Security Extract

how can I extract security from Shared Services 9.3.1?
Thank you,
Jz

Hello John,
In our Planning Web Application version 11.1.2.1 (Classic application), we have issue with the Business
Rules not changing the job status from Processing to Complete.
Essentially giving an indication to users that the job is taking longer than expected,
Having noticed that behavior, when we cross check with Admin credentials
(Application Logs ) HBR Launch.log. The End Time of the job is updated promptly.
We have couple of SRs Open with Oracle but they concluded it’s a bug and need
to upgrade to 11.1.2.2. But currently we do not have any plans to upgrade to the
latest version.
In order to force the Status change to mark it as Complete at the SQL Server backend.
We have to update the status table HYP_JOB_STATUS manually via database update.
But this is laborious process.
Did you encounter such issue? Please suggest a feasible option here ?
Thanks,
Venkat

  • Role Access : SS Provision Report vs Workspace Security Extract

Is this normal, we are using EPM 11.1.2 Classic Metadata.
I Setup a user 123049, provisioned him HFM access to "Reserved" only.
I also add the same user to a native group called FM_Loc_Reviewer which has provision access to 7 Roles: Approve JE ,Consolidate,Create JE, Load Excel Data, Post JE, Reviewer 1 and Save System Report on Server.
When i extract security from workspace it has user, 123049 showing up with the combined provision of his id and the group he belongs to. Is this a te way it is suppose to be? In HFM 4.02 it would only show his access
    Thanks

  • Automate HFM Security extract?

    Hi,
HFM Security can be extracted in below methods
    1. In workspace > Extract Tasks> Extract Security
    2. In Shared service > Application Groups > Rt Click on App Name> Assign Access control > Security Reports
Please let me know if any another ways to Extract security reports.
Can we make Automate the "extracting security reports"?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    AVSR

Overview: create a migration definition file for HFM (migrating what information you need, in your case it would be security)... save the file, don't execute. Using cmd prompt, run the LCM utility.bat, supplying it with the information needed as well as the migration file. Automate it by creating a batch file to run your migration file and the utility. Schedule the batch file in task scheduler and it will run whenever needed.
Search for it on the oracle knowledgebase. Theres a lot of info on LCM there.

  • HE 6 security settings with HFM 11?

    Hi All,
I wanted to know if the security extract from an HE 6.4.1.1 system is compatible as-is to be loaded into HFM 11.1.2 using the "Load Application Security" function. I see this statement in the Admin Guide "Caution! You can only load security classes for Classic Financial Management applications." But I'm not sure if that's saying only security extracts from older versions of HFM can be loaded.
    Thanks!

You cannot directly load a HE6.4 security extract into HFM in any version...
The Load Application Security option allows you to load a flat file into HFM, then you must go to Shared Services and assign access control to the appropriate application.
The caution disclaimer states that you will not be able to use the Load Application Security option if you are using Performance Management Architect.

  • HFM Security Access

I have a query on HFM security which I have got from the business.
    1)     Change Doris and Jeanie access to read/display only in HFM production. We should have access to display all data in HFM. – I was not sure which access should I give to get this requirement.
    2)     In Process Management, Please provide “Start”, “Signoff”, “Approve”, “Reject”, “Publish” in process management for Rob Sage, Debbie Indrieri and Doris Lai. Also, Please provide “Promote” and “Submit” Access to Elisa Ha and Jaime Akiyama. – Shall I give Review Supervisor for Rob Sage, Debbie and Doris for this access and not sure which one should I give for Elisa and Jaime.
Kindly help me in this regards.

I don't use process management so I will not attempt to answer that part of your question.
In regards to the first part, you need to go into Shared Services and assign those users the Read permission for the required security classes. For instance, if all entities are tied to a class called ALLENTITIES, you could go into Shared Services, click on projects, click on the project that holds your application, and then click on the application you are managing. Then you would search for the users/groups in question and add them to the selected list, next you would select the classes you want to assign them access to (i.e. ALLENTITIES). On the next screen you will see a grid with users/groups and classes. Go to the cells and set the Access Rights to read. (Be sure to hit the SAVE button when done)
Alternatively, you can do a security extract from the application, make the updates in the security file, and load that back to the system.

  • HFM Access Security info thru API or Database?

In HFM running in the system 9 enviornment - is there a way to access the security info thru an API or Database. This is info that typically is availiable in the security extract and contains info like
    !FILE_FORMAT=2.0
    !VERSION=9.30
    !FILE_FORMAT=2.0
    !VERSION=9.30
    !USERS_AND_GROUPS
    !ROLE_ACCESS
    etc.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

There is an item not really discussed in this thread which is OpenLDAP. Shared Services uses a product called OpenLDAP for certain tasks such as a repository for the Native Groups and Users. Additionally, if you have users tied in through a 3rd party sourch such as Active Directory, certain key information is found here.
For instance, when you look at the Security Access tables in HFM, you will notice that it does not reference the usernames by username rather by a unique ID key. This ID key translates back to the information in Shared Services OpenLDAP database.
This had the potential to causes issues when trying to make a development environment due to the fact the unique id's (SIDs) could be different for the exact same user. In order to retain security information between two different environments without having to redo the security, you have to synchronize the shared service databases to ensure the SID data was the same.
Shared Services has an import/export utility which helps with this task; however, the old versions would not export the SID!!! (whoops). Fortunately, the newer versions of this utility do infact export the SID values if you request it to do so.
In regards to the subject of this thread, you can get at the security information a few ways :
#1 - There is a Java API for Shared Services. I've tried to make use of it; however, I've found it a bit more complicated than I would like so I do not use this method.
#2 - Using the Application Client DLL's. There are vb samples of how to get basic information such as group membership, etc, etc if you have the SDK.
#3 - Database direct. As pointed out previously there are unique tables for each application which hold this data; however, you will also need to interface with OpenLdap to x-ref the SID values to readable usernames/groups. In regards to this, I was pondering making a utility to do this for people if there was an interest. I need the data as I do a quarterly user audit and I would prefer to automate this as much as possible.....

  • HFM security Class

    Hello Guys,
I've to create around 3500 security classes and same number for the HSS roles I'm wondering if there is a way to bulk upload from a txt or a csv file rather than create everityng manually.
    Thanks
    Fran

That's right: HFM's security extract has four sections: users/Groups, Security Classes, User/Group Role assignments, and User/Group class access. This can be easily coded outside of HFM and then loaded into the HFM application directly. Please note that security can only be loaded in Merge mode, so if you need to remove a user's access, you must do so from within Shared Services. Do not use the "Clear all security" mode unless you plan to rebuild the application entirely.

  • HE641 Loading Extract

While attempting to reload an extract in Hyperion Enterprise 6.4.1, I get multiple messages. Can anyone help me decipher their meaning? I am pretty new at this.
    Here they are;
Line 67: Invalid security class CAT_ACTUAL. – Confirmed not in CEStst app.
Line 102: Module Organization: Cannot lock Entity Load.
Line 151: Module SubNodesByPer: Cannot lock Entity Load.
Line 192: Module Organization: Cannot lock Entity Load.
Line 4470: Module Entity Load: Category is required to load Ownership by period.
Line 42332: Module Entity list load: Cannot lock Organization.
Line 45005: Module Accounts: Cannot lock Organizations.
Line 51985: Invalid security class ENTITY_PFR.
Module Application Load: Cannot lock Organization.
Line 52683: Module Organization: Cannot lock ASCII Load.

In Enterprise as in HFM, the metadata contains security classes. These must exist before the metadata can be loaded, so you have to first load the security extract file before you can load metadata. This explains your first error.
The other errors might be due to loading metadata while other users are in the system. If this is the case, you have to ensure no one else is in the application while you load the security, application, or logic files.
HFM on the other hand does allow you to load the system files while users are in the system, but they will receive a "logoff" command right after the files are loaded.

  • ZEN Vision M, will not start up or charge at all.

Hello, I have tried letting the player charge (even though it doesn't show that it's charging) on my computer USB for about 4 hours now, and still nothing... I tried the restart button, nothing... I tried holding the power switch on and restart button (for restore mode), nothing.... I don't know what to do, I guess one of my other questions iso I need to have the software installed on my computer inorder to just charge the player? My computer was updated and ever since the media player has not been recognized, but I haven't had the chance to reinstall it yet.
The battery died on my player and now it has the above symptoms....Please help.

Has you ever recharged the zen by that USB port that you're trying now? You need a direct USB conection for best results.
If the Zen has runed out the battery, it may pass a long time until it starts rechargin.
When it is recharging, the blue light will blink until it gets full battery, so the light will go off.
You must get a real charger, it doesn't mind if it isn't from creative, you need a charger similar to that used for small devices... I'm using the one that came with my Bluetooth GPS, and I'm sure that there are a lot of more devices using 5 volts (more or less) for recharging.
You can also try a car-Cigarrete lighter to USB power source, to recharge in the car...
If you said that you have just updated your computer, think that it can be a problem with power saving mode of the port, that if the computer doesn't recognize a device on the port, it won't send energy... Just a thought. Try to use a Pen dri've in that port before connecting the zen, then extract it without using the "secure extracting" method (Think that if you don't write or erase a thing from the pendri've, it is safe for the data) , plug the zen and wait, you know it can wait a long time before starting the recharging.
The last: Try to get a real charger, I also use it to recharge my PDA!

  • Analysing Task Audit, Data Audit and Process Flow History

    Hi,
Internal Audit dept has requested a bunch of information, that we need to compile from Task Audit, Data Audit and Process Flow History logs. We do have all the info available, however not in a format that allows proper "reporting" of log information. What is the best way to handle HFM logs so that we can quickly filter and export required audit information?
We do have housekeeping in place, so the logs are partial "live" db tables, and partial purged tables that were exported to Excel to archive the historical log info.
    Many Thanks.

I thought I posted this Friday, but I just noticed I never hit the 'Post Message Button', ha ha.
This info below will help you translate some of the information in the tables, etc. You could report on it from the Audit tables directly or move them to another appropriate data table for analysis later. The concensus, though I disagree, is that you will suffer performance issues if your audit tables get too big, so you want to move them periodically. You can do this using a scheduled Task, manual process, etc.
I personally just dump it to another table and report on it from there. As mentioned above, you'll need to translate some of the information as it is not 'human readable' in the database.
For instance, if I wanted to pull Metadata Load, Rules Load, Member List load, you could run a query like this. (NOTE: strAppName should be equal to the name of your application .... )
The main tricks to know at least for task audit table are figuring out how to convert times and determing which activity code corresponds to the user friendly name.
    -- Declare working variables --
    declare @dtStartDate as nvarchar(20)
    declare @dtEndDate as nvarchar(20)
    declare @strAppName as nvarchar(20)
    declare @strSQL as nvarchar(4000)
    -- Initialize working variables --
    set @dtStartDate = '1/1/2012'
    set @dtEndDate = '8/31/2012'
    set @strAppName = 'YourAppNameHere'
--Get Rules Load, Metadata, Member List
    set @strSQL = '
select sUserName as "User", ''Rules Load'' as Activity, cast(StartTime-2 as smalldatetime) as "Time Start",
cast(EndTime-2 as smalldatetime) as ''Time End'', ServerName, strDescription, strModuleName

select sUserName as "User", ''Metadata Load'' as Activity, cast(StartTime-2 as smalldatetime) as "Time Start",

Now here's the prob: Whenever i play a playlist, after some minutes the music KEEPS PLAYING but the ipod screen IS FROZEN...like,the song's at 0:30 - 4:25 FROZEN but the song keeps playing..but oh yeah, when next song comes,a lil LIIIIIL part of the next song can be heard, but BANG to ya mouth!,music turns off but ipod screen STILL ON,but nor the keys nor clickwheel works..i tought "****!"
I've tried usin' MENU + Select to force rebootin' the iPod..then when the main menu comes again the keyboard's FROZEN and the screen TOO!!..
Oh yeah, sometimes, rarely, the keys works again, but not for long enough..randomly it freezes and here we go again...when i caught again the keys workin',i connected quickly my iPod to my PC and it appeared the "Do not disconnect" logo...i know that whatever **** happens and u connect the ipod to pc and that screen appears, everything works fine again...and it does!...for a time..coz next day i did that it FROZE AGAIN!!!

    Username
    Activity performed
    Activity start time
    Activity end time
    Server name
    Description
    Current module
    Note:
The Task Audit feature is available only in the Financial Management Web user interface.
The task audit log information is stored in a table (APPNAME_TASK_AUDIT). You can back up or extract the information in the table. You should monitor the log size and clear it on a regular basis.
    To perform a task audit:
    Select Administration, then Task Audit.
    Note:
You must have an application open for the Task Audit link to be available.
Optional: You can filter the audit by selecting criteria:
Enter a start date and an end date.
    Tip:
Click to select dates from a pop-up calendar.
From the Server Selection list, select a server, or select All.
From the User Selection list, select the user to audit, or select All to audit all users.
From the Task Filter list, select the task to audit, or select All to audit all tasks.
    Click View.
The tasks that meet the filtering criteria are displayed. Tasks are sorted from most recent to least recent, as shown in this example.
Optional: To export the audit information to a CSV file, click Export, and follow the download instructions.
Optional: To delete the entries from the log, click Clear Log to delete the entries from the log.
    Note:
When you clear the log, a record of the clear remains in the log and cannot be erased.

  • HFM Task Audit Logs

    Hi All,
HFM Version 9.3.1. When you click on administration>task audit, there are a bunch of tasks which can be auditied. I am trying to pull the last logon information from this and apparently the file is to large to export.
Where are these logs stored? Are they in SQL or on the app server somewhere? Does anyone every clear these logs? Will NOT doing so affect performance in any way.
    Thanks,
    Greg

    Greg,
Logs are stored in the HFM relational database. The table name is <AppName>TaskAudit where <AppName> is the name of the HFM app.
By default, the data in this table is not trimmed and it can grow quite large.
From an overall systems level, I doubt the size of this table is going to negatively impact system performance unless you are trying to work with that table directly. ;)
It is not uncommon for people to make a script (schedule task) that executes a sql query that cleans up the table except for critical pieces of information such as system loads, etc.
The tricky fields in the table are ActivityCode and the time fields. ActivityCode correlates with the activity (i.e. Logon, Consolidation, etc). It is not something that is advertised that I know of; however, I created a list by analyzing the program. The list will follow at the bottom of this post.
The times are a bit tricky as you need to convert them so that they are "human readable". In SQL, I use the follow statement to convert them to a human readable time/date : cast(endtime-2 as smalldatetime)
    Hope this helps.

  • ISetup - Instance Mapping

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle EBS R12.1.1 Vision on Windows Server 2003 and installed Oracle EBS R12.1.1 Fresh on Windows Server 2003.
Vision is my Source Instacne and Fresh is my Target Instacne.
In Vision Instacne I have a DBC file VIS.dbc with Oracle SID "VIS" and in Fresh Instacne I have a DBC file PROD.dbc with Oracle SID "PROD".
Now, when I start Instacne Mapping:
    Name: Source
    DBC Filename: VIS.dbc
    Responsibility: iSetup
then it raises an error: "Message not found. Application: AZ, Message Name: oracle.apps.fnd.common.PoolException: Exception creating new Poolable object.."
I have recreated the dbc files on both the instacnes.

    Hi,
    I have two cases I want to discuss with this forum's users, please guide me which case is best;
    Case 1:_
Now, I have two instacnes Central and Source and both are Windows 2003 based Platforms, I have sent the request from Central to Source and it is submitted successfully to Source but after some time it raises an error: *"Extract failed: java.lang.Exception: There are no APIs in the selection set to extract."* What does this means *"There are no API's in the selection set to extract."*, when I run the same request directly from Central Instacne then it is completed successfully but when I send the same request from Central to Source then its is failed with this error "There are no API's in the selection set to extract.". What does it meants?

    Case 2:_
In this case, I make a Selection Set with the name *"Complete SS GF"* in Central Instance and make the same Selection Set in the Source Instance. Now, when I send the request then it is submitted successfully and it runs *"further 10 requests"* on own behalf so total requests are 11, but after completion of *"further 10 requests successfully"*, the master request which is send from the Central Instance only that one is failed *(Phase: Completed, Status: Error)* and no link is generated on the Central Instance. But when I click on "View Log..." button for the Error of master request then interesting error shown see below:
