Security error while removing LookUp value

Hi Experts,
I want to display my own values in User type Dropdown box on create user screen. It is mapped to lookup definition: Lookup.Users.Role. I added my custom values from the design console in this lookup but when i tried to remove the existing values from this lookup, I am recieving this error:
Error Keyword: DOBJ.INVALID_DELETE
Description: The security level for this data item indicates that it cannot be deleted.
Remedy:
Action: E
Severity: M
Help URL:
Detail:
Any ideas, please help!!

Deleting from database is the most extreme method...
You should have a better understanding of:-
The security level for this data item indicates that it cannot be deleted.
Indiscriminately removing such critical fields can be detrimental and can have severe repercussions...
For every entry in lookups there is one field called LKV_DATA_LEVEL :
This DATA_LEVEL thing has either 0 or 1...
If it is 1, it means you can't remove it from Design Console and if YOU are removing it do it at your own risk...
In fact, when I tried to add and then remove an entry in Lookup.Users.Role, I didn't face this Exception...
By the way, work around is to make value of this field 0 by using SQL Developer... Then you can delete it from Design Console easily...

  • Error while saving date value in Java dictionary

    Hello Everybody,
    I got following error while saving date value in one of the fields of the Java table.
    Internal error occured in submit request: Error in method updateRequestContact : The object of type java.sql.Date with the value '2005-12-04 08:00:00.0' assigned to host variable 9 is not normalized. It must not contain time components in the time zone running the virtual machine.
    I can't find why it is taking time value in the date object.
    This value is coming from the RFC as a date value, and I am saving this value in Java dictionary table.
    Same code for this was working fine earlier. But, now suddenly it gives error like this.
    Even if I provide date on the screen from webdynpro application, this date value can't save in the Java dictionary and gives same error.
    What should be the problem behind this?
    Regards,
    Bhavik

    Hi Satyajit,
    I am getting date value from the screen of the webdynpro application from date picker control and passing this value in Java dictionary.
    More Information:
    I have dat value in the Date object: <b>target_date</b>
    But Now I have made new Date object as following:
    Date target_Date1 = new Date(target_date.getYear(),target_date.getMonth(),target_date.getDate());
    Then I am passing this object to Java dictionary. Still it gives same error.
    Then I have changed code as following:
              int l_year;
              int l_month;
              int l_days;
              l_year = target_Date.getYear();
              l_month = target_Date.getMonth();
              l_days = target_Date.getDate();
         Date target_Date1 = new Date(l_year,l_month,l_days);
    Now it works for me.
    But I guess this is not the perment solution. It looks very strange. I have used so many date objects at various palces. So, this solution is not the final for me.
    I want to findout the main cause of it.
    One more thing: This code was working for a mornth or two. But, now suddenly it is giving this error.
    Please help me if anybody knows.
    Regards,
    Bhavik

    Adding an item from order is working but removing doesn't works.
    Please help me to resolve this error.
    Thanks!!!

    When you remove and checkout, it basically updates the commerce items in the cache and since you did not synchronize, its possible that ur cache with order got messed up.
    Your order might have already got messed in the database. Try deleting the order and try again after you synchronized and added transaction around it.

  • WS-Security: Error while valdiating the digital signature

    Hi
    We are getting an exception (in the J2EE logs) when an external party calls our SOAP webservice with WS-Security. We are using their public certificate to verify their signature (self signed certificate). Their SOAP Security header looks correct - below is the error in the J2EE logs.
    VerifyException. Key: 0200
    [EXCEPTION]
    com.sap.security.core.policy.exceptions.VerifyException: [_policy0200] Error while valdiating the digital signature. The error was java.lang.NullPointerException null.
    at com.sap.security.core.securitypolicy.assertions.IntegrityAssertion.verify(IntegrityAssertion.java:376)
    at com.sap.security.core.policy.expressions.AllExpression.verify(AllExpression.java:149)
    at com.sap.security.core.policy.WSPolicy.verify(WSPolicy.java:43)
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    What do you mean by "external party" and "self signed certificate" in this context?
    A 3rd party vendor or customer is giving you their server's "self signed" certificate to use publicly?
    Apart from this being more prone to admin errors than server certificates already are, I hope that they trust you...

  • Error While RFC Lookups

    Hi
    I am performing RFC Lookups in my java code and when ever I am testing this java mapping code from Operation Mapping Test Tab, I am getting following error.
    Error while lookup Connection to system RUNTIME using application RUNTIME lost. Detailed information: Error accessing "http://pmichsappid16.app.pmi:8016/run/system/int?container=web" with user "PIREP_PID". Response code is 500, response message is "Internal Server Error"
    Error while closing accessor Technical error when calling an adapter remotely. The HMI method with the ID close was called with an incorrect session status. The system accessor object is missing.
    Could you please tell why I am getting this error.
    Note:1) When I am testing it end to end my code is working fine with out any errors.This happens only when I am testing it from operational mapping test tab.Previously I am able to execute my code from operational mapping test tab also.
    2) I am also closing accessor object in proper manner.
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PI 7.1 Strange behaviour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Prasanna,
                          I was facing the same error while testing JDBC lookup in the operational mapping. The problem was that while testing in the operation mapping or message mapping tab you need to provide the RFC channel created manually in the parameter. While end to end testing this is binded in the integration directory object,
    I provided the JDBC channel created for lookup manually in the operation mapping and i got the result.
    Hope this will help.
    Thanks

  • Security error while loading pdf file in jsp in firefox?

    When i type in the following link manually in firefox as " file://///172.16.2.1/copyediting/ELS/mallet.pdf", pdf file is loaded successfully in the firefox browser. PDF file is located in remote server which is referred by IP 172.16.2.1.
    I've assigned the Same link in a String in jsp page and tested it through my tomcat application as
    <%
    String linktotest="file://///172.16.2.1/copyediting/ELS/mallet.pdf";
    %>
    <a href="<%=linktotest%>">link</a>
    when i click on the hyperlink , the pdf is not loaded in firefox and i'm getting the following error in firefox error console
    Security Error: Content at http://172.16.3.222:8080/FMS/source/journal/ProductionEntry.jsp may not load or link to file://///172.16.2.1/copyediting/ELS/mallet.pdf
    can any one please give me the solution.

    Links and forms in HTML should point to public URL´s (with http:// or https:// protocol), not to the file system (with file://).
    If those files are not public accessible by URL, then you need to create a servlet which does the file streaming task. This example may be useful then: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/07/fileservlet.html].

    hi,
    usually it is the web dynpro launch system that is causing the issue, OR there is a misconfiguration in the backend like the tasks are set up with com.sap/esslea in the backend and the xml file is referencing sap.com <SWITCH>/esslea and the dynpro is showing this as not deployed.

    In JDev 9.0.2, to deploy to the full 9iAS server (instead of just Oracle9iAS Containers for J2EE [OC4J]), you have to use Enterprise Manager or DCM to deploy your application.
    In JDev 9.0.3 Preview, there is a way to have JDev perform a deployment via DCM for you, if you install a DCM Servlet into 9iAS that comes with JDeveloper.
    By JDev 9.0.3 Production, if you also use Oracle9iAS 9.0.3 Production, it should be possible to deploy to iAS 9.0.3 out-of-the-box.

  • Getting error while selecting LOV value

    Hi all,
    I am getting the below error in R12 apps while selecting the lov value from list (But it is working properly in 11i apps and loacal jdeveloper.)
    Error: Stale Data
    The requested page contains stale data. This error could have been caused through the use of the browser's navigation buttons (the browser Back button, for example).
    Cause:
    The view object ProjectInformationAM.EmployeeLOVVO1 contained no record. The displayed records may have been deleted, or the current record for the view object may not have been properly initialized.
    To proceed, please select the Home link at the top of the application page to return to the main menu. Then, access this page again using the application's navigation controls (menu, links, and so on) instead of using the browser's navigation controls like Back and Forward.
    The lov query is select employee_number,full_name from per_all_people_f
    I have tried both internal and external lov but both cases it is showing the error in R12
    I have used below code in PR of create page, still no use
    if(!am.getEmployeelovVO1().isPreparedForExecution())
    am.getEmployeelovVO1().executeQuery();
    Row row1 = am.getEmployeelovVO1().createRow();
    am.getEmployeelovVO1().insertRow(row1);
    row1.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    Except this lov all lov's working properly,
    Any one help on this it is very very urgent....
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I had a similar issue just now, and we fixed it in this way. But the case is probably different compared to your situation.
    Situation:
    - custom inquiry page
    - case: manual search, so not results based or Auto Customization Criteria
    - multiple search criteria fields
    - separate AM for all the LOV fields
    - each LOV has its own VO
    - Results table on same page, but with its own VO
    - each search criteria field has Lov mapping to the corresponding external Lov region
    Issue: when selecting a value via the Lov and coming back into the search page, I received the stale data error.
    searched lots of places and finally figured out what was wrong in my case.
    Each search field had its BC4J properties set to the VO of the results table. And since we wanted to make a manual search thing, this is not good.
    Removing the View Instance value and the View Attribute value in the properties of the search fields resolved the error.
    Hoperfully this can help other beginners, like me, in finding a solution for the same mistakes... :)
    regards
