Send report output as pdf attachment (without collecting spool )

I used to do this requirement by collecting the spool and then convert it to pdf. But in this case we should use the report output ( NOT FROM SPOOL )  and convert it to PDF and send it as email attachment.

I can think of these options. Please explore on the possibilities.
1) Create one MAIN Report , which will submit your report. Get the List output from memory. Convert the Data to PDF and send the PDF as attachment in mail.
2)  Create a smartform which will be called in your report. Convert the returned data to PDF and then send the PDF as attachment in mail.
3) Create one MAIN Report , which will submit your report thorugh a JOB. Wait for the JOB to be completed. Convert the ABAP Spool data to PDF and send the PDF as attachment in mail.

    I am using the code form the following link to send a smartform output as PDF attachment. I can able to see the message, but can not open PDF document.

  • Send pages document as pdf attachment without including the whole document in the message

    What I am trying to do is to write a document in pages then send it as a pdf attachment which shows as a mail icon in the mail message.  One then clicks on the icon and the attached file opens.  Seems I can do it if I send it as a word doc but every time I try and send it as a PDF the whole document shows up in the email body....
    Is there something I am not doing?

    Hi Gee,
    We also tried this:
    Wrote document in Pages and used "export" to save it as a PDF document.
    Fired up Mail, clicked on add attachment and as usual we got the document in the body
    Highlighted the document and right clicked.
    In drop down menu we selected "show as Icon" and it did just that
    We then sent it to our Tablet where, believe it or not it came up as an attachment NOT in the body of the mail.
    Just shaking our heads on this on but I do really think Jerry is absolutely right so will not take any more chances and add a second page if I have to send a pdf......

      i am trying to send the contents of an internal table from my report as email using PDF attachment. I have coded the logic and i get the attachment in the email. When i try to open the attachement, i cannot open it.

  • Send Smartforms Output as pdf Attachment in E-Mail

    I've searched quite a long time and tried to use different examples I've found in the forum but it doesn't work for me.
    I tried to do the following:
    Send output of smartforms by mail to a specified e-mail adress. Sometimes there have to be sent 2 pdf's (both are output of smartforms) in one e-mail.
    The function to download the output of smartform with FM CONVERT_OTF_2_PDF and GUI_DOWNLOAD works fine for me but I couldn't get the FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to work.
    Can someone give me an example or a description to get from the output of the smartform to the e-mail with attachment?
    I'm pretty new to this so it maybe is a very simple question.

    I can think of these options. Please explore on the possibilities.
    1) Create one MAIN Report , which will submit your report. Get the List output from memory. Convert the Data to PDF and send the PDF as attachment in mail.
    2)  Create a smartform which will be called in your report. Convert the returned data to PDF and then send the PDF as attachment in mail.
    3) Create one MAIN Report , which will submit your report thorugh a JOB. Wait for the JOB to be completed. Convert the ABAP Spool data to PDF and send the PDF as attachment in mail.

               i am using 'SX_OBJECT_CONVERT_OTF_PDF' func. module to convert my otf data to pdf and using the  func. module 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1'  for sending the mail with the PDF attachment. I am able to send the mail and i can see the mail attachment in my out box  of business work place..i can open the attachment and read it. but after i sent the mail to other e-mail if i open the document..it is showing as the attachment file is corrupted and i am unable to read it.
    can any one help me on this.

    Do you get this problem only for DESFORMAT=PDF ?
    Test with :
    DESFORMAT = RTF, DESNAME = C:\x.rtf
    or
    DESFORMAT = HTMLCSS, DESNAME = C:\x.html
    does it work ?
    Check if DESNAME is modified in the reports itself.

    Problem Description:
    We are presently facing an issue in Payables not getting the report output in PDF esp for the reports "Invoice Register", Invoice Hold Report and also other reports. We were able to generate the reports till our last test performed on last Thursday. This instance was cloned over the last weekend and probably the new upgrade to RUP5 R12,would have impacted it.
    Concurrent Programs submitted are completed normal but on clicking "view output" results in Blank PDF output.
    The error message what was shown is as below:
    "Adobe Reader could not open 'AcrC.tmp' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)".
    Where could we locate ther above 'AcrC.tmp' of Adobe Reader..
    could anyone please share such an experience encountered for resolution..

    I suggest you speak to your DBA/sysadmin. This is not likely to be a reports problem.
    Check that you can see the output from apps through the viewer (the report may not hav output anything)
    Check whether you can print anything on that printer from apps.
    May also be worth checking to see if you can print to another printer from this report.

    Thanks for the reply.
    In this I am using the FM 'CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'. I have checked the settings from SPAD that is also same in both servers for particular output device. But the patches are diffrennt in both the servers, the server from which layout is not coming properly having the high level patches in compare to the other server(which is working fine).

    I am getting XML Publisher report output in excel format by using options tab while submitting the concurrent request .
    But i want to get excel output automatically.
    Can anyone give idea to get XML publisher Report output in excel without selecting options tab.

    Hey Sandeep,
    I am working on a similar format for a report and if possible can you please give me some guidelines. I have initially created reports using XML Publisher, but for those , the output preview format was PDF. So, if I select the preview format as EXCEL will it give me output in Excel and for this to happen, how do I define the rtf template. I believe the working will be same as for PDF, create a rdf report, get output in XML and apply the template to get the data in Excel or there is something different to this.

  • Converting report output to pdf by submit spooland email to multiple vendor

    Hi all,
               my current program converting the report output to pdf and then downaloding andsending  to vendor email.If user enter single vendor is o.k. but if suppose user enter multiple vendors,report is dipalying with multiple vendor information and all this information converting to one pdf file only.but i need particular vendor pdf have particular vendor info only excluding remaining vendor info.I am pasting my code.can anyone suggest?

  • How to send an ouput as PDF attachment to email

    Hi,
    We have a 'Z' output for a delivery document. The output has the standard RLE_DELNOTE driver program and a Zsmart form assigned to it. We need to send the output as an attachment to email. Can some one please adivice how this can be achieved?

    Hi,
    Plz try following steps.
    1. Note the spool request No.
    2. In T/code SE38, Enter The programme and execute.
    3. In sub Object- Click Documentation and then do debuggung.
    4.Enter spool request no and desired location and execute.
    5. In ABAP Debugger- Use F8 key.
    6. Select the desired location and file name and save.
    View the desired output in PDF and can be sent through mail.
