SDK v3.0 Compatible with 2.4

Just starting to look into LR plug-in work.
I'm still on LR v2.4.
My question is whether the currently available SDK 3.0 for LR would be backwards compatible with LR 2.4, or do I need a 2.x SDK (and if so, where could I find that).

Ed.Macke wrote:
Thanks. That makes it as clear as mud Not your explanation, but rather how the SDK works.
You're welcome. And, I agree it is confusing.
Ed.Macke wrote:
So if I want a plug-in that will work for 2.0 and 3.0, would the safest option be to specify 2.0 for both the minimum SDK and other version?
Yes. The only reason to specify 3.0 as the SDK would be to use functions only available in SDK 3.0.
Ed.Macke wrote:
Right now, I'm just developing plug-ins for my own personal use, so running only LR 2.4 is my only concern.
However, I want to make sure I don't "paint myself into a corner" when/if I upgrade to LR 3.x, or release my plug-in to the world and want to support both versions.
There are two issues: SDK compatibility, and Lightroom compatibility. For instance, some things need to be done in a task in Lr3 that did not need to be in Lr2, regardless of which SDK minimum/other versions you are using.
So, in your case, the thing to do is set both versions to 2.0, then learn how Lr3 is different when the time comes. Most simple 2.0 plugins will work in Lr3 without changing a thing. Most complex plugins will require "re-integration"...
PS - Although confusing, I think Eric Scouten, for the most part, has done an outstanding job in being able to support old plugins on new versions of Lightroom.  Although some things are different and not backward compatible, there is usually a semi-intelligible message/hint that will allow you to figure out what to do. And, of course, there is this forum...

  • Is Adobe FLash builder 4.7 compatible with flex sdk 3.5?

Is Adobe FLash builder 4.7 compatible with flex sdk 3.5?

Kind of.  I never actually solved the bug, but I did make it past the install.
Upon running Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 Plug-in Installer it appeared to crash and only load a blank screen with a single unclickable button.  It wasn't actually "hanging", and would react when I clicked on the program menu and moused over "Services".  This would allow my clicks and keystrokes to register with the program, but only after I mouse over the "Services" menu item.  For example, you need to click "okay", then mouse over "Services".  When you want to enter text you need to click in the text box, and mouse over "Services".  Then you need to type the text you want, and mouse over "Services" to see the text appear.  It's a PITA, but you can get through the install by doing this.
After installing the FB plug-in starting eclipse with editors open appeared to cause errors.  If this happens, this is because it seems that FB attempts to load when eclipse starts up.  Close all editors and restart eclipse.  The Welcome page for FB may pop open up.  At the bottom there is a check box that will keep that form loading - check it.  If the page does not open when eclipse starts, then open up an MXML file.  The Welcome page should load, and you can check the box.
I hope this helps you move forward.  Also, if you find an actual solution please let me know.

  • Is there a way I can use Catalyst to create my custom flex components but make compatible with 3.5

I am new to Catalyst and looking for a way to create components in Catalyst to be compatible with an existing application created in SDK 3.5.
I am working on a project for a client to reskin an existing flex application done in SDK 3.5, but they are not ready to migrate yet to SDK 4.0.
I really want ot use Catalyst to create some custom components for the new style of this existing application, but the problem is the that the spark component architecture and the old version 3.5 are not compatible. Is there a way around this until they are ready to migrate to 4.0 or will I have to create my components in flash and bring them into flashbuilder with a swc this way instead? What would be the best approach for me at this point, please help?

No. Flash Catalyst leverages the new component framework that was introduced in 4.0 (aka Spark). Flex 3.5 and earlier used a framework (referred to as MX or Halo). That framework is incompatible with Flash Catalyst.

Is J2EE compatible with Windows server 2003? Whenever I try to install it says its not compatible, and the sun site only mention XP and 2000 Advanced Server.
Does anyone use J2EE on win2k3server? Which version do you use?

Which J2EE version are you trying to install and where did you download it from? J2EE 1.4 SDK should install and run on Windows 2003. At what point in installation exactly are you getting this message?

  • SB-Messaging and service bus DLL within BTS seems not compatible with Cloud

I am trying to retreive a message from a Queue in azure service bus. The receive location gets disabled after 5 seconds of enabling it. The error message is :
The receive location "rlFromFireQueue" with URL "sb://muazure.servicebus.windows.net/firealertqueue" is shutting down. Details:"System.InvalidOperationException: This client is not supported for a partitioned entity. The client version
should be greater or equal than version '2013-10'..8653aa96-4c37-4ee1-8be8-52f2e9702ee0_G2_G2 ---> System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[System.ServiceModel.ExceptionDetail]: This client is not supported for a partitioned entity. The client version should
be greater or equal than version '2013-10'..8653aa96-4c37-4ee1-8be8-52f2e9702ee0_G2_G2
I had the same exact issue when I was using an old .Net console application which was using microsft.servicebus.dll version 2.1. I downloaded the 2.4 azure sdk and ran setup. After replacing the reference in my console project to the new version I was able
to send messages to my queue.
My BTS box is 2013 R2 (upgraded from 2013), I checked the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013, I noticed that the Microsoft.ServiceBus.dll in this directory is version 2.1 which according to a thread in blog is not compatible
to a new property introduced since last summer ( clients will be updated to support partitioned entities) when creating a new queue using Quick Create.
So my question is : How can I update the SB-MESSAGING adapter to use a new version to be compatible with this improvments in Azure or more clearly is there any config or procedures to be done to make the bTS 2013R2 adapter compatible with Azure service bus
    partioning feature
For your reference, here is the url for the blog where I found the information
    http://mindovermessaging.com/2014/06/21/service-bus-queuetopic-partitioning-not-supported-in-biztalk-services/
    Thanks in advance

I'm afraid you wont be able to update the SB-Messaging adapter because the partitioning option is not supported.
    However you have an alternative:
You can try using a WCF-Custom port with netMessagingTransport binding. This should be tested, because I'm not 100% sure it supports the partitioning feature. However all necessary features are working because we are using this setup at a current integration
    project.
Also be sure to check Paolo's blog for all the necessary information regarding configuration and setup: http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsazure/How-to-integrate-BizTalk-f0195690

  • Existing Actions and Plugins Compatible with Photoshop CS5?

I have actions and plug-in products, and while I've done everything I can to make them future-proof, I'm wondering if any Photoshop CS5 beta testers can speak to whether existing actions and plugins are generally compatible with Photoshop CS5?
    Specifically:
Are existing 32 bit Windows (PC) plugins proving to be compatible with Photoshop CS5?
Are existing 64 bit Windows (PC) plugins proving to be compatible with Photoshop CS5?
Are existing actions (both platforms) proving to be compatible with Photoshop CS5?
I'm anxiously awaiting the go-ahead to download my copy to verify everything, but I'm just trying to get a feel for whether I'll have work to do.  I'm hoping for the level of compatibility seen in CS3 and CS4 - all my software worked perfectly with no changes.
    Thanks.

I appreciate you all taking the time to answer, but none of you has actually said what DOES happen with your existing actions / plugins and CS5 beta.
I know that experience with one set of actions and plugins doesn't guarantee operation with another, but if, for example, someone actually stated, "all my old plugins failed to work with CS5" or "they all seemed to work okay" then I'd have a better idea of what to expect.
Please keep in mind I've been developing commercial actions since PS6 and plugins since CS2, and all my software works on all 32 bit versions and 64 bit CS4 on Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64, so I'm intimately familiar with what might happen and what should happen.  Plus I've programmed them to be quite resilient, and I don't expect any of the CS5 feature changes to break them.  What I don't know is whether Adobe has fundamentally altered the plugin interface this time around, or has deprecated any old filters, causing a plugin or action that used to work to fail now.  The word "rewrite" has been used to describe CS5, and that has me wondering.
In short, I'm really looking for actual experience with the CS5 beta here.
Wish I could get the CS5 SDK already.  I don't understdand why Adobe doesn't release that in advance.
    Thanks.

  • Inner Exception The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle

I am using the 64 bit ODP and Net 2.0 SDK in a C# program which runs standalone and is also hosted by another win32 process.
When running standalone it works ok. But when being hosted by another process, I get the following exceptions thrown when i create a connection:
INFO 2007-01-10 12:38:26,843 265ms frmCCMain LogMessage - Exception During Batch Processing1: [The type initializer for 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection' threw an exception.]
INFO 2007-01-10 12:38:26,843 265ms frmCCMain LogMessage - Inner Exception The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client
I checked the DllPath value under the ODP.NET key and it points to the directory where OraOps10w.dll is installed. I also tried copying that Dll into the host process working directory and searched and found no other versions of that DLL.

Yes, this sounds like you may be using the 9.2 client with ODP.NET and ASP.NET Providers for 11g. Usually, you can stop and start IIS to resolve this. IIS will then pick up that the 11g client directory is first in the Windows PATH, ahead of the 9.2 client directory, then use that for any subsequent Oracle client calls.

  • Is the Intel I340-T4 Ethernet card compatible with LabView 8.6?

We are currently looking in to having our LabView program process the output of two Allied Vision cameras, run through a PCI GigE card.
On our old machine (32-bit Vista), we have a PRO/1000 PT Quad working just fine with the LabView interface - and we want to upgrade to a better PC with 64-bit Win 7.
We are under the impression that PRO/1000 PT is not compatible with Win 7, and were looking into either I340 quad-port adapters:
    http://ark.intel.com/products/49186/Intel-Ethernet-Server-Adapter-I340-T4
Does anyone have any insight as to the compatibilities of the Intel 82580 controllers with LabView 8.6?

    Hi Civa,
Scott here from AVT technical support.   You are correct re. that PT card not being Win7 compatible.  Here's a link to our current recommendations for NICs and switches.
    http://www.alliedvisiontec.com/fileadmin/content/PDF/Support/Application_Notes/Hardware_Selection_fo...
If it's NOT in that list, it doesn't mean it won't work, merely that we haven't tested it and do not know.  We do not attempt to test every 3rd party product on the market.
And our testing is typical with AVT SDKs not with Labview, though there are thousands of joint AVT / NI customers, and we'd have heard by now if there were any conflicts, I am confident.
    Regards,
    Scott

  • Can't install Xcode 3 - "Could not reload Installer.app to be compatible with required install plugins."

Hello all, I can't install Xcode 3.2.6 on a fresh Lion install (created with a bootable flash drive from burning InstallESD.dmg to a FD w/ Disk Utility). I get the following popup message:
"Could not reload Installer.app to be compatible with required install plugins."
I'd rather not have to move to Xcode 4 and spend the time re-orienting myself with the interface. I also don't want any of my projects to break. Has anyone encountered this message before?
I'm running a 2010 13" MacBook Pro, 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo, fresh install of 10.7 onto an Intel SSD, HDD in the optical bay. Thoughts?

I run Xcode 3 on another MBP (Early '08 15") running Lion, and everything works just fine. I had it working under Snow Leopard, updated to Lion, no problems. On this other one, I can't get it to install at all.
Xcode 3 will work just fine with the iOS SDK under Lion, which is what I'm working with.

  • Are AIR touch apps compatibles with the Samsung SUR40 ?

We are planning to develop a multitouch AIR application (AIR 3.2 SDK) for our client.
This application will be deployed for an interactive table inside a show room.
We are particularly interested in buying the Samsung SUR40 (os : Windows® 7 Professional for Embedded Systems x64).
Can Adobe confirm that AIR developement is compatible with this table or do we have to use the Microsoft Surface SDK to reach good performances ?
    Thanks,
    Flo

    Hi,
I can also confirm that Flash AIR runs perfectly fine on the Samsung SUR40. Although I only got it to run when running in regular win7 mode. Haven't got it running from the Surface mode yet. But even in regular win7 mode you can use flash.ui.Multitouch and get access to up to 50 simultaneous touchpoints.... It's awesome!
