I suspect you're using verbose2zip to try to find the subset of required
classes. It uses the java -verbose output to try to guess at a
reasonable client-jar for your application.
8.1 does have a thin-client jar that would meet your needs, but that
wasn't available in 7.0
I believe stubs are dynamically generated in 7.0, but I'm not positive.
My best guess is your client jar is missing classes required by the
RMI runtime to dynamically load classes.
There's probably 3 things you could do:
1) try posting in the rmi newsgroup. They might be better able to help
you here.
2) Open a support case
3) Do the not-so-fun binary search where you look at the contents of the
weblogic.jar and your client.jar and gradually either remove from
weblogic.jar or add to your client.jar until it breaks/works again.

Ok, I think I have delimited the problem.
Because we use a 'heavy' java client to access our EJBs, we need to provide some
weblogic classes to the client JVM. Hence we have made a wlsclient.jar which is
a subset of weblogic.jar.
When we use the full weblogic.jar on the client, we don't get the previous exception.
But when we try to narrow this jar to the needed classes, we get this weird exception.
(By the way I think we use a BEA tool to extract the needed classes, can't remember
the name though...)
Anyway, what I do not understand is why do we have on failure on a stub class
of our own if the root cause is a missing weblogic class on the client application
Maybe we have missed something, and we should use a prepacked jar bundled with
WLS (Which one ?).
How do we achieve this ?
I invoke the WL gurus for this question...
Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your help with this. As it turns out, I received this message from
    the weblogic team here:
    =======
    All,
    The J2EE monitoring tool OVTA rolled out to Weblogic Farm Linux QA and Stage environment
    had a bug in the instrumentation. The bug induces a java.lang.IllegalAccessError.
    A patch as been rolled out to fix this issue.
    =======
    Once the patch was rolled out and weblogic was restarted, the issue disappeared.
    Thanks again for your help!

    BTW, I am using JCS for caching and JBoss 4.0. Any pointers will be most appreciated?

    You'll get a lot more help with this by posting this to the JBoss forums. This forum is about the J2EE SDK which uses the Sun Java System Application Server.

  • Compilation failed while generating stub classes using wscompile

    I am new to Web Services. I am trying to generate client stub classes from WSDL (provided by Seapine's with TestTarckPro Software), using wscompile. I am using JWSDP 1.6
    ====================================================================================
    Here's the wscompile command,
    wscompile -gen:client -d classes2 -keep -s classes2 -verbose config.xml
    =========================================================================
    Here's config.xml file
    <configuration xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jax-rpc/ri/config">

    packageName="testtrack_interface"/>
    </configuration>

    I am getting following compilation errors during stub generation. Following is the compilation error part of wscompile result output

    ==============================================================================
    My understanding is, while generating stubs, dashes or hyphens in variable names m-strFileName, m-strFixedRevision, m-dateFixedTimestamp are interpreted as minus sign and hence compilation is failing.
    I tried stub generation from same WSDL with Apache Axis and it's working fine. But stub generation is failing with JWSDP. Is this a problem with this WSDL file ? Am I missing something while using wscomplie command ?
    Please advise.
    Thanks

    Deepank-
    When generating forms from Designer, Designer attaches libraries - like ofgmes.pll, ofgnavl.pll, etc. You will need to copy these libraries to the same directory where your forms reside on your Linux box. To find out what libraries ate attached to your form, open it on your windows PC after generating it from Designer and you will see the attached libraries. Also, watch out for the case-sensitivity of Linux. If you have the Designer libraries on your linux box and you still get errors, try changing the case of the names of the libraries.
    Hope this helps,
    Dan

  • Error While Generating Stub

    I don't think that the stub I'm generating is any good. I've been having a problem for a while now, where I can't register my remote object with the registry. The stack trace is throwing out a class not found exception, referring to my generated stub class. Also, by coincidence, this time around I had my IDE open in the background while I was generating the stub in a command prompt, and when the stub class appears in the ide (it has the rmi example working dir mounted) it shows up with an error badge - symbolizing that there is something wrong with the object.
    Now, the ide doesn't give me any information about what is wrong with the class, but it would make sense that the sutb is not being generated correctly, with the problems that I've been experiencing. Any ideas, as to how I could be generating a bad stub?
    I'm calling:
    rmic -v1.2 -classpath . test.rmi.timestamp.TimestampServer
    (i'm running jsdk 1.4.0_01
    Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Are you using Eclipse as your IDE ? And are you trying to run your server from within Eclipse ?
    If so (and possibly if not), you'll probably find that the problem is that you've not included your stub class files in the classpath when you run your code. Since Eclipse doesn't compile the stubs for you, this won't necessarily happen automatically.
    I've not tried the following tool, but it looks like it might ease things along if you are using Eclipse:

  • Error handling in generated stubs

    Hello,
    I've been playing around with Flex Builder 3 and WS and I am
    puzzled by how one can handle generic SOAP error messages (i.e. not
    the service faults, but connection errors, message parsing related
    errors, etc.).
    Here is what I try:
    1 Generate service stubs out of an existing WSDL using Flex
    Builder
    2 Create a dead simple Flex app that makes a WS call via
    stubs
    3 Trying to call an unreliable WS, and I get Flash popup
    with the stack trace:
    quote:
    TypeError: Error #1090: XML parser failure: element is
    malformed.
    at
    mx.rpc.soap::SOAPDecoder/decodeResponse()[E:\dev\3.1.0\frameworks\projects\rpc\src\mx\rpc \soap\SOAPDecoder.as:234]

    at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()
    at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent()
    at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete()
    It looks like neither registering fault handler nor adding
    event listener to the AsyncToken catches this error.
    Does anyone know if I should I be modifying the generated
    stubs to catch this kind of errors or there is a more elegant
    approach to fix this? Thanks.

  • Problem with WSDL generated with wscompile JAX-RPC

    Ok well I have successfully built a Web Service (From an existing wsdl) and Static Stub Client they work perfectly. I then I tried to connect to it using a Delphi Web Service Client. The client cant change, the problem I am getting is it is requesting using the variable name I am using and the WSDL has String_1.
    Ie. it gives me:
    unexpected element name: expected=String_1, actual= {targetNameSpace} [Variable Name]
    I suspect this is a problem with how the WSDL is generated any suggestions?

    THanks for the response, I originally used axis WSDL2Java. And only used the interface class. I think this is where my whole thing fell down. Although this worked with a static stub client that I used.
    I have now generated the server side java files using wscompile and am l looking how to implement the server. It doesn't look like it has a implementation class there. And there isn't much information on how to do it.

  • F4 help for fields in maintenance view resp. generated maintenance screen

    Hello,
    I’m new to ABAP and I have to deal with the following requirement:
    I have a maintenance view V1 what from a maintenance screen was generated automatically by the maintenance screen generator.
    Now I have to add a search help for one field F1 of the maintenance screen. The values for the search help of F1 depend on a specific value of a second field F2 of the maintenance screen. So I need value of F2 as import parameter for f4-help. F1 and F2 come from different tables.
    As I’m new to ABAP I have several questions or thoughts:
    - I’m not able to easily add a search help to F1 because I’m using the maintenance view V1 and that’s why it is not possible to assign the import parameter F2 to the search help – right?
    - In general, its not that easy to add search help to views than tables or structures - why?
    - I’m not able to just modify the generated objects because further automatic generation of the maintenance screen will delete it – right?
    - The generated function module provides user includes to add user specific coding. Is there any chance to add a f4-help to field F1 and assign value of F2 to that search help as import parameter with coding in user include?
    - any other ideas? I did not expect this topic to be so complicated as the requirement to change f4-help in a maintenance view resp. screen isn't very special.
    can anyone help me?
    Thank You!
    Regards
    Fabian

    Hi Fabian,
    Phew! Thats quite a few questions in one... I'll try to answer them to best of my knowledge..
    You can definitely have an external Search Help for a field of a Maintenance View, by calling it directly in the Screen Action Flow, using a PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST (like PAI or PBO). While defining such custom code on a generated screen, always make sure you do not write the coding inside the generated includes (SVIM* or <FUGR>TOP, <FUGR>DAT, etc..). Define new includes, or use those which are not generated by View Maintenance. This way, even if the dialogue is regenerated, your custom code will not vanish.
    This will answer your questions 1 and 2 generally, and your question 3 also.
    A Maintenance View, is something where values are read and populated purely at run-time. It does not have an Entry Help or such options, as it depends on the underlying tables. I hope this further helps with questions 1 and 2.
    Coming to your question 4 and 5, which form the main question - pre-filling value of F2 while calling search-help for F1 - yes, it is possible. On the view maintenance screen, there are standard structure variables (like EXTRACT TOTAL etc), which will give you the field values of the current record. But, it can no way assure that when you call the help for F1, the field F2 is already filled!
    For this, I can suggest that you programmatically implement a check to see if F2 value is filled, and read if it is. Or, if it is not filled, maybe you can shoot a Pop-up for F2, take the value at run-time, find help for F1 and get value, and also fill the F2 value (from your implementation) into the currect screen F2 value! (Phew...it is complex...)
    But am sorry, there is no other way, wherein you can gaurentee that F2 value is pre-filled always, when you can help for F1. (You could try making F2 as obligatory on screen, but it still doesnt necessarily solve this purpose..!).
    Hope it helps. Get back to me by e-mail if you need more help, or simple post a reply.
    Regards,

  • Xrpcc modeler error when trying to generate stub classes from a WSDL

    I'm trying to generate JAX-RPC stub classes (both client and server side) from a WSDL in which one of the message parts references a complexType element defined in the <types> section of the WSDL. Here is my little WSDL document:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <definitions name="Book_Def"
    targetNamespace="myTypes"
    xmlns:tns="myTypes"
    xmlns:xsd1="myTypes"
    xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/">
    <types>
    <xsd:schema targetNameSpace="myTypes"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xsd:element name="Book" type="xsd1:BookType"/>
    <xsd:complexType name="BookType">
    <xsd:all>
    <xsd:element name="authors" type="xsd:string" maxOccurs="10"/>
    <xsd:element name="preface" type="xsd:string"/>
    <xsd:element name="price" type="xsd:float"/>
    </xsd:all>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:schema>
    </types>
    <message name="runMyPgm">
    <part name="book" type="xsd1:Book"/>
    </message>
    <message name="getPgmResponse">
    <part name="result" type="xsd:string"/>
    </message>
    <portType name="MyPgmIFPortType">
    <operation name="runMyPgm">
    <input message="tns:runMyPgm"/>
    <output message="tns:getPgmResponse"/>
    </operation>
    </portType>
    ... Binding stuff
    </port>
    </service>
    </definitions>
    I've tried many combinations of defining my complex type and input message and whenever I run xrpcc using this WSDL as input, I get a Error: Modeler error: invalid entity name: Book (in namespace "myTypes"). Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what am I doing wrong in my <types> or <message> definitions to cause this error? I've had some luck generating stubs when the part types are all simple types, but I've not had any luck with getting a <complexType> definition accepted by xrpcc. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    Yes you can specify type mapping in configuration file and probably this will solve the problem, but I've never tested this approach. Perhaps I'm not advanced user. Actually the serializerFactory and deserializerFactory are a little vague for me:(

  • Generating Stub's n  Skeleton

    HI floks,
    I am very new to RMI, plz tel me how to generat Stub and Skeleton of implimation classes.
    Advanced thanx to all
    Sussec

    Firstly , compile all the require java files
    secondly....use this
    rmic -v1.2 (ur main class name)
    if u use this args"-v1.2" u'll only get Stub class. No need for Skeleton. If ur both client and server application call methods each other.compile with "rmic" for both of them..client and server....
    u also should c the rmi tutorials on java.sun.com...

  • Cannot generate stub objects...access denied

    Has anyone come accross this?
    I am attempting to access a coldfusion 9 webservice that I created and am also consuming.  The pair works fine when both requesting page and the webservice are resident on my development server, but generates the following error when in production:
    Error Occurred While Processing Request
    Cannot generate stub objects for web service invocation.
    Name: http://casadiablo.homeip.net/WebServices/SimpleWebService.cfc?wsdl. WSDL: http://casadiablo.homeip.net/WebServices/SimpleWebService.cfc?wsdl. java.security.AccessControlException: access denied ("java.io.FilePermission" "C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.7.0_04/jre/lib/wsdl.properties" "read") It is recommended that you use a web browser to retrieve and examine the requested WSDL document to ensure it is correct. If the requested WSDL document cannot be retrieved or is dynamically generated, it is likely that the target web service has programming errors.
    The error occurred in D:/home/casadiablo.net/wwwroot/indexCDNet.cfm: line 10
    Called from "java.io.FilePermission" "C: line -1
    Called from "java.io.FilePermission" "C: line -1
    Called from D:/home/casadiablo.net/wwwroot/indexCDNet.cfm: line 10
    Note: the wsdl renders just fine in a browser at the address I'm using so it's not a can't find it or location issue.  I'm no expert in reading wsdl files, though, so it could render some clues if I knew what to look for.
    For context:
    When I go from my development environment to production, the consuming page is on casadiablo.net/indexCDnet.cfm (hosted by Hostek).  The webservice is on a PC in my home that has a dedicated IP address.
    I've searched all over for an "access denied" java error (related to CF web services) discussion and have found nothing.  Any ideas as to how to troubleshoot where in this chain a java.io.FilePermission error might be triggered would be greatly appreciated!!

    Case solved. It turns out that this is totally a Hostek issue.  After exhausting all other options (including uninstalling and reinstalling java), it was a setting on the security sandbox that caused the error.  Well at least this will be out there for anyone else working with webservices and Hostek!

    Did anyone ever resolve this issue as I seem to be having the exact same issue???

  • How to use Jaxws to generate stubs instead of using jaxrpc?

    Hi All,
    In our code we have been using jax-rpc with JDK 4 to generate stubs. Now we have been told to switch to Jax-ws using JDK 5. Can jax-ws be used to generate stubs? Does jax-ws comes in package with jwsdk/jwsdp? If yes, then which version of jwsdp is to be used? Any pointers on this will be helpful!

  • Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion

    I was able to call the services on the development box - windows server without any problem at all, everything was working fine but the moment i uploaded to a linux box production server I get this error. "Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion"
    What could be the cause of this problem, i have googled a lot but no solution yet any ideas.

    Let me make it simple:
    1. Server A is our development server.- hosted inhouse with coldfusion installed.
    2. Server B is our production server - a linux server with coldfusion installed hosted on the internet
    3. Server C is a third party server containing the webservice - this is a windows server with .net
    coldfusion is installed on Server A, the code works here and can connect to server C without any problem. It gets the required respone
    but when the code was uploaded to server c it gives the error when we run it.
    now i tried just a simple code which works fine on server A below:
    <cfinvoke webservice="http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL" method="ConversionRate" returnvariable="ConversionRateResult">
        <cfinvokeargument name="FromCurrency" value="EUR" />
        <cfinvokeargument name="ToCurrency" value="USD" />
    </cfinvoke>
    <cfdump var="#ConversionRateResult#" />
    But when i uploaded it to server C: it returns the error
    Cannot generate stub objects for web service invocation.
    Name: http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL. WSDL: http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL. java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/coldfusion8/stubs/WS728929035/NET/webserviceX/www/Currency.java (No such file or directory) It is recommended that you use a web browser to retrieve and examine the requested WSDL document to ensure it is correct. If the requested WSDL document cannot be retrieved or is dynamically generated, it is likely that the target web service has programming errors.
    The error occurred in /home/works/public_html/currency.cfm: line 7
    5 :     <cfinvokeargument name="FromCurrency" value="EUR" />
    6 :
    7 :     <cfinvokeargument name="ToCurrency" value="USD" />
    8 :
    9 : </cfinvoke>
    Now if you try the preceeding code on a windows environment  it works fine but the moment you put in the in the linux environment it generates this error
    I feel that the error may actually be :
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/coldfusion8/stubs/WS728929035/NET/webserviceX/www/Currency.java (No such file or directory)
    but i am clueless as to what to do next
    Ok so I tried the wget command on the linux
    this is what i got
    -bash-3.2# wget http://www.webservicesx.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WDSL
    --2011-07-02 23:23:42--  http://www.webservicesx.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WDSL
