See user's sql statements

Is there anyway to see the user's sql scrıpts, wıthout sql_trace nor audit.
Or who ıs doıng what (ınsert,select update,....)
From the enterprıse manager I can only see top sqls.

Hi All,
I have created an alert for engineering module in R12. It got tested and was working fine. when the user testing it, while trigger the alert getting the error, "APP-ALR-04106: Please correct the user-defined SQL statement for this alert".
when verified the alert, it got verified and ran also. It parsed the query successfully and when run it fetched few records.
Need help in resolving the issue.

Hi Sri;
I have already gone through the Note: 948037.1. But this note is related to 11i. The solution provided in the Note is for 11i.
I am facing this issue in R12. Is this patch applicable to R12?I belive its not. But u can check Solution part 4 for your instance, at least it can give you idea. The other note in metalink related bug and all for R11 too.
I belive its better way to rise Sr while waiting other forum user response to that thread

Query with JPA not working. Is possible to see the executed SQL statements?

I have a question regarding namedqueries. I am having an error for which I am not being able to find any solution. ORM mappings seem to be ok, and the EntityManager validates correctly. However I am getting an error when trying to retrieve some results. My question is if it is possible to retrieve the set of SQL statements queried on the server, to see if it is due to a different issue than JPA settings.

You can enable sql logging in a provider specific way (e.g for hibernate you add hibernate.show_sql=true in the hibernate.properties file).
You could get more help if you described the problem you are getting.

Dynamically Identifying user issuing SQL statement

Client wants to provide security to certain data by first capturing the identity of every user issuing a SQL statement, then, based on the user and a security table, allow access to certain data. Is this doable? TIA...

Oracle has a whole product centered around this called "Label Seurity", which I'm guessing may be too much for your needs. Check out this marking shag for info about "virtual private databases" http://technet.oracle.com/deploy/security/oracle8i/pdf/vpd_wp6.pdf
Basically, the idea is that the "old school", but still perfecly fine, way to do it is to create views for each group of users and grant permissions to the views for the appropriate users. Optionally using synomyms into their schemas to give users the same name for the different views.
The virtual private database and similar stuff is hard to explain. I think of it as the db engine auto-adding a where clause to each sql statement based upon who you are. If that makes any sense.
I've tried this a couple of different ways, but have yet to hit upon one that seems easy & generally applicable.

See all SQL statements that have been executed in an active transaction?

When I query v$transaction, v$session and v$sql, all I can see is the SQL statement that is currently running in an active transaction.
How can I view all SQL statements that have been executed in a currently running transaction since that transaction began?

In some special cases you can use v$sql, v$open_cursor, or "Availabilty>View and Manage Transactions" or something else.
But be aware, transaction could be started long time ago, all cursor could be flushed from shared pool and closed, and redo (the page from Grid Control bring Log Miner) may not always be available.

How do I use a variable within a sql statement

I am trying to use a local variable within an open SQL step but I keep getting an error.
My sql command looks like this "SELECT BoardDetailID FROM BoardDetails WHERE SerialNumber = " + locals.CurrentSerialNo
If I replace the locals.CurrentSerialNo with an actual value such as below the statement works fine.
"SELECT BoardDetailID FROM BoardDetails WHERE SerialNumber = " + " 'ABC001' "
Can someone tell me how to correctly format the statement to use a variable?

Thanks for the reply. I have changed the required variable to a string, but with no success. I have reattached my updated sequence file and an image of the error.
When looking at the Data operation step I see that the sql statement is missing everything after the last quotation mark.

How to view the SQL statement generated during execution of the BW Query?

Dear Experts,
I am trying to retrieve data in a SAP BW Query from a Non-SAP system.
I think if I am able to see the complete SQL statement that was generated when I executed the BW Query, I may be able to use it to retrieve the data.
Do you know how and where I can see the SQL statement of a BW Query's SQL statement?
I tried RSRT options to execute the Query but still could not find the SQL statement.

Write to screen SQL statement

The below command updates a table through an SP. All the variables are being filled, but it's not updating the table. I hard code the variables on the SQL Server side and it works fine. How can I write to screen whatever's being sent to the below so I can see the actual SQL statement?

Sql statement in Summary folders...

Hi ,
Is there a way to see the exact sql statement produced when a summary folder has been created....????

Interesting question.
I take it that means that if you use a summary folder in Disco, then the SQL Inspector won't show the summary folder redirection in the SQL?

Sql statement monitor

i am looking for sql statement monitor, similar to mssql's sql profiler.
is there tool that allows the user to monitor all sql statements ran by a specific user or sql statements received by a certain schema?
statement tracer for oracle doesn't work. i dont know why.
in EM (10g), there is sessions > sql tab but it is not real time.
i tried toad but i cant easily install it in the client. any other ways of doing it?
any other solutions?

V$SESSION tells you about current sessions, whether they are active (STATUS), what they are executing (SQL_ID) and other metadata available about the session (MODULE, PROGRAM, MACHINE, TERMINAL, etc).

ASH - Active Session History - contains samples of active sessions - like most dictionary views, etc the exact columns depends on version.
As mentioned above, you need to be licensed for Diagnostic Pack for this.
V$ACTIVE_SESSION_HISTORY is a buffer of active sessions sampled every second.
The buffer is flushed to DBA_HIST_ACTIVE_SESS_HISTORY but by default only 1 in 10 sessions is retained in the repository.

I just checked the source code of the SQL commands history region and that report fetches a maximum of 1000 records. I don't know if you change the setting somewhere in the builder, but seeing the code it looks as though 1000 is hard-coded in the report definition(apex 4.0).
If you need to see all the command history,you can query the original table: APEX_040000.WWV_FLOW_SW_SQL_CMDS
Note that is an internal table used by apex and hence you might not find any documentation about it(google got me one valid hit: Identifying Inactive Workspaces which seem to confirm the table's use).
Anyway, here's what you need to do, ask your dba to grant your workspace user select access on this table
Connect as dba user and run
GRANT SELECT ON APEX_040000.wwv_flow_sw_sql_cmds to '<WORKSPACE SCHEMA>'Now you can run the following command from your workspace to see the entire command history using
select * from APEX_040000.WWV_FLOW_SW_SQL_CMDS where parsed_schema = '<WORKSPACE SCHEMA>';You might want to revoke the grant once you have seen the data/taken out an export due to security issues.

Building up dymanic SQL statement from user entered fields on a jsp

Hi guys.
I'm building up a sql statement from a bunch of input fields that the users can type in on a .jsp page. No real problem there, but I get a problem when they type in words with ' character in it Eg: Don't, I'll etc.
This confuses the java code totally and usually results in a spectacular crash of the system.
Any ideas/thought/wild speculations would be most appreciated.

Even in pure read-only databases SQL injection can be a problem, as the user might be able to read data he should not be able to see.
You can also create dynamically created sql statements using PreparedStatements, that's not a problem, I'm doing it pretty often myself.

How to audit alter user sql statements in Oracle 11g.

I want to audit all the alter user sql statements that show who is altered with what sql stment including the connections performed by sys and system.
Ex: If I use the command : alter user xxx quota 50 GB on users;
Then how can i grab this sql stement and who performed it with the timings.

Pl post OS and database versions.
