Sequence Presets missing in PP CS4

On my initial install of PP CS4 I had many more available Sequence Presets than I do now.
I recently had to re-install Windows Vista 64, thus having to re-install PP CS4.
I have DV - 24P
           DV - NTSC
           DV - PAL
           DVCPRO50
           DVCPROHD
           Mobile & Devices
I used to have AVCHD and some others, but they're missing on this installation.  I don't remember choosing any options to have AVCHD show up but it was most definately there.
I just got my Panasonic HMC150 and I have a lot of footage I need to work with, so I need the AVCHD settings available to me.
Any ideas why I'm not seeing the AVCHD option?

1. Deactivate
2. Uninstall everything Adobe
3. Run Clean Script CS4 2 or 3 times. Look here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406241.html
4. Reinstall and activate
5. Update
Why did this happen? Because you have in the past used a trial version or your installation was faulty.

  • FAQ: Why are some codecs and sequence presets missing from my installation of Premiere Pro?

If you're having problems with sequence presets and codecs missing from Premiere Pro, see this document for solutions for this activation issue.
This document relates to the following problems:
missing sequence presets when creating a new sequence
Encore error: "Encore will not launch in non-royalty bearing mode. The application needs to be serialized with a royalty bearing serial number."
When opening a project in Premiere Pro: "Error Adobe Premiere Pro: This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
When importing footage, the footage is missing audio or video.
These failures are all because Premiere Pro and Encore use some codecs that require activation before they can be used. If activation of these codecs has failed, these codecs will not be available to use.

    1. Deactivate
    2. Uninstall everything Adobe

  • Sequence Presets Missing in 5.5

    Hey all,
I am aware of the CS5 trial version limitations for sequence presets listed here, but it also explicity states that in 5.5, these limitations don't exist. I installed the trial version of 5.5, and subsequently upgraded, and I still do not see any AVCHD, MPEG-2, or XDCAM presets listed when I create a new project; only DV and DVCPRO. How do I obtain these presets? Are there configuration files somewhere I can download? Uninstalling and reinstalling, as suggested elsewhere on the forums, didn't work.
    Thanks,
    Hugh

The fix for this isn't just to uninstall and reinstall. The fix is to uninstall, run the cleaner script, reboot, and then reinstall.
Yes, even though the third-party codecs are included in the trial version, they're still installed and managed by a separate component. There is a bug in that component that causes it to fail in some cases, and the fix is to basically go back to zero and try again. Running the cleaner script is part of that process.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 - Missing Sequence Presets?

    Hi -
I recently installed the Production Premium suite on a mac running snow leopard, and ran all the updates. Premiere is at version 4.2.1. When I create a new sequence, these are my preset options:
Am I missing the XDCAM EX and XDCAM HD presets, or am I just not looking in the right place?
Incidentally, when I installed the suite, I ran into a problem where After Effects wouldn't launch. This was solved by uninstalling and reinstalling that particular app. I got an error message right at the end of that re-installation (a generic DONE WITH ERRORS), but everything has been working just fine with that program. Is it possible Premiere was affected by my re-install of AE?
    Thanks for your help.
    Ed

I gave it another try, and I now have both After Effects launching and otherwise behaving as it should, and I have the missing sequence presets back in Premiere. I followed both your instructions to the letter, making sure not to open any other programs during the installation process and rebooting the computer after each step. I even ran CleanScript four times, just to make sure. (It didn't find anything, but perhaps it helped anyway?)
One other thing I did differently was to avoid the Adobe Updater. After installing CS4 this latest time, the first thing I did before adding any of the updates was to check After Effects (it launched) and Premiere (the presets were all there). On my first two installations, I just went straight from installation to having Adobe Updater download and install all the updates. It's possible that things were working fine, and the problems were introduced during the mass installation of all the updates. So this time, starting with After Effects, I downloaded just the 9.0.2 update and installed it, rebooted, and then checked both AE and Premiere - everything was still fine. Then I did the same with the 4.2.1 update for Premiere, rebooted, and checked them both - still fine. I ended up doing each app one at a time, checking along the way to make sure no particular update broke anything else in the suite. It was probably a bit overkill after those first two, but I was so close, I didn't want to screw it up by being careless.
Incidentally, after that second installation didn't work, I submitted a ticket to Adobe Customer Support. They got back to me last night, and their solution was to just download the plugins for the missing presets here:
    www.adobe.com/products/plugins/premiere/
If anyone else is having difficulty, maybe that's another way to go.
    Thanks again for your advice.

  • Sequence presets are missing after "Creative Cloud" activation of CS6

I recently downloaded a trial version of CS6 (I had CS4). While in the trial period PrPro CS6 had a plethora of options to choose from in the "sequence presets" including several XDCAM HD options which I needed as I shoot my video in that format.
Everything worked okay with my imported video. I imported several clips into sequences setup as XDCAM HD 1920x1080/23.97P with no problems. All was good for a couple of days until I bought a "Creative Cloud" account. After activation, many choices in the sequence setup window are mysteriously missing. I download all of the updates in an attempt to fix; that didn't help.
Now I can't import any of my XDCAM HD videos or open any of the several projects I created while running the trial of CS6.
The picture below shows the sequence presets that I have available now.  Help.

  • Some sequence presets now missing.  Help?

I recently had to reinstall Premiere CS4, afterwhich I updated the software to 4.2.1.  When I go to make a new sequence, the presets for HDV and the two XDCAM presets are missing.  The folders for these sequence presets are still on my hard drive in the"SequencePresets" folder, but Premiere is not seeing them.  Is there some sort of "scan for new presets" function?  What can I do to get Premiere to see all the sequence presets?
    J. D.

It sounds like your full-paid version has reverted to the trial. Do you have ANY MPEG capabilities? This has happened to several users, and so far, no one has been able to tell why.
If this has happened, you will want to undertake these steps and in this order:
1.) De-Activate your PrPro - probably will be grayed out, but check.
    2.) Uninstall PrPro
3.) Run Adobe Clean Script (now up to CS5) several times, rebooting between each. Probably a good idea to run a Registry cleaner, like CCleaner.
    4.) Reinstall PrPro
5.) Update to CS4.2, before doing ANY editing
    Good luck,

  • Premiere CC presets missing and Can't Open Sequence error

I'm having a couple problems with Premiere.
I was working on a project that's been just fine for a while, but now when I try to open it, Premiere gives the error:
"This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
Also, in any project when I'm creating a new sequence, there are no useful presets. I found the sequence presets folder, and they're all in there, but they don't show up from within Premiere.
Also, when I import AVCHD .MTS files, I get video but no audio, even though they play ok in VLC
Solutions I have tried but which do not solve anything:
    1. Sign out, restart Premiere, sign back in
    2. Recreate the Adobe Premiere Pro preferences and plug-in cache. (using shift/option combo)
    3. uninstall premiere, reboot, run cleaner script, reboot, reinstall premiere
    4. uninstall premiere, reboot, run cleaner script, reboot, create new user account, install premiere in that user account instead of original account
I am aware of this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/features-presets-missing-premiere-pro.html
    and this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
Some pages I've come across have suggested running the cleaner script multiple times, but you can really only run it once, because after the first cleaning, when you run it again nothing shows up on the list to be cleaned.  Are there still remnants of Adobe stuff left on my machine uncleaned by the cleaner script that I need to delete manually?
Has anyone else had this problem but not had any of the adobe-suggested solutions work for them and eventually fixed this?
This is Adobe Premiere CC 2014.  I'm running it on a Mac Book Pro that's less than a year old, running OSX 10.9.5 w/ 16GB of memory.
This is INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING.  I've spent most of the day troubleshooting this issue and all I want to do is edit my video. A cursory search of the internet shows that I am far from alone in having this problem. Also, reinstalling is not trivial because the download speeds where I am are slow.
    dave

Well, it took a long time, but I eventually got it working properly.  All of the presets and codecs show up, I can import AVCHD files properly with audio, and the project I couldn't open before now opens fine, so it turned out not to be a corrupt project. It looks like the problem was that the cleaner script didn't actually clean everything it should have, and I had to do it all manually.
I uninstalled all of the Adobe Creative Cloud software, rebooted, ran the CC Cleanup script, and rebooted again.
Then I uninstalled Flash and ALL other Adobe software I had on my machine.
Then I used the Find Any File app to find every reference on my Mac to any file with "adobe" in the name--including system files--and deleted them and emptied the trash.
The only Adobe things I left on my machine were the Adobe RGB color profile and any Adobe fonts I had.
Empty the trash again, reboot again.
Then I used the CC installer to install Premiere and only Premiere (I didn't even install Adobe Media Encoder) because I didn't want to go through all that download time only to have it fail on me again.
And at long last it worked. Then I went back and installed Media Encoder, which didn't seem to break anything, so I went back and installed the other CC software I wanted on my machine, and things are working at last.
The "cleaner" script leaves a LOT of Creative Cloud-related files on your machine, which, in my opinion, means it's not a very effective "cleaner."  It seems to want to leave a lot of preference files and other files whose purpose I don't know (but I deleted them anyway).  There should at least be a checkbox somewhere on the cleaner that says "wipe absolutely everything related to Adobe off of my machine".
Thanks again for your suggestions, Neil.

  • Missing Some Sequences Presets!!

    Hi all,
I went to start a new sequence as per normal on start up when l noticed the list was shorter than usual (you know how you get used to how things should look and where you position the mouse to choose your usual preset) well my AVCHD, HDV, XD CAM HD & XD CAM EX are no longer in the list to choose from. l went to the directory and found the folder "Sequence Settings" and there they all are as should be including the ones that are not showing up on start up, l then went and deleted the PP Roaming file hoping that that had become mucked up in some way but that did not work either. I'm now at a loss as to what to do when the sequence presets are there but PP won't display them on start up.
    PP version is 4.2.1 (003(M.C:166418)
    Hope you can help please.
    Simon Allan

    Simon,
If you have CS4, one likely cause for this is a Bug, where the full-paid version reverts to the trial version. No one has ever come forth with a "why," but here is the "fix," should you encounter this in the future - hopefully the Repair Install HAS fixed things for you, but keep this handy, just in case.
Deactivate the program. This will likely be grayed out, since the trial is not Activated.
    Uninstall PrPro.
Run the Adobe Clean Script (now up to CS5) several times, rebooting between.
As a precaution, maybe run a Registry cleaner, like CCleaner
Install PrPro completely, and immediately update fully, before using
Hope that you do not have this issue again and good luck,
    Hunt

  • New document about sequence presets and codecs missing from Premiere Pro

If you're having problems with sequence presets and codecs missing from Premiere Pro, see this document for solutions for this activation issue.
This document relates to the following problems:
    - missing sequence presets when creating a new sequence
    - Encore error: "Encore will not launch in non-royalty bearing mode. The application needs to be serialized with a royalty bearing serial number."
    - When opening a project in Premiere Pro: "Error Adobe Premiere Pro: This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
    - When importing footage, the footage is missing audio or video.
These failures are all because Premiere Pro and Encore use some codecs that require activation before they can be used. If activation of these codecs has failed, these codecs will not be available to use.

    Well done.

  • Missing Sequence Presets in Premiere Pro CC

I've recently installed Premiere Pro CC and there are loads of presets missing on the new sequences dialogue box.

  • Missing Sequence Presets in PremierePro CS6

I'm trialling Premiere CS6 and there are loads of presets missing on the sequences! XDCAM, Red, AVCHD, Canon.... all missing! Any suggestions appreciated. I have CS5 and that's all fine!

    Hi,
I know it's been a while but I have a found a solution that worked for me.
I also work for a company that doesn't allow direct connection to the internet but has an internal network and proxy.
When I installed Adobe Creative Suite and successfully activated it via offline method (or so I thought), I would only see six basic presets for premiere pro, and was missing full hd projects etc.
It seems that Adobe doesn't like network domains and was picking up web packets even behind the proxy; and refused to activate properly (the clue was Adobe Encore refusing to start).
What I did was open Adobe Reader (pure coincidence), click Help > Deactivate because the option was greyed out in Premiere, then completely shut off my network card* and clicked help > activate in Premiere. Restarted Premiere and everything worked fine...
    Hope that helps.
    * on Windows 7 :  Network and Sharing Centre > Change Adapter Settings > Right click > Deactivate

  • I filmed with Sony HDR-XR500V using HD HQ - which sequence preset is best?

I filmed on a Sony HDR-XR500V camera using the HD HQ camera setting. According to the manual, this means it's: AVCHD 9Mbps (1440x1080x60i).
I'm editing in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.
Which sequence preset should I use?
    AVCHD 1080i30 (60i) Anamorphic
    or: AVCHD 1080i30 (60i)
I'm a bit confused, because AVCHD 1080i30 (60i) Anamorphic says "for editing AVCHD Formats recorded in anamorphic 1920x1080 (ex.1440x1080)."
What does "anamorphic 1920x1080 (ex.1440x1080)" mean? What does "ex." stand for? For example? Except?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
Your manual tells you you have shot your film in 1440x1080 which means it has rectangular pixels which in other words it is anamorphic.
If you made these rectangular pixels into square pixels you get 1920x1080.
Full HD is 1920x1080 with square pixels. It all has to do with aspect ratio. It can be a bit confusing.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PremierePro/4.0/WS03BF7479-8C7B-4522-8C75-210AD102524Ea.html
If you were to do it correctly your preset should be AVCHD 1080i30 (60i) Anamorphic.
    Hope this all makes sense.
