Sending a file (.pdf) as an attachment via e-mail

Hi,
I have a selection screen with purchase order number as "select-options" and 2 radio buttons one for downloading and opening the SAP Script output to the local file and the other raido button would convert the SAP Script output into .pdf file and send that file as an attachment via e-mail to the receipent(only one).
I'm through with the first operation. Now need to know about the e-mailing procedure and the function module(s) to be used and their import, export, etc. parameters.
Thanks & Regards,
Rajesh

    How do I send a file that is 2 mb via adobe send file now. I have the student version of cs 6. Does this cost money, or can I send a certain size for free. I just want to send a file so I can access it on my ipad. It's a PDF that is too large to email.

    Adobe Send can certainly do that.
    Or you can do it manually:
    upload the file to Acrobat.com
    check the file on the Acrobat.com site and click Send
    use Create Anonymous Link and click the Create Link button
    copy the created download link and send it by email

  • Sending smartforms as PDF attachement via e mail

    Hello all:
    I have configured PPF actions to send smartforms as PDF attchment via e mail it works fine in one client.
    But when I copied the transport to another client, the entries in field 'Recipient' in the configuration step 'Define Conditions and Output Parameters for Comm. of Cust.Shipm. & Cust.Dcl'  are not copied to the new client. I had maintained the name of the inbox folder that has e mail addresses in this field. Any one has a similar issue ? Or is this similar to the number ranges and not transportable and we have to maintain them in every client. Any insight into this very much appreciated.

    Hello:
    If you want to send the smartform as a PDF attachment, configure your PPF action as described below:
    Step 1: Define Techn. Medium for Msgs (PPF Actions) f. Cust. Shipm. and Cust. Decl.
                In the action definition, choose processing type as 'External Communication'
                                                             form type:  'Smart Forms'
                                                             format: /SAPSLL/FORM_PROC
                                                             personalization type: 2 object specific....
                Make this action definition partner function dependent and create a Z partner function. Maintain that
                partner function in this definition.
    Step 2: Define Conditions and Output Parameters for Comm. of Cust.Shipm. & Cust.Dcl
                Select Communication Method: Internet Mail
                          Mail Settings: send status: 3
    Configure the reamaining PFF actions as usual.
    This will work if that configured partner function is maintained in the customs declaration. And for that business partner, maintain the e mail address in the address dependent section via txn BP.

    Hi,
    Edit your  logo as 256 color bit map image and save it  and upload  into SE78,
    And also better to use this FM :SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1  it is good for new versions.
    thanks,

    Simplest might well be to use javamail API instead of the two tags that Sites provides, e.g. see email - Sending mail attachment using Java - Stack Overflow for a full example.

  • Sending Flat file as an Email Attachment

    Hi,
    I have configured Mail Adapter to send XML Payload as an attachment .
    But now i need to send Flat file as an attachment using Mail Adpater . Can any body help me out in this regard

    Hi Vinay,
    Yes , steps will same as earlier, use the blog i provided you.
    *Configuring the Receiver Mail Adapter*
    For outgoing mails, you need SMTP or IMAP4 access to your mail server. To access the mail server, enter the following URL:
    smtp://YourServer or imap://YourServer/YourInbox
    By selecting the Use Mail Package checkbox, you can include additional information to the XI message payload, that is, the mail sender.
    If the mail has a plain-text format, you can select the Use Mail Package checkbox to convert the mail message to XML.
    Working with Mail Packages
    You can dynamically set the sender, receiver, and mail title by using the mail package format. When the mail package format is used, your structure of the payload must adhere to the structure of the mail package.
    You can create the mail package structure using the graphical mapping tool. The XSD of the mail package is provided as an attachment in SAP Note 748024.
    Creating a Mail Package with XSLT Mapping
    If you want to determine the mail receiver dynamically from a payload field, but want the
    payload to be sent unchanged, sometimes it is too complicated to use the graphical
    mapping tool to create the mapping. The following figure provides an XSLT example that you can use, if your original payload provides the tags sender, receiver, and subject. The XSLT will set these values and copy the whole payload to the Content tag. The original payload will be the mail body.
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
    version="1.0">
    <xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes" />
    <xsl:template match="*">
    <ns:Mail xmlns:ns="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
    <Subject><xsl:value-of select="//subject"/></Subject>
    <From><xsl:value-of select="//sender"/></From>
    <To><xsl:value-of select="//receiver"/></To>
    <Content><xsl:copy-of select="/"/></Content>
    </ns:Mail>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    When you use the MessageTransformBean module in the module processor
    configuration of the communication channel, you can directly apply the XSLT mapping to the adapter module.
    Enter localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean as the first module. Select
    the Type Local Enterprise Bean and select a value for Module Key.
    You can also use the XSLT file for an interface mapping in the Integration Repository.
    Changing the Name and Type of the Payload
    By default, the payload of the XI message is sent as an attachment. If you use mail
    package, the mail text in the Content tag is sent as a mail body (inline). If you want to change this or influence the name of the attachment, you can do this using the
    MessageTransformBean module.
    Enter localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean as the first module.
    Select the Type Local Enterprise Bean and select a value for Module Key.
    If you use the Mail Package, then you have to apply the Mime type in the tag
    Content_Type:
    <ns:Mail xmlns:ns="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30">
    <Subject>Hello</Subject>
    <From>[email protected]</From>
    <To>[email protected]</To>
    <Content>This is a mail</Content>
    <Content_Type>text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1";
    name="MyFile.xml"</Content_Type>
    </ns:Mail>
    Exactly how the mail content is displayed at the receiver end depends on the mail client. If the customer has a different mailing system, the mail look may look different at the customer side.
    *_Sending a Mail with Attachment  (That is what you need)_*
    If you want to send a mail with a body and attachment, or with several attachments, the message sender has to provide an XI message with additional attachments. For each additional payload of the XI message, the mail adapter creates an attachment for the mail. To enable this feature, you select the Keep Attachments checkbox when configuring the mail adapter. By default, the payload of the message is also sent as an attachment. If you do not want the payload to be sent as an attachment, set ContentDisposition to inline. If you want to give each attachment a certain name, you can use the swap module. The swap module changes the main payload.
    Enter the localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean module as Local
    Enterprise Bean between the two modules that change the attachment names.
    Select a value for Module Key.
    You can find the name of the payload that you want to set as the main payload in the XI message monitor (SXMB_MONI).
    Useful SAP Notes
    SAP Note 748024: Here you can download the XSD structure of the Mail Package.
    SAP Note 794943: Description of the module “PayloadSwapBean”
    SAP Note 793922: Description of the module
    Hope this will help you.

  • How to send ALV list report as html attachment in a mail??

    Hi all,
    I have an ALV report which I want to send as an HTML attachment in a mail to an external id. I know that spool can be converted to HTML attachment in a mail. But I don't want to have 2 programs - one for generating ALV and the other to send mail with the spool-converted of the first report as attachment. I want to send the mail in the same program itself. Is it possible? Helpful answers will be suitably rewarded.

    Hi Sandip,
    In your ALV program after the alv output is build in the program do the following steps.
    1). Export the list to memory
    2). Import the list from mempry
    3). Do a COmpress of the data
    4). Send an email as an attachment using the normal FM.
    Take a look at the following links which will explain how to do the above steps.
    http://www.geocities.com/mpioud/Z_EMAIL_ABAP_REPORT.html
    http://www.thespot4sap.com/Articles/SAP_Mail_SO_Object_Send.asp
    http://www.sapdevelopment.co.uk/reporting/email/attach_xls.htm
    remember to change the doc type as 'HTM' in the FM to send email.
    Cheers

  • Dynamic file name of the attachment in receiver mail adapter

    Hi
    I have configured a receiver mail adapter which receives the payload as an xml attachment.
    Right now the file name of the attachment is hardcoded to "invoice.xml".
    I want to set it to dynamic ie. instead of "invoice.xml"... i want it as "invoice<invoicenumber>.xml".
    Invoice number is present in the payload.
    please suggest a solution w/o the need to develop a custom adapter module.

    I'd like to send a internal SAP(express)-mail

    It's the same thing you can do with generic object services, GOS, to send a SAP business object as mail notification

    Can I use the function 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1' or

    Hello, I just bought the premiere cc 2014 pro and I get a confirmation number order, I wanted to know if they will send me the serial number it sent via e mail

    Some general information
    Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back
    in to the Cloud for things to work

  • Sending out a PDF as an attachment to a calling application via PI

    Hi folks,
    I have a Sync scenario:
    SOAP<->PI<->ECC
    An application makes a soap call to PI makes the same to ECC.
    ECC responds with a PDF(Binary) in the reponse payload, PI will need to extract this and put it out in an attachment.
    Has anyone worked on this scenario? Can you please give me your guidance and inputs?
    Appreciate your help!
    Hank

    Hi,
    this is very easy just have a look at my blog:
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2006/04/19/xi-rfc-or-abap-proxy-abap-proxies-with-attachments
    just pass the proxy reponse to soap and you're done

    Hi ABAP Gurus ,
    Good Morning !
    I converted a smartform to PDF and sended to function SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to send a mail external...
    So, when I tried to open the file attachment, I can't open this file. and I watch a message : 'There was a error in opening the document . The file is damaged and could not be repaired '.
    In one of the earlier threds on www. sdn.sap.com i found a solustion which says to use class CL_BCS but I don't know how to use this class or rather use classes in ABAP Programs .
    I would be thankful if I am provided the sample code or some help regarding this issue .
    I think if somebody provides a solution on how to use function SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 that would make me Relieved .
    Regards,
