i am using application server and forms 10g rel 2
when i make a form runs a report in the development machine every thing is ok when i try to run it on the server i got a login screen
which have this string

but the url i typed in WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT is

Change #SINGLESIGNON=YES to SINGLESIGNON=NO
Log in to the Enterprise Manager website at http://<server_name>:18100
Navigate to the Report server page. Click on the "Edit Configuration File" link.
Delete the section that reads

Can't access SQL Server from a library [SMO Server throws exception]

I have code that creates a SMO server object and then creates a set of tables in the target database. It works fine, if the code is in the main executable. If the code's in a library, it invariably throws an exception. The code's bog simple,

I can open the connection, so I know that there's nothing wonky there. (There's also the fact that it works if compiled into the exe.)

I'm developing using Visual Studio 2008, on Windows XP. The database that I'm trying to connect to is SQL Server 2005, and I'm pretty sure that it's current on its patches. I haven't been able to find any help on the "connection type is not valid" error, or why it doesn't work in a library. Any pointers would be appreciated.

I received the same error message when using the following code:

The "Connection type is not valid" exception would be thrown when trying to execute the last line of code above. In my case, the problem turned out to be with the references I had added to my project. I was using the following references in my project:
Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo
Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo
Microsoft.SqlServer.SmoEnum
Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlEnum
On closer inspection I found that I had inadvertently added version 10.0.0.0 of Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo instead of version 9.0.242.0. The references for Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo, Microsoft.SqlServer.SmoEnum and Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlEnum were all using version 9.0.242.0. After removing version 10.0.0.0 of Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo and replacing it with a reference to version 9.0.242.0 everything worked fine.
For other people also experiencing this issue I would recommend checking the properties of the Microsoft.SqlServer.* references in your project to make sure they all have matching version numbers.

Delete & recreated SOA managed server - throws exception

Hi,
I have a weblogic admin server and soa,osb managed servers running in other machines.
From weblogic console, I deleted the SOA managed server and created it again. I have lot of deployments and in targets, I added the newly created soa server for only one deployment 'usermessagingserver'.
When starting the soa server, I get

Is there a way I can add the newly created soa server in targets for all the deployments with ease?
What is the resolution for this exception?
Is there a procedure to follow when deleting and creating managed server from console?
When i add soa server in target0s for soa-infra, b2b ..... it is also failing with the same exception.

You have to make sure that the libraries,which are references by your application,
are also targeted to the server.
In the weblogic-application.xml file of your appllication these libraries are referenced due to
for example the following entry:
<library-ref>
<library-name>oracle.sdp.messaging</library-name>
<exact-match>false</exact-match>
</library-ref>You can target the libraries by clicking on the library deployment in question, click on
the targets tab and choose the servers to which you want to target the library.

System hang after when try to run report from a form

Hi all,
I was able to run the report by using the run_report command from form builder to call a report with any problem. However, when I attached in my application, the form is being call out but when try to click on the print button from the form, the screen is stuck or hung without showing anything.
Below is part of the code that will call the report to print within the form.

Reports server in iAS 10g ignores some xml settings when running report

Hi, has anyone else noticed that when you run a report on the reports server from iAs10g it seems to ignore certain settings you specified? I am talking about:
- tag names when they are (case insensitively) equal to the result column name from the query (I changed the tag names from uppercase to lowercase and this is ignored, apparently they are compared case insensitively)
- the setting "Outer XML Tag" for a group is default set to Yes and ignored when set to No. (this means that for the repeating groups you always have an opening and a closing tag around them called LIST_GROUPNAME)
These settings are working fine in the builder itself but apparently ignored in the reportsserver.
Or am I the only one that has his problem?

Hi Amy,
Is this a web or windows app? check the Event logs, it may show you what is hanging or add logging to your app to see what CR can't get to or what it is waiting for.
Turn on SQL Profiler to see if the query is even getting to the Server.

Oracle JSP Exception code too large for try block

My jsp is exceeding the memory limit (64KB for Oracle 10g App server i think its the JVM limit),
so it is throwing exception ,code too large for try block,how to over come this,I cant minimize the use of logic tags because it is business requirement.please help me out.

I think you need to give a value to the attribute buffer in the <%@ page%> directive to solve the problem.
There will not be any need of going for pagination then.
buffer="none | 8kb | sizekb"The buffer size in kilobytes used by the out object to handle output sent from the compiled JSP page to the client Web browser. The default value is 8kb. If you specify a buffer size, the output is buffered with at least the size you specified.

Error when running reports: "File Server needs to be re-initialized"

Hi.
This error "File Server needs to be re-initialized" appears when our users try to run reports on 11.5.10. EBS.
There is also a message box that appears and reads:
"A error occurred while attempting to establish a conection to Application File Server. There may be a network configuration problem, or the TNS listener may not be running."
This is a problem in our test environment. We recently ran autoconfig on the test side.
I have checked Metalink and also wider google search.
Perhaps we have an issue with the tnsnames files? Well, I verified this and the tnsnames in production and test, and they are the same.
Perhaps a listener.ora file issue?
"The issue is caused by the variables APPLFSTT and APPLFSWD is not being set properly in the <8.0.6_ORACLE_HOME> listener.ora file. " (Note 263654.1)

Reports Server/running reports on the web.

I am trying to configure my web server to run reports on the web. I have followed the instructions provided by Oracle, but some is not clear. When i try to run report on the browser, i get the following error:
CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:
Oracle documentaion say the following about the steps to configure the web server:
1-Start your Web server by entering the following:
2-Start your browser.
3-Create a listener.
4-Configure your Web server mapping and note the physical and virtual directories. For example:
I have done all the steps above except creating a listener. The documentation doesnt explain that step at all.
I have created a cgi-bin directory and made it excetable and copied the rwcgi60.exe from reports server machine to the web server machine. I also copied the TNSNAMES entry for the web server from the reports server machine to the web server machine.
Here is the command i use(just trying to make sure that web CGI is responding, but it doesnt work)
http://web_server/scm/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe
Other question: On the server machine, i have 3 oracle directories: ORA81, ISUITES, 806, which one should be the home directory for the reports to work on the web??
I am using oracle 8.1.7 with 9iAS release 1.

The address in that error is somewhat peculiar, in that it points to a process running on your computer (127.0.0.1 is a loopback address that points to your own system).
I suggest that after downloading and saving the Flash installer to a folder, you completely exit Firefox, and do the installation with Firefox closed in case having Firefox open is interfering in some manner.
Of course, make sure you get the official installer from Adobe, and '''uncheck the box for any tag-along software that you do not want''':

Running Reports 10g on Apps Server

We have a Windows 2003 apps server running Oracle Forms and Reports 10g.
We are having a problem running reports in Oracle 10g, and believe it to be something to do with the configuration files. Currently, we can run the test report through Enterprise Manager using both the default reports service and the one that we have created. However we are unable to run our own reports through forms.
To check that there was nothing wrong with our forms, we copied one of the reports into the â¦\forms10g\reports\samples\demo folder to see if we could run it through Enterprise Manager. However, we get the following error:
Rep-110: Unable to open file â¦â¦
Rep-1070: Error while opening or saving a document.
Rep-0110: Unable to open file â¦...
We then renamed the test.rdf file and tried to run that. Again we got the above message. Next we tried again to run test.rdf, even though this no longer existed, and the report ran. This implied that it isn't actually running the report, but has the report output stored somewhere, and it just displays this.
No matter how we try to run reports, and with which reports service, we always get the above error.
So why is it that no reports will run, not even the test one when it is renamed? Is there a configuration setting somewhere?

We have running Oracle Forms and Reports Services 10g on Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
The Application Works fine, and reports are generated successfully.
But when we access the same application by using either Linux OS (RHEL 4.0, Ubuntu 6),
The forms works fine but Linux OS could not run the report.
This seems to be a configuration problem.
Any Clues.

Getting an error when i try to define Report Sever

We have installed Oracle Application Server 10gR2 (10.1.2), when i try to define report sever with the below command,
rwserver server=rep_fsprod
but i am getting the error as
The procedure entry point kge_reuse_guard_fr could not be located in the dynamic link library orageneric10.dll
OracleAS Report Services Version is 10.1.2.0.2
Please help me in resolving the above error.

Obiee server SQL throw exception :ORA-29275

The obiee server throws oracle exception: ORA-29275 while execute in the sql in the bidw , the sql results have Chinese characters
I have try to copy the sql to query from Jdeveloper adn SQL developer , the sql can run and no exception so does it the NSL_LANG issue in the obiee server side ?
I also have try to set the NSL_LANG as AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8 and AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8 , and they seems not worked!

Can't throw exception inside try block!

I'm having a problem trying to throw an error inside a try block.
To illustrate:

If I run this the only output is "ret is 0" - I do not catch the thrown exception! What am I doing wrong?

I need to correct myself: I've re-read the spec, and actually the behaviour is conformant with the JLS: JLS says that the return statement completes abruptly, and an abrupt return in a finally block that didn't have a (applicable or any) catch block will result in the original exception being 'forgotten'.
