Scrolling Current Date in dashboard

Hi Experts,
I would like to scroll current date on my dashboard.
Something like this
"Dashboard is undergoing maintenance as of mm/dd/yyyy, please bear with us for any inconvenience"
Can someone please point me out the direction to do so.

Hi,
Take any date column in the criteria and in that column formula fx write the following formula case when 1=0 then date column else current_date end go to narrative view
check the contains html markup check box
write the following in narrative *<marquee>@1</marquee>* thats it
show only narrative view in the dashboard

Data and Dashboard Security using ROLES Variable in OBIEE 11g

Hi all,
I'm currently using OBIEE 11g. I'm wondering how to implement the security for data and dashboard in the 11g.
Below is the sample of how the security matrix requirement when I use the 10g version. In 10g, we usually use GROUP (for the data filter in RPD) and WEBGROUPS (for dashboard objects) variables in my initialization block to read from database. As we have 2 different variables, it is possible to control security separately for data and dashboard.

Now, in 11g, the recommendation is to use ROLES variable (for application role). So, how would I apply the required security matrix above in 11g using just ROLES variable? Do I still create G1, G2, G3, WG1, WG2, and WG3 as application roles then only use G1-3 in the RPD to filter the data and only use WG1-3 in the analytics to serve as webgroups?

I mean that role creation and user->role assignment will be managed outside of to the obiee interface - whether that's via the database, LDAP, fmw etc.
Webgroup creation and assignment is managed within the obiee interface and I think that has a lot of benefits - generally you have people responsible for shared folders and dashboard creation, so having them responsible for webgroups and presentation permissions is preferable for me.

Yes .. I'm assuming you have something like

Which becomes
R1 | US
R2 | FR

R5 | Marketing
R6 | Sales
And John belongs to R1 and R4, Fred belongs to R2 and R4 etc. So you would set your data filters against R1-R3 and use R4-R6 like webgroups in the presentation services.

How do I add a current date to a form field so that it will give me the current date each time it is opened?

I have adobe 9 pro. I am currently adding fields to a document and would like my date field to display the current date when the document is opened so that the user does not have to enter the date each time. How do I do that?

go to edit your dashboard prompt-->edit you date prompt column-->expand option -->set Default selection as SQL Results-->Enter a SQL statement to generate the list of values
SELECT case when 1=0 then "tablename"."columname" else timestampadd(sql_tsi_day, -1, current_date) end FROM "subject area name"
E.x:
SELECT case when 1=0 then "Time"."Calendar Date" else timestampadd(sql_tsi_day, -1, current_date) end FROM "Sample Sales Lite"
this will return current date - 1 date values.

Showing "current date - 8 hours" automatically

Hi,
For a report, I want to create two dashboard prompts. The second one should show the current date, and the first one should be "current date - 8 hours" automatically. For example;
1. 5/11/2007 3:52:04 AM
2. 5/11/2007 11:52:04 AM
I can create the second one following these steps;
“default to > variable expression” --> “@{system.currentTime}[dd/MM/yyyy hh:mm:ss]”
What about the other? How can I create the first one?

Note that -- from SubjectAreaName where TableName.ColumnName = 'some-existing-value' -- needs to evaluate to true.

Create prompt with date-filter and initialize it with current date

I need to create dashboard prompt with date-filter and initialize it with current date. How can I do that?
I tried to create repository initialization block and add variable. But I don't know what should I write to DataSource? I tried to use functions Now(), Current_Date, sysdate (for example, SELECT Now() FROM tbl_Calendar) but without results - when I pressed "Test..." button I got errors - something like "Now() is unknown function" or "Incorrect syntax near key word Current_Date".
After that I tied to use Presentation Variable in Prompt, but also without success ((

I've created Repository Variable "CurrentDate", using SQL-query like this "select convert(varchar(10), getdate(), 104)" and now this variable is being initialized by value "07.04.2011". But I don't understand how to use this varible in DashboardPrompt! What item in list "Default selection" I should choose - "Variable Expression", "Server Variable" or something else? When I chose "Variable Expression" and write "CurrentDate" I got just string "CurrentDate" when preview Prompt. @{CurrentDate} gave me the same result.

HT203066 Health App keeps resetting data and dashboard view

Health up on my iPhone 5s (iOS v8.1.2) keeps resetting the data and dashboard views:
- when I enter data in the 'Me' tab (Birthdate, Sex, Blood type), the data keeps disappearing when opening the application again
- adding a dashboard (i.e. 'Weight') the dashboard shows (with no values) and disappears again
- adding a data point in any dashboard manually does not show.
Also - I am using MyFitness Pal & Withings Health App - no data is showing.
I recently re-installed the phone as new (couple of weeks ago), I re-installed the third party apps (and deleted all data when asked)
Any hints, pointers?

I'm having the exact same problem. I've even tried:
1. Turn off all syncing by theirs-party sources.
2. Delete all third-party apps that might sync data so that the Health App "Sources" list is empty
3. Reset all settings on the phone.
4. Reload third-party apps one by one
5. Selectively turn on syncing by third-party apps and only sync categories I really want to see.
All to no avail. The Health App crashes constantly and when trying to input data into third-party apps, those apps will crash also.
I'm currently trying to sync data with:
UP by Jawbone (UP24)
Withings HealthMate (Withings WiFi scale)
MyFitnessPal
Runtastic
Nike+

Can't see the square outlining the current date in iCal

I can't (or barely) see the square outlining the current date in iCal. Why?? What to do?? I use OSX 10.6.8.

Are you talking about the calendar widget? If so, hit F12 to bring up the widget you have running. Next click the + sign at the bottom left corner. Scroll through the widgets and look for iCal and click it. I hope this helps.

Current date of birth for my column is null getting error....

What datatype is cust_dob datatype. Somehow I have a feeling it is DATE. If so, expression:
to_date(cust_dob, 'dd/mm/yyyy')Implicitly converts cust_dob to a string using session nls_date_format and then converts it back to date using 'dd/mm/yyyy' format. Now if NULL dob are fetched first, you might get something like:

Save Selection w/ Current Date

We have a dashboard prompt that has the business unit and the current date, among other fields. We need to set the business unit as a default saved selection for a group of users. The problem is, the date is also saved in the selection instead of defaulting to the current date. Is there a way around this—to set a saved selection for the business unit, but not the current date?

This script *shows the created date of a file*. Maybe you can do something with it. With a small change it get the date from the finder add adds it to the file.

Historic and Current data for Master data bearing objects

We are trying to implement type 2 dimensions for all the master data bearing characteristics, where we require historic and current data available for reporting. the master data can have a number of attributes and all of them can be time dependent. We are not getting any 'datefrom' or 'dateto' from the source system.
For example:
For Example: The table below shows data entering BI at different dates.
Source Data day of entering BI
MasterID ATTR1 ATTR2
123506 Y REWAR day1
123506 N REWAR day4
123506 Y ADJUST day4
123506 N ADJUST dayn
The field 'day of entry into BI' is only for your understanding; we do not get any date fields from the source. SID is the field we are generating for uniqueness. It is a counter. EFF_DATE would be the current date for all the data. EXP_DATE would be 31.12.9999 until the attributes change. SID and MasterID together would be the key.
On day 1 the following data enters BI,
day 1
SID MasterID ATTR1 ATTR2 EFF_DATE EXP_DATE
1 123506 Y REWAR 2/10/2009 12/31/9999
On day 4, 2 data records enter with same PID,
SID MasterID ATTR1 ATTR2 EFF_DATE EXP_DATE

the EXP_DATE of the record of day 1 needs to be changed to current date.

so you will get P-table as

How to show current date in a column of dimension table in ssas

I have 2 dimension tables (ALLWORK and YOURWORK) and 1 measure table (STATS). In ALLWORK dim table, I have 4 columns, one of them is END_DATE. Based on END_DATE and current date I want to create a named calculation field. To achieve this, I
want to show the current date in 5th column (of ALLWORK dim table) as calculated member (as named calculation wont show me correct date).
Problem is, I am not able to create the column in the dimension table. While creating the calculated member, I am not able to select the ALLWORK dimension table, it always selects MEASURE by default. Please help.

In data source view, we can add named calculation to your table. A named calculation is a SQL expression represented as a calculated column. This expression appears and behaves as a column in the table. A named calculation lets you extend the relational
schema of existing tables or views in a data source view without modifying the tables or views in the underlying data source.

How to Get Current Date from MS Access in a Select Statement

From a java method, I want to use JDBC to get the current date from MS Access. In Oracle I would do "select sysdate from dual", but I can't figure out how to do it in MS Access. Here are some of my attempts. I have a table in my Access db called PARM.

Why are you getting it as a String? You should be getting it as a timestamp.
Although getString works for me too. There is something else wrong that you haven't shown.
Here is some shoddy, but simple, test code that demonstrates it working.

Odd Date for Current Date and Time

I am modifying a column in a list to get current date and time using =TODAY()+NOW() in the calculated field and get a time that is behind by 1 hour but the date is 4 months 114 years ahead (2128). How can I fix this field?
