Security: Group Size Display max limit 25?

Can any one help me?
For security in my J2EE projects, I use jazn-data.xml
I have about 10 users that mapped to one or more 30 groups. When I want to add a new user, from Oracle 9i AS administration page, it shows me only 25 groups available. Does any one know where is the setting / configuration file in order to display the full size of groups?

AD security groups listed in user groups in Config Manager however not listed when selecting values for the "System Resource - System Group Name" query

Morning All,
We are in the process of setting up our SCCM 2012 infrastructure and are experiencing issues with our device collection querys based on AD security groups.
I can see the security groups are being updated per adsgdis.log - i can see the computers that are members of the groups in AD are being recorded in the same log. Issue is when we build the device collection query - click the value button for the string,
only 2 of the 18 AD security groups are displayed. These are 2 AD groups we setup initially to test.
We have since added several additional yet they only appear to populate as user groups in config manager.
The same goes for additional OUs that we have created with AD.
When i click the value button only the initial 10 OUs that were created are populating in the list of applicable OUs.
We have the discovery methods Group Discovery & System Discovery enabled and set to search the parent OU recursively
I'm wondering if there might be an SQL issue with this as it initially worked but stopped...
Additionally we added an OU recently that now appears in in the Values options in the query but the ones added previously and additionally after are not showing up....
Any help is appreciated.

Given the adsgdis.log lists the new pc and the group it's assigned to it appears the AD group discovery is working.

Here you can see it processes the new members in the Software - Microsoft Project Professional 2010 x64 group and captures Thurmanwin7vm as a member.
I did find some log entries that reference permission issues with objects in the SQL database and have opened a case with MS to get that looked into. Hopefully that will be where the issue lies.

-bash: ulimit: pipe size: cannot modify limit: Invalid argument

Followed the Oracle documentation to install Oracle 10g R2 on RedHat 4(UP1) x86-64 and I'm getting the following error when I login to the server from a putty client:
-bash: ulimit: pipe size: cannot modify limit: Invalid argument
Can someone explain why I'm getting this error and if there is a way to fix it?

Just delete changes in /etc/profile and make changes as shown here in file /etc/security/limits.conf.
Read this article:
Limiting Maximum Number of Open File Descriptors for the Oracle User
After /proc/sys/fs/file-max has been changed, see Setting File Handles, there is still a per user limit of maximum open file descriptors:
$ su - oracle
$ ulimit -n
1024
$
To change this limit, edit the /etc/security/limits.conf file as root and make the following changes or add the following lines, respectively:
oracle soft nofile 4096
oracle hard nofile 63536
The "soft limit" in the first line defines the number of file handles or open files that the Oracle user will have after login. If the Oracle user gets error messages about running out of file handles, then the Oracle user can increase the number of file handles like in this example up to 63536 ("hard limit") by executing the following command:
ulimit -n 63536
You can set the "soft" and "hard" limits higher if necessary.
NOTE:
I do not recommend to set the "hard" limit for nofile for the oracle user equal to /proc/sys/fs/file-max. If you do that and the user uses up all the file handles, then the entire system will run out of file handles. This could mean that you won't be able to initiate new logins any more since the system won't be able to open any PAM modules that are required for the login process. That's why I set the hard limit to 63536 and not 65536.
That these limits work you also need to ensure that pam_limits is configured in the /etc/pam.d/system-auth file, or in /etc/pam.d/sshd for ssh, /etc/pam.d/su for su, or /etc/pam.d/login for local logins and telnet if you don't want to enable it for all login methods. Here are the two session entries I have in my /etc/pam.d/system-auth file:
session required /lib/security/$ISA/pam_limits.so
session required /lib/security/$ISA/pam_unix.so
Now login to the oracle user account since the changes will become effective for new login sessions only. Note that the ulimit options are different for other shells.
$ su - oracle
$ ulimit -n
4096
$
The default limit for oracle is now 4096 and the oracle user can increase the number of file handles up to 63536:
$ su - oracle
$ ulimit -n
4096
$ ulimit -n 63536
$ ulimit -n
63536
$
To make this change permanent, you could add "ulimit -n 63536" (for bash) to the ~oracle/.bash_profile file which is the user startup file for the bash shell on Red Hat Linux (to verify your shell execute echo $SHELL). To do this you could simply copy/paste the following commands for oracle's bash shell:
su - oracle
cat >> ~oracle/.bash_profile << EOF
ulimit -n 63536
EOF
To make the above changes permanent, you could also set the soft limit equal to the hard limit in /etc/security/limits.conf which I prefer:
oracle soft nofile 63536
oracle hard nofile 63536

How to change the values in custom profiles based on security group ??

i am facing problem for my requirement, can anybody help me for below scenario...
i have custom check in profiles , there are content types and sub types. sub type nothing but a categories on for particular content type. For example i have News content type , same in the below subtypes drop down list are press release, events, articles etc.
what i want to do is, when i open custom checkin profile, subtype values need to be changed( some values in subtype should hide) based on security group changes .
In the Sub type listed values, some values need to hide only when i choose different security groups.. sub types values should display based on the particular security group only. when ever i change the security group, drop down Values in subtypes needs to change.
hope understand my requirement.
How to achieve this task. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i was trying do for DCL for subtype and security group. but there was already existing DCL created for subtype information field (Relation configuration done for content type). even though i was trying to do for DCL in Security group information field. but, i could not find security group information field in configuration manager.
Now what should i do ?? how to create DCL to subtype and security group ??

I find the solution to this problem.
In the LODConfig.xml file I have:

but when I change it to

The application starts without the obove mentioned error.

Max limit reached for tablespace in SAP BW

Hi Friends,
We are having one SAP BW system on DB6, AIX...in that the max limit for tablespabe is 512GB, which is going to be exceeded soon...
So it is planned to move some tables from tablespaces of aggregates i.e. FACTI, FACTD into new tablespaces...
How can this be achieved?

As mentioned by Jens, you can use the DB2 9's Large RIDS (Larger Record Identifiers) support which significantly increases the size limit for table space. SAP has a tools to do the conversion for you - OSS Note 11058956 (ABAP tool for activating large RIDs).

AD Security Group name change not showing in Sharepoint 2010

Hi!
We have a Sharepoint 2010 Standard enviroment and are heading for a role-based identity-managment in our company. That's why we find it better to use AD Groups instead of Sharepoint Groups.
So we have over 1000 AD Security Groups groups that have been added to our Sharepoint Sites and our goal is to control every permission in Sharepoint from AD.
I have done all this with the combination of Excel and Powershell and it have worked great.
The problem i see in the long run is the name change of AD Security Groups. Sharepoint 2010 isn't showing the new name of the group.
Does anyone know of any workaround that can solve this problem. It's a bit of a disappointment that Microsoft haven't fixed this. The only information i think they should store in Sharepoint is the SID of the groups.
I was thinking of designing a powershell script that runs every night and updates the display name of the groups that do not match the AD display name.
Is there any other way?

As far as I know, and I'm not sure where to go from here without testing on my own...and I'm not sure when I'll be able to do that. Perhaps a configuration issue.
Have you tried removing the incorrectly named group and adding in the correctly named one?

Heap max limit

I have checked and the page size in windows and HP-UX is 4KB.
Also, in the documentation for the -Xmx flag it says that the size must be multiple of 1024 bytes and bigger than 2 MB.
I may understand that the allocated size can be rounded to the nearest page (4 KB block), wich give you a difference less than 1 MB between the requested size and the real allocated size, but in windows the the difference is 8 MB and in HP-UX the difference is 41 MB. It's a big difference.
Am I missing something?

Powershell script for security groups and users for multiple share folders

Hi scripting team,
I need your help with powershell script for the below queries
1. List out the security groups for more than one server share path and output it to a file ( csv )
For eg.
If the are are two share paths
\\servername\foldermain\folder1
\\servername\foldermain\folder2
So I needs the list of security groups for each share path
And the output needs to be under each any every path.
2. Grab the users belongs to main security groups and it nested groups for more than one security group and listed the users under each and every group. No need to display nested groups. Just users belongs to main group and users under nested.

if can grab the share path from a separate txt file than copying it to the <your path> location
so i can modify the txt file
once run the script
if can the output like below to a CSV file
\\servername\foldermain\folder1group 1group 2group 3\\servername\foldermain\folder2group 1group 2group 3then i know which groups belongs to which share paththen i can remove the duplicate groups and keep the common groups to grab the users belongs to itso with the second script same as the first copy the security groups to a txt file and the out put as below.what I needs is the users full name and the samaccount name ( user id )group 1user1user2user3

What we are trying to achieve is that we have an OU with several child OU's below and we need to capture all user accounts from al OU's and then either be able to export to a CSV or pipe the out put to an AD group
dsquery user "OU=organizationalunit,DC=name,dc=com" -limit 0 >>
filename.txt
with the filename.txt you can do this:
for /f "tokens=* delims= " %i in (filename.txt) do dsmod group "CN=groupname,OU=organizationalUnit,DC=name,DC=com" -addmbr %i
or, just pipe the initial results into the dsmod command:

For example, there are the following groups - Accounting_01, Accounting_02, Accounting_03. The script has to read what members there are in these groups and assign to the people of Accounting_01 an EmployeeID of 01, to the people of Accounting_02 an EmployeeID

I haven't tried the code, because I don't have AD cmdlets.
But I see some discrepancies between the documentation and your code.
Looking at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh852287.aspx (Set-ADUser cmdlet) we can read for the
-Replace<Hashtable> parameter: ... Use this parameter
to replace one or more values of a property that cannot be modified using a cmdlet parameter ...
But the OP referred to EmployeeID, which is a Set-ADUser cmdlet parameter (look for -EmployeeID),
thus, cannot be used with -Replace<Hashtable> parameter (as per the documentation).
Also, the documentation states for this same
-Replace<Hashtable> parameter: ... To modify
an object property, you must use the LDAP display name ...
And the LDAP display name for EmployeeID is employeeID, and not employeeid as in your code (although I'm
not sure if LDAP display name
is case sensitive).
As you say your code works correctly, I
suspect that you created a new property named employeeid, which is not the same referenced by the parameter
-EmployeeID.
The documentation merely says that it can be used to modify attributes that do not have their own parameter. If they were to include a parameter for every AD attribute the list would be huge. It doesn't imply that -replace cannot be used instead of the defined
parameters.
I must admit that I didn't realise that -EmployeeID could be used as I didn't consult the documentation before I wrote the code but I can confirm that using the method I posted the employeeID attribute was modified. It didn't create a second attribute with
different letter casing.

When I started to try running routeserver, I was using "false" in <param-name>long_ids</param-name> (web.xml). When I tried to use "true", an OutOfMemoryError error was occuring. Now I know that "false" is wrong. So, I walked a bit more...

I am using Router from 11g. The web.xml from 10g does not have logs_id parameter and servlet mapping.... May I add logs_id parameter in web.xml?
Here we have contract with oracle. But I could NOT find any thing about patchs for routeserver... I am downloading "configuration manager" to update my metalink. Could you tell me tip about where are routeserver patchs?

Powrshell to add Multiple security groups to shares

Um, are you adding the security groups to the share? That makes no sense. You should just add "everyone, full" to the share permissions and then use NTFS permissions to limit what people can actually do.
If you really need that I'll go look some more but I won't promise anythign as, again, this is not the way epople generally do this. This code is 1 possible way of managing the NTFS permissions, from some code I collected :)

User's Security Groups

Is there a way to view user's security groups with mxl script. Iwant to output every user's security groups and check if there isany user on the server that is not assigned to at least onesecurity gruop. Thanks,Jacob

also DISPLAY PRIVILEGE USER ALL; will list all privileges granted to a user directly. Any line that isn't "no access" means that the user has privileges assigned outside a group. I periodically do ann audit on our systems to ensure we have't got any direct users that have privileges granted outside groups. Of course anyone tagged individually as a supervisor will come up on this check.
