Selecting Color Value on Data Range

Changing digital display BG color value depending on instrument reading level.
0-40 white
40-55 yellow
55-60 red
What's the best way to do this?
Playing with Select function and Case structures.
Looking for a clean way to do this.

This is how I would do it. Look at the help for case structures to learn more about specifying ranges of numbers or letters.

I was trying something like this to start, but getting error "missing keyword"
    select
    t.*/,
    sum(
          case
            when date_val between :day2 - 6 and :day2
            then value_num between date_val - 6 and date_val
            else null
            end
            as 7Day_avg
form tShould I have the case structure outside the sum function?
    Any thoughts??

    Hi,
If you want the average of the last 7 days, including the current day, then then RANGE should be 6 PRECEDING, not 7.
    Try this:
    WITH     got_min_date_val AS
            SELECT  id_key, date_val, value_num
            ,       MIN (date_val) OVER () AS min_date_val
            FROM    t
            WHERE  date_val BETWEEN TO_DATE ('04-01-2013', 'mm-dd-yyyy')
                             AND   TO_DATE ('04-20-2013', 'mm-dd-yyyy')
    SELECT    id_key, date_val, value_num
    ,         CASE
                  WHEN  date_val >= min_date_val + 6
THEN  SUM (value_num) OVER ( PARTITION BY  id_key
                                               ORDER BY      date_val
                                               RANGE         6 PRECEDING
                        / 7

  • How to make default values for date range?

    Dear Colleagues,
My customer is asking for a default value for a date range prompt.
The FromDate should contain the 1st of current month, the ToDate should contain current date.
Does anyone have any idea how I can meet this demand?
    Regards Silje

    Hi Federico,
Thank you for the answer, we are back to the challenge after summer vacations!
I have created a variable in the universe: SELECT current date  as TODAY FROM SYSIBM.SYSDUMMY1. I Called it TODAY.
Then I created a prompt in the query based on Date. In Prompt Properties I tagged for "Set Default Values" and I typed in TODAY.
When I try to run the query I get the error message:  The date for the query filter based on 'Date' is invalid (WIS10704).
What is wrong? What do I have to do differently?
My goal is to have a default for Date that gives me today..
    Regards Silje

  • Dimention values with date range

    Hi All
We have a requirement to have dimensions which have date ranges like
    today's
    yesterdays
    last week
    last month etc
When tried to add dimension I can see only string integer and float values
Do anybody knows how to add Date with the range??
    TIA
    Lalit

The solution we've worked with in the past is to convert the dates to YYYYMMDD and store in the index as Integer values. Thus you can use range filters by converting any incoming values to the same format. Your interface layer will have to written to accommodate those mappings.

  • Select-options.. Date range..URgent...

    Hi All,
Can anyone let me know.. how to give last one month date range in select options.
    Regards,
    Parvez.

    Hi,
In the INITIALIZATION event you can do that.
    v_month = sy-datum+4(2) - 1.
    v_year = sy-datum+0(4).
    concatenate  v_year v_month 01 to v_date1
    concatenate  v_year v_month 31 to v_date2
Or get the 1st and last dates of the last month and
    s_date-low = date1 (1st date of last month).
    s_date-sign= 'I'
s_date-high = date2 (last date of last month).
    s_date-option = 'BT'
    append s_date.
    reward if useful

  • Dynamic Date Value for Date Range Parameter - Scheduling in BI

    Hi,
I am New to BO Enterprise XI R3. I want to schedule the Crystal report which takes Date Range as parameter. Is any option available to calculate From Date automatically based on Current Date based on the range required?
Currently, Parameter option accepts parameters and enterprise process the report for configured parameters. In this case, report always prints only for configured date range eventhough report generated after one month. I am expecting report has to print data for date range (eg. 1 weeks, 4 days, or any range) based on system current date.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Venkateswaran.P

I'm am in the same situation.  I need to be able to have the date parameter dynamically change based on the current day's date when I schedule a report.  However, because this parameter comes from a Stored Procedure from the database, it cannot be modified in the Report Designer (as far as I know).  I've tried to set a default for it to use "currentdate" but it doesn't seem to take.  Anyone know if this can be accomplished in the scheduler?
    Thanks
    -Tom

eg i want to select a field amount from table
and three is a field date range on the table
for this particular field i want to select all records for amount field  and factual field falling wiithing this date range and sum it
    eg
based on date range as in selcetion screen
    select amount( field1)  factual ( field2) from ztable into it_ztable where date = ?....
please give me code for it  and how to sum all values as i will get from the ztable into internal table the two values as fetched from the ztable

  • Setting default date range in selection screen when executing as batch job.

    Hi Guys,
I have one report to be scheduled as weekly batch job and one of the selection screen field is date range. If i set this report to run today then the date range will be from one week back date(Lower value) to today date(Higher value). When it runs for next week(Already scheduled as weekly batch job) the date range should be like this
    Lower value = today date
higher value= next week run date.
How can i achieve this functionality. Is it possible through Dynamic variant concept?. Rest of the selection screen fields have some default values and should not change.
    <REMOVED BY MODERATOR>
    Thanks in advance,
    Vinod.
Edited by: Alvaro Tejada Galindo on Feb 22, 2008 3:52 PM

    Hi Vinod,
    Would suggest you to this.
Create two parameters : p_start_date and p_end_date of type sy-datum on your selection screen , instead of a range.
Now goto create a variant from SE38 for the report.
While creating the variant, mark the "Selection Variable" checkbox for the two parameters and click on "Selection Variables".
Select the option "D: Dynamic date calculation" for both the date fields.
For p_start_date - select the option "Current Date"
For p_end_date  - select the option "Current date +/- ??? days" and put 7 in the pop up.
Hence what you have done now is, set up a dynamic variant, where p_start_date will have sy-datum and p_end_date will have sy-datum + 7, everytime the job runs.
Now, in the program, first step after START-OF-SELECTION code the following:
    RANGES: r_date FOR sy-datum.
    start-of-selection.
    refresh r_date.
    r_date-sign = 'I'. r_date-option = 'BT'.
    r_date-low = p_start_date. r_date-high = p_end_date.
    append r_date.
Hence this way, you would have built your range and use it as needed.
    Cheers,
    Aditya

  • Predefined Date Ranges as List of Values in Webi Prompt

    Hi All
We have a Webi report that has a custom object "Date End" (BW tech name ZDATE_END referencing 0DATE).  Users would like to see in the prompt's List of Values predefined date ranges.
In other words, when the report is executed, for that "Date End" prompt, 2 options should appear in the List of Values:
    Current
    1 Year
    whereby-
"Current" has been predefined as any "Date End" in the range (Current Day) to (31.12.9999)
"1 Year"  is any "Date End" in the range (Current day -365) to (Current Day -1)
I suspect I need to create a Filter condition on the "Date End" object in the Universe Designer and I have been trying with the different operators and prompt settings, etc but I am not getting it right.  The parsing is OK, but the filter is not happening in Webi and the report is bring back all records.
Can anyone please assist with how to create such conditions in the Designer (steps, syntax, etc) ?
We are using SAP BW 7 and Webi XI 3.1 and run on a DB2 database.
    Thanks in advance

  • Date range in function module

    Hi guys,
i have a selection screen where i need to give range of date.
    say from 01.01.1998 to 01.02.2007.
i need to pass this date range to 'Z' funtion module how can i do it.
do i need to define it in tables declaration. if yes what will be the reference type of this field.
I want this range of dates in function module.
    Please explain.

    Hi ahmed
Let us assume s_date is the select option for the date range defined like
           DATA: s_date for p0001-begda.
Now while calling the FM pass the s_date-low and s_date-high as 2 parameters for the FM.In the FM create 2 parameters begda and endda of type begda. Use the low value and high value in the FM to populate the range table and u can use this range table for further processing of the dates in the FM.The range table can be forwarded as follows:
    r_date-low = begda.
    r_date-high = endda.
also provide the sign and options for the ranges table.

  • How do I collapse contiguous Date Ranges in SQL?

    Hi,
In the data below, I want to collapse the contiguous date ranges with the same value (3.7) into a single date range.  I have tried and tried to come up with something but am stuck.  Does anyone know how to accomplish?
    DECLARE @Have TABLE(B DATE, E DATE, R DECIMAL(18, 1))
    INSERT INTO @Have VALUES
    ('2014-08-22', '2014-12-31', 4.0)
    , ('2015-01-01', '2015-03-29', 3.7) -- same value, contingious date ranges
    , ('2015-03-30', '2015-03-31', 3.7) -- same value, contingious date ranges
    , ('2015-04-01', '2015-09-30', 4.0)
    SELECT * FROM @Have
    DECLARE @Want TABLE(B DATE, E DATE, R DECIMAL(18, 1))
    INSERT INTO @Want VALUES
    ('2014-08-22', '2014-12-31', 4.0)
    , ('2015-01-01', '2015-03-31', 3.7) -- want to collapse into 1 date range
    , ('2015-04-01', '2015-09-30', 4.0)
    SELECT * FROM @Want
    Thanks

    Hi tballard,
The posts from Jingyang and Cooper would be perfect only in the case that there’s no date gap between your rows. In addition to their posts, if in any case there would be a gap, please refer my code below, which works in either case.
    DECLARE @Have TABLE(B DATE, E DATE, R DECIMAL(18, 1))
    INSERT INTO @Have VALUES
    ('2014-08-22', '2014-12-30', 3.7) --same value , date gap
    , ('2015-01-01', '2015-03-29', 3.7) -- same value, contingious date ranges
    , ('2015-03-30', '2015-03-31', 3.7) -- same value, contingious date ranges
    , ('2015-04-01', '2015-09-27', 4.0) --same value, date gap
    , ('2015-10-1', '2015-12-30', 4.0) --same value, date gap
    ;WITH CTE1 AS(
    SELECT H1.B B1,H1.E E1,H1.R R1,H2.B B2,H2.E E2,ISNULL(H2.R,0) R2,ROW_NUMBER() OVER(ORDER BY H1.B) RN FROM @HAVE H1 LEFT JOIN @HAVE H2 ON DATEDIFF(DAY,H1.B,H2.E)=-1
    CTE2 AS(
    SELECT B1,E1,R1 FROM CTE1 WHERE R1 != R2
    CTE3 AS(
    SELECT B1,E1,RN,B2 FROM CTE1 WHERE R1=R2
    CTE4 AS(
    Select min(B2) B, Max(E1) E from (
    SELECT B2,E1,RN-row_number() Over(Order by B1) groupByCol
    FROM CTE3
    ) t

    FROM CTE2 C2 LEFT JOIN CTE4 C4 ON C2.B1=C4.B

  • Date range as variable values in report selection

On a report selection screen, how can we save range values as variant?
For example, S_ALR_87012341, I want to save the values of from- and to- dates for posting date using dynamic date calculation as selection parameter.
From date:  current date u2013 365 days
    To date:  current date
I can only put one value at a time but not both.  Any value I input to the Name of Variable field, it is populated as a from-date value
How can we put both names of variable for the from- and to- dates to the variant attributes?

    Hi,
For the example you gave, choose Variable 'Current date - xxx, current date + yyy' , enter 365 and 0 for xxx and yyy and save the variant. When you call up that variant, you will see both 'From' and 'to' are populated.

  • Select- Color Range- Results in Blue Screen (PC)  (driver out of date)

I've been using the CS6 beta about two days.  While experimenting with color range I experienced two consecutive blue screen crashes.  The first time it happened,I was working with the color range selector and was replacing the selected areas with another color using the paint bucket.  About the third time I attempted this, my PC blue screened.  The second time, I opened a photo, went to Select>Color Range and got an immediate blue screen crash.
I then went back to CS5 and I've been playing with the same scenario with no apparent problems.
My PC is a store built computer.  It consists of an MSI 990-FXA GD80 motherboard, an AMD Phenom 1100t CPU, Asus GTX550 Ti graphics card and 8 gig of RAM.  It boots from a 60 gig SSD and my programs reside on a 500 gig hard drive.  The OS is Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.  CS6 is using the hard drive for its scratch disk and Photoshop is using 4339 mb of the 7232 mb of available RAM - I haven't changed that.  I'm running CS6 as administrator because the way it installed, it would only run in that fashion.
One disappointment during the installation was CS6 made no attempt to read my preferences from the CS5 install.  That may be covered in another post, I've not yet looked.
Please keep us informed as new betas are released, because I would like some time to work with this puppy before plunking down big bux for the upgrade.  As it is now, I'm going back to CS5.  I get mighty nervous when my super computer blue screens!

The GPU is often at root of issues like yours. I've had so many problems with Nvidia drivers for their gaming-oriented adapters (like yours) that I finally went with one of their workstation cards. I have a Quadro card with just enough RAM to make Photoshop happy. The workstation drivers are optimized for reliability, the consumer card drivers are optimized for gaming and that often means they're less stable and reliable with Photoshop.

  • How to display null values in the graphs, when i select a date range?

    Hi,
Can you please help me in achieving the below requirement:
We have a date promt, i have selected the date range from 12-Oct-2009 to 15-Oct-2009 and clicked on the go button.
In the above date range, data is only availabe on 14-Oct-2009. here the requirement is to display as all the records (12th, 13th , 14th & 15th) in the bar graph.
Currently the graph view is displaying the data only for 14-Oct-2009 in the bar graph.
If data is not available it should display in the bar graph as empty for that particular dates.
    Help is highly apprieciated.
    Thanks in Advance.
