar width
I'm new to this board, and so forgive me if I haven't looked
deep enough in the archives, but anyone here know if there is a way
of setting the width of a scrollbar? I see how to change the
colors, et cetera, but I was looking to get a scrollbar on my page
to appear less klunky. I see some sites out there with nice narrow
scroll bars -- are we able to acheive this with Dreamweaver?
You can change your browser scrollbar width on your machine,
but you can't
change the width of it on others browsers. Nor would you want
to really
because it would piss off alot of your visitors.

Is there a way to Customize a div Scrollbar Width or Appearance
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to customize standard a div scrollbar width or appearance. Any sort of customization would be helpful.
Thanks for your help! Can you upload a little example to box.com?
I'm trying to implement slimScroll, perfectScrollBar, or tinyScrollBar but do something wrong because it does not work me.
The reason is that in mobile devices, native scroll bars of Edge work slowly and without inertia (you can test in http://www.VolGastronomic.com).
Thanks. -
Combobox scrollbar width and item list padding
Hello, I am running an application on a touchscreen, and the default combobox is way too small to be used.
I have tried skinning the combo box component to make the scrollbar wider, it didn't work.
I tried combobox.dropdown.horizontalScrollBar.width = 300;
Nothing happens.
Is there any way to do this?
Also, I needed to increase to font size of the list items, which I was able to do. However now all the list items are squished fairly close together. Is there a way to widen each list item/ add padding around the text?
Or heck, is there even a custom combobox control that will allow me to do this? I really need this, but can't figure it out.Hi Siva/Viswas,
Problem got solved.I fixed width in pixels and the width does not change.
But as Viswas said,if the text is long then the user will not be able to see entire text..How to solve this problem other than showing a different text to user(As the user does not want that way).
I tried by dynamically creating a tool tip i.e, i bound the tool tip of list box to a attribute and i was setting the attribute to the selected text in list box.But unfortunately tool tip does not show up.Do you guys worked on dynamically generating a tool tip or else can you tell how to solve this problem.
Thanks and Regards,

Change Vertical Scrollbar width in advanced datagrid?
Help!
I'm creating an AIR application that will run on windows 8 touchscreen. Problem is the touchscreen does not recognize finger swiping up/down within the air app. Haven't figured that out yet....
In the meantime i need wider vertical scrollbars for our employees fingers to swipe up and down.
I've got a 'verticalSrollBarStyle' set however it doens't seem to react to 'width = x "
Can anyone help me increase the width of the scroll bars?
thanks!OK, this is because in a search item you can use as many wildcards as you like: 'A%b%cdef%'.
If you want to restrict the maximum length, you need to make a custom template for findTextInput.vm and add the following macro:
#ITEM_MAXIMUM_LENGTH()

How to change the width of the scrollbar
how to change the width of the scrollbar,
I wanted to have a large scrollbar in all controls (for a touch screen app lets say) then is that possible?

AS3 - change width of ScrollBar / ScrollPane's scrollbar
Is there any way to change the width of the AS3 scrollbar
component? I've tried changing the width of the skin, but it always
snaps to the default width.I'm not sure if the original poster found an answer for this
one, but I thought I'd post this link here, as I found the answer
to this question astoundingly difficult to find
http://www.gskinner.com/blog/archives/2007/05/variable_scroll.html
Basically, you need to download the new class definition
gskinner has written and let it override the adobe provided ones.
This new class gives you some more styles to control scrollbar
width and arrow height. -
Width of vertical scrollbar on multicolumn listbox
I am working on a touchscreen enabled user interface and need to "übersize" all the controls for fat-fingered individuals such as myself. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to widen the vertical scrollbar and make the change permanent. I can adjust the width customizing the control and everything is great... Until I close the .vi and reopen it. Then the scrollbar width reverts back to its normal skinny self. I've tried making the custom control a typedef, but it doesn't help. How do I make this change stick?
Thank you,
GregGreg,
I've just modified a MCLB's scroll bar width (customising the control) as you describe, saved the VI, then reopened the VI...
With LV 7.0 the customised control stays modified - fine.
With LV 8.0 the reloaded customisation of the control is "erroneous" - it appears that instead of reloading with the scroll bar wider, it reloads with the scroll bar normal but with the central object area box expanded to meet the scroll bar (or something like that).
There has to be a problem there with LV version 8 - I think you should get on to NI support and report this issue.

Change the size of Scrollbar in JComboBox
Hello,
I want to change the width of Scrollbar that appears in JComboBox....any idea?Swing related questions should be posted in the Swing forum.
You might be able to use the following. If it does work it would be for all scrollbars in your application:
UIManager.put("ScrollBar.width", new Integer(...)); -

Hi there.
I've got a prolem. I have skinned scrollbar, and it works
pretty well on TextArea etc
The only issue I've discovered is that some lists (ex.
DataGrid) will not redraw correctly according to the scrollbar
width until the first time the user interacts with them. The width
of it is way too big, background is white (while i have grey), and
it collides with DataGrid header.
Does anybody know any solution for this problem?Found a solution...
Set up columnWidth property to 0, and (if you're using CSS)
DataGridBase colors to the same as for the DataGrid.
Works fine for me. -
Hi all
My LabVIEW application works fine in Windows and Linux environment.
Some Listbox and Textbox need a larger scrollbar, beacause of the use of touchscreen.
Using Control Editor, scrollbar can be enlarged for both environment (linux , Win), but the change is not saved and don't works.
For Windows we change scrollbar width in Desktop Advanced Properties.
For Linux we have succesfully changed scrollbar thickness of the Theme in use (GNOME) but our scrollbars in our application don't change.
I have tried creating the .Xdefaults file with the following row inside
*Scrollbar.thickness: 32
but is unsuccessful.
Someone can help me?Hello paracarro!
First of all I would like to thank you for posting your query in this forum!
In order to find a solution to your problem, i fell onto this knowledge base article that I hope you will find useful!
Take a look at it, it is an interesting solution!
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/82C0B021A14F118D86257141004BA97E?OpenDocument
The vi that is contained in the tablescroll.zip uses boolean buttons instead of a scrollbar.
In this way you lose a bit of scroball utility since there is no bar implementation for -fast up- and -fast down- but it might help you in your work!
I hope you find this article helpful!
Let me know if everything went fine!

Creating a link in a PDF form to open into a new window
I have created the PDF form and every thing seems to be working fine. But I would like to set a link in the form that would open into a separate page. I have tried target="_blank" and onclick="window.open(this.href, 'child', 'scrollbars,width=650,height=600'); return false" with no success. Can someone give me some direction on how to create a link within a PDF form that will open into a new window?
Try this, using JavaScript:
app.launchURL("http://www.adobe.com",true); -
Session problem in a new window created by window.open()
hello,
I have a drugsearch.jsp page, I sessioned an durgCollection object on this jsp page using session.setAttribute("drugCollection",drugCollection);
there is a link on this jsp which will call a javascript to open a new window .
here is the javascript to open another new window:
function openReportWindow()
window.open("/drug/Report.jsp","report", "toolbar,scrollbars,width=800,height=800,left=100,top=10");
but in the Report.jsp, I won't be able to get the same session object as in the calling jsp ( drugsearch.jsp) by calling session.getAttribute("drugCollection").
if I change the link on drugsearch.jsp to link to the Report.jsp directly instead of opening a new window, then I can get the same session object from the Report.jsp.
what's the problem? can someone give me an advice?
thanksA session is assosiated with one client(browser).
when you open a new browser, a new session is created. In order to have common place for both the browsers, try storing the data in the 'Servlet Context' -
Slow urxvt launching after system migration
Hi everyone!
I've just migrated my arch system to a new computer (I kept my home partition and backed up pacman's cache and /etc as well as a list of packages installed). I manually installed the main packages needed to set up my system, I didn't re install secondary software yet. However I'm having trouble with urxvt, it takes a few seconds to launch whereas before the migration it would just inmediatly appear. I'm using my old .bashrc and .Xresources, so the configuration is the same as before, also Xterm for example has no problem so it appears to be no problem with .bashrc... Based on what I've read it could be due to font loading, however I have no idea what my previous font configuration actually means:
URxvt.font: -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--15-140-75-75-c-90-iso8859-1
URxvt.boldFont: -misc-fixed-bold-r-normal--15-140-75-75-c-90-iso8859-1
I must have copied that from some example or something and I don't know what it actually does...
Nevertheless, if I comment that out from .Xresources, it changes the font used, but it still takes a few seconds to load...
Anyway, any help is apreciatted, just for reference my .bashrc and .Xresources:
