Server with 2 nodes
hi im thinking about making a system
what i want it to do is this:
have a grid of buttons when a certain button is clicked it will save the setting and go to another menue and give you more options that you can choose from after you are done selecting all the things you need you will be able to hit a button to place an order
now all the options you chose will be saved formatted in a certain way
now what i will need is for those options to be automatically displayed on another computer in another room but the other computer will have the right to only read and than delete the list of chosen variables i would also like the reading computer to have tabs so that if i place one order and than immediatly another a second tab will pop up and let you click on it to read i
Hi,
The Overrides pane display the record that you already override.
You can create groups in the Authoring workspace in the Operations console.
Select the specify rule on the rule pane, click Overrides on the Operations console toolbar. You can choose to override this rule for objects of a specific type or for all objects within a group. After you choose which group of object type to override,
the Override Properties dialog box opens, enabling you to view the default settings contained in this rule. You can then choose whether to override each individual setting contained in the monitor.

Oracle HTTP Server and Node Manager
Hi,
I installed Oracle HTTP Server with Node Manager. I set "CrashRecoveryEnabled=true" in the nodemanager.properties. It works fine when I reboot the machine, but when I kill the root process (kill -9), the new process can not be started as the previous process does not have enough time to die and still uses the ports. I tried to run "nmGenBootStartupProps" in wlst, or set the
RestartMax=2
RestartDelaySeconds=5
variables in "[domain_name]/servers/[server_name]/data/nodemanager/startup.properties" - no success.
Any ideas, how to set the number of retries and the delay between restarts?

For server the Node Manager associated with machine is not reachable
Hello all,
I am getting this error, when i start my Managed Server which is in shutdown state
For server SAA-Dev-1, the Node Manager associated with machine vm-bea-dev is not reachable.
All of the servers selected are currently in a state which is incompatible with this operation or are not associated with a running Node Manager. No action will be performed.
The configuration details are
i am using weblogic 9.2 MP3 version in windows 2k3 server.
It has a machine vm-bea-dev, a cluster cluster-saa-dev, to which both the managed servers saa-dev-1 and saa-dev-2 are assigned. There are 3 applications deployed onto managed Server 1 and 1 for managed Server 2.
Managed Server 1 is in shutdown state, and when i start the server, it gives the error specified below
For server SAA-Dev-1, the Node Manager associated with machine vm-bea-dev is not reachable.
All of the servers selected are currently in a state which is incompatible with this operation or are not associated with a running Node Manager. No action will be performed.
The same for Managed Server 2 too, and this server is in Admin State, i dont know how it went into that state.
Can somebody please help me reslove it.
Thanks in advanceActually the cert is coming from your Dev machine but it is sending the Prod cert.
What cert is used by your admin server ? It should match the host name.
So your Dev machine is apparently using a copy of the prod cert / keystore rather than using its own DEV cert. It's not clear from your post whether this is the nodemanager using the wrong cert, or the managed server. So both should be checked.
The managed servers need to be using a cert that matches their host name. If you have a managed server on VM-BEA-DEV, then the cert needs to be CN=VM-BEA-DEV. You can also use a load-balancer CN name in the cert if you have the cluster's HTTP values set to match.
In your nodemanager.properties, are you explicitly accessing keystores, such as with:
KeyStores=CustomIdentityAndJavaStandardTrust
CustomIdentityAlias=some_alias
CustomIdentityKeyStoreFileName=some_path_to_keystore
CustomIdentityKeyStorePassPhrase={3DES}...
CustomIdentityKeyStoreType=jks
CustomIdentityPrivateKeyPassPhrase={3DES}
In my multi-machine clusters, I have multiple certificates such as:
admin machine1:
has a cert for use by the admin server and NM that matches the host name ( with node manager.properties entries such as the above )
has a 2nd cert that matches the load-balancer name for the cluster - used by the managed servers
all other machines:
has a cert for use by NM that matches the host name ( with node manager.properties entries such as the above )
has a 2nd cert that matches the load-balancer name for the cluster - used by the managed servers -
[wls8.1 sp.3] cannot remote start with node manager on another server

I would REALLY appreciate any suggestions as to what might be the cause or what i could try.
Thanks ....Hi,
It is up to you to decide whether you want to use nodemanager or not.
It does not make any difference if the server is started via script or nodemanager.
if i want everything (AS, MS, and NM) to come up at server boot i need to set each of them up as windows services (which is what i have at the moment) but this wont allow me to use the node manager ==> Yes this statement is correct.
You can either set AS and MS as windows service (or) AS and nodemanager as service.

Create New Oracle R12 Server with multi nodes and migrate the Production Data on it ?
Good Day,
I have New Task and I don't know how to start.
Am working on Oracle Application 12.1.3
And Database 11.2.3
OS Redhat Linux 6.1
My Production Server have the database and the application on the same Server (Single node),
I want to create another 2 Servers with same Operating system to separate the application and the Database to be each one on separate server (Multi Nodes),
And Migrate the Production Server Data on It?
And i need to know how many days it will takes because we are live now ?
RegardsInstall the OS on the new servers -- Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Linux x86-64 (Doc ID 761566.1)
Use Rapid Clone to move the application/database to the new server.
Rapid Clone Documentation Resources For Release 11i and 12 (Doc ID 799735.1)
Cloning Oracle Applications Release 12 with Rapid Clone (Doc ID 406982.1)
For the duration, it depends on the size of your application/database and how long it takes to copy the files.

It seems that node manager appends system PATH to the java.library.path of the server it is trying to start. The problem is spaces in the system PATH:
-Djava.library.path=C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\bin;.;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\native\win\32;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\bin;C:\bea\JROCKI~1\jre\bin;C:\bea\JROCKI~1\bin;C:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\native\win\32\oci920_8;c:\program files\imagemagick-6.2.8-q16;C:\Program Files\Support Tools\;C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn\
java expects another option after space.
How do I make nodemanager not to append system path to server's java.library.path?
Is there a way to make node manager start server nodes with java.library.path value in quotation marks?
P.S. I'm running node manager as windows service. I saw a post that solves this problem by starting node manager from command line but this solution is not sufficient.Gediminas Aleknavicius skrev:

This news group is about JRockit. People here tend not to know that
much about non-JRockit products (like nodemanager). Try some WLx forum,
they should be able to answer your question!

Error when trying to start managed server from node manager
I have a managed server which is authenticated through a WeblogicAuthenticProvider. When starting the managed server from command line I need to setup certain jars in the classpath in order to start it successfully. However when I try and start the managed server from a node manager, I receive the following error.
Any ideas as to what is going on are appreciated. Is there any way to force Weblogic Node manager to invoke the actual startManagedWeblogic.cmd when bringing up the managed server
Thanks

Stop managed server without node manager and admin server
What are the commonly used ways to stop managed Weblogic server without node manager running and without administration server running?
(I have only one solution: on the managed server startup dump process ID to a file, and then when I want to stop it, send a signal to this process ID and kill JVM. But it seems not very clean way.)
(The managed server is started when both node manager and admin server are down, and I provide boot.properties of admin server to the managed server to start.)
UPDATED: And I don't want to start neither admin server, nor node manager even temporarily.
Edited by: user12163080 on Jun 24, 2010 4:40 AMHai,
I read the Oracle weblogic wlst script document without Admin server you cannot connect the managed server through the WLST script. see the below lines
"The start command starts Managed Servers or clusters in a domain using Node Manager.
To use the start command, WLST must be connected to a running Administration Server.
To start Managed Servers without requiring a running Administration Server, use the
nmStart command with WLST connected to Node Manager."
"You shut down a server to which WLST is connected by entering the shutdown command
without any arguments.
When connected to a Managed Server instance, you only use the shutdown command to shut
down the Managed Server instance to which WLST is connected; you cannot shut down another
server while connected to a Managed Server instance.
WLST uses Node Manager to shut down a Managed Server. When shutting down a Managed
Server, Node Manager must be running.
In the event of an error, the command returns"
They are two option if you are using adminserver then we can stop the any Managed server.
The option is if you are using the nodemanager without admin server we can stop the any Managed server.
The last final solution to kill the particular Managed server pid.

Steps to clone database in other server with restore daily
Hi,
I think i know what is the steps but need a guru that give me the ok.
I have been asked to perform a clone database (11.2.0.3 with ASM) in another server. The original database (call PROD) has full backup everyday that it automatically (with crontab and a script i guess) restore the second database. The problem i see its that the original database is a RAC (2 nodes) but the second database is standalone (call TEST)
I think the steps are:
1) create a standalone database in second server with same number of diskgroups and same directories
2) copy full backup to TEST server.
3) duplicate with rman:
connect auxiliary sys/password@TEST
connect target /
startup auxiliary nomount;
run {
allocate auxiliary channel ch1 type disk;
duplicate target database to 'TEST' nofilenamecheck;
release channel ch1;
4) copy PFILE from PROD and modify (like standalone database) at TEST
5) startup nomount; --test database
6) restore controlfile from '< backup piece name of controlfile auto backup copied in step 2>'; --at test database
7) alter database mount; --test database
8) recover, restore from full backup and open database-->
run {
allocate channel d1 device type disk format ' <path of the copied backup in step 2 >';
set until sequence < sequence> thread < thread# >;
restore database;
recover database;
SQL> alter database open resetlogs;
9) like its a backup that has 2 undo tablespaces, should i drop 1?:
SQL> drop tablespace UNDOTBS2 including contents and datafiles;
All this steps at first time, are they right?, to do it automatically in the script i should use 2) 5) 6) 7) 8)?
-- like the databases names are different, should i have any problem when restore de controlfile? if yes, how to avoid it?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the inconveniences

restore the second database. The problem i see its that the original database is a RAC (2 nodes) but the second database is standalone (call TEST)
That should not be an issue. Even with RAC there is still only a single database to duplicate.
I think the steps are:

2) copy full backup to TEST server.
3) duplicate with rman:

Edited by: Me_101 on 30-jul-2012 5:46Take a look at the DUPLICATE DATABASE command in rman. Key is to connect to the production db as target, duplicate databse as auxiliary
connect catalog rman/cat@rmcat
connect target sys/pswd@proddb
connect auxiliary /
run {
duplicate target database to NEWDBSID;
} where NEWDBSID is the name of the new database
Put together what you think is the correct procedure and give it a shot. If you have specific problems, bring them to the forum. -
Adding patch jar file while starting Managed Server through Node Manager
Hi,
I am using Weblogic Express 10.0 on Linux env, Jrockit JVM.
I have a patch jar file from BEA, I added it to Weblogic start script, when I start the Managed server by using startManagedWeblogic.sh script, I can see that patch jar file is added to classpath when I grep for Java process.(ps -ef | grep -i java).
But when I start the Managed server through NodeManager and grep for java process, I dont see the patch jar file added to classpath of Managed server process which is started.
Can someone let me know if I have to add the patch jar file somewhere else along with Weblogic start script if starting Managed server through Node Manager?
Weblogic ConsultantThanks for your response.
I found another way to do this.
Edit nodemanager.properties file and set StartScriptEnabled=true (By default it is false), and then restart the Node Manager process.
Enabling this setting to true will enable the NodeManager process to use startManagedWeblogic.sh script while starting the managed server, all the added jar files, memory settings will be taken from start script of Weblogic

Starting Manage Server using node manager
Hi,
Hi,
I am using Weblogic server 11g and I have deployed Admin server in one of my unix machine(machine1) and i able to start my Admin server using node manager, and when i try to start my Managed server in another machine(machine2) using the node manager(that machine node manager) its throwing error;
Note: am able to start Managed server using Adminurl and able to connect to Managed server node manager successfully,
but not able to start Managed server using node manager
its giving exception as below;
error:- wls:/nm/webdomain> nmStart('ms1')
Starting server ms1 ...
Error Starting server ms1: weblogic.nodemanager.NMException: Exception while starting server 'ms1'
plz help me out in this
Thanks in advanceAn example to start managed servers on different machine is provided here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=6637
"By default, WebLogic is installed and configured with the DemoIdentity.jks keystore. This certificate and key are created by utils.CertGen with the default options of containing only the host name in the common name field (cn), and not the fully-qualified DNS name. As a result, attempts to establish SSL connections may fail in some situations due to a host name verification exception. When using the demo certificates in a multi-server domain, managed server instances will fail to boot if they cannot establish an SSL connection with the Admin Server and the a BAD_CERTIFICATE error is generated. This error occurs because the host name verifier, which is enabled by default in all WebLogic domains and which is used during the SSL handshake, compares the value of the cn field in the certificate with the fully-qualified DNS name of the SSL server that accepts the SSL connection. If these names do not match, the SSL connection is dropped." -
Starting Managed Server using Node Manager Command Line
Hi,
I've configured the Node Manager and it is connected to the Admin Server without problem. Now I wanted to start the Managed Server through the console but it is failing and my guess is the command line used syntax is not correct.
My question is, how do I change the command line that Node Manager uses to start the Managed Server? I've try using the Server Start tab configuration and it seems like not working. I've also try to update the .properties file for the Managed Server as well.
Each time I look at the Managed Server logs, it is giving me this line...
NodeManager> <Starting WebLogic server with command line: <....>
