Is there an IDS signature release for the 4.1 platform for this vulnerability ?
The bulletin only mentions the 5.x platform.

IDS version 4.x doesn't have the capabilities required to detect these vulnerabilities with an acceptable level of fidelity, so we have no plans to release a signature to cover MS06-040 in an official 4.x signature update. This custom sig will work in 4.x but it is much more prone to false positive;the 5.x version uses the meta engine which is not available in 4.x.

Varchar2 "Width" during code execution

Is it possible to in some way determine the defined "width" of a char variable (esp. varchar2) during code execution?
For example, given:

Is there any reasonably straightforward manner to create that "sizeof" function which can return the max width of strng to the function? I'd like to make sure, without writing exception logic, that I don't overflow the boundary of the strng variable. This is fairly easy to do in c but I don't see anything readily analogous in Oracle. Assume that strng is not tied to a table column, in particular, although that, too (i.e., created using %TYPE in the definition) would probably be useful to be determinable as well.
Any suggestions as to how one might accomplish this without some absurd "fill until the exception occurs" loop would be appreciated.

There is a function called VSIZE in Oracle 9i, but it returns the memory length of the ACTUAL string, not the theoretical maximum. The only way I see for you is to select the string length from the data dictionary, look at ALL_TAB_COLUMNS. Or write a loop with an exception section, trying to add one character after another until the exception is raised. This is correct, VSIZE does not do what I'm after. The specific link above deals more with the special case of %TYPE. I'm more interested in the general case of a defined variable -- Where in the Data Dictionary would I look for information about a variable? (I don't necessarily need instructions, but a pointer to something to read that should cover what I'm after would be helpful-- even a book reference would be of use, since it's hard to tell what books cover what topics well -- I don't mind becoming more knowledgeable about the DD, that seems like widely useful info anyway).

I checked on SAP note 1563660 - sapcontrol, <sid>adm authorization issues (SUM) and confirmed, that ALL installations of the "sapuxuserchk" program are set with "chown root.sapsys" and "chmod u+s,o-rwx". I restarted the diagnostic Agent aftwards.
I also checked on host_profile an made sure, that the parameter "service/admin_users = daaadm" is set.
Still I get the above error messages, so I am at a loss what else to do...

Please check the user used for registration of Diagnostic agent to Solution Manager has appropriate roles assigned (e.g. user SMD_ADMIN)
Also please update to latest patch of SAP Host agent and then try again.

1. BizTalk Server 2013 R2
2. SharePoint 2013
both in a Windows 2012 Server environment, in Azure.   The BizTalk and SharePoint are running on separate machines.
I am using the Windows SharePoint Adapter to upload a Tif file to a SharePoint document library. However, when the host instance is running under my team member's userid, I get the following error in the eventlog:

I have also made sure the userid has full control access to the SharePoint site and the document library within the site.   I have confirmed that the user with this userid is able to access the SharePoint site and can upload documents to the
document library, manually.   However, when the host instance is running under this userid, I am not able to upload documents to the SharePoint document library.

SQL Server Service is stoping with an Error Code : 1814

Hi,
I have an SCCM Server in My organization. Where we have installed Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 for the database of SCCM Application.
Now I am not able to Start the SCCM console due to some dependent Services are not starting. 3 services has to be started for the perfect working of SCCM.
1)SQL Server
2) SQL Server Agent
3) SQL Server Reporting Services
Out of three the first two services are not starting at all. I am getting an error while trying to start SQL Server Services.
" Windows Could not start the SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) on Local Computer. For more information, review the system event Log, If this is a non-Microsoft Service, contact the service vender , and refer to service-specific error code

Please help me to start the services and resolve the SCCM Server issue.

I am Getting
"SMTP Error Code : <530>. For more information, see your SMTP server manual" error, While configuring SMTP in Data Services 4.0 system. I have tried executing the SMTP_TO function on another DS machine which has 3.2 verion installed, but getting the same error.
FYI,
1) Able to telnet the Exchange server through Data service machine
2) Maintained SMTP settings in Data services server manager
3) using the same SMTP server host name in other SAP systems (ECC,BI,PI) etc and able to send mails.

Getting another problem wherein I am not able to send mails to multiple recipients i.e. If I specify 5 recipients in SMTP_TO function and execute the job then Every individual is getting E-Mail having there own ID in TO field, other Id's are not gettting displayed in TO field.
I hve checked note "1276348 - smtp_to function - multiple recipients not displayed"
Settings mentioned in the note have been done and job is getting executed without any error but the mails are not getting delivered.
It would be great if anyone can suggest on how to proceed here.

If I do not use the credential info (user ID and password) I get some credential exceptions. Is there a way that I can avoid providing the credential information? The reason for this is I do not want to hardcode the user ID and password information as the password can change. Is there any other way to solve this issue?

You can turn security off from your process.
Go under adminui under Services/Application and Services/Service Management.
Search for your process and under the security tab you can disable the security or use the 'Run As' feature to run under a specific user context.

Though Bill is absolutely correct for most CALs, Remote Desktop Services does have its own special licensing server. I haven't installed one on 2012, yet, but here is a step-by-step guide for 2008.

No service user name found for Integration Server

Hi All,
Our XI is in production..once in a while (once in every 3 weeks) messages get fail saying: No service user name found for Integration Server. When we re-start J2EE engine, messages get processed fine. Does anyone know the reason for the above error?

did you configure your adapters like IDoc, RFC based on the SAP service user created in the SAP system ? i,e RFC destination etc..
did you check pipeline url is correct in the SLD>Business System><Integration Server> and check the url. It should have http port.

WCF service application hosted in IIS for reading Windows server service bus topic/subscription

We have a WCF service application(not web application) which is deployed in IIS 8 pointing to the windows server service bus topic/subscription. We have configured the WCF service with applicationInitialization feature of IIS 8 to warm up.
But the WCF service is not reading any message from the topic/subscription.
configured in web.config file as below

When we run the same from visual studio its reading messages from topic/subscription.
any configuration/settings which we are missing?

You probably didn't initialize correctly the auto-start. Btw. I would recommend you to use AppFabric for this feature. It is more transparent in development and production.

We have an application which uses JSPs as front end and we are using Struts 1.1. When we run one of the JSP it shows the following error after executing .We are using OCJ4 server having version 9.0.4.0

The JSP/application runs okay on one machine (System Tesing machine)with OCJ4 server having version10.1.2.0 but throughs an error on other machine( Development machine)with OCJ4 server having version9.0.4.0.The question is why it is running on one machine ane giving error on other machine I am aware that there can't be more than 64kB of code between try-catch block .Total size of the generated JSP class in our case is 577KB.
Is the problem because of different version of Application server OC4J?.Is it any fix for this? Or Can anyone please suggest a work around. Or is there a method by which the JSP generated code is split between different try - catch blocks rather than a single try-catch block.Utlimately We don't know the whether is it a problem with JVM or hardware .
It would be really helpful if you would provide me with some suggestion and input.

I am aware of the limitations of JVM that it won't allow java code more than 64Kb in method but we are using different versions of Application server .Application is working okay with OC4J application server(10.1.2.0) but gives error on Application server with version 9.0.4.0. Is this a problem with OC4J application server 9.0.4.0. I had gone through the documentation ofOC4J 9.0.4.0.application server but it does not mention about the this bug/fixes.
Please giude me on the same.

Limit for license key Process Server Service. JCL_ FTP is exceded

We are getting strange error in Redwood. Now we are not able to start process servers. Process servers were running fine and we were able to run jobs. For some activities in UNIX server we stopped the unix process server and now we are getting strange error while starting process server
9:52:51 PM: JCS-102204: Limit for license key Process Server Service. JCL_ FTP is exceeded; limit is 0, changes require 1.
And we are not able create any new process servers also with job definition type System or Job Chain. While creating we are getting same error.
We have license ProcessServerService.JCL_FTP with the value true.
To create new process server we don't need any JCL_FTP license. Don't know why we are getting strange error.Please help me on this.

Execution Time for T.Code

Hi Experts,
I want to know the exact execution time for a t.code. I check it in ST03 or ST03n but I can't get proper data. In ST03 I get the average and total response time but I want the exact ececution or response time.

For old verions
In ST03 transaction
click on "Performance Database" tab
Then double click on Total
It will open Dialogue box CHOOSE TIME PERIOD ,select the time period and then click on the required date
Then Click on Transaction Profile ,here it will give the list of transaction executed and its execution time
In STO3N , you will find "TRANSACTION PROFILE" under Analysis views, when you double click on it will give present days Transaction codes executed.
If you want the month data then go to Export mode in ST03n ,you will get the data "TRANSACTION PROFILE" under Analysis views .

Hi Folks,
I am an experienced .NET apps developer who has been tasked with writing a bunch of technical controls for all the SQL Server instances on a domain.
So for the last month I have been diving in the deep end learning Powershell, dba and infrastructure tasks. This is still a work in progress, so be kind to me.. ;o)
So the task I am stuck on is described in the section on 'Reviewing Windows NT Rights and Privileges Granted for SQL Server Service Accounts' http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143504(v=sql.105).aspx
I have not been able to find cmdlets that gives me this information. I have found some exes which come frustratingly close like NTRights.exe. This lets me specify a computer name which is great, but only seems to let you set or deny permissions, not just
list them!
Any help with this would be very much appreciated as I am firmly stuck. As per comments above also bear in mind that up until around 1.5 months ago I had never used powershell / knew very much at all about SQL server admin etc. Feeling much more comfortable
with them now, but much less so with Active Directory/ windows permission structures etc so please can I ask anyone kind enough to reply to try and keep the acronyms down as much as humanly possible.. ;o)
