Send mail problem having invalid address with correct addresses

I used java mail api to send mails. the code is a s below
javax.mail.Session mailSession=(javax.mail.Session)ctx.lookup("java:/Mail");
mailSession.setDebug(false);
javax.mail.Message msg = new javax.mail.internet.MimeMessage(mailSession);
msg.addRecipients(javax.mail.Message.RecipientType.TO, addressToArr);
msg.setSubject(mailSubject);
msg.setContent(mailBody, contentType);
javax.mail.Transport.send(msg);
But if there is an invalid address in the recipient address array, the email won't be sent to the correct addresses as well. i just want to know whther it happens any coding issues or our mail server implementation.

Hi!
You need to activated properties config mail.smtp.sendpartial to true :
// Setup partial mail
props.put("mail.smtp.sendpartial", (new Boolean(partial)).toString());
if the recipient address array have bad address, it will still be sent to good address...
or/and check email address before send mail :
public static boolean isValidEmail(String email)
          if (email == null) return false;
          boolean valid = true;
          try
               InternetAddress addr = new InternetAddress(email);
               addr.validate();
          catch (AddressException ex)
               valid = false;
          return valid;
}regards,

  • Send Mail Problem with .Mac

    I cand send mail successfully from other accounts configured on the phone(both POP and IMAP), but I get errors when sending from my .Mac account.
    I found this article:
    http://www.wireless.att.com/support/knowledgeBase.do?content=KB72769.html
    ...but .Mac account config pages on the iPhone don't provide a field for Outgoing Server to change. Actually, this article fixed the problem with my other accounts.

    Thanks for the reply, Nathan.
    I had already found that article. Snip below...
    iPhone includes preset configurations for many of the
    popular providers such as Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, .Mac,
    and AOL, and in most cases sending mail will just
    work.
    However if you are using a different provider
    than above...
    Unfortunately, if you select ".Mac" for type of
    account, the configuration screen does not provide a
    field at all for Outgoing Server. This suggestion
    only works if you are not using one of the providers
    listed. It is apparently hardcoded by Apple when you
    choose ".Mac". I also tried to fool it by creating a
    generic IMAP account, but providing my .Mac info.
    This didn't work either.
    then don't select .mac, just select "Other", then select POP (or IMAP).
    incoming mail server: mail.mac.com
    outgoing mail server: smtp.mac.com:587
    enter in your username and password
    i set up my .Mac email manually by selecting "Other" and choosing POP and it is working fine.

  • HT201320 Hi , I'm with outlook but I can no longer send mail, problem

    What can I do about not being able to send mail? I'm with outlook

    Hi there stan137,

  • Yet another can receive, but can't send mail problem.

    I’m having trouble with Mail. I have reviewed the various posts by others who have a similar problem. I’ve tried their suggestions, but none have worked for me. I just bought a new G5 PowerMac. I have set the account preferences exactly like my PowerMac G4 and PowerBook G4, but I cannot send messages on any account. I can receive messages. When I try to forward a message by clicking the forward button, nothing happens - no new reply window appears. Likewise, when I compose new message and click the send button nothing happens. My setting are correct and the same as the other Macs noted above. Both of them will send and receive messages using the same DSL connection as the G5. I have two hard drives on my G5 both with OS 10.4.3 installed. I use the second drive to start up on when I have trouble with my main drive. I started on the other drive, which had no mail settings, and tried to set up my accounts. In this case I got a message stating that the mail server could not be accessed. I went ahead and set the accounts anyway, then made sure the settings were correct. This implies that there is something wrong with my new G5 or there is a bug with Mail using the G5 since I have no problems with the other Macs. I haven't time to contact the help line and hope someone knows how to fix this problem.

    Hi Dancing Brave,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    I recommend starting with the steps in this article if you are not able to send mail:

  • Can't send mail on iOS 5 devices with iCloud

    A long time ago I signed up for a .Mac trial to use that address with iChat. The trial expired, and, as expected, the address continued to work with iChat, though it no longer functioned as an email address. It then came to be my Apple ID. Now, having set that Apple ID up for use with iCloud, my iOS devicess are having trouble sending, and only sending email from my iCloud address. The reason is this: I logged into <username>@mac.com for iCloud (as that's my Apple ID), and everything set up right except the mail address that iOS Mail thinks I have. It thinks the mail address for the iCloud account is <username>@mac.com. When I send mail to <username>@me.com, my iOS devices get it just fine, but when I try to send mail back, it tries to send it from the @mac.com address, and therefore fails as that is not a valid email address.
    I've tried to go into the settings and change the email address that it uses for iCLoud, but with no luck. I see a place to change it, but it is grayed out and won't let me select it and bring up a keyboard to change it.
    Is there any way to tell it that it assumed the wrong email address for my iCloud? Or is there no way to send iCloud email from my iOS devices?
    Thanks in advance!
    P.S. I can send mail via iCloud from the web app and from Apple Mail (OS X Lion), but not from iOS devices because of this glitch. I can also send mail from iOS devices using other email accounts (Gmail, Yahoo).

    I found a work around that works.   Got to Settings...Icloud....account......advanced....outgoing mail server.....
    Add an "other" server.
    Host Name p01-smtp.mail.me.com
    Put in your me.com email address as username and your Apple ID password
    SSL is on
    Authentication is password
    Server port 587
    This worked for me.....I will use this until the bug is fixed.  (you may need to use p02, p03 etc)   Don't make this server your primary.   Leave it in "on" status in the other category.
    Good luck

  • Can't send mail due to "One of the recipient addresses was incorrect" error

    I have my iPhone set up with two mail accounts: my personal Yahoo account and my work e-mail account ([email protected], for example). I can send/receive email fine with my personal account, but for my work account, I cannot send any mail to any email addresses that are not people at my work with the same domain name (I can send to [email protected], but not [email protected]).
    I thought the problem had to be with my settings, but I compared my settings on the iPhone with how I have my work email set up in Thunderbird and even Apple Mail. They're the same! So I'm at a loss. Any ideas?
    Thanks!!

    More than likely, yes, but since a MobileMe account is accessed as an IMAP account, when accessing the account with an email client you have the option to store messages on the server or locally on the hard drive or device. If your account has been compromised and someone is accessing the account with an email client on their computer, they could choose not to store the sent messages on the server so you wouldn't see them.

  • Sending mail to a contact group with a numeric name

    Hello!
    I have a problem when sending mail to a contact group. The contact group is named "1234", and in Mail the autocompletion of the address is not performed successfully.
    However, if I rename the group to "A1234" then it all works. Sounds like a bug to me.
    Also, I have 31 people in my contact group. And, when adding the "A1234" group in the To: field - not all in the contact group are added. (And yes, they all have valid email addresses)
    This also sounds like a bug to me. Or, am I missing something?
    I should also add that when - in the address book - I select the group and "Send email to group", not all people in the group are added either...
    Cheers,
    / Peter

    Your email provider limits the number of email addresses you can send to at once, so it's likely you exceeded that limit, thus causing their server to hang. Check with them to find out that limit, then try reducing the number of recipients your sending to in that group to that number or less.

  • Germany - sending mail problem

    as many before am not able to send mail from my private email account - neither via edge nor when using wifi. However it works from my .Mac account. It is an SMTP issue. My ISP tells me that the server drops after ehlo. In order to gather some more information, I have this question to the proud folks sporting a new t- mobile iPhone since Friday:
    What SMTP server is recomended by t-mobile when sending via edge (if they do recomend one at all)?
    Anyone having the same problems out there with an idea why theserver may drop conection and a work around (other than using a different ISP)
    Thanx,
    Christoph

    Not sure but since .Mac's SMTP server is authenticated and this works when sending messages from the iPhone with your .Mac account, this indicates your ISP's SMTP server is not authenticated or something else is wrong.
    Did you transfer the account settings from your computer to the iPhone via the iTunes sync process?
    If so, try deleting the account and manually recreating the account on the iPhone but if this works and you did transfer the account settings from your computer to the iPhone via the sync process, be sure to deselect this option before the next sync or your changes made on the iPhone will be overwritten.

  • Sending mail problem on iPod Touch

    Suddenly, and I mean suddenly, I cannot send mail from my Touch. It tells me that "sender address is invalid." I checked all my settings and my contact info and all is correct. Anyone have any idea what's going on? I can get mail but can't send without that warning message.

    If you can send mail from your mac, did you try to replace the account settings on your iPod, using this option in the info pane, advanced section? Then try again to send mails.

  • Cant send mail from i phone 3s, with a tiscali account

    I can no longer send mail from my tiscali mail account on my i phone 3s, or my ipad without going through web mail account. please can anyone advise

    Isn't mail.virgin.net the name of the Incoming Server -- the incoming server, which you say is working is set up at Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information as to name of the server, Username, and password, along with entries in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced for Port select for the Incoming.
    However, if that is working for you, you must have it correct. For the Outgoing server, isn't the proper name for Virgin services smtp.virgin.net? In Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information, click on the arrows beside the name of the SMTP, and choose Edit Server List. Remove all, or all but one of any references to the smtp.virgin.net. Enter anew, or with the remaining server, click on the Advanced Tab there, and choose Use Custom Ports. Then enter the Custom Port to be Port 25, and set the Authentication to None, and have no entries in Username or Password. This is consistent with those specs I can online saying the SMTP does not require Authentication.
    Also click Use this server only. Now if the smtp.virgin.net server is online, it should work.

  • Sending mail problem via php mail()

    I have a PHP server  with Apache 2 and PHP 4 and 5 and MySQL
    I have a very very simple  mail script that only works with @gmail.com, hotmail.com etc
    But  say if I had an email address for my company "[email protected]" it  does not go through.
    Is this a PHP issue or a Server issue?
    How  can I fix this as my customer is being an Arse!
    mail("$mail1","Thank you for registering with $sitename",
    "You have registered this email address at $sitename \n
    Email: $mail1
    Password: $pass
    Date/Time: $date","FROM:$adminaddress");

    First, you need to talk to your host, and have them install PEAR::Mail, and have them put the Mail.php path into the php.ini include path directive.
    Here is a function I was using some time ago, before I switched to Zend Mail.
    You need to edit / add the BOLD parts
    <?php
    require_once("Mail.php");
    function sendEmail($to_mail, $to_name, $from_mail, $from_name, $subject, $body){
         $from = $from_name." <".$from.">";
         $to = $to_name." <".$to.">";
         $recipients = $to_mail;
         $headers["From"] = $from;
         $headers["To"] = $to;
         $headers["Subject"] = $subject;
         $headers["Reply-To"] = $from_mail;
         $headers["Content-Type"] = "text/plain; charset=UTF-8";
         $headers["MIME-Version"] = "1.0";
         $headers["Return-path"] = $from_mail;
         $headers["X-Priority"] = "3";
         $headers["X-MSmail-Priority"] = "Normal";
         $smtpinfo["host"] = "YOUR MAIL SERVER HERE";
         $smtpinfo["port"] = "25";
         $smtpinfo["auth"] = true;
         $smtpinfo["username"] = "YOUR EMAIL LOGIN USER HERE";
         $smtpinfo["password"] = "YOUR LOGIN PASSWORD HERE";
         $mail_object =& Mail::factory("smtp", $smtpinfo);
         $mail_object->send($recipients, $headers, $mailmsg);
    ?>
    To send email:
    <?php
    sendEmail($mail1,
    $recipient_name,
    $from_mail,
    $from_name, "Thank you for registering with $sitename", "You have registered this email address at $sitename \n
    Email: $mail1
    Password: $pass
    Date/Time: $date","FROM:$adminaddress");

  • Sending mail problems -- help

    hello all,
    I have two databases one in a DMZ and one that is not call it (local)
    On local I have created a mail procedure that can send mail to users.
    The same procedure does not work on the machine in the DMZ.
    I thought it might have something to do with being in the DMZ
    so I created an account in microsoft express and sent my self a message which I recieved.
    Any help on why I can't get the database procedure to work would be apprecieated.

    I am going to pass these values in a function call to a variable and concatenate them.

    This make life a lot easier to know what the person was doing when they had the problem.
