Sending an Email from Oracle soa 11g BPEL

Hi all,
We have a requirement to send a list of values, obtained as the result of DB query, in the email body.
When i directly assign the obtained collection variable in the email body it throws selection error. It would be of great help if any one could suggest the proper way for sending a list of values in the email body.
Regards,
Balaji Radhakrishnan

Hi,
In 11.1.1.2 there are some use cases when using the getVariableData() function can lead to selection failure error. Indeed when you are trying to select an element in a collection you get a selection failure because in 11.1.1.2, Oracle is compliant with the BPEL specification, as mentioned in metalink:
Metalink Bug reference: 1059635.1
Hope this help

    The SMTP server to which PL/SQL connects needs to be YOUR corporate email (MTA) server & configured to RELAY message.

    NONE of this is related to Oracle RDBMS!

    It is your responsibility to format a valid Mime body as the e-mail. The SMTP protocol is merely the delivery vehicle. It delivers the cargo, whatever it is. Your code needs to package that cargo correctly.
    Have a look at Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions specifications that governs the formatting of e-mail.
    Or use a more abstract API like UTL_MAIL that enables you to submit HTML as e-mail and simply mark that using the relevant Mime type (e.g. html/text) - it will format that as a proper Mime body and use SMTP to deliver it.

  • Email from oracle stored procedure

    Can any one provide sample code for sending email from oracle stored procedure please.

    What do you mean "clicked on my link" and "login
    page"? It sounds like you're describing a web based
    interface, which would imply that you were using the
    HTTP protocol, not SMTP, and connecting on port 80
    (or 443 if you're using HTTPS). If you want to send
    an email from Oracle, you're going to need access to
    an SMTP server, not a HTTP server.
    JustinSorry. I was trying different things to test it. I put that link in an email just to test if it was valid. I am using the util_smtp package. Have you gotten this to work?

  • ACL error when sending email from Oracle 11g

    Hi,
    It returned something like "error...ACL security" when I tried to send email from Oracle 11g. Is there any security thing that I need to release in Oracle 11g? I used to send emails from Oracle 10g and didn't find any problem.
    Thanks.
    Andy

    In Database 11g Oracle introduced Network Access Control Lists (ACLs) to protect the database from users using the many internet-capable packages such as UTL_INADDR, UTL_HTTP, UTL_TCP, etc.
    Read all about it in the docs and look at the code demos here:

  • Send email from oracle

    Dear member & developers
    I want to send e mail from oracle application. If anybody knows, how to do this. please write or send a sample application or forms or database sql. I don't restricted to any application version like 10g or 11g same as database...
    I seriously need it.
    Thanks in Advanced.

    As Francois indicated - there are multiple examples around the internet and in the forums. Any email solution you choose is going to require that you have access to a valid email server (SMTP, POP3, etc). Also, the solution is dependent on "Where" you want to send the email from. I prefer a database solution because this makes it available to your entire database application, but you can use a Java email method (using Forms PJC or Java Bean) or you can OLE link to Microsoft Outlook.
    Take a look at Send Email from the Database. I wrote this package based on the DEMO_MAIL package provided by Oracle (via OTN) and stream line things a bit. There is an example of how to use the package in the article.
    Take a look at Send email with HTML body and local file attachements article on Franscois's web site for an example of sending email from an Oracle Form using Java.
    If you need to use Outlook - search the forum. I don't consider this to be a reasonable method so I don't use it or recommend it. I'm sure it works fine for others, I just think being dependent on a application installed on the client is not a solid solution. That's just my opinion. ;-)
    I search through out the net. Didn't get any tutorial video or any working materiel. I disagree with this statement - I did a quick Google search and found many examples (no videos) and demo's.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

  • Sending an Email from within an Oracle Package

    Hi,
    I am trying to send an email from within a Oracle package Body. The code i have to do this is as follows: -
    PROCEDURE send_mail(sender_in IN VARCHAR2,
    recipient_in IN VARCHAR2,
    date_from_in IN VARCHAR2,
    date_to_in IN VARCHAR2) IS
    -- Procedure to send e-mail

    crlf VARCHAR2(2) := CHR(13)||CHR(10);
    --message VARCHAR2(32767);
    message LONG;
    mail_conn utl_smtp.connection;

    utl_smtp.quit(mail_conn);

    RAISE;
    END send_mail;
    end holidays;
    I have one question though. I am getting a ORA-29278 SMTP Transien Error: 421 Service Nota Available Error. I think this may be due to the 'Mailhost' value I have given in the above code. I have been informed that this should be the ip address of the mail server used or the ip address of the machine if it is being run locally. What would i need to put in here if i wish for an email to be sent from one hotmail address to another for example?
    Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Darren

    hi
    The funnier part is that
    u can actually type in the sender's email id irrespective of the mail host used
    Like @hotmail.com,@yahoo.com etc.
    The receiver will get the mails from the email id that u wrote .
    The problem u r facing is becoz of the incorrect mail host server ip address
    Try to get in touch with the network admin for the mail server ip address
    other way is
    get the name it would be like
    smtp.domain name .
    hope that helps

  • Send encrypted data from oracle 11g to Ms SQL Server 12

    Hi every body,
    we want to send encrypted data from oracle 11g to Ms SQL Server 12:
    - data are encrypted to oracle
    - data should be sent encrypted to Ms SQL server
    - data will be decrypted in Ms SQL server by sensitive users.
    How can we do this senario, any one has contact simlare senario?
    can we use asymetric encription to do this senario?
    Please Help!!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
      What you want to do about copying data from Oracle to SQL*Server using insert will work with the 12c gateway.  There was a problem trying to do this using the 11.2 gateway but it should be fixed with the 12c gateway.
    If 'insert' doesn't work then you can use the SQLPLUS 'copy' command, for example -
    SQL> COPY FROM SCOTT/TIGER@ORACLEDB -
    INSERT SCOTT.EMP@MSQL -
    USING SELECT * FROM EMP
    There is further information in this note available on My Oracle Support -
    Copying Data Between an Oracle Database and Non-Oracle Foreign Data Stores or Databases Using Gateways (Doc ID 171790.1)
    However, if the data is encrypted already in the Oracle database then it will be sent in the encrypted format. The gateway cannot decrypt the data before it is sent to SQL*Server.
    There is no specific documentation about the gateways and TDE.  TDE encrypts the data as it is in the Oracle database but I doubt that SQL*Server will be able to de-encrypt the Oracle data if it is passed in encrypted format and as far as I know it is not designed to be used for non-Oracle databases.
    The Gateway encrypts data as it is sent across the network for security but doesn't encrypt the data at source in the same way as TDE does.

    Mike
