Select columns in ALV
Hi,
I'm using the 'SALV_WD_TABLE' component.
Is it possible to select a column of the ALV by clicking on the column header and initiate an event?
Or is it possible to set the header text as a link and define an action for it?
Thanks,
Anett

How to hide selection column from alv grid
hi
i want to hide selection columns form alv grid.. how can i do it.. Is there any fm for that?
regards
palakHi,
the ALV Grid Control allows you to directly hide key columns with NO_OUT (field KEY_SEL is not used).
Field name:NO_OUT
Comp. type:LVC_NOOUT
Dtype(length):Char(1)
SPACE, 'X'
If you set this field, you hide the relevant column in the list. Nevertheless, the column is available in the field selection and can be interactively selected by the user as a display field. The ALV displays the contents of hidden fields on the detail screen for a row in the grid control.

Neenu.

How to get column value of a selected row of ALV
Hello ,
I have application POWL POWL_UI_COMP uses another component POWL_TABLE_COMP.
This POWL_TABLE_COMP uses SALV_WD_TABLE.
I want to select value of ORDER id and it need to be passed whenever user selects a display order button(Which is self defined function generated in POWL_TABLE_COMP) . I am calling a display order on action of this display button(http://nap60.nalco.one.net:8042/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/mt_order_app?IV_ACTIVITYTYPE=A&IV_EQUIPMENT=aaaa&IV_ORDERID=90001511&IV_ORDERTYPE=STD&IV_QMNUM=00&IV_TPLNR=00)
ORDERID is one column value of selected row of ALV table.
So please can you suggest , how to read ORDERID and pass it to the self defined function..
thanks in advance,
SharadaAnoop,

Hi,
in sapgui java 7.10 (on mac osx 10.5.1) I cannot select multiple columns in ALV reports.
I can do it only in some transactions (like SE16). But on all our custom reports (REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY) in does not work.
Any hint?
Many thanks,
LorenzoHi Lorenzo,
did you double check if selecting multiple columns works with SAP GUI for Windows in the same report?
If yes, I suggest to file a bug report so we can do a remote logon to run your custom report.
If not it might be because of REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY itself or your parameters calling REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.

sudhanshuHi,
Where exactly we are (or going to be) using this reference i.e., CL_SALV_WD_CONFIG_TABLE. Im passing contents, filename & MIME type as:
call function 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
exporting
TEXT = TEXT
importing
BUFFER = XTEXT.
WDR_TASK=>CLIENT_WINDOW->CLIENT->ATTACH_FILE_TO_RESPONSE(
**path to the word file
I_FILENAME = 'WDP.xls'
String Variable
I_CONTENT = XTEXT
File Type
I_MIME_TYPE = 'EXCEL' ).
In CL_SALV_WD_CONFIG_TABLE we have few methods related to column settings however not sure where exactly we will be using this class reference. can you please give some idea so that i can do some r&d in that.

As I can capture or recognize a column selected in a ALV ?
I'm not sure if you can recognize more selected colums, but you can definitely read the column name which is selected as the first in the field catalog.
If it runs to user_command form, you'll find it in the rs_selfield-fieldname. The rs_selfield structure itself will provide you with more information what might be useful, check it yourself.

Putting a check box above column for selection in WD ALV
Hi,
Can anyone provide me a code snippet and help me how I can
provide a check box above column for selection in WD ALV.
Best Regards
SidHi Sid,
As far as I know we cannot put checkboxes directly above the Column headers.
You can achieve this functionality in a round above method
You can create a group of checkboxes above your ALV table with names of columns to be selected beside each check box and proceed with your further processing.
Also If you are just looking at which columns you need to select to be shown on the
ALV output
data: lr_standard_functions type ref to if_salv_wd_std_functions.
lr_standard_functions ?= wd_this->r_table.
lr_standard_functions->set_column_selection_allowed( ' ' ).
Hope this is of some help.

Ismail.

How To Edit Selected Row In ALV Table
Hello Experts,
In My Webdynpro Application, I am displaying records from database table into an ALV Table.
I want to edit only selected record from ALV table.
Please Suggest How to achieve this.
Thanks,
PratibhaThe link given above is for the UI element 'Table' and does not pertain to ALV.
To Make an ALV Editable on lead selection for that particular lead selected row.
1. The ALV should be made lead selectable, when initializing
2. The ON_LEAD_SELECT function should be invoked.
3. Withing this function the index has to be retrieved to know which row was selected.
4. Based on the index retrived all the columns have to pass FALSE to read_only in the column properties.

Select columns from table for display in alvgrid.
Hi all,
i have the following:
i do select a tablename and pass it as a parameter. then this table is loaded into an internal table and displayed in an alv-grid.
what i now want to do is a step between the both:
after the internal table with its structure is loaded, i want to display the field columns and i want them to be selectable so that in the next step the alv - grid is selected only with the selected columns ( just now it allways runs with all columns - even the not needed ).
Any ideas for that would be appreciated. Is there some tutorial on that or some sample ?hi

There are a number of ways to create a fieldcat.
For the purpose of this example i will build the fieldcatalog manualy
by populating the internal table fields individually and then
appending the rows. This method can be the most time consuming but can
also allow you more control of the final product.
Beware though, you need to ensure that all fields required are
populated. When using some of functionality available via ALV, such as
total. You may need to provide more information than if you were
simply displaying the result
I.e. Field type may be required in-order for

Hi,
Am displaying 113 columns in alv, when i export to excelsheet only 99 columns are exported remaining are not exported. plz tell how to export all the columns.
tanks,
vino.Hi Vino,
The process for downloading into excel with correct columns can be done in many ways
I suggest you to read the following and then go about for a trial and error and in case you find difficulty revert back
After generating a report, it is possible to export it into Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Word using three different options. Each of these options saves the file in a slightly different format. Before using any of these options, you have to set the macro security in your Office products to medium.
Within your Office program, follow the menu path Tools > Macro > Security. Select the Medium security setting. Then click the Trusted Sources tab and ensure all the check boxes are selected. Click OK to save the changes. For the best results, ensure your Office program is closed before performing any of the following actions.
Save to Local File
Using this export option will retain all of the formatting that you may have done to the report in SAP, such
as moving columns, setting filters and sorts, etc., but will not retain any of the color or font formatting in
SAP, unless you choose the HTML option.
1. Click (Local file). The Save list in file... box will open.
2. Choose the desired file type in which to save the file.
u2022 unconverted - tab-delimited file not associated with a program
u2022 Spreadsheet - Microsoft Excel file
u2022 Rich text format - Microsoft Word file
u2022 HTML format - HTML file. This option adds some formatting, which will make it display
similiar to the report in SAP.
3. Click (Continue). The Transfer DAT to a Local File box will open.
4. The default location in which to save the file is your "SAPWorkDir" folder. Click (Search) to
choose another location.
5. Enter your file name at the end of the path and use the proper extension associated with the file
type you chose in step 2.
u2022 unconverted - none
u2022 Spreadsheet - .xls
u2022 Rich text format - .rtf
u2022 HTML format - .html
6. Click . The message "XXX Bytes transferred" will display, indicating that your file was
successful exported.
Exporting to Microsoft Excel
Using this export option will not retain any of the formatting that you applied in SAP, such as moving
columns, setting filters and sorts, etc. However, it does add a colored background and heading and
retains the proper column width.
1. Click (Spreadsheet...). An Information box will open advising you that any formatting you have
applied in SAP will not be exported with the data.
2. Click (Continue). The Export list object to XXL box will open.
3. Choose Table and click (Continue).
4. Click (Continue) again.
5. Excel will open with the report displayed. You can now format the report and save it as necessary.
6. In SAP, an Information box opens stating that you should save the data in the spreadsheet. As
soon as you click (Continue), the report in Excel closes, so be sure you have saved it if
necessary before doing so.
Opening Microsoft Excel within SAP
This export option will actually open Microsoft Excel within SAP, allowing you to use any of the formatting
or calculation features available in Excel along with the SAP tools. However, modifying the data in the
Excel spreadsheet within SAP will not change the actual data in SAP itself.
1. Click (Change layout...). The Change layout box will open.
2. Click the View tab.
3. Choose the Excel option.
4. Click on sap_om.xls in the Template list that displays on the right side of the box.
5. Click (Transfer).
6. Microsoft Excel will open in the window where the report data was displayed. You can now use all
of the options within Microsoft Excel and SAP to format and manipulate the data as necessary.
7. To save the file, follow the Excel menu path File > Save Copy As.
8. To close Excel, click (Change layout...), click the View tab, choose the Grid option, and click
(Transfer).
Exporting to Microsoft Word
Using this option will not retain any of the formatting that you applied in SAP, such as moving columns,
setting filters and sorts, etc., and it will export the data in a table within Word.
1. Click (Word Processing...). The Word Processor Settings box will open.
2. Choose the Create Document option and select Include Colors and/or Start MS Word if desired.
3. Click (Continue). The Transfer RTF to a Local File box will open.
4. The default location in which to save the file is your "SAPWorkDir" folder. Click (Search) to
choose another location.
5. Enter the file name at the end of the path and add the extension .rtf.
6. Click .
7. If you chose the option to have Word open, it will now open with the data displayed.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have used SALV_WD_TABLE as component reuse to display an ALV on my web dynpro application. But the problem is when it is displayed the first row is by defaut selected. If I try to click on any other row it is not getting selected and the first row is still selected.
I checked the context node which I used for mapping to data node of SALV_WD_TABLE . The cardinality is 0..n and selection is 0..1. Again while instantiating the ALV class in the view I din't use any set_selection method to define selection in ALV.
So, I need your help to know what is the reason that is not allowing me to select any other row other than the first row. Also I want to how to program the change in lead selection in the ALV. I mean how to understand when user selects another row and I need to know the row number.
Thanks,
MainakHi SSK,
Sorry for being late to reply. Please find below the steps to follow for your requirement -
1. Enable ON_CELL_ACTION event for the ALV
You can follow the link for the coding. But make sure not to write the code in WDDOMODIFY method. Instead you write the code in WDDOINIT method.
How to trigger the event ON_CELL_ACTION in ALV - Web Dynpro ABAP - SCN Wiki
2. Now in the view methods tab define a event handler for this event
create a new entry in method tab and choose method type as event handler and for the event you choose the ON_CELL_ACTION event of your ALV interface controller via F4 value help.
3. Now in this method created in step 2, you will get the value of the column in variable R_PARAM->ATTRIBUTE. That means, if you press enter in columnn 'USER_NAME' then this variable will contain this column name. Then the sample coding would be -
case R_PARAM->attribute.
when 'USER_NAME'.
* Populate the first name and last name in the corresponding context node element
endcase. -
In wendynpro, i need to delete unwanted columns in ALV..
Hi experts,

Im getting the values for corresponding fields which i have selected but im also getting other fields of the database dictionary structure in ALV.. Can anyone help me to delete other fileds in it..
Thanks in advance..
Edited by: sivaprasath sekar on May 28, 2009 11:22 AMHi,
Use following code to delete the column from ALV.
Here we are using config. model of ALV to delete the column.
DATA lo_interfacecontroller TYPE REF TO iwci_salv_wd_table .
lo_interfacecontroller = wd_this->wd_cpifc_alv( ).
DATA lv_value TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_config_table.
lv_value = lo_interfacecontroller->get_model(
CALL METHOD lv_value->if_salv_wd_column_settings~delete_column
EXPORTING
id = 'CARRID'
Instead of carrid you can pass your cotext_attribute which needs to be deleted.
Thanks,
Rahul
