Search to replicate filering of columns via dropdowns

All,
I've seen the
following.
It basically filters your columns in a "search" function, instead of filtering individual columns.
How could I create my own version?
Apologise, not even sure how to articulate what the search option does.

As far as I search, there is no OOTB feature to apply multiple filters on a list.
As workaround, by using the Data View WebPart through SharePoint Designer and create a WebPart. For reference:

Which option to use to search text in multiple table columns

Hi, I have a case where I have 4 db tables. On the UI there is an option to search a keyword from some columns of these 4 tables.
Table1 = summary, description are the columns user can search on
Table2 = project_name is the column user can search on
Table3 = need_by_date is the column user can search on
Table4 = owner is the column user can search on
On the UI, user can enter a keyword and check the columns they want to search on. Out of the above, they can check one column, or more, or all.
My question is what is the best option to use oracle text search in this case.
Option 1 = I create a procedure to select these columns and then create an index on this procedure. In this case, is there a way to specify
which columns to search on?
Option 2= Create 4 separate indexes on these table/columns and then query the columns which user has selected to search on.
Any other better idea?

multicolumn only works on columns in the same table.
If you can also query just on one field, then an index per field will be preferable. If you query always on all the fields then the one index approach is good. For this last the options are:
1. Use User_datastore, create a procedure and a dummy column
2. Create a materialized view for the query and build an index on this materialized view
3. Store the fields as an xml in the main table and index the xml column.
The maintanance of options 1 and 3 are bigger, because you need triggers to be aware of an update. Option 2 and 3 will need more storage.

Search not working with multiple select in dropdown field

There is a field called Tipologia which is dropdown menu with checkbox (multiple select). Choose more than one checkbox and its automatic append with comma in text field which is customized using javascript. Now then if you submit button then its not working as our products.
Now for this there is a custom field in admin in web apps items. This field is same for all items and values are different for all items like that which you can see above dropdown checkboxes value.
Now my question Is it possible that for that one field in admin which has different value for different items and when i search from website and checked that cehck boxes and it search for all different items ??
For example in admin suppose 2 items which has different value for that one field. Suppose one has value called Appartamento and other is Villa. Now from search form which is on website, that dropdown checkboxes, if i select these two values (Appartamento and Villa) from these and then search, it will display that both items from web apps ???
Is it possible ??? Can you help me for this ???

Load image file into a LONG RAW column via SQL*Loader

Are you trying to import the image on the client into Oracle lite, or from the server end into the main oracle database for download to the client?
On our system images are loaded into the the oracle lite database (10g R1 at the moment) on the client (DELL X50 PDA's) into a BLOB (Not LONG RAW) column using Java (relatively standard functionality in Java) as this is what our application software is written in.
From the server end, we do not at the moment load images as such, but we do load the application software into the database for deployment of new versions to the clients (the DMC/DMS updates we have found very unreliable), and the technique should be the same for images. Again the file is imported into a BLOB column.
NOTE a column defined as BLOB on the main Oracle database appears as a LONG VARBINARY on the client Oracle lite database, but the synchronisation process handles the conversion with no problem.
To import into a BLOB column on the server try the following
1) you will need to create a DIRECTORY (CREATE DIRECTORY command) within the database, pointing at a directory on the database server (or accessible from it). This is needed for the file location.

Synchronize IR columns via plsql API

Hi!
I would like to use the package wwv_flow_worksheet_standard to synchronize the IR columns in my application out of plsql.
Reason: My IR are based on views (simply: Select * from view_name) I have lots of them and they change frequently via plsql execute immediate.
What I have tried is:

Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately this is not what I am searching for.
I want to update the interactive report definition on my apex page out of plsql.
E.g. the query of the IR on my page is: Select * from view_name
When i add/remove columns from the view, the IR is broken. In order to repair the IR I need to logon to apex, edit every IR and save it again. Afterwards the new columns will appear in the report.
Because my application has about 30 IR's and columns will change frequently I would like to script this step.
The function APEX_040100.wwv_flow_worksheet_standard.synch_report_columns sounds like it does exactly what I need.
Unfortunately what I tried doesn't work. (Look above)

Create local user via dropdown from .csv

Hello
i try to create a powershell script to create local users on Win7.
All the user informations are stored in a .csv file.
Now I'd like to have a dropdown-menu to choose which user should be created.
So i want the first column of the csv displayed in the Dropdown.
When a option gets choosen the script should read the rest of the information out of the .csv-file and create the user with it.
i got some parts to create a dropdown and to create local users via .csv, but my limited powershell knowledge keeps me from putting it to one piece.

When we are downloading the 'Top Queries by Month' or 'Top Queries by Day' report, while we see numbers in 'Total Queries' and '% of all queries' columns, we are not finding anything in 'Query Text' column, its empty. Not sure while the analytics is
not able to fetch/report the 'Query Text' itself - the report doesnt make any sense without 'Query Text' information.
Is there anything in the web part markup I pasted above- is any of the property value is affecting this?
Or it can be some configuration/error with the logging/analytics process?

In my app, I have a form with an Update button. I am simply trying to get Apex to update all rows in the salaray column in the view, where the country and grade match.
I've the following code for the Update button:
UPDATE PRICE_MODEL_CRA_V
SET SALARY = :P16_SALARY
WHERE COUNTRY = :P16_COUNTRY
AND GRADE = :P16_GRADE
The option I have chosen in condition type is:
Value of Item / Column expression is NOT Null (as there are values in the column)
Also tried SQL Expression and it does not like..says that there is No Expression.

Sorry I realize now that piece of information was not well supported.
If I choose SQL Expression for Condition Type in my Form Page and I try to Apply Changes
Apex says this..
•Failed to parse SQL query!
ORA-00936: missing expression
I was assuming that I need to have the colon for the items in the form where I am wanting Apex to grab the values entered by the user. I tried them without the colons with the SQL Expression condition and same result.

SET SALARY = P16_SALARY
WHERE COUNTRY = P16_COUNTRY
AND GRADE = P16_GRADE
I did put 1-1/0 in my expression field and applied changes and then tried ot submit the form and it does not produce an error, so perhaps it is not being called? Where would I start with troubleshooting that?

Firefox freezes ONLY when entering a search with Google, must close FF via task manager in order to restart it - Windows 7 64 bit. Was not like this always.

Sorry, cannot give further details. 4.0 runs smoothly with all websites I visit. Each time when entering a search term in Google I get all the results, but that's it - FF then freezes down completely.

This can happen if you or an extension have modified network.http prefs.
You can check the network.http.* prefs on the about:config page and reset all bold user set network.http prefs to the default value (network.http.proxy.keep-alive should be true) via the right-click context menu -> Reset.

How can I search a word in a column and erase all the rows containing that word?

How can I erase all the rows containing a certain word at once?
Right now I do it manually : I search the word in a certain column with cmd+f, after that it points out where the word is in different rows. And then I manually erase every row but this takes a lot of time when you have 500 row! There must be a way to select all the rows concerned at once and erase them? Thks!

assuming this is something you don't do very often you can simply use the search feature to identify instances of the search term, and select the row, delete the row then search again.
The next level would be to add a new column where you identify that the search term exists in a cell of the row, then you sort by the new column:
B1=IF(IFERROR(FIND("team", A1,1), 0)>0, "FOUND", "")
my search term is "team" change yours as needed.
select B1, copy,
select Column B, paste
Now sort:
Inspect the rows to make sure the rows found are REALLY ones you want to remove. select the ones you want to remove and delete those rows.

Searching DI API Property for column text in marketing document

Hi,
I am searching the property for entering information into the column rdr1.text.
I found the following information in the help file:
ItemDetails Sets or returns the item details in the marketing document line.
Field name: Text.
Length: 16 characters.
Text Returns the text property.
Field name: text.
Both properties are not working because the second one is a read only field.

PS.:
You can switch on the system-information (CtrlShiftD).
Then in the bottom of B1 the propertys of a form-field are shown on mouseover. This helps often to find the right keyword for the SDK-Help.
In this case it shows the column name in DB: "FreeTxt"

Searching a string in a column

Hi All,
I have a table having a column containing names,i need to write a query that would fetch the exact string from the table.
eg. Available funcions- is the data in the table
Query: select name from <table> where LOWER(name) like LOWER('av%')
the query explained above will return the result : Available functions
instead of the LIKE clause do i have anyother effective way of searching the table??

Want to search a word in a column multiple times ????

Hello All,
Want to search a word in column and after that word want to read the values till i encounter blank cell, uptill this i could get the code but then in same column again i have to search for same word and again start reading.
In short if i encounter word "Name" three times in one column i must start reading after that immediately three times till next very blank cell.
I am attaching code and my .xl file.
Hope anyone could guide me...

Ya thats what the probelm is that nothing is fixed.... There are six headers and there column number is fixed.
It should take 1st header search in column A if the word "Name"Comes twice it should read twice just below the header Name all the exciting values, then it should go for other Header "Gruop" in Column B and do the same. And this should be done for all six headers.
Eg:
A B C D E F G ------ Column number from excel
Group Number Name Rate IR FR Freq ----- these are headers
1 3 fgh 23 45 56 78
2 5 ty 56 67 67 67
Group Number Name Rate IR FR Freq ---- 2nd set of headers
4 3 ty 33 56 88 100

SQL Query constructing for searching values in Tables single Column

I have Table USER_SERVICES with 2 Columns USER_NAME, Services. Please find below sample data on USER_SERVICES Table.
A user can be assigned with multiple services(service1, service2 etc.,). So we store data as below :
USER_NAME Services
user1 service1
user1 service2
user1 service3
user2 service1
user2 service2
user3 service3
user4 service4
I need to frame a SQL Query to 'select users assigned with Service A and Service B and Service n'.
Note: 'And' condition is used when Searching for multiple services.
Example: The SQL Query has to dynamically handle condition if i give Single Service, multiple Services(service1 and service2 e.t.c,)
If i say select users assigned with service1 and service2, from the above Table, result should be user1 and user2
If i say select users assigned with service1 and service2 and service3, from the above Table, result should be user1
If i say select users assigned with service4 from the above table, result should be user4
If i say select users assigned with service1 from the above table, result should be user2,user1
If i say select users assigned with service1 and service2 from the above table, result should be user2,user1
How do i construct the SQL Query. Any help will be appreciated.

How it will be stored? In a string or a table or a collection type?
