Security socket connection with the Applications Database Table

Friends,
As the security of connection when it is the integration of Oracle Identity Manager and a Oracle database through the database connector (Database Applications Table).
With the following versions:
- Oracle Identity Manager 9.1.0.2
- Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.5
- Oracle Database 11.2.0.2
- Oracle Solaris 10
Thanks

I have already posted on the Progress talk forum. Just wanted to know if anyone in this forum had the same problem if so i can get the solution.

  • Database access error: Listener refused the connection with the following error: ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor

    Hi All,
    I am using oracle 11g client library on Linux 64bit machine and trying to connect to oracle database using jdbc thin driver.
    The url format what I am trying to use is:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@IP address:port:service_name
    When service_name = orcl : I am able to connect with the above syntax.
    But when the service_name is having . e.g service_name = orcl.177.39.45, with the above format I get the above error.
    If I change the URL syntax to following, it works
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@IP address:port/service_name
    But both seems to be valid syntax.
    So I would like to undestand the reason behind the same.
    When service_name is having ".", why ":"  does not work and "/"  works and when the service_name is without " ." , 1st format works.
    Is there any specific reason behind same?
    Please let me know,
    Thanks,
    Aarati

    Hello,
    as per the suggetion, I replaced the URL in the format
    URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@15.154.47.235:1521/ORCL
    original URL :
    URL=jdbc:oracle:thin:@15.154.47.235:1521:ORCL
    With this I was able to access the main page and was not getting database access.
    But when I tried to perform some operations say list the submitted jobs, our application internally contacts Oracle database and gets the information stored in the database.
    its not able to get and it throws exception.
    So is there any reason behind this?

  • Cant change the connection with the database

    its strange... i have 2 databases for same schema with diferent users ...in one i dont have data and the other i have data...... i have created 2 database connection in my connection navigator..... the strange thing is:
    when i change the connection of the application module to the database that doesnt have data and i run the page there are always appear data wich are in my first database.... eventhought i have change the connection... but if i use bussiness component browser to test it .... i dont get data for those views... in fact this is how this should be...... how is this possible ?
    i am using different faces-config.xml files..... is this connection saved in some files and i should change it by hand?

    Hi Me_J,
    Here is the bc4j from one of my application module: <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <BC4JConfig>
       <AppModuleConfigBag>
          <AppModuleConfig name="MyAppModuleLocal">
             <DeployPlatform>LOCAL</DeployPlatform>
             <JDBCDataSource>jdbc/MyConnectionDS</JDBCDataSource>
             <jbo.project>DataModel</jbo.project>
             <AppModuleJndiName>dfly.datamodel.entities.MyAppModule</AppModuleJndiName>
             <java.naming.factory.initial>oracle.jbo.common.JboInitialContextFactory</java.naming.factory.initial>
             <ApplicationName>dfly.datamodel.entities.MyAppModule</ApplicationName>
          </AppModuleConfig>
       </AppModuleConfigBag>
    </BC4JConfig>You should have something similar. If you have applied security on your application, you could have a "data-sources.xml" file. Assume to have correctly change this file too.
    Instead of using two different connections, i prefer to use only one and changing the parameters when i need to access a different source. You just need to remake and rebuild your project for make your changes effective.
    Hope that help,
    Good luck,
    Tif

  • How to change a connection with the database in Runtime?

    How to change a connection with the database in Runtime?
    My connection was made using ADF Business component (ApplicationModule).
    ADF Swing.
    JDeveloper Studio 11.1.1.4.0.

    When deploying ADF applications with database connection, you should be using JDBC data sources configured in the weblogic server.
    You could change the JDBC data sources to a different DB instance or location - by changing the JDBC data source and restarting the weblogic server.
    For more details, check

  • Sync up a database DDL to the Application designer table

    Hi All,
    Is there a way to sync up a database DDL to the Application designer table? We have a situation wherein these two do not match (in the nunmber of columns or fields).
    Edited by: user12102490 on Apr 5, 2010 12:14 PM

    A Record in Application Designer is like a blue print or a template to PeopleTools. PeopleTools also uses records to know what tables are in the database and what they look like. It does not use the database's meta-data or system catalog. Finally, the Records store some additional settings and properties to help with generating pages and loading the data into them.
    I think Application Designer's build feature is what you are looking for. That is where Application Designer will generate the SQL to create the tables that make the record structure you see in the record. You have to have the record open and in focus in Application Designer, and then, you can either click on the Build toolbar icon or the Build option in the menu. Once selected, you will see a Build dialog that asks you what you want to do. You choose the Create option if the table does not exist at all, and Application Designer will generate a Create Table statement. You can choose Alter table when the table exists but the number of columns is different. Finally, if it is a View, you would choose Create View and Application Designer will generate a Create View statement.
    It sounds like you need the Alter Table option because you already have a table in the database but the columns are different. What it will actually do is generate a Create Table statement with the new table structure. Then, it will write an Insert ... Select to copy the data from the original table to the new structure. Next, it will drop the old table. Finally, it will rename the new table structure to the original table name.
    When Altering tables, there are some settings that you may need to deal with. Mostly, they are in regard to dropping columns. If you have a column in the database that is not in the Application Designer, then Application Designer will skip building that record because it does not want you to loose the data in that column. You will have to change the setting to make sure that it will drop that column.
    Once the Build process is complete, you should check the output window at the bottom to see if it worked. You are looking for the line that hopefully says 0 errors. If not, you will probably see the SQL error statement that came from the database at the top of the output. Next, you should check the SQL. You can double click on the line that tells the SQL file that it generated. If the file is blank, that means Application Designer either thought the database matched the Record or there were columns that it should not drop.
    The Build dialog has options to run the SQL for you or let you run it. I always choose the "Build and Execute" option. That way Application Designer runs the SQL for me, but I can also review the SQL to make sure it did what I wanted it to do.
    There is a lot that could be said here, and I know I didn't cover it all. Does this help at all? Do you want me to elaborate more on any of it? Would it help if I posted screenshots on my blog of the Build process?

  • What is the driver name to be given for connecting with an MSAccess database?

    I tried the 32bitODBC test on the MSAccess database. Works fine. My loaded java program trying to connect with the database is still not working. NullPointerException runtime error.
    Maybe the driver that I've loaded is wrong viz. sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver.
    What is the correct drivername to be given in class.forname("driverName")?
    Any clues?

    what u've given as the driver name is correct. The NullPointerException comes because of problems with passing parameters from the front end to the database. It's receiving null parameter values. Check the parameters u r passing to the database. I think this will solve the problem.

  • How can I connect with the AspNetUsers table in MVC 5?

    I have a model, in which I have used several foreign keys from other tables. The point is that I also need to get the Id of the user, from the AspNetUsers table, though, I don't know how. I have done something like this, but it doesn't seem to be working:
    public class Message
        public int MessageID { get; set; }
        [Required(ErrorMessage="Please type a message to submit")]
        [DataType(DataType.MultilineText)]
        [Display(Name="Message")]
        public string MessageText { get; set; }
        public DateTime WrittenOn { get; set; }
        [Required(ErrorMessage="Please select a ticket")]
        [ForeignKey("Ticket")]
        [Display(Name="Ticket")]
        public int TicketID { get; set; }
        public virtual Ticket Ticket { get; set; }
        [Required(ErrorMessage = "Please select a business")]
        [ForeignKey("Business")]
        [Display(Name = "Business")]
        public int BusinessID { get; set; }
        public virtual Business Business { get; set; }
        [Required(ErrorMessage = "Please select a user")]
        [ForeignKey("aspnetusers")]
        [Display(Name = "User")]
        public int Id { get; set; }
        public virtual ApplicationUser ApplicationUser { get; set; }
    When I try to create a controller using the Entity Framework with my model, I get an error message saying:
        The ForeignKeyAttribute on property 'Id' on type ... is not valid. The navigation property 'aspnetusers' was not found on the dependent type ... The Name value should be a valid navigation property name.

    what might be the problem...
    I developed the report in 10g Report Builder. and moved to 1.5.10.2 instance... ran that report in my report builder using apps user and..it is running fine in my report builder.

    hi bsubbu
    your password of custom application user schema at database level should be similar with the password at application level
    for instance your custom application schema name and password is xxgis/xxgis , we register this schema at application site by this navigation
    security> oracle > register >database username (xxgis) > password (xxgis)
    here you might have change your custom application user's password at database level using
    alter user xxgis identified by newpassword;
    change this user password at application site also :
    security> oracle > register> database username (xxgis) > password (newpassword)
    i understand this from the document
    Regards
