session expired within 10-20 seconds while working on Visual Administartor.
Details: In VA, each dispatcher and Server process have four components:
kernel, Interfaces, Libraries and Services.
While working on Kernel in VA of dispatcher or Server, I'm getting 'session expired' after every 10-20 seconds.
I'm not getting the same 'session expired' problem while working on interfaces, libraries or services.
After 2-3 minute of wait, again i'm able to work on kernel but again after 10-20 seconds, session get expired.
Pls suggets to resolve this problem. We are on SP level 20.

Update on my problem of VA:
'Session expired' session only happened when i'm clicking the 'cluster manager' of Kernel or server instances.
For all managers in kernel, i'm not getting this problem.
I have seen some following properties in Cluster Manager. Not sure, these are the cause of problems:

I've now been having this problem for months. It just freezes up and either shows me the dumb color wheel or doesn't show me anything sometimes and i just cant do anything for about 20-60 seconds. i can't exposae or anything. Also while working on a power point presentation it froze 4 different times for good and i had to do a hard restart just to get it working again. i lost my work and had to keep starting over. it was so annoying. it seems most of the time it does it, it is while i'm in Excel, Outlook, or Powerpoint. so perhaps it has something to do with my microsoft office. but i have the newest version and all the updates and everything. and i believe its happened when doing other tasks too. So i just can't figure it out.
A few Mac friends suggested i free up some space on my hard drive and upgrade my RAM. So i did. i put all my videos and photos on an external harddrive and deleted them all on my computer. i also upgraded to 8 gigs of RAM.
And honestly i can't even tell a difference after doing both of these.
HELP! PLEASE HELP! I'M ABOUT TO GO CRAZY. And having all the non Mac believers telling me it cause i have a Mac even drives me more nuts..

it froze a few times over the last hour and half while browsing the internet.
and also while working in excel it all of the sudden shut down excel and said. "Excel has encountered and problem and needs to shut down, you may lose the work you were on." or something like that. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME TOO. Excel, outlook and powerpoint frequently just shut down on me out of now where. I've bolded and underlined when this happened.

PROBLEM USING FILTER TO KNOW SESSION EXPIRATION
Hi, i'm using a filter to know when the session expires but it appeasr not to work, so i am a bit confuse because the filter always executes well but when the session gets the timeout and the user send a request it isnt executed, the server redirects the user to the login page.
I am not sure about it, but is it possible that the reason of why the filter is not executed, is becuase i am using the apache form-authentication????

Okay, i have 2 bugs with maverick. First, when I delete a file within a window, the files deletes but the preview doesn't delete until I close the window and reopen it. Second, I work on a network of computers and the search feature is now buggy... When I search for a file, A) it asks me if it's a name, or it wont produce anything, and B), its slower than in prior OS versions and in some instances I have to toggle to a different directory and go back to my original directory in the search: menu bar or the search wont produce anything... Very buggy.
It appears to me that network file access is buggy in Maverick.
In my case I have a USB Drive attached to airport extreme (new model) and when I open folders on that drive they all appear empty. If I right click and I select get info after a few minutes! I get a list of the content.
It makes impossible navigate a directory tree.
File access has been trashed in Maverick.
They have improved (read broken) Finder. I need to manage a way to downgrade to Lion again. -

I also have a custom database JAAS login module as described in http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/1013/oc4jjaas/oc4j_jaas_login_module.htm
Thing is that when the session expires (timeout) I am redirected to the Login.jsp page of the JAAS Login Module instead of the SessionHasExpired.jspx page.
Is there any way to say that the filter should go before the JAAS module ?
Am I missing something ?

no, unfortunately not. The servlet filter is executed after the container checked for user authentication. This is less a problem for BASIC and cerificate based authentication because in both cases users are authenticated automatically (even if using custom LoginModules) by the brower or cerificate.
Form based authentication is different because the browser doesn't re-establish the authentication and the container checks for security before the servlet is called.

Please help. Insufficient info given in user guide.

Also, now when this is done, I want to come to my second doubt i.e.
when I click EDIT on the C_BIA_MODULE report, I would like to show my right side of shuttle being populated from the associated PRODUCT LINE VERSIONS (info present in C_BIA_MOD_PROD_LINE_VER_REL), how can I do that, I have tried writing a process for fetching the rows under Page Rendering section, but it didn't work. As C_BIA_MOD_PROD_LINE_VER_REL has two columns MODULE_CODE, PLV_CODE both Foreign keys, so combination of them is a PK here, so while creating a process, I input these two columns in primary and secondary key column values. On the right side of shuttle, it shows me the values I associated last time on this page (so have to delete this cache element also)

we are struggling to get the HttpSession to work. We took the example from the OAS Servlet guide (Example 4-1 Creating a JServlet session). It consistently leads to the 'Session Expired' OAS message when called more than once.
What are we doing wrong? Is there any patch we should apply?

I have a couple cartridges installed, C and Perl, and it starts those cartridges up and then fails. I don't get the same error message that you do, but there is an error in the wrb.log:
`OWS-10911: Throwing exception for reason: wrkpGetProperty 2 `
`OWS-04793: Operation oracle_OAS_System_CartridgeServerFactory_create_nwreturns exception IDL:omg.org/CORBA/UNKNOWN:1.0 `
I'm not sure what this is all about, but it does start up my cartridges at first, because I specified a mininum number to start up initially, and a minimum number of instances.
They just don't come back if terminated, since wrksf isn't there.
BTW, this is the same error I encountered when, on NT, I compiled a c cartridge with Metroworks CodeWarrior instead of MS Visual C++ v6.0. So I wonder if this has something to do with compiler incompatibility, if wrksf was compiled with a different compiler from the rest of OAS. While compilers don't usually matter for C, they do for C++, and all binaries and libraries must be compiled with the same compiler/linker to work together.

Why am I getting a number of session expired terminations on my yahoo email since upgrading to 31.0?
Sometimes I'm logged into my yahoo email for just a few seconds and am getting a session expired notice. I've run Malwarebytes to look for malware, but it came up empty. Never had this problem prior to upgrading to Firefox 31.0.
I have not tried other browsers. I don't like either IE or Chrome.
Any ideas what to do?
Thanks.Currently, your More System Details shows you start up automatically in private browsing mode (Privacy set to "Never remember history"). Is that the same as how you were using Yahoo! mail in Firefox 30?
In the past, Yahoo! sites were sensitive to connection changes. You generally could not stay logged in with one of the connection settings:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
* "Auto-detect proxy settings" caused problems
* "No proxy" should work
Not sure whether that is a factor here. Is there anything else that could be causing your connection to vary, such as a private VPN or Tor? -
ISE 1.2 Guest Access session expired
We have set up the ISEs to allow wired guest users to logon with CWA but every time we get
"Your session has expired. Sign on again".
We successfully get to the portal and can logon, change password, accept conditions but then we just get the session expired page.

Now the reason appears to be that the guest portal being accesed is on an ISE in our DMZ but the RADIUS/MAB authentication is done by our internal ISEs (all ISEs are part of the same cluster however). This is because the NAD is a switch and its management interface is on the inside of the network while the guest VLAN is in a DMZ. If we authenticate the RADIUS and guest on the same ISE (by breaking routing/security) then the access is granted and it all works corrcetly.
We are summarising that the session ID sent by the RADIUS ISE server is not avaialble to the Guest Portal ISE server so the session ID does not exist in the session cache.
So does the guest portal ISE server have to be the same ISE server that does the RADIUS/MAB session generation? There is no obvious way to tie a FQDN (e.g. guest.ourdomain.com) to the ISE used by the NAD.
Should the session ID not be shared across all enforcement nodes?
Any other ideas or thoughts?

Thing is, it rather makes the CWA static IP/Hostname option redundant/useless in a resilient configuration. It also means that the NAD must use the guest network for dot1x traffic or that the guest nework must be able to route over/into the internal network neither of which appear to be ideal from a security perspective... -

Both servers are approved as certificate authorities for the domain and can issue computer certificates using the computer certificate template. There is a group policy object applied to all workstations that contains an automatic computer certificate request,
but the actual "certificate services client auto-enrollment" element is "not configured". This process seems to work like a round robin in that computers with no certificate can wind up with a certificate from either certificate
authority. I need all PCs to have both certs for a DirectAccess migration. I have successfully used SCCM to ensure all PCs have both certificates using compliance rules and a script using certreq.exe.
A machine will keep both certs until the older computer certificate moves into the 6 week window of expiration, then it gets purged. I have observed this behavior for over a month, even when the CA root certificate wasn't so close to expiring. I
can't figure out what setting is triggering the purge, but need to stop it. Maybe it's coming from default settings in local machine policy for an element that should be disabled in the group policy object supplying the automatic certificate request?
The worst part of this issue is that I can't recreate the purging behavior with gpupdates or restarts on my test machines.You should not be using Automatic Certificate Request Service (ACRS) for this - it was designed for Windows 2000 and is generally deprecated. Secondly, the reason it is acting like a round-robin as you describe it, is that templates are generally configured
to attempt to renew within 6 weeks of their expiration. Since the 2008 R2 CA is expiring within 6 weeks, it cant issue anything longer than its own remaining lifetime. It is a well known issue that issuing a certificate within the renewal period will cause
problems.
What you should do it use AutoEnrollment and issue a certificate with a very small renewal period (1 week perhaps) by creating a custom V2 template and issuing that from your 2008 R2 CA. Then on the 2012 R2 CA you will need ANOTHER template, as the computer
will only enroll for a certificate from each template. This one can be configured with a normal lifetime and renewal period.

Hi, i m using JAAS form based authentication on jboss for our application and we want session expired message to show in the login form when it loads for authentication after session expired.
do any one have any idea how to achive this as the application will never be able to detect that the session expired as it will always have a valid session available becoz ,When an HTTP session expires and the client makes a request to any secured resource, the JAAS subject will not be found for authorization. At this point, the security framework creates a new HTTP session, stores the target URL value in the session, and then redirects the user to the login page. After a successful login process, the user is forwarded back to the target page,
but our Web applications may need to capture these session expiration events and show some custom message to the user.
HTTP session listener doesn't work here as HTTP session listener does not allow you to create a new session.
Thanks in advanceObSSOCookie does have session time data. Access Manager SDK can parse the cookie and can access it's own settings for max and idle session time.
Trick is, once the user is logged out, the cookie is destroyed. I suspect there is no real practical way to do this.
I have pondered the idea that you could use AJAX to communicate with a service that uses the SDK to return data about current session state - "You have 40 seconds left to get your form filled out, buddy! 39, 38, 37..."

Apologies. The second link I gave you shows an ipad so I thought it would be more helpful. If you scroll part way down, you'll see an ipad. I know that most say it's mainly an IE issue, but there is mention of turning off javascript.
In the link below Apple claims that it blocks third party tracking if you turn on 'private browsing.' But is the site you're dealing with actually third party browsing? And if it's already embedded on your ipad, will clearing history, cookies and data take out your google issue? I know that when I do this, within minutes a long list of sites never visited are back on in 'website data'. Also, consider turning off java script. On 'accept cookies' click on never.
To see all this on your ipad, go to settings, then click on Safari. On the right, try turning off 'accept cookies.' Turn on private browsing'. Keep 'block pop-ups' on. Personally, I would try one thing at a time. For example, first turn on private browsing and see what happens when you open the scrabble app.
Then go to 'advanced' and look at website data. You possibly never visited many of those sites.
Apple's take on it is that they're protecting Safari users, whether it's a mac or an ipad.

Slowdown while working over wireless
I'm the system administrator of a small office composed of 7-8 Mac Mini computers managed by another machine running Mac OS X Server 10.5.1
All these Mac Minis are connected to the network via wireless, we have an Apple Extreme access point connected to the server.
Every staff's home folder is stored in the server and staff need to authenticate to OD to open a session on their Mac Minis.
The Mac Minis have been upgraded to 2 GB of RAM.
The problem :
Staff reported me that they are experiencing slowdown (beach ball or spinning ball) while working with Excel 2008 or other applications.
They get the beach ball while entering data in Excel sheets for example.
I know it's recommended to use cables when having home folders located in the server but the cables are just not there. And for the time being we have to use wireless.
I'm wondering if these slowdowns are caused by the use of wireless or not ?Try converting to portable accounts (making settings files and some cache files stay local, boot faster) if machines are used by the same user each time?

Depending on how big the office is, distance between users and basestation, wall thickness mode/version of machines and basestation (802.11n compatibility or not) and such, speed varies. If all are 802.11n it's better. Maybe get a second basestation to offload half of traffic? Test actual connection speed with AP Grapher:
