ServiceControlException exception in Weblogic Workshop webservice
Hi,
I have created WebService control file (*.jcx) from an appropriate wsdl file in Weblogic Workshop(jrockit81sp3_142_04). My interface declaration in control file looks like:
* @jc:location http-url="http://<host>:<port_number><service_address>"
* @jc:wsdl file="#InternalWebServiceWsdl"
* @common:xmlns namespace="urn:fais:InternalWebService.wsdl" prefix="tns"
* @common:xmlns namespace="http://www.iso20022.org/" prefix="iso20022"
* @common:xmlns namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/mime/" prefix="mime"
* @common:xmlns namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/http/" prefix="http"
* @common:xmlns namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap12/" prefix="soap12"
* @common:xmlns namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" prefix="wsdlsoap"
* @common:xmlns namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" prefix="soapenc"
* @common:xmlns namespace="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" prefix="xs"
* @common:xmlns namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" prefix="soap"
* @common:xmlns namespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" prefix="wsdl"
* @common:xmlns namespace="urn:fais:FaisWSTypes.xsd" prefix="fais"
* @common:target-namespace namespace="urn:fais:InternalWebService.wsdl"
public interface InternalWebServiceControl extends com.bea.control.ControlExtension, com.bea.control.ServiceControl {
My method declaration in control file looks like:
* @jc:protocol form-post="false" form-get="false"
* @jc:parameter-xml include-java-types="java.lang.String java.util.Calendar"
* @jc:return-xml include-java-types="wsdl.faisInternalWebService.NAVStatistics"
public wsdl.faisInternalWebService.StatisticsNAVResponseDocument StatisticsNAV (java.lang.String ISIN, java.util.Calendar FromDt);
When invoking webservice through this control file I get an error message:

What does it mean? How should I solve this problem?
Vikram,
Can you check the startweblogic.cmd script and verify that the following
property -Dweblogic.jws.ProductionMode is set to true ?

Hi,
We have created a set of Web Services using Web Logic Workshop. They workfine
on the development server(Weblogic 7.0 SP4) when run from Workshop. Wepackaged
the Services into an EAR file and deployed them on the Production Server(Weblogic
7.0 SP4, Platform Domain) where the property WLS_PROD_MODE is set to True.When
we try to access a Web Service thru the URL, we are getting a Null Pointerexception.

Consuming Weblogic Workshop WebService
Hi,
I am getting an error running the generated client stubs for a weblogic workshop based document style webservice. (I don't have a problem with a rpc style webservice in the same configuration.)
The error is to do with extracting the return string/int and fromElement is reporting a classcast exception. Using tcp monitor I have seen the return message and it seems fins. There is no 'xsi:type' attribute on the return xml element.
Also I can't seem to access the xmlelement value, the return string/int in the debugger watch window. I have casted the element to a node and getValue on the node returns null.
Any help would be appreciated.
JamesHi,
Additional Information
I am able to access the weblogic workshop doc style webservice from VB.NET generated proxy without a problem.

Default namespace in WebLogic Workshop generated WSDL
Hello there,
I am trying to access a very simple webservice developed in WebLogic Workshop
(say something like HelloWorld.jws) from a ColdFusion application. However, I
get an Axis fault on Coldfusion implying that it could not invoke the required
method. I am running the examples server and the work shop. I noticed that some
of the documentation mention changing the namespace from http://www.openuri.com
to something else.
Does that have to do anything with the service not being able to be invoked or
it could be something else?
Could not perform web service invocation "Hello" because AxisFault faultCode:

The exception you mentioned about changing the namespace should not cause
the behavior that you are noticing.
The exception that you are receiving states that your ColdFusion application
is not able to access the Workshop Web Service.
Are both coldfusion and Workshop on the same physical machine ?
If they are not on the same machine.
Are you able to access the wsdl via a browser from the machine on which
coldfusion installed ?
The wsdl has an service name tag
- <port name="SimpleTestSoap" binding="s0:SimpleTestSoap">
<soap:address location=http://localhost:7001/Raj/SimpleTest.jws />
</port>
This address location is be default the machine on which this Web Service is
built, and this defaults to localhost:7001.
This entry can be modified by editing the weblogic-jws-config.xml file found
in the WEB-INF/lib folder of the project.
Can you make sure that address location contains the correct address and
also check to see if the Web Service is available via any browser.
Hope this help.

Workshop : webservices : Dynamic Client
I am using WebLogic Workshop 8.1 to crate a test Web Service.
I have created a webservice with two methods to support
1. SOAP RPC call
2. SOAP document call
This is working fine with the test harness provided by workshop.
I have written two Dynamic clients to test this web service (one for soap RPC
type call and another for soap "document" type call).
The SOAP RPC type call dynamic client is working fine.
The SOAP "document" type call dynamic client is throwing the following exception

Hi Purna,
I have attached the source for a DII client that I think may work for
you.
It contains comments that describe what I think is causing the problem
you are
having in WLW 8.1, because I was having the same problem in WLW 7.0 :-)
You'll need to have %WL_HOME%\server\lib\webservices.jar in the client's
CLASSPATH,
because that's where the ElementCodec (and DocumentCodec) is. Let me
know if it
works.

Hi Bruce,
The example you provided is working fine. In fact I had used your example
to write
the Dynamic client.
Background on my requirement:
I had created a web service out of my application, which has set ofenterprise
java beans. The web service is working fine with WLW test harness and
static client.
I want to write a Dynamic Cient for this web service. Inside this web
service
the methods are expecting a document object. I am getting the exceptions
for
the Dynamic Client.
Please find the attached zip file containg the wsdl files.
It would be great if you can provide a working document style web service
(*.jws
file - generated from WL workshop) and Dynamic Client code.
Thanks,
Purna

Hi,
I would suggest trying to narrow down the problem. I suspect that there
are server side issues. Try going back to this example and making
sure
it works OK.

Spin up WLW and compare the two WSDLs. I suspect there will be some
differences that could be causing your problem.
Could you tell us a bit about your goal?
Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
I have removed the "rpc" style method and now I have only "document"style method,
but still I am getting the same exception with Dynamic Client.
Do you have any suggetions?.

Hello,
Take a look at "style" attribute:
http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/wsp.html#1015120 in the
web-service element, it states the "style" attribute applies to
an
entire Web Service, all operations specified in a single <web-service>
element must be either RPC-oriented or documented-oriented; WebLogic
Server does not support mixing the two styles within the same Web
Service.
Hope this helps,
Bruce

How to open a wsdl file in Weblogic Workshop 10.3? Cannot seem to do so!
Hello, I'm new to Weblogic Workshop 10.3 & will be working with learning how to develop and use webservices using the application. I have a WSDL file which i want to use in a project but cannot seem to import or use the file as required.
If I click on "File -> New -> Service Control ->" I get the option to "Select the WSDL file to use" however I cannot find any WSDL files I copy into my workbench folder. Even if I close the project, close workshop, re-open workshop, reopen a project the WSDL file are not available to choose.
Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong or how to resolve this issue?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.The Adobe PDF printer is no longer available in Snow Leopard. This is an announce to this fact at the entrance to the Acrobat Macintosh forum. The old methods for doing what you want will not work in Snow Leopard. I recommend you look at Quite Imposing. It can do everything you want and more. Alas, it comes at a price.

Invoking web service using Weblogic Workshop (JCX)
Invoking web service using Weblogic Workshop
Posted: 5 Jan 2005 23:31 PM Reply
Hi,
I have WSDL from which I have generated a web service control (.jcx) using Weblogic Workshop.
I need to write a client which will invoke the web service using the control.
Can someone help me on how to go about this ?
BTW .. I also tried the clientgen route and tried to generated the proxy jar from the WSDL but wasn't successful because of a existing clientgen bug.
Refer bugHi,
if the consumer of the webservice is a control-aware consumer ( pageflow, control, process ) simply drag the control to this consumer and the control variable is ready for use.
if the consumer is not control-aware, try to generate a proxy using eg. the axis tool, or handcode your proxy class.

I installed the WebLogic Workshop 8.1.2 (Build: 2003.1211.044125). I built all
six projects
and everything seems to work well.
I could access to the sample web services on the WebLogic server from the local
server
as well as from a remote client machine by pointing the browser to the following
two URLs respectively:
http://localhost:7001/WebServices/index.jsp (browser from local server)
http://192.168.1.100:7001/WebServices/index.jsp (browser from remote client machine)
When the "Simple web service sample" page shows up, I could click from the local
server, and
go to the HellowWorld.jws link. However, from the remote machine, I got the "Page
not found"
error when clicking on the HelloWorld.jws link.
I checked the index.jsp file in the
C:\bea\weblogic81\samples\workshop\SamplesApp\WebServices directory on the WebLogic
server, and found that all the href reference has the //localhost:7001 prefix
in the link,
which caused the remote browser to fail.
I then tried to global replacement and remove all the //localhost:7001 references
in the
index.jsp file so that the line changed from something like this:
href="http://localhost:7001/WebServices/HelloWorld.jws?.EXPLORE=.TEST">HelloWorld.jws</a>
to something like this:
href="http:/WebServices/HelloWorld.jws?.EXPLORE=.TEST">HelloWorld.jws</a>
and then save the index.jsp file in the same directory.
Now, I fresh both of my browsers and I can correctly access to the HelloWorld.jws,
and
all other sample links, from the local server as well as from the remote client
machine.
Why is //localhost:7001 needed in the index.jsp file? It seems that without it
the
samples work better.Hello,
You will need the full URL when you extend out of your local
environment. Check out docs here [1] for an overview or for an extended
story, review the issues [2] involved with clusters, DNS, IP addr, etc.
Hope this is of some value,
Bruce
