Send Datetime2 value to a SQL Procedure from Java using Hibernate

Hi All,
I Have a Procedure which takes a parameter of type datetime2.
The procedure is called from Java Hibernate.
How can I Pass datetime2 value to SQL procedure from Java?
Thanks in advance,
Shraddha Gore

You may define a global empty array in some package. Then you can do:
SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE pkg
AS
   g_empty   DBMS_SQL.varchar2_table;
END pkg;
Package created.
SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE p (
   p_tuids   IN   DBMS_SQL.varchar2_table "DEFAULT pkg.g_empty"
AS
BEGIN
   NULL;
END p;
Procedure created.
SQL> BEGIN
   p ();
END;
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    Kindly guide me as I am new to java..

  • Calling PL/SQL Procedures from Java

    Hello,
    I want to know, if it is possible to call PL/SQL Procedures from
    SQLJ(which uses htp.print from the Package web toolkit ).
    Though, it is possible to call normal procedures but if I want
    to call PL/SQL procedures with htp.print then I get I error.
    For example:
    #sql{Call html_test()};
    Can you give me a advice?
    Your help is much appreciated!
    M|ller

    Oracle's htp packages are develop to be work with
    mod_plsql/OAS/OWS webserver.
    If you are trying to use htp packages first need to instanciate
    some enviroment vars for htp packages, for example first you has
    to call to owa.initialize procedure, populate owa.cgi array and
    so on.
    If you need more information about how this toolkit works you
    could get the source of DB Prism at
    http://www.plenix.com/dbprism/ this open source framework
    includes backward compatibility with mod_plsql application and
    then includes settings of this values from Java code.
    Best regards, Marcelo.

  • Jdbc NullPointerException calling pl/sql procedure from java

    Hi.
    Getting the following exception calling a plsql procedure from jdbc.
    - Jdbc version is 10.2.0.2, but it also happens running several other variants, including 10.1.0.5.0.
    - Application is running in Weblogic 8.1.3 (8.1 SP 3).
    The procedure call itself has 2 in/out parameters which are tables (actually just 1 dimensional arrays), which I'm suspecting has something to do with the problem. I can successfully call this procedure using a plsql developer tool with the same bind parameters.
    Any ideas?

  • Bug calling PL/SQL procedure from Java

    Has anybody encountered this problem/know the solution to the following problem?
    I have a collection of Java Beans that call the database (8.1.6). The code works perfectly except when done through a user on the DB who only has permissions to execute the PL/SQL code defined by another user AND when I use the thin drivers.. using OCI works a treat.
    The error appears to be a security exception saying that no table or view was found 'ORA-00942: table or view does not exist'..
    This does not happen for all of the procedures, only the ones that return ref cursors.
    This code worked fine on Oracle8, the problem is limited to 8i and thin drivers.
    Any suggestions as to what the problem could be/confirmation that it is a bug with Oracle would be appriciated.
    Thanx,
    - Chris.

    I have seen this behavior too. Oracle, could you please respond on this one.

  • Error PLS-00306 during calling PL/SQL function from Java

    Hi all,
    I am facing a problem during call of oracle PL/SQL function from java using CallableStatement.
    I receive following error message.
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-06550: line 1, column 13:
    PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'EXPORT_HIST_ALARMS_FUNC'
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    As per above error EXPORT_HIST_ALARMS_FUNC in oracle has this signature.
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION EXPORT_HIST_ALARMS_FUNC(startDateTime VARCHAR2, endDateTime VARCHAR2, meType VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
    END EXPORT_HIST_ALARMS_FUNC;
    Above function I have called following way in java.
    String sql = "begin ?:= EXPORT_HIST_ALARMS_FUNC(?, ?, ?); end;" ;
    CallableStatement cStatement = null;
    cStatement = connection.prepareCall(sql);
    cStatement.registerOutParameter(1,Types.VARCHAR);
    cStatement.setString(2,startDateTime);
    cStatement.setString(3,endDateTime);
    cStatement.setString(4,meType);
    cStatement.execute();
    msg = cStatement.getString(1);
    Actually above function requires three input parameters and one return parameter.
    During execution of above java code it throws SQLException and shows PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'EXPORT_HIST_ALARMS_FUNC' error.
    I have run this function directly from oracle with three parameters and run successfully and finally it returns string.
    But I am unable to figure out why it doesn't run from above java code.
    Please help regarding this.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Shardul Banker

    Try this:
    String sql = "begin ?:= EXPORT_HIST_ALARMS_FUNC(?, ?, ?); end;" ;
    CallableStatement cStatement = null;
    cStatement = connection.prepareCall(sql);
    cStatement.registerOutParameter(1,Types.VARCHAR);
    cStatement.setString(1,startDateTime);
    cStatement.setString(2,endDateTime);
    cStatement.setString(3,meType);
    cStatement.execute();
    msg = cStatement.getString(1);Regards,

  • How to send a Varying Array param to a PL/SQL Stored Procedure from Java

    * I am VERY new to jdbc, and even somewhat new to Java
    * I'm using Java 1.5, Oracle 10g.
    * I need to call the following PL/SQL Stored Procedure from Java:
    procedure setEventStatus
    i_deQueueStatus in deQueueStatus_type
    *deQueueStatus_type is the following (an array of deQueueStatus_OBJ):
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE deQueueStatus_OBJ as object
    eventID number (20),
    dequeuestatus varchar2(20)
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE deQueueStatus_TYPE IS VARYING ARRAY(500) of deQueueStatus_obj
    *I have created a Java object as follows:
    public class EventQueueDeQueueStatus
         long      eventID;
         String      dequeueStatus;
         EventQueueDeQueueStatus(long eventID, String dequeueStatus)
              this.eventID = eventID;
              this.dequeueStatus = dequeueStatus;
    I have an ArrayList of these.
    I need to pass this list to the Stored Procedure. How do I create a java.sql.Array so I can call CallableStatement.setArray to set the parameter? Or do I use something else? I have tried setObject with both the ArrayList and also with a primitive array, but got "Invalid Column Type" both times.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just got this task today, and I have to make it work by Tuesday :-( !
    Thanks,
    Kathy

    Kathy,
    Search the archives of this forum and the JDBC forum for the terms STRUCT and ARRAY and you can find some sample code on the JDBC How-To Documents page and the JDBC Samples which can both be accessed from this page:

  • Problem sending a value to pls/ql procedure

    Hi
    i have a weirdly probelm in my MDB.
    I will try to explain the problem below.
    I have an MDB that recives an XML and retrieves a vlue from XMl and sends it to a pl/sql procedure for processing and storing it.
    String input = ixml.getParent();
    cs = connection.prepareCall("begin custom.get_activity_children(?); end;");
    cs.setString(1, input);
    cs.setQueryTimeout(TIME_OUT);
    cs.execute();
    it is done in the below manner
    the pl/sql receives this and call an API method get children
    proceudure get_children (input varchar2) IS
    result tabtype;
    Begin
    insert into Test values(input);
    schema.get_children_api(input,result);
    insert into Test values(result.count );
    insert into Children_id values (result(1));
    END;
    Test table carried values "12345" and "0". Also note that input value was received correctly by pl/sql procedure.
    This being the situation the messages received in the MDB has a valid input value but it still returns the result.count as 0.
    So ib tested it in another way,
    i wrote a stand alone pl/sql procedure like below,
    DECLARE
    input varchar2 := '12345';
    result tabtype;
    Begin
    insert into Test values(input);
    schema.get_children_api(input,result);
    insert into Test values(result.count );
    insert into Children_id values (result(1));
    END;
    Test table carried values "12345" and "0".
    but here i get the correct out put and result is set to 1.

    The question isn't all that clear to me.
    But myself I never rely on 'count' values returned from the API.
    The only sure thing is that it either threw an exception or it didn't. Other than that you must structure your SQL such that it returns results if you need them.

  • How to call a PL/SQL procedure from a Java class?

    Hi,
    I am new to the E-BusinessSuite and I want to develop a Portal with Java Portlets which display and write data from some E-Business databases (e.g. Customer Relationship Management or Human Resource). These data have been defined in the TCA (Trading Community Architecture) data model. I can access this data with PL/SQL API's. The next problem is how to get the data in the Java class. So, how do you call a PL/SQL procedure from a Java program?

    Hi,
    Mistakes i found in the script,
    1. You need to pass the variables with the "-<YOUR PROJECT CODE>.VARIABLE NAME" which i suppose would be in UPPER CASE.
    2. You need to pass OdiPrevStepLog with <%=%> enclosed. So your script will looks like,
    OdiStartScen "-SCEN_NAME=PROC_LOGEXE_STATUS" "-SCEN_VERSION=-1" "-LOG_LEVEL=3" "-SYNC_MODE=1" "-SESSION_NAME=PROC_CSA_LOGEXE_STATUS_CS_BRANCHES" "-FLEXCUBE_OFSAA.v_execution_status=E" "-PROJECT1.v_scen_int_name=A" "-PROJECT1.v_batch_id=PKG_GLOBAL_MNT_HANDOFF" "-PROJECT1.v_step_name=<%=odiRef.getPrevStepLog( "STEP_NAME" )%>"
    Thanks,

  • Deploy warnings using a PL/SQL procedure (from a Public Transform Package)

    OWB Version: 10.2
    I am receiving the following warnings when I attempt to deploy a map that contains a reference to a custom pl/sql procedure that is setup in a public transformation package:
    Warning
    ORA-06550: line 115, column 32:
    PLS-00112: end-of-line in quoted identifier
    ORA-06550: line 115, column 9:
    PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "." when expecting one of the following:
    := . ( @ % ; not null range default character
    I reviewed the OWB generated code and I discovered the OWB is a adding two double quotes in front of any reference to the package name. For example.....
    BEGIN
    COMMIT;
    sql_stmt := 'ALTER SESSION DISABLE PARALLEL DML';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt;
    IF NOT ""ZZTEST"."INIT_SF_USER_CLAS_St" THEN
    * note the "" in front of ZZTEST, which is the package name.
    Has anyone else encountered this issue? I can manually correct the generated the code, but it would be overridden every the time the map is deployed. I encounter the same issue if I import a custom pl/sql procedure from the database into OWB using the Metadata Import Wizard and use the imported procedure in a map. However, I can setup an standalone procedure or function as a public transformation and the map deploys successfully. Please advise.
    Regards,
    Matt

    You have to create a job to start your procedure.
    Example :
    * http://psoug.org/reference/OLD/dbms_job.html
    Then create a procedure to start your job, call it from your dashboard and you're done.
    Success

  • Calling PL/SQL procedures from a Windows CMD script

    Hello,
    I am writing a Windows CMD script. From this script I want to call procedures from a PL/SQL package which selects, inserts or deletes rows from the database.
    How do I go about logging into the database from the cmd script and calling PL/SQL procedures from there?
    Does anyone have any examples of such scripts? Thanks in advance.

    No, it is not a job that needs to be scheduled.
    The script will be used when needed to select info from a certain table and also to insert or delete certain info into/from this table (so, it is just simple sql statements which I have put into a package), but I'm sure how to log into the database and execute the procedures from this package in a cmd script.
