Sending Photos and or Vids to other non-iPhone users from iPhone4.

I have sent several pictures to friends from my iPhone4 and very few recieve them. The ones that dont either say they didnt recieve the pic at all or that the file was to large. Is there anything I can do from my phone that can help this?

If you are using iOS4, you are asked during the email what size photo to send. Pick a small one for your non-iphone friends. If you use a different iOS, you'll probably need to reduce the photos with a 3rd party app prior to sending.

  • Send/recieve mms from non iphone users

I have an iphone 4s and I just got it recently. I am unable to send and recieve picture messages to non iphone users. How can I fix that? I have tried resetting the phone, turning on and off mms and imessage, and plugging it into the computer. What else can be done? I'm on verizon wireless and ave the most recent version of IOS

Does your plan support MMS? If you have turned MMS on on the phone (Settings app > Messages > MMS Messaging), but it still doesn't receive them, you should probably look to Verizon for assistance.

  • Iphone 4s wont send pics to non iPhone users

tried everything. contacted Apple. still can't get it to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jannwj, I am sorry you are having issues with not being able to send pictures to non iPhone users from your iPhone 4S! I realize you said everything was tried! However, more specifics would be appreciated. I like to suggest for you to check on something! Is the most reset software version on your iPhone 4S? If you have not checked this, give the update a chance to help resolve the issue. Use this link to the update and following all the steps with backing up your data http://bit.ly/RA0BTg. Also, go into your settings>messages and turn MMS on. If it is already on, try doing a soft reset and retry sending the picture message. I trust this helps!

You use Restore to get the latest firmware build, not the Update button. You can only use the Update button, if there is an iOS update, say iOS 5.1.
this link talks about updating to 9A406 to fix the "No Service" issue with iPhone 4S:

    Hello GoldenStarZ,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I see that you're unable to send picture messages to non-iOS devices.  These messages are called MMS, and in order to troubleshoot the issue please follow the steps in the article below.

The problem is with the new operating system  and sending photo via email when used in my iPad.
From photo I selected 3 photos to send via email. I choose the upload key and choose to send by email. Typing text on the email is very slow. This is solved by saving the email as a draft and opening the email again from mail.
Can you amend he system to allow emails to be sent from photo as previously.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

Answering my own question here. It's fixed! Another user recommended I switch to another wireless network then back to mine. And it worked! Mail is sending again with no problem.

These headings should appear (in order) when you go to Settings > Messages:
    iMessage
    Send Read Receipts
Send as SMS (the one I asked you to turn on in most recently)
    Send & Receive
MMS Messaging (the one I asked you to turn on in the first post)
    Group Mesaging
    Show Subject Field
    Character Count
Hopefully this is what you see.  Otherwise, please post a screen shot.

  • Can't send nor receive photos to/from non-iPhone users

I have Metro PCS and I have unlimited data and ever since I updated to iOS 8, I haven't been able to send picture messages to non-iPhone users. I have tried everything I've found online and nothing works. It was working PERFECTLY before we updated to iOS8! I could send picture messages to anyone without any problem. The rest of my family, who share the same family plan with me, can send pictures just fine (they're all android users). However, my sister and I, who are iPhone 5s users, can't send nor receive picture messages. Every time we try to send a pic to an android user, it immediately says not delivered. It doesn't even try to send it. And it's not a problem with my data because I can watch youtube videos with my 4g just fine. I even turn off the Wi-Fi to test it out and it works well. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

i don't need to, everyone of my contacts has it. Plus every new contact/friend i've made in the last year or two has had it. maybe the apple fanbois here don't like to hear that.
I'm happy that it works for you. It may not be an option for the OP. It certainly wouldn't work for me as I have a fair number of friends with basic phones. Again, Whatsapp is only viable as a replacement for SMS if everyone you want to message is willing to download and use it. If everyone the OP knows is not wiilling to do that, they may need to resolve their existing problem.

  • Can I upload photos and mini vids from iMac to iCloud

I have this collection of photos from my iPhone and iMac and a couple of videos via iMac of my dead mum.
I want all this on the iCloud thing I am suppossed to have . Can I do this  to the 5 gigs they say I have.
    Will this be permanent?
Can I erase my Imac and reinstal the OS due to problems and then get that stuff back on my computer as well.
The photo library and the vids are the only thing i want to keep from an erase disk thingy.
How do I do the uploads to iCloud .
I have an account it shows in my iPhoto thing.
Please help with anything i need to do.

Then let me get this straight, for I'm obviously here because I don't know.

iCloud is not a backup system for your Mac.
Get an external drive and store the photo's there.
    Csound1 wrote:
Then you explain this to me.
    Csound1 On the meridian
If your Mac goes kablooey anything that is currently on iCloud's servers will remain there and can be accessed with an unkablooey'd Mac, PC  or IOS device
Which has me now thinking even though iCloud is not a back up system for my iMac it will
have the photos in my photostream remain there if my iMac was to be erased and i could INDEED access them again , and all would be well in FunBoo Land.
So it's not a back up system but it will save photos and little vids made from my iPhone and uploaded to my iMac and then uploaded to iCloud.
So even though it will not be backed up but as you said these photos will be saved on iCloud  i ask you again .
How do i, with a little i,upload photos and little vids to icloud properly?
There is a share option which is also confusing me.

If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if it frightens you, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
