Selection screen field problem

Hello experts..
i have a selection screen , in that i have a field   s_bwart for mseg-bwart.
some times the user will input the data in the field and sometimes he wont. we have fixed movement types combination like
11-21 , 13-24 , 13-56 , 101-543 , 101-544 etc.
if the user did not input any thing in the selection screen , i am populating s_bwart in at-selection screen event with all the mvt types. after executing the report when user presses the back button to come to the selection screen, there the s_bwart field is containing all the mvt types in single values ie in the select options screen. So the user dont want that, if he comes back nothing should be there in the selection screen field s_bwart if he has not inputted anything. if he inputs only 11 mvt type then when he comes back after executing the report he should see only 11 in the select screen field ie s_bwart. Please send the replies on how to solve the problem.

in ur program try to display values for users in START-OF-SELECTION event as it triggers after the selection screen displayed for users. if user doesn't give any input then display default values in this event. and also create a variable
for ex:
data: ws_flag type c,
         p_value type i.
after u display default values for users in selection screen assign the flag as ' X '
ws_flag = 'X'.
before leaving ur program based on flag try to do like this.
if ws_flag = ' X '.
    clear s_data. // s_data is the select options for u.
else.
     s_data = p_value. // the value which user gave in selection screen as i/p.
endif.

Assign characteristics to report selection screen in COPA

Hi all,
it seems there are 2 ways to assign characteristics to a selection screen of a COPA report:
1. Go to the form, KE35, double click on a column header and assign characteristics here and check the flag for entering variables. It seems I have to do that for all headers?
2. Goto KE30 - change the report and assign characteristics here and check the flag for entering variables.
What is the difference between those two ways? Where do I need to assign my characteristics? I seem in the 1 option I'd have to do it for all headers?

Create some authourization checks for the user. Try to check with BASIS team.
Also check if you can default entries for a particular user.

Thanks for the Reply.
But the problem comes here, when he enters both the ranges as well as single values, using the extension button provided for the select-option.
One option i found was in the layout of selection screen, to the select-option i assigned the ALPHA as conversion exit. But it says that this will be over-written once program/screen is generated.
Kindly let me know if any one has a solution for this.

Selection screen value not assigning to the value when executed for the first time

Hi ,
Im My program at selection screen there are company code, vendor account and open items at key date(takes system date as default value).
Facing problem at open items at key date - Open key date parameter is taken from LDB - KDF.
First time when I am executing the program it is taking system date value in the selection screen variable even though I have given the different date.
This problem is only when I execute for first time or press enter without giving company code.
Can any one please help us to come out of this problem.

Hi Experts,
I have created a custom table. Now, I have a program where there is a selection screen field for example "Load". After entering a value in the selection screen, and press enter, the user must be redirected to the maintenance view of the custom table to modify the specifed record.
Can anyone help me on how to do that?

What is the need to search for a program.
Use transaction SM30 or SE16 to create or maintain entries in the table.
e.g. if the Maintenance view is created on table A, then Goto transaction SM30 or SE16 and give the table name as A and proceed. This will automatically take u to the maintenance view on tha table A.

I have a requirement.I have to create a button named "HELP" at the side of Execute button in the selection screen.If I place my cursor in the selection screen field and I press that "HELP" button, I should get the Documentation help for that field.

Assign default values in selection screen of CM21

Our case is that, in CM21 selection screen, default value to the field "Plant" is appeared. W are sure that it is not because of configuration settings but not able to find why it is appearing by default. Please let us know. Thanks in advance.

Help needed in selection screen - Urgent

Hi Experts,
I have a selection screen. I have three radi buttons in that selection screen. Based on the selection of the radio buttons I need to activate corresponding selection screen parameters.
e.g : if radiobutton1 is selected, njo activation needed,
       if radiobutton2 is selected, activate selection screen parameter p_one,
       if radiobutton3 is selected, activate selection screen parameter p_two.
All three radiobuttons are attached to the same radio button group.
I have assigned the parameters p_one, p_two, p_three to MODIF ID as follows.
p_one - NULL
p_two - t01
p_three - t02.
on the selection of a radio button I want the corresponding parameter to get activated.
please help me.

Doubt on selection-screen

Hi gurus,
I done one report to get the Purchase order details. At the time of creating purchase order the users enters a One text field in the Purchase order header text of ME21N transaction. I need to fetch that field into Report. Upto this its fine. I also done this report by using the function module "READ_TEXT". The o/p is also generated successfully.
But now our client is asking, Please put that text field in selection-screen. Once he presses F4 in that field he needs to display all the values in text field. I know how to do if it is a table field. But it is a purchase order header text. Client enters different text when he creates diferent purchase orders.
Based on that text field only the report o/p will needs to display.
For example:
The User1 creats a Purchase order using ME21N. In that he enters Purchase order header text as ABC.
    when ever he creats a purchase order he enters only ABC.In this way he creats 100 Purchase orders.
if the user execute the report and in selection screen of that text field , suppose he gives a ABC, only those 100 purchase orders only needs to appear.
   Like this so many users enters no.of text items. Suppose there are 100 users. totally 100 text values will be there.
    once he presses F4 help on the selecton screen all 100 values need to display. And this is dynamic, the no may increase in future also. thats totally depends on Purcase orders.
Please guide me how to do this.

write the logic to fetch text fields into some internal table in
at selection-screen output event.
and pass this to selection-option as f4 using ...> call function 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'.
ex
at selection-screen output.
use fm "READ_TEXT". and assign all values to one internal table
then
call function 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'.

Analysis Authorization : Selection screen not appearing for query

Hi,
I am facing an issue with analysis authorization. I have created the new roles and assigned to the users. For one user when I am executing the query, the selection screen is not coming up and it shows error message to specify the variables. Whereas its running for all other users.
In S_RS_COMP I have selected Type of a reporting component as Query View, Query & Template structure. I also tried adding Variable in this field but that also did not help.
Please let me know if you have faced similar issue.

Go to your query desinger opend your query and select your variable in that you have see first "Ready Input Query" Check box is selected or not. It's not selected you can select that check box.

Instead of SCREEN-NAME use SCREEN-GROUP1 and for your select options give MODIF ID.
As follows

How to get full row from F4 pop up window into selection-screen fields

HI ,
I had a selection screen having 3 fields (vbeln, posnr, ebeln )
If i press F4 on field 1 i will get a pop up having all values.
If i click on any one row in that popup, only the first field is getting filled with the value. But i want all the other fields to be filled with the corresponding values in the screen simultaneously.
Please let me know is there any solution for this...

U should base your selection-screen on a dictionary structure whith those three fields where you assign your search help exporting all values (VBELN, POSNR and EBELN).
In this way you'll obtain what you need automatically
Else you can manage it in POV event by your selef.
