Is it possible to write a findByXX() method that will return data from
multiple tables using CMP? If so, are there any examples of how to do
this?

Basically, I have a table with a primary key and some other columns of data. The second table has a foreign key that points to the first table then has a columns with related data. I want to write construct a SQL query where one of the columns is the primary key from the first table and the second column is a concatenation of all the rows in the second table that have the same foreign key.
I need this in the form of one SQL statement so that I can use it to create a report in Application Express

Just in case my first post was a bit unclear.
My first table has a primary key, INTERACTION_ID, and several other columns of data.
My second table has a foreign key, INTERACTION_ID, and one extra column, USER_NAME.
There are several rows in the second table that share the same INTERACTION_ID as each interaction can have many user names. I want to construct a SQL query where I pull the interaction id in one column and concatenate all the relevant rows of USER_NAME as the second column.

Hey,I have an issue with the WEBI reporting.I have a data source that has multiple columns say ( month1, month2, month3, month4,.....month 12, month 13, ....month24) with the sales data for each month.Now say I call the month 1 to month 12 as "current year", and call month 13 - month 24 as "previous year".I want to put a prompt in the report which allows me to select between "current year" and "previous year".Based on the prompt value we get a graph of the sales vs month ....as in if we select "current year", then we get a graph of the sales Vs time( remember that the sales data for each month is in a different column.)and if we select "previous year" then we get a graph of the sales Vs time for previous year..( sales vs time for Month 13, month 14, month 15....month 24).I am not able to pull data from multiple columns into a single object that I can use to populate the graphs.Any help on the same will be appreciated .

Find MIN, MAX of multiple rows from multiple columns

Hello,
I need to figure out how to pull the MIN/MAX of multiple rows from multiple columns into one column. Even if some are NULL/blank.
For Example: (C: Column, R: Row, N - NULL/Blank)
C:____1____2____3____ 4____Max
R:____20___22___13____4____*22*
R:____N____N____32____14___*32*
R:____N____12____N____N____*12*
That is, it always gives a value for MIN/MAX unless there are NO values in all the rows of the columns.
So if there is one value, it will select that for the MIN/MAX, as it's the smallest/biggest since there is nothing to compare it to.
Here is my current code:

Hi Thank you for your feedback, unfortunately, I just found out that EVALUATE Function is disabled in our environment for security reasons, so the only other way I've discovered is this:
The problem is that none of the conditions in the case statement are met--so the column is set to null. You can add a WHEN statement (section 2 below) to catch the nulls. There are five cases to consider:

Multiple columns and rows in MessageService

I am attempting to create a message (via MessageService) which has multiple lines of data, and each line has multiple data columns.
Background: My program reads data from a web store, and creates Sales Orders in SBO. A single run might process multiple orders. When all orders have been entered, the program should send a (single) message to a list of recipients. The message will have one line of data for each sales order produced. Each line will contain two fields: the linked SBO sales order number, and the unlinked web order number.
When the message is initially created, I'm defining the multiple columns and initializing the data lines:

The above code would be invoked for each Sales Order processed. However, it generates an "Internal error (-5002) occurred" when the message is ultimately sent.
The SDK documentation states:
The MessageDataLine is a child data structure related to the MessageDataColumn. It contains the value of a specified cell in the Data table, which is defined by its column number (vtIndex of Item of MessageDataColumns) and row number (vtIndex of Item of MessageDataLines).
I guess I don't understand the relationship between adding a "line" in my data display versus adding data into a "column". It appears that the "oLines.Add()" is used to bump across the columns of the data. If so, how do I advance to the next entire row of data in the message?

I'm trying to do a select from two tables and do an insert into a third table from the two resulting columns.

Lets say i created a view from 2 tables (person and info). both have a ID column

where a.id=b.idif i want to select a given range of values from these 2 tables which of the following queries would be more effective.

Bear in mind that this concept of views storing the SQL text is something relative to Oracle databases and not necessarily other RDBMS products. For example, Ingres databases create "views" as tables of data on the database and therefore there is a difference between selecting from the view and selecting from the base tables.
Oracle also has "materialized views" which differ from normal "views" because they are actually created, effectively, as tables of data and will not use the indexes of the base tables.
In Oracle, you cannot create indexes against "views" but you can create indexes against "materialized views".

I have simple example :
First one - Join 5 tables
data : f1 type i,
          f2 type i,
          f3 type i.
start-of-selection.
get run time field f1.
write the query 4 or 5 tables join.
get run time field f2.
f3 = f2 - f1 ( Total time).
Second one - joins 3 table and use for all entries
data : f1 type i,
          f2 type i,
          f3 type i.
start-of-selection.
get run time field f1.
write the query 3 tables join and use for all entries
get run time field f2.
f3 = f2 - f1. ( Total time )
Finally you can have time diffrence between the both sql statement.

Process to get info from Multiple textboxes and check boxes on a page

Actually the problem is, there are lot of check boxes. And process should be like when a user clicks on, say 7 out of 10 checkboxes, only those values needs to be inserted in a table in database. Actually my "insert all" statement is inserting 7 values and also the other three values as null. I tried insert with 'when' and 'if' but didnt get through. my sample insert statement is as follows. Could you help me here.

How to select from multiple addresses of account in IC Web Client

We are implementing a B2C scenario for IC Web Client. We have customers with multiple addresses. However, when we search the acount, only standard address comes to screen. We want to be able select the related address, and then confirm the acount with that address.
Is there any way to customize the Web Client in order to be able to select from multiple addresses of the acount?

Thanks for the answer. Yes, we are using 7.0 but in the account identification screen, there is no personalize button ( I assume you are suggesting adding an addres block by using that button, right?).
We checked the necessary customizing : there is an entry for fucntional profile PERSONALIZATION : ALL_ENABLED.
Should we do something else to show the button?

treat the resultset as noraml. You get it in sequence as you have specified the column names. You use rs.getXXX(index) instead of columnname
