Serialization Exception for : CachedRowSet

Hi ..
I have populated my CachedRowSet with as follows
// lRst is a SCROLLABLE ResultSet
javax.sql.rowset.CachedRowSet lCachedRowSet = new com.sun.rowset.CachedRowSetImpl();
lCachedRowSet.setPageSize(mPageSize);
lCachedRowSet.populate(lRst,10);While i try to serialize CachedRowSet , I get a Serialization Exception.
for 'weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.ResultSet_oracle_jdbc_driver_ScrollableResultSet'
However if i try to populate the same as follows It works fine:
javax.sql.rowset.CachedRowSet lCachedRowSet = new com.sun.rowset.CachedRowSetImpl();
lCachedRowSet.setPageSize(mPageSize);
lCachedRowSet.populate(lRst);I am using Oracle 8i and Weblogic 8.1.
I have to take the first approach. Please let me know if there is any solution for the first approach.

    I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
    I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
    The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
    I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
    I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
    By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
    Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
    Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
    Thanks!

    After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
    The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
    I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • Exception in Glassfish 3.1.2.2 Communication exception for SerialContext[myEnv=

    My application contains an implementation of the "Service Locator" pattern. The ServiceLocator is a central component which performs (JNDI) lookups for Remote EJBs and is used by several of our applications/components (r6-core, Java-API, etc.). The ServiceLocator has several configuration options and its main goal is to enable flexible (machine independent/application independent) deployments scenarios. Another goal is to shield JNDI/EJB lookup boilerplate from business logic (code).
    If a specific EJB is configured to be called only via local calls, the ServiceLocator implementation first instantiates an empty InitialContext and performs a JNDI lookup:
    InitialContext ic = new InitialContext(); ic.lookup(jndiName);
    The currently unexpected behavior is that we get the following exception upon executing this code:
    lookup for jndi-name 'java:global/.../ar-common-impl/ArPropertiesDaoBean' failed: 'Communication exception for SerialContext[myEnv= {java.naming.factory.initial=com.sun.enterprise.naming.impl.SerialInitContextFactory, java.naming.corba.orb=com.sun.corba.ee.impl.orb.ORBImpl@4f92338d, java.naming.factory.state=com.sun.corba.ee.impl.presentation.rmi.JNDIStateFactoryImpl, java.naming.factory.url.pkgs=com.sun.enterprise.naming, com.sun.appserv.ee.iiop.endpointslist=corbaloc:iiop:1.2@sprprd01:23700}
    This exception shows that a remote call is tried! Due to the fact that these (local only) EJBs are not configured to be remote beans (and thus not serializable) an exception is thrown.
    The question is: Where does the endpointslist come from, even though we have not provided any of these parameters?

    I don't know where this setting is specified but if I were you I'd be looking into the glassfish documentation and posting in a glassfish forum rather than posting in a webservices forum.

  • Can't serialize access for this transaction error.

    Hi,
              I am getting a transaction rolled back due to a beforeCompletion exception:
              java.sql.SQLException: ORA-08177: can't serialize access for this
              transaction
              I am using Weblogic 5.10, SP5 & Oracle 8.
              Basically what I have is:
              - A java app that will get an EntityBean, named Schedule.
              - The java app will then create a SessionBean, named Watchdog.
              - The java app will then call a method on the Watchdog, passing in the
              Schedule: watchdog.check(Schedule sched)
              - The watchdog.check() method will do some processing and based on the
              outcome may or may not update the Schedule: sched.setLast(<some number>)
              - The check() method is then done & return to the java app.
              I see log messages (on the weblogic server) saying the check() method is
              done. Then I see messages, presumably from the container for:
              - isModified ------> true
              - ejbStore()
              And then I see the exception messages.
              The strange thing is that most of the time this processing works just fine.
              Only occasionally do these exceptions get thrown.
              The schedule EntityBean is set up as <transaction-isolation> for
              TRANSACTION_SERIALIZABLE.
              There is no other bean trying to update the Schedule at the same time.
              Does anybody have any ideas?
              Thanks in advance,

  • SQLException: ORA-08177: can't serialize access for this transaction

    Hiya, If anyone has any suggestions on the following, i would be grateful...
    The exception is thrown by the flushing of the OutputStream in the following few lines:
    java.io.OutputStream os = ((weblogic.jdbc20.common.OracleClob) myClob).getAsciiOutputStream(); os.flush();
    The exception given is: java.io.IOException: Error while doing writeLobByteValue: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-08177: can't serialize access for this transaction at weblogic.db.oci.OciOutputStream.flush(OciOutputStream.java:152)
    ... plus a whole pile of internal stuff
    This method is called from the ejbStore() method of an EJB, and it only fails the first time that ejbStore() is called, and then after that runs smoothly.
    Any suggestions appreciated, Cheers, Karen.

    Thanks, took a look at that previously - still having the problem though temp solution seems to be to delete extra records from the table in question but this isn't the best solution by all means.
    Thanks again

I hit cancel and move on.   But, now Icloud keeps popping up promting me to sign in and it shows the old email which I don't have anymore.... I tried signing in with the old info to clear it off screen of my phone but, it doesn't allow and I hit cancel and it goes away. only to appear later again....  This is so frustrating and annoying.    Is there any way to get the Icloud to update the email address with my Apple ID log in info--without having to delete stuff or lose things on my phone?

    I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

  • I've just hooked my 20" iMac up to my Toshiba 37" HDTV using a mini dvi-HDMI adapter, and works well, EXCEPT for the green tinge (or hue) that is showing up on my TV. Any suggestions or ideas?

    I've just hooked my 20" iMac display up to my Toshiba 37" HDTV using a mini dvi-HDMI adapter, and everything works well, EXCEPT for the green tinge (or hue) that is showing up. Everything else looks pretty good though..... The color that is on my iMac is still good, Its just green on the TV.
    Anyone have suggestions or ideas?

    Try opening the Display System Preferences, then click on the Color options in the Display preferences window that appeared on the Toshiba display. Click on the Calibrate button and follow the instructions for creating a custom ColorSync profile that will hopefully solve the green tinge issue. The Apple Display Calibrator Assistant software that launches when you click on the calibrate button will walk you through the process.Assuming that the green tinge is minor and that you don't have a more serious cable or hardware issue, I am hopeful the results will be worth it.

  • PL/SQL Exception for ORA-00942 - Table or view not found?

    Hey there!
    I want to create an exception my code runs into whenever it tries to select from a table that is not existent (or because of insufficient privileges).
    How can I get these ORA-00942 errors and place them into a exception? Except for WHEN OTHERS, that's not concrete enough.
    Regards,
    Thomas

    SQL> DECLARE

    You can't use the same certificate more than once.
