Set a "mobile" scroll behaviour to a scrollable List on a desktop app

Hi,
We're looking for some help on a Flex 4.5 AIR app deployed on a touch desktop environment.
We're developping a kind of a kiosk app originally made for desktop machines (mouse). Recently we've tested it on a touch screen used with a stylus or fingers (not a mobile device but a touch screen connected to a PC), everything run smoothly without any changes as the touch events on the screen are interpretated as a mouse interaction by the driver.
So everything works well but of course the UI is not designed to be manipulated with fingers and especially the behaviour of List scroll is not adapted : the desktop AIR app displays vertical scroll bars and buttons to scroll the list up and down but usually on a touch screen you scroll list by swiping it (touching an element and swiping up or left, the element is not selected because you've moved the finger before moving it up)
I know that this behaviour for a Scroller exists in flex 4.5 within a "Mobile Project" (apparently it is possible to compile a "Mobile Project" into a desktop AIR app...?)
So my questions are :
1) Is it possible to set up this "mobile" behaviour of a scrollable List to a desktop AIR app ?
2) Generally speaking, is it possible to set at the installation (by configuration or so) the "style" of the app (by "style" I mean the size and the behaviour of the components in order to be manipulated by a mouse or by a finger). It seems possible as the logic behind the component doesn't change, just the size (if it is a button and/or the bahaviour of the scroll if it is a List, and so on...). Is it something related to a Skin? or maybe a Theme?
3) What the difference between a "desktop AIR app" and a "mobile app" in Flex Builder 4.5? (both project seems to have the same compiler's arguments, etc...)?

Yes I use the mx datagrid because I need the drag and drop handling. The spark datagrid does not support this yet :-(
So I can write my own drag and drop handlers for the spark datagrid or a touch scroll function for the mx version.
I really think that componenents in Flex should be backwards compatible...

I would have thought that the Capabilities class would tell you, but oddly Android or Blackberry do not seem to be in the list: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/system/Capabiliti es.html#os
That said, you should not try to develop an app for a specific OS. You should develop for the availability, or lack thereof of the feature, such as a GPS or Camera or touch inputs, etc..

Use the Mobile Theme. In a Flex Mobile Project and your scrollers should automatically be the "Mobile Scrollers". You may also try setting "InteractiveMode" equal to touch. You could also try adding the mobile theme as a library on your "non mobile project" and setting the skin on your your scroller to use the scroller's mobile skin.

Can links inside "set text of container" behaviours open in a new page?

I am using the set text of container behaviour to show different information within the same page, to keep things neat and simple to navigate. Some of the text needs to be external links, but they open in the current page, not a new page even though I have set the target to _blank.
Is there another way to keep using the set text of container and have the links open in another page?

Setting up mobile accounts to delete after logout issues

Running a network with about 2,000 users. Due to the amount of time to login the sever at each workstation we set up about half of them to sync and to be mobile account within workgroup manager. We have the settings as followed for the sync....
create mobile account when users log in
and making network home and default sync setting.
delete mobile account after 0 hours (originally set to 5 days)
delete only after successful sync
for the rules we are using preference sync always, but not in background. Same for home sync rule.
So at first the users were logging in very fast and working great, the 1st 3 or 4 days we set up the delete mobile accounts to delete in 5 days. 2 days later we changed it to 0. in that time being about 300+ users logged in with the setting set to 5 .about 1 week later after changing the account expiry from 5 days to 0 hours most users started to get sync errors (from 10, 200+ errors) we looked into it a bit and noticed that under root/users...the users home directory were not being deleted fully, the entire folder is suppose to be deleted but instead it was only deleting downloads, pictures, videos ect, and it was leaving about 3 folders within its home. (documents, desktop and something else)
we noticed once that happened to a user, when they would to log out and try to log into the same work startion we would get an error stating
"unable to create mobile account, there was a problem while creating or accessing /user (then says users name)"
This issue is due to that work group manager is not fully deleting the synced account. If we go in as root and deleted the users home in HD/users, they user was able to log back in with no problem and it recreates its mobile home and works perfectly.
but as of now we have a hand full of users with this issue. please advise.
we are using workgroup manager version (10.6 ) 361.1.1

All local users have rwx and no permissions for groups or others on Desktop, Documents etc. as they should.
Mobile users have rwx and groups and others have rwx also on every folder. 06hstest is a mobile user

The best way to setup mobile printing for your devices is:
Go to the Setup menu (wrench icon) on your printer.
Go to the Web Services menu.
Enable web services.
After which, an information page should print out with a three setup process.
Sign up at ePrintCenter.com.
Register your printer's ePrint code (it will be on the information page on step two).
Customize your printer's ePrint address.
Now you can print on the go by emailing your printer from your device, and addressing the email to your printer's ePrint address.

In the load rule in the dimension build settings you would need to go to the tab dimension definition, choose the time dimension and right click on it. Select Edit properties. If you have not done so, set the dimension to be the time dimension. Then go to the generations/levels tab and set the generation names you need. For example if you want YTD, you would set the generation name to Year, if you want QTD set it to Quarter. You would set the number to the generation number that coorisponds to the generation. The DBAG has the list of names for all of the DTS members.

I work for a company with about 10 Macs, all laptops, all are on 10.5.
They have never had a server and have asked me to set one up for them. I am in the process of setting up a server here with a new copy of OS X Server 10.5. Here's my question.
The people here are half-wits and any kind of backup which involves them, you know, actually doing anything is never going to happen.
My thought was to set up Mobile accounts for all of them s this provides seamless syncing and no issues if they leave their office, The problem seems to be to set up a mobile account seems to require a new user where all the people here already have home folders/stuff on their personal laptops (we don't share computers). The user I create on Open Directory seem, even if i give them the same details of the current user on their laptops, to be different. Is there a way to make this work or should I just make them all Time Machine backups to the server instead?

So create a csv file with the following headers and data
UserID, Alias
UserID should be the user SamAccountName, and the Alias is the Mailbox Alias that you want to set. Supposing that the csv file is named users.csv and located under C:\ , open the Exchange Management Console and run:

No. You have to set it up on the device. Note that even with it set up, it will only work if:
a) The iPod is on or in sleep mode;
b) wi-fi is turned on;
c) the iPod is in range of a unsecured wi-fi source, or one that the device can otherwise connect to automatically (this is great if you lost it in your house somewhere); and
d) the finder has not restored the device to factory settings
Therefore, there is a very good chance that setting up mobile.me would actually help in locating to lost iPod.

Muse won't let you, at least not that I know of. You could find the class in the code that muse gives it position: fixed…I think. You could paste it into the head area of your page properties to override the class. I believe something like this would give you persistent nav bar, pinned at the very top, on mobile:
#youmuseclass {position: fixed;}
I wouldn't use any parallax on mobile either, the performance is terrible.

Am facing an issue in my sp portal.We have designed and developed the portal with OOTB document library views for site columns also. Going to enable the doc lib view. but we have some 35 columns in eeacha nd every document
library within our sub site. But if an end user wants to see the last column then he needs to scroll. but, since then my master page has fixed width, the top corner will be seen as blank. would like to know how can we set horizontal scrolling
in this doc lib view .

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to set the horizontal scroll bar for the document library when the last column postion exceed the fixed width.
I suggest you can try to use Jquery to set the width attribute of the menu bar dynamically if the document library width exceeded. You can add the Jquery or CSS style using SharePoint Designer under the PlaceHolderMain tag of document
library page. Also, you need to find the div id in your environment using Internet Explorer.

This is my question....:
I need a "viewer" app run in a desktop machine... via p2p... ( done and working )
I will like to include it in my iOS / Android Release, an then by example move it to the documents folder.
Run iTunes and then copy the file from the shared document folder.
Is this permited by apple / android / adobe ?

just tracing some kind of tests I'm doing.
A couple of hours ago I left working 2 instances of my Application, leaving alone this computer: one instance is the Mac desktop version and the other one is the Web version. In this case both versions were running on the same computer (an iMac with OS X Mavericks):
1) the AIR/Mac version have been recompiled yesterday with the new AIR4(.0.0.1619 - AIR 3.8 is used to fall in a equivalent way - no changes)
2) the Web version have been compiled targeting FP 11.8 and it is running on Chrome browser with PepperFlash NOT disabled (which reports version MAC 13.0.0.80, the latest)
I left working both the Mac and the Web versions of the Application opened on the pc screen (= not minimized) but kept totally behind some Terminal/ssh windows (= not on OS focus and the system is not asked to update any screen area of the app for sure).
I came back after about 2 hours and I got the browser version connected&running (but it is not a rule) and I also found the AIR-based Mac version disconnected (uau, usually I found the app disconnected but with the screen freezed at last user look ->) which rapidly reconnects upon my click on the Apple dock icon (bring to front).
Why these different behaviours? I ask to myself.
The two versions of the software are TOTALLY the SAME application: except for the first Flash file (a 24kb swf file for the Web version and a 170kb dmg file for the Mac version), basically a platform-dependent loader, both versions loads the same remote swf modules. Of course t is AIR (or my first Flash file?).

It may help to force close all open apps and reset your iPhone.

If you still can't enable mobile data for your various apps, the next step would be to reinstall iOS on your device by placing it in Recovery Mode, then choosing Update in iTunes.
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
