SELECT-OPTION initialization

Hi everybody,
I have an ABAP program which has 3 SELECT-OPTIONS parameters. When the user fills one of them, inside the program there is a FORM that fills the other 2 becuase they are needed in the SELECT clause.
The point is that when the user finishes looking ALV result and press BACK button to the parameters screen, the SELECT-OPTIONS that was not filled by him/her are also with data. The user wants to see parameters as he/she fills: if she fills 1 the other 2 must be empty.
I try with INITIALIZATION event bus it doesn't work. Any other idea?
Thanks & many kind regards.

Rob,
I remember the comment by JB
The ponits system creates rivalry in the forums and people in competition against each other. They also attack each other publicly, or irritate each other intentionally. They report each other in the Abuse Reports asking moderators to remove ponits from each other
In suggestion & comments forum this thread will have more importance.
I get satisfied if the OP's question was answered , never mind WHO solved it. I look for HOW it was solved.
Personally i say the competitive attitude is not good

  • At new, EXIT,STOP and CONTINUE, Select-options Initialization

    Hi Experts,
I am having the following requirements.
    1) I have design the selection screen by using Select-options statement. In that i have to initialize both low and high values. I don't know how to write and where to write the code for the same.
    2) and another requirement as
    field A  contain values ( 0, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0)
    Field B  contain values (1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1)
    At new b.
    write:/ b.
    endat.
In the above case how many times At new statement calls.
    3) How is EXIT differ to STOP and CONTINUE. Please give me the brief idea on this.
I hope i will get the accurate results for the above soon.

    Hi,
    1.
Select-options could be initialised with the command INITIALIZATION.
    Ex :
    tables : MARA.
    select-options : s_matnr for mara-matnr.
    Intialization.
      move : '123456789' to s_matnr-low ,
             'I'         to s_matnr-sign ,
             'EQ'        to s_matnr-option.
      append s_matnr.
I means  Include, the other possible value is E for exclude.
EQ means EQual, could be BT BeTween ...
The structure of a select-options is : Sign, Option, Low and High. (Low and High is the two values you see in screen).
The commande Initialization could be place anywhere outside the start-of-selection ... end-of-selection.
    2.
3 times ..  but, depends where are the fields ..
    4.
The command EXIT leave the current command. Command could be a PERFORM, a DO, a LOOP, a SELECT, ...
The command STOP go to the end-of-selection. If you put some code after the end-of-selection, the code will be processed.

    Hi, Mahesh
You could try the code as follow:
    DATA : i TYPE i.
    SELECT-OPTIONS n1 FOR i.
    SELECT-OPTIONS n2 FOR i.
    INITIALIZATION.
      n1-sign = 'I'.
      n1-option = 'BT'.
      n1-low = 10.
      n1-high = 20.
      APPEND n1.
      CLEAR n1.
      n1-sign = 'E'.
      n1-option = 'EQ'.
      n1-low = 11.
      APPEND n1.
      CLEAR n1.
      n2-sign = 'I'.

      n2-low = 20.
      n2-high = 40.
      APPEND n2.
      CLEAR n2.
      n2-sign = 'E'.
      n2-option = 'EQ'.
      n2-low = 33.

  • How to set default values in initialization event for select option

    Abapers,
    I have 3 GL account like 0024831231,0024831238,0024831245.
Please help me how to set default values in select-options ( s_hkont ) in INTIALIZATION event
    Thanks

Select option is table <Structure> with fields, low, high, sign & option
you need to append the value into the select option, with appropriate value in low or
    example:
    S_HKONT-low  = <value>
    S_HKONT-SIGN = 'I'
    S_hkont-OPTION = 'EQ'
    append s_hkont.
Default value for select-option also can be added directly in select-option statement.

  • Using roadmap and select-options

I'm new to abap web dynpro, i'm using a roadmap with 4 views. This is working fine but, when I try to use select options in view1 they don't show. When I set view1 as default view the select options are working fine.
this is how my current web dynpro looks like:
Main view -> roadmap with viewcontainerUIElement
view1 -> viewContainerUIElement + table (in the window I embedded the select options in the viewContainerUIElement)
        view2
        view3
        view4
In view1 I'm using wddoinit to initialise the select options.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Srinivas,
According to you mail, I will provide some solution please try them. It will definitely works.
---> Create a attribute which holds the lead selection values of the RADIO_GROUP.
---> When you click on the Next View, You will fire the plug. Right. Just before firing the Plug, update the above
          attribute with update information.
    > Do the same code for Select-options code in the WDDOINIT except the passing the values to the select-options.
    > Please pass the attribute information to Select-options with updated information in the method WDDOMODIFYVIEW every time. Without creating a attribute also you can approach the same method. Just for simple access we can create a attribute. Otherwise without that we can do the same.
So Just populate the values into Select-options depending on the value of RADIO_GROUP you will do the same coding WDDOMODIFYVIEW. But initialization of SELECT-OPTIONS can be only done in the method WDDOINIT method only. WDDOINIT method only execute first time once you go through it and go back and move forward then this method won't execute.
I hope this logic will work for you. If not Please send me the Code related to SELECT-OPTIONS and RADIO_GROUP Button information.
I will be in office today up to 4.45 PM (IST). You can contact me in this time otherwise we will discuss on webex tomorrow morning at 9 AM.
    Warm Regards,
    Vijay

  • Multiple select options validation at selection screen

    Hi,
I have the requirement to create a selection screen with 3 select options. Two of them are cross-dependent. It is mandatory to fill one of them and it is not allowed to fill both. The third one is optional. I tried the validation at selection-screen on block... and I have a problem that search help buttons for select options react like execution buttons, when I press any of them I am getting one of errors instead of search help.

  • Select-options for date field.

    Hi all,

    Hi Ravi,
Use the Component WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS to include select options in Web Dynpro ABAP. Follow these steps:
    1. In your Component , "Used Componet" tab add Component WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS . Component Use can be any name that you want to give, eg SELECT_OPTIONS
    2. Go to the View where you want to include the Date Select Options. I am assuming that you already have an Attribute of Type DATS in your context.
    3. View: Properties Tab:Create Controller Usage and select

  • Clearing the displayed value for a SELECT-OPTION

How do I clear the displayed value of a SELECT-OPTION?
I have 2 SELECT-OPTIONs on my screen (standard basic report program screen).  I use code like this to populate the drop-down boxes for each one.
    =====
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR s_prgrp-low.
      PERFORM fill_prgrp_values.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR s_prctr-low.
      PERFORM fill_prctr_values.
    =====
The value the user picks for the first SELECT-OPTION will affect what values I put in the drop-down list for the second SELECT-OPTION.
If a user enters a value for the second SELECT-OPTION, and then goes back and changes the value of the first SELECT-OPTION, then I want to do two things:
    1.  Create a new set of values for the drop-down list for the second SELECT-OPTION (no problem; working fine);
    2.  Clear the displayed value from the second SELECT-OPTION that the user entered previously.  That value became invalid when the user picked a new value for the first SELECT-OPTION.
How do I clear that second displayed value?
I have tried CLEAR and REFRESH for the second variable using the formats s_prctr, s_prctr[], and s_prctr-low.  They will erase the values of the internal table or part(s) of it, but the displayed value stays on the screen.
I need to clear out the displayed value so the user will either leave it blank or enter or select a new value.
I am using F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST to build the drop-down lists, and it works fine, but I do not see any function module to clear the displayed value off the screen.
    Thanks for your help.

Sorry, but calling DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE did not work.  This is how I coded it.
    fld_reset_rcd-fieldname  = 'S_PRCTR'.
      fld_reset_rcd-stepl      = sy-stepl.
      CLEAR fld_reset_rcd-fieldvalue.      "  re-initialize s_prctr
CLEAR fld_reset_rcd-fieldinp.        "  what goes in here?
      APPEND fld_reset_rcd TO fld_reset_tbl.
      CALL FUNCTION 'DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE'
        EXPORTING
          dyname = 'ZFI_GL_BALANCE_NGL'
          dynumb = '1000'
        TABLES
          dynpfields = fld_reset_tbl
    <Added code tags>
I have discovered that CLEAR and REFRESH of s_prctr will clear it somewhat.  If I enter multiple values, ranges, etc., they will all be cleared, EXCEPT for the one single value that is displayed on the main screen.  It is not cleared and it remains if you push the button to display the pop-up to enter ranges, etc.
To devrath.sampat  --  Thanks for your example for building the drop-down list, but that is not the problem I am having.  I am already able to build it just fine.
To repeat my problem, if I:
    1.  first enter / select a value for the first SELECT-OPTION s_prgrp
    2.  then enter / select a value for the second SELECT-OPTION s_prctr
    3.  And finally go back and select a new value of the first SELECT-OPTION s_prgrp from its drop-down list,
when I do, the program needs to clear the value displayed on the main screen for the second SELECT-OPTION s_prctr (any additional values, ranges, etc., are cleared by CLEAR and REFRESH, if I go look; but not the value shown on the main screen).

  • SELECT-OPTIONS in Screen

    Hi,
I am trying to create select - options in Screen , i.e. not the selection screen but a custom screen, say 9000. I can make the text boxes etc for having the select options. But How do I simulate the button wchich comes after select options. It would be used in dialogue programming with multiple screens having different reports.
    Please reply to me urgently,
    Thanks and Regards

    A few dot points:
    1. You can have a select-option embedded in a dynpro, if you want, by using a subscreen.  There's an example bit of code at
    Module - pool Question..?
This would be easy to adapt to being a popup rather than a full screen if required.
    2. As noted above, you can code your own select-options as in
Making a referenced field a range?
which I think Sesh has quoted from.
    3. For the requirement you expressed initially, the code below should do the trick... you get a different block of extra selections depending on which radionbutton you select.

  • Select-options in display mode

    Hi
How to set the SELECT-OPTIONS in display mode by default
    regards
    Srinivas

    hiii
for every LOW and HIGH value of select option you can use a code like given below..
First initialize your select option with some values then use following code
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT .
IF s_docno IS NOT INITIAL .
        LOOP AT SCREEN.
          IF screen-name CS 's_docno'.
           screen-input = 0.
            MODIFY SCREEN.
          ENDIF.                           " IF screen-name CS 'p_docno'.
        ENDLOOP.                           " LOOP AT SCREEN.

  • How to build my own SELECT-OPTIONS?

    Hi experts,
I hv 4 values like for a field, (say VBAK-BNAME),
    NAME_A
    NAME_D
    NAME_M
    NAME_Z
    My selection- screen is like,
    SELECT-OPTIONS: MANAGER FOR VBAK-BNAME.
    So,
    1) How to build the SELECT-OPTIONS table in my ABAP code?
I mean, if the user enters the NAME_A TO NAME_Z in select-options, the system shuld take in-between NAMEs also!
(Actually, I thiught that, the SAP will take care of building the select-options table based on Alphabetical Order, but, When I observed in debug mode, its not like that!)
    2) And Where I hv to write the code for building select-options? I mean, Is it DATA DECLARATION part, AT SELECTION SCREEN or AT SELECTION SCREEN OUTPUT or START OF SELECTION?
    thanq.

    Hi,
Pls. suggest me other than RANGES?
Well, if you don't want to use RANGE then you can do it at SELECT statement.
    SELECT BNAME
    INTO TABLE ITAB
    FROM VBAK
    WHERE BNAME IN ( NAME_A, NAME_D, NAME_M, NAME_Z )
    OR
    SELECT BNAME
    INTO TABLE ITAB
    FROM VBAK
WHERE BNAME BETWEEN 'NAME_A' AND 'NAME_Z'.
    2) under which event i hv to write it?
If you are using in SELECT statement, then you use at START-OF-SELECTION.
If you are buiding RANGE, then you can use at any events such as INITIALIZATION, AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT, START-OF-SELECTION, etc.
