For this I need one solution..(select query). If I give table name and column value...Can I get which column having that perticular value ? is it possible? I have huge no.of tables and each table having so many columns. It takes lot of time for searching a column value for each and every table and columns. please provide me a nice solution.

• How Can I get multi column values from dynamic search help?

Hi Gurus;
I'm using dynamic search help in my program.
I want to get multi column values from search help. But I dont know solution for this issue.
I'm using F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST FM.
How Can I get multi column values from dynamic search help?
Thanks.

Believe it or not, the same FM worked for me in a dynpro. I will try to explain here how it works in custom screen and then you can do your work for other screens or program types. I am not going to write my actual work but will explain in general.
I have 4 fields (FLD1, FLD2, FLD3, FLD4) and i made the search based on FLD2 and when user click on a line (could be any field), then this would bring the line on to the screens.
There are like 3 steps.
You have your value_tab for my fields FLD1, FLD2, FLD3 and FLD4. This is just the data that we pass into the FM. (data: IT_VALTAB type table of ZVAL_TABLE)
Next map the screen fields into an internal table (data: It_dynpfld type table of dselc ). I also have other internal tables defined (just to keep it straight, i will be putting here) data: It_return type standard table of ddshretval.
Next step is to call the function module. Make sure you have values in IT_VALTAB.
call function 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
exporting
retfield        = 'FLD2'
value_org       = 'S'
tables
value_tab       = It_VALTAB
return_tab      = It_return

else.
perform get_selected_fields tables It_return.
endif.
The code within the perform GET_SELECTED_FIELDS - We need to map the result fields after user selects it. The code goes like this. This is step is to update the dynpro fields.
I need a internal table as well as a work area here. like,
data: lt_fields type table of dynpread,
la_fields type dynpread.
field-symbols: <fs_return> type ddshretval.
so fill out LT_FIELDS from the IT_RETURN table
loop at lt_return assigning <fs_return>.
la_fields-fieldname = <fs_return>-retfield.
la_fields-fieldvalue = <fs_return>-fieldval.
append la_fields to lt_fields.
clear: la_fields.
endloop.
Call the FM to update the dynpro
call function 'DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE'
exporting
dyname               = sy-repid

I want to input two values, AWG and mils and return the value in the Days column.
In the instance of what I am showing .... AWG=2 AND mils=320 so Soak=110 ....
I want to search the columns (AWG) AND (mils) to return a value in the column (Days) for that row into cell H10 (Soak) ...
So far I have toyed with LOOKUP, INDEX and MATCH ....

SCW,
I'm sure there is a clever way to cascade functions to avoid adding an auxiliary column in your practice table, but to me it wouldn't be worth the aggravation. I would add a column that concatenates Columns A & B, AWG & mils. This column can be anywhere and would be Hidden. Let's say your new column is Column N.
In Column N, fill the body rows with:
=A&"-"&B
As good Numbers programming form would indicate, let's name the Practice Table Practices and only put the practices in that table. In another table where you do the lookup, let's call it Program, we will have the calculation/lookup.
Based on your example, I'd guess that AWG may be in Column D and mils in Column E of your Program table, and the Soak lookup in Column F. If I'm wrong, adjust the column id.
In Column F, write:
=OFFSET(Practices::I$1,MATCH(D&"-"&E, Practices::N,0)−1, 0)
The hyphen in the concatenated representation of the combination of AWG and mils is just tp make it more readable.
As I'm sure you know, you could use other approaches, but since I had you put your aux column at the end of your Practices table, OFFSET with MATCH is a clean approach. INDEX could be used too.
Here's an illustration:

• Content Search Query Builder - filtering for custom column value

I want to use a CSWP to display certain pages in a slideshow format on a site. However, to filter them in a preferred manner, the pages library has a custom column "Spotlight" which is a Boolean type (e.g. yes/no).
In my "Build Your Query" configuration page, I have added a keyword filter "SpotlightOWSBOOL=Yes" as the criteria to display my results. This is not working, despite the fact that I currently have pages flagged as "Spotlight"
in this library.
My question is - how can I achieve this result of displaying only pages with a custom column value "Spotlight" as "Yes"?

Hi Owen,
Could you capture a screenshot about your Crawled Property for your list column "Spotlight"? Is it name "SpotlightOWSBOOL"?
If your library column name is "Spotlight", you can create a custom
Manged Property (e.g. create name as SpotlightMangedProperty)to map the
Crawled Propery (e.g. may ows_spotlight, or ows_SpotlightOWSBOOL?) genegrated by list column "Spotlight", then start a full crawl.
Then you can add the keyword filter like below in "Build Your Query" dialog of CSWP web part, then check if the correct items are filtered.
SpotlightMangedProperty:"yes"
If the above value "yes" doesn't work, please also try
SpotlightMangedProperty:"True", or try SpotlightMangedProperty:1

• How to tell if column value has changed for use in workflow actions

Hello,
I am using Sharepoint 2010 and for one of my Lists, I am using a general list workflow. What I need to be able to do is determine if a column value has change (say an "Assigned To" field) because I only want to take some action if that particular
value has changed. I want to be able to have a workflow action that would be something like:
If Current Item: Assigned To not equals [OLD VALUE]
I have found some web searches that talk about creating a duplicate list or duplicate (but hidden) column but that doesn't seem to be the way to go. I have document versioning set but don't if that can be used to help with this. One possible
thought (although I haven't tried it to see if it works) is to create local variables and have the values in the variables be the "old value". Just not sure if there is a best practices for doing this.
Thanks for any thoughts - Peter

Helen,
Not sure I fully understand your goal. We don't use "tasks" at all but if you are looking to have your workflow check certain valus and be able to send email messages to people based on whatever, then you can certainly do that (as long as your Sharepoint
has the email setup. We do this for alot of workflow tasks.
So, in the workflow you can have a blanket statement like what I previously listed:
if Current Item:hiddenStatus not equals Current Item:Status
.... do something
or you can do something like:
if Current Item:hiddenStatus equals "In-Progress"
.... do something
Else if Current Item:hiddenStatus equals "Completed"
.... do something
or combine the two and do nested "if" statements. Then you add an email statement wherever you need it like:
if Current Item:hiddenStatus  equals "Completed"
then email "these users"
To add the email part, just type in "email" on the line where you want to add a statment. There is only one option to choose from. That will display the line "then email these users". The "these users" will be a link. When you
click it you will get a popup to add the email info. We typically will send the email to a user (or users) that are already listed in one of the PeoplePicker fields. On the email form, you can type in your own text, designate that a value is based
on a column value (like our PeoplePicker), designate that a value is based on a workflow variable, add a link to the current item, etc. To get to these options you will click the button to the right of the fields or use the "Add or Change Lookup" button
in the bottom-left for the text area. There is alot you can set in the mail.
Does this help answer your question?

• Column values in Caps

Hi All,
Database : 11g
Is it possible to store particular column value in Caps? if user issues insert statements with lower case, is there any way to store it in upper case by default?
I have searched if there is any column defaults available while creating table itself, but could not find any useful results.
Because it is impossible to predict whether user issues insert statement with value for column in lower case or upper case.
I do not have any application to control it.
Regards,
SK

Hi,
SK wrote:
Is trigger only the way to control it? In my case, there may be huge number of insert statements to be executed. It will be collected from different users. As I told I do not have any application to control it. For every insert if trigger gets fired, process might get slow. It would be good if there is any alternative solution if any one knows.Sorry, if users are writing their own INSERT (or UPDATE or MERGE) statements, then a trigger is the only way to guarantee that the column always gets capitalized. You can make the trigger fire only when the relevant column is changed.
If you have a CHECK constraint in the table (whcih is a good idea, even if you have a trigger), then DML statements that try to put lower-case letters in that column will fail. This puts the burden on the users to call UPPER in their own code.
You could store the data in mixed-case, but display it using UPPER in a view (or, starting in Oracle 11, add a virtual coumn to the table). If you want to search on hte capitalized string, you can use a function-based index. (Oracle 11 virtual columns can be indexed.)
Using UPPER in a view will make queiries slower, but it will not make DML slower.

• Changing the column value

Hi,
I have to change the column values in a table. The values in the column are to be updated.
For e.g. If the old value is
"xxxxxxxxxx", I need to take that and update into "xxxyyyxxxx".
The column values is so long as its a description field, so its a combination of many other table fields. Its just I need to add one more field.
How can I do that? Any help appreciated.
Thanks

See this:

I use the SUBSTR and LENGTH function to place SUBCOMPONENT value between COMPONENT value and YEAR value. That's how I done it:

Agency Subtype1, Agency Subtype2 are subtypes - Which comes from Column: Agency Subtype
I took a dummy column from subject area. Converted the Prompt to Sql Results and wrote the following condition.
Select Agency_type from Agency where Agency Type in (Agency Type1, Agency Type2)
union
Select Agency_subtype from Agency Where Agency subtype in (Agency Subtype1, Agency Subtype2)
Now, My Prompt is showing correct values.
And, My Report has following columns: Agency Id, Agency Name, Agency Type, Agency Subtype (Agency Type is prompted or Agency Subtype is prompted)
Now, My Prompt and Report not reflects properly as i need to use multi select for prompts
If, i'm using drop down and storing the values in presentation variable and saying that
Agency Type = pv1 (Presen. variable1) default a
or
Agency Subtype = pv1 (presen. variable1) default a
Then, it works.
But, I need Multi select prompt. And, i cannot use p.v for multi select.
How to acheive the above functionality.
Experts, Please guide me.....

If I'm Using And Condition it fails.
Because,
Say I have Types as - Type1, Type2
Say I have Subtypes as - Subtype1, subtype2, subtype3
Type table
Type1, subtype1
Type1, subtype2
Type2, Subtype3
Now, if select prompt1 ( Prompt1 is prompted -> Type1 is prompted) ----> My report reflects for type1
if I Select prompt2 (Prompt2 is prompted -> Subtype3 is prompted) -----> My Report reflects for subtype3
If i use here And ----> it fails ( Type = Type1 and Subtype = Subtype3)
It should be Or ----> (Type = Type1 or Subtype = Subtype3) ----> this passes only when i select both values. But, my requirement is it should pass for even one selection.
It can be done for drill down and pres. variable. But, my requ. is multiselect.

• Search for column in all tables

I want to search for a column value(example instance_id=123456) in all the tables using one query rather than describing each table to find first if instance id exist and if so do a select from that table.

You could try some sort of variation of this:
DECLARE
value_of_interest    NUMBER := 12345;
vTable          ALL_TAB_COLS.TABLE_NAME%TYPE;
vExist          ALL_TAB_COLS.COLUMN_NAME%TYPE;
BEGIN
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(RPAD('TABLE',45,' ') || ' ' || 'EXISTS');
FOR rec in (SELECT TABLE_NAME FROM ALL_TAB_COLS WHERE COLUMN_NAME='INSTANCE_ID')
LOOP
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'SELECT ''' || rec.table_name || ''' AS TAB,DECODE(count(*),0,''NO'',''YES'') AS EXIST FROM '
||  rec.table_name
|| ' WHERE INSTANCE_ID=:value '
|| 'GROUP BY ''' || rec.table_name || '''' INTO vTable,vExist USING value_of_interest;
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(RPAD(vTable,45,' ') || ' ' || vExist);
END LOOP;
EXCEPTION
WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('No Results found!');
END;Please be aware this that has not been tested, and may have to be modified for your use.

• JQuery to search specific columns

Hi,
I am currently trying to implement a live filter on a sharepoint list. I was able to get it working using this following tutorial:
http://www.bentedder.com/create-a-jquery-sharepoint-instant-searchfilter/
The issue I am having is I only want the filter to search specific columns of my list instead of the whole row.
how would I modify the following to accomplish this?
$("#WebPartWPQ3").find("tr.ms-itmhover:not(:Contains("+txt+"))").hide();
$("#WebPartWPQ3").find("tr.ms-itmhover:Contains("+txt+")").show();
Thanks
Harry

Use the n-th child selector or eq operator to search against the specific column. You could hardcode this value or update the script to determine its position based on the header text.
E.g. Confine the search only to the second column in the row. (I haven't tested this)
$("#WebPartWPQ3").find("tr.ms-itmhover td.ms-vbtitle:eq(2):not(:Contains("+txt+"))").hide();
$("#WebPartWPQ3").find("tr.ms-itmhover td.ms-vbtitle:eq(2):Contains("+txt+")").show();
This post is my own opinion and does not necessarily reflect the opinion or view of Slalom.

• Italian lang. f4000_it.sql and error in *Insert column value* bad request

I've found an error in the italian translation file f4000_it.sql. At the 1137413th row is needed a point after *&SESSION.* in fact the original version is:
c1:=c1||'<a href="javascript:popUp2(''f?p=4000:411:&SESSION::::P411_CALLING_FIELD:#CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#'',320,400);" tabindex="999" title="Scegli colonna" class="itemlink">[Insert column value]</a>';
I've modified in:
c1:=c1||'<a href="javascript:popUp2(''f?p=4000:411:&SESSION.::::P411_CALLING_FIELD:#CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#'',320,400);" tabindex="999" title="Scegli colonna" class="itemlink">[Insert column value]</a>';
Now I can show in Column Formatting correctly when I search fields in Insert column value

Hi,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Bug 9888444 has been logged to track this issue. Please note that this issue impacts users running in French, Italian, Japanese and Korean. When you edit a Classic Report column in the Application Builder, the Column Formatting region holds an item "HTML Expression" with an associated shortcut [Insert column value]. When running in French, Italian, Japanese or Korean, when the user clicks on the shortcut link, the popup displays an error "Bad Request". The popup works for all other languages.
We do not recommend that users modify the APEX internal application files. Instead, you can workaround this issue by directly entering column values into the "HTML Expression" text area in the Column Formatting region on the Column Attributes page, similar to the following:
*#EMPNO#*
where EMPNO is a column on your report.

Hilary

• How to Rename the "All Column Values" in Propmt for 11 G.

Hello,
i have one Requirement where i have to change the "All Column values" label to custom label.
I know how to do in 10 g but as here in 11g the oracle directory structure is changed.
if anyone have idea how to do this?
Thanking you..

Hi Veer,
I think "kmsgPromptRunTimeDropdownAllChoices" is the identifier which will pick up this value from a messages file. Request you to search for this string in Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web folder's files if you can get one.
Hope this helps.
Thank you,
Dhar
