Search Help for Domain in Table View
Hi,
I have to give a search help for one column in a table view, and the values in the search help should come from a domain. I wrote this code, but it doesn't seem to work:
lv_str_index = iv_index.
CONDENSE lv_str_index.
CONCATENATE 'table[' lv_str_index '].OP1A' INTO ls_map-context_attr.
ls_map-f4_attr = 'OPERATOR'.
APPEND ls_map TO lt_inmap.
CREATE OBJECT rv_valuehelp_descriptor
TYPE
cl_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr
EXPORTING
iv_help_id = 'ZOPERATOR'
iv_help_id_kind = if_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr=>help_id_kind_dtel
iv_input_mapping = lt_inmap
iv_output_mapping = lt_outmap.
the ZOPERATOR is my domain. OP1A is the context attribute. I am actually not sure what to give for F4_ATTR.
Please help...
Thanks....
Hi
Instead of the Domain , use the Data Element which uses that particular Domain ZOPERATOR.
For Example ZDE_OPERATOR is the data element which uses the Domain ZOPERATOR.
then
lv_str_index = iv_index.
CONDENSE lv_str_index.
CONCATENATE 'table[' lv_str_index '].OP1A' INTO ls_map-context_attr.
ls_map-f4_attr = 'OPERATOR'.
APPEND ls_map TO lt_inmap.
CREATE OBJECT rv_valuehelp_descriptor
TYPE
cl_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr
EXPORTING
iv_help_id = 'ZDE_OPERATOR'
iv_help_id_kind = if_bsp_wd_valuehelp_f4descr=>help_id_kind_dtel
iv_input_mapping = lt_inmap
iv_output_mapping = lt_outmap.

Search Help for field on table maintenance generator ECC 6.0
Hi All.
To maintain search help for a custom field on table maintenance generator.
Only through coding.
Cannot use domain or data element or table field search helps.
Have to code only.
Is there any way?
Can I do modifications/additions to screen code and achieve this?
Regards,
Veeranji Reddy P.Scenarion:
1. table with 2 fields.
2. table maintenance generator.
3. Function group with one screen(0001-mentioned in table maintenance) created.
4. For one field on table maintenance generator...where we add new entries to table, i want a search help.
Conditions : only coding has to be done..no search helps I can use.
Coding where and what?
one option is to code on the screen 0001- either in PBO/PAI.
Is it a rite place...? or any other option? But no search helps as mentiond in my first message can be used.
Thanks and Regards,

Change search help for each line of a web dynpro table
Hi all i have got the following code to dynamically change the search help of a single field on a web dynpro app and was just wondering if anyone could show me the code for implementing it onto a table so that the same field on each row has a different search help assigned to it!
CALL METHOD node_info->set_attribute_value_help
EXPORTING
name = 'DEPT'
value_help_mode = '121'
value_help = 'PREMN'.
Regards
MartHi,
it is possible to have different search help for same table column for different context elements i.e. table lines. the way to acheive this is by using cell variants in table column.
Steps to follow:
1. In your table column insert cell variant. Depending upon number of variations for search help, insert that number of cell variants in table column
2. Enter the value of variant key property of each cell variant for ex. 01 for first cell variant and 02 for second cell variant
3. Insert cell editor for each of cell variant. for ex. if you have 2 different search helps for single column then insert two cell variant in table column and for each cell variant insert cell editor, let say input field in this case
4. Bind the value property of each input field to different context attribute of the node. for ex: you have table with two columns i.e. Dynamic and fldate
. First column is Dynamic. It will have two cell variants and each cell variant have cell editor of type input field i.e. depending upon the value of second column i.e. fldate, the search help of first column will be decided.
5. Create context node from structure "SFLIGHT" and select 3 components from structure i.e. Carrid, connid, fldate. Add another context attribute to same context node i.e. selected_cell_variant of type string
6. Bind each of context attribute carrid and coonid to value property of cell editor i.e. input field of cell vairaints from column Dynamic
7. Bind value property of cell editor i.e. input field of fldate column to context attribute fldate
8.. Bind selectedCellVariant property of table column Dynamic to context attribute selected_cell_variant
9. Now, Write method at the wddoinit of view to fill up the context node from table sflight table
10. Write event handler for event OnEnter of cell editor from table column FLDATE. in this event handler depnding upon the date set the value of context attribute "selected_cell_variant" to 01 or 02
DATA lv_date TYPE S_DATE.
ASSERT CONDITION context_element IS NOT INITIAL. " context_element is default paramter for event handler
context_element->get_attribute(
EXPORTING
name = 'FLDATE' " NAME
IMPORTING
value = lv_date " DATA
IF lv_date > '20101016'.
context_element->set_attribute(
EXPORTING
value = '01' " Attribute Value
name = 'SELECTED_CELL_VARIANT' " Web Dynpro: Name of Context Element
ELSE.
context_element->set_attribute(
EXPORTING
value = '02' " Attribute Value
name = 'SELECTED_CELL_VARIANT' " Web Dynpro: Name of Context Element
ENDIF.
11. Depending upon the value of selectedCellVariant the corresponding search help will show up in table column. So change the value of column fldate for each table row and see how search help gets changed.
Thanks,
Rahul

Create search helps for fields of custom tables
Hi,
Could any one please provide me the step by step process to create search helps for fields in custom tables?
Thanks in advance,
Nobin.Hello Nobin
There is basically no difference between a search help for standard vs. customer tables.
An important choise is the selection method for your search help:
Either you use your custom table, a view or a search help user-exit if you need to implement very specific requirements.
Assuming that you can use your DB table as selection method the further implementation of the search help is quite straightforward:
(1) Define the parameters you would like to have a selection criteria (SPos = SPos) and which should appear on the result list (= LPos).
(2) Define the parameters that can be used as input for the selection (flag IMP) and are returned by the search help (flag EXP)

Search help for a field using a selection method which has a text table.
Hello all,
I am trying to create a search help for one of the fields in a structure say RFCDEST. Now for this i am giving the selection method as the DB table where all the RFCDEST are maintained. However there is a text table which is also comes up for this selection method and the description of the filed RFCDEST is in that text table and the description is not stored in the main table which i specified as the selection method.
My query is that on F4 now all the rfc destinations are being shown however the description i am not able to show them because there is no field in the table specified in the selectionmethod which hold s the description but instead it is there in the text table, how can i fetch the description from there and display in the search help.
Warm Regards,
Naveen Mlook at search help FC_RFCDEST. that problem has already been solved with this search help.

Search Help for a Field of a Table Control
I have designed a screen using 'Table Control' with fields like Date, BoxNo,Quantity etc. Kindly tell me how to go about providing a search help for the field 'BoxNo' of this table control so that the user is not required to scroll down the entire table/list for selecting a particular box no.
Thanx in advance,
Alok.When you go to screen painer, in screen painter attributes window, there is an atribute called search help, fill it.
Another way is, after PAI put:
PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.
FIELD box_no MODULE f1_help_box_no.
And gives logic in that module using FM F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST.

FM to find Search help for a table field
Hello Colleagues,
is there any function module which would return the search help associated with a table field ?
I tried with the FM F4IF_DETERMINE_SEARCHHELP but it returns search help that is associated with either to table field DE or search helps associated with the value table fields. I need to find only
the search helps that are associated with a table field but not the value tables or fixed values.
For ex. If i pass table_name = 'SFLIGHT' and field_name='CARRID' then it should return me S_CARRIER_ID. but if i pass field_name='CONNID' then it should return nothing..
Best Regards, JVRHi Kishore,
Use the Function Modulein the F4 help associated with a table field ...
CALL FUNCTION ' HELP_VALUE_GET"
EXPORTING
fieldname = 'CARRID' "field name in the table you refer
tabname = 'SFLIGHT' "Table name
IMPORTING
select_value = S_CARRIER_ID. "Selected field

Dynamic search help for one field of the SM30 generated maintenance view
Hi experts,
I have one Z* table with three fields. For that table I have generated maintenance dialog in SE55 so I can now run the maintenance in SM30. My requirement is: as soon as a user enters a value for the first field, the search help for the second field should be depended on the value in the first field. Let's say when user entered value 01 into the first field then the search help for the second field should be S_HLP01. For other values entered into the first screen the search help for the second field should be S_HLP02. Both search helps are standard (the names differ).
Is there any change how to achieve this without making completely new dynpro transaction?Hi ,
You can try it this way.
pass your match-code( search help to function ) HELP_VALUES_GET_WITH_MATCHCODE and get the value and update it in your screen field.
But you have to modify the flow logic in POV event. it would be better if you create your own transaction because once the maintenance is regenerated your modified flow logic will vanish -
How to create search help for Maintanence View
Hi,
I want to create a Search Help for a Maintanence View and bring Conditions
in this Search Help. Condition can be as e.q. Show me only the Records with Status 2.
How can I achieve this?
Thanks.
Best Regards
Beserithan MalabakanHI,
You can create this in SE11, there create a search help, and in the Minatain Search HElp screen, give the Maintanance view name and give the field anmes as you want, and right side you will find 'Default Values', there you can give the default values, so here in the Field name give as <b>STATUS</b> and in the Defaule Value will be <b>2</b>.

Search help for a field in ztable
Good day everyone!
I want to create a search help for a field. I have a field 'country' in my Ztable. Now I want to create a search help for that field so that they appear in the SM30 transaction while entering the data into the table. How can I do that?
thanks.First of all if the field is country and you want to display all the countries avaiable in SAP in the search help then yuo dont need to create search help for that. For that field put the data element LAND1. The F4 help will automatically appear in SM30 and when you press F4 all the countries will be displayed in the hit list.
Now suppose there is a case where you want to display selected values only and not all the countries in your search help then one way is to create a z-table of countries and put all the countries you want in that table then create z-data element and z-domain for that country field and in domain give the table as a value table.
Another way is to create a view for T005 and T005T table and give the selection conditions as per your requirement and then create the search help with this view and attache the search help to your country field. -
Hi All!
I'm working with CRM2007 over WebClient.
I've enhaced a new Z field in a standard view with the Easy Enhacement Workbench (EEW) and I don't know how to make a Search Help. Can someone help me?
Best regards,
Alejandro.in CRM2007 you have a default method trying to build the search help for fields of a structure in a generic way (this method is GET_V_S_STRUCT and is inherited by all context nodes)
this method does in order:
- look for a specif search help (method GET_V_fieldname)
- if not found, tries to find Design Layer for the field
- if not found, looks for a value list in domain related to field
so if you field is defined based on a data domain having a list of fixed values (not a check table) then you will get the search help automatically
now if none of these three possibilities is available, then you have to create you own search help^.
This is done by creating the GET_V_fieldname method (you can copy existing method IF_BSP_WD_MODEL_SETTER_GETTER~_GET_V_XYZ so you are sure to have proper signature for your method)
in this method, you put this code:
data: lv_ddlb_threshold type i value '20', "0: DDLB n: 1-n:, DDLB >n: F4-Popup
ls_tabname type ddobjname,
ls_fieldname type fieldname,
lv_op type seocmpname,
lv_component type name_komp,
lv_call_search_help type boolean.
ls_tabname = me->base_entity_structure.
ls_fieldname = component.
rv_valuehelp_descriptor = cl_crm_uiu_md_valuehelp=>v_getter(
is_tabname = ls_tabname
is_fieldname = ls_fieldname
iv_index = iv_index
iv_ddlb_threshold = lv_ddlb_threshold ).
doing this, you will rely on search help as defined on your field (in table definition) and you will display a drop-down list if number of values is less or equal to 20, or a search help if number of values is greater than 20
