Is that possible to include p_index
within 'p_session.set_value' which
exist in master-detail form

I'm not sure that I understood the question correctly, anyway:
p_index parameter is always = 1 in 'MASTER_BLOCK'
p_index parameter runs from 1 to max no. of detail rows in your form for 'DETAIL_BLOCk'
you cannot address master block using the same p_index in your detail block, since master block has only one row.

There should be a number of BRF+ tutorials available in SCN which discuss the FDT APIs. You can have a look at them to get an idea of the various APIs available and their uses.
For your usecase, you should do the following.
        lo_fdt_function         TYPE REF TO if_fdt_function,
        lo_fdt_result           TYPE REF TO if_fdt_result,
* Get function handle
      CALL METHOD lo_fdt_factory->get_function
        EXPORTING
          iv_id       = lv_function_id
        RECEIVING
          ro_function = lo_fdt_function.
where lv_function_id is the GUID of the BRF+ function . You can either make it a constant , or you can use a FDT API to get the function GUID from the BRF+ application name and function name.
*   Set function context
    TRY.
        CALL METHOD lo_fdt_context->set_value
          EXPORTING
            iv_id    =
            ia_value =
This is one way to set the input context ( pass the input to the BRF+ function to process ). There are other ways to do this as well. Which one you use would depend on the kind of input you want to pass.

Trying to use set_value in onChange event handler

Is it acceptable to use p_session.set_value in the onChange event handler?
I am trying to do a couple of things in this event handler, I am trying to validate a code and if the code is invalid I wish to
show an alert. If the code is valid I then wish to fill another field with a value from the database. Both fields I am working
with in the event handler are table columns. I have not been able to track down a specific error message, however, when
I view source the code for this is blinking. Here is what I am trying, in the onChange event handler.

I think you are trying to use PL/SQL in the JAVASCRIPT onChange event handler. What you need to do is use JAVASCRIPT.
Put the following function on the (... before displaying the page) option on the Additional PL/SQL page.
Javascript function that loop through all fields on a form.
Set value Example:

You can call the above code from a Javascript Event Handler for a Form item. Example: (an item's OnChange Event)

      I have a situation where I have to input data into a BRFPLUS function as a table (i.e the data is input as select options where list or range of data can be provided).The corresponding output is also in the form a table .I've created this function in BRFPLUS and is working fine .Now I have to call it through ABAP code.Can someone kindly provide me with the probable code for this scenario.
E.g:
        ZT_MATNR is the table in brfplus representing the list of MATNR values input along with other such inputs to function module Z_FM
        ZT_ATM   is the resultant output table of the function which contains several fields.

BRFplus: DDIC Structure as Function Parameter results in Dump

Hi all,
I want to use Data Dictionary structure VBAK as a (signature) parameter to a BRFplus Function.
I have created a Data Object VBAK bound to the DDIC structure VBAK, and defined it as a parameter to my Function.
In my code to call the BRF function, I have:
DATA:
lo_context            TYPE REF TO if_fdt_context,
lo_function           TYPE REF TO if_fdt_function.
DATA:
ls_vbak               TYPE VBAK.
lo_context = lo_function->get_process_context( ).
lo_context->set_value(
    EXPORTING
      iv_name = 'VBAK'
      ia_value = ls_vbak ).
The SET_VALUE method results in a runtime error (program dump) of type UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE description u201CData objects in Unicode programs cannot be convertedu201D.
On investigation this seems to be because certain fields are represented differently in BRF. For example, the DDIC field VBAK-ERDAT (type DATS) is stored in BRF as TIMEPOINT, which is itself a structure (type FDT_S_TIMEPOINT). Trying to move the date value to the timepoint value is not possible and results in the dump.
How do I get around this ? Or in practice is it not feasible to use DDIC structures containing dates, times and possibly numbers as function parameters ??

Therefore you best create an internal structure reusing the types in IF_FDT_TYPES. Then you copy the data into the BRFplus internal format and then you process the function.
Is there a method to do this, or do I have to develop my own using RTTI / RTTC ?

Lcr.set_values('NEW',lcr.get_values('NEW')) behaviour during Update

I have a table t1 :
Column A : Primary Key
Column B
Column C
On the Source database i launched :
Update t1 set c=1 where a=3;
On the Target Database i received this LCR :
OLD column A : 3
OLD Column C : 2
NEW Column C : 1
=> No new column for A (This is normal).
I would like to insert a record containing OLD_A and NEW_C into the target database.
More generally, In fact i would like to insert ALL NEW values as well as OLD values for all NEW empty values.
I tried this :
lcr.set_values('NEW',lcr.get_values('NEW')); and i get exactly what I want !
So it looks like
that lcr.set_values('NEW',lcr.get_values('NEW')) populates the NEW values based on the OLD values and replaces OLD values with NEW VALUES that are non empty.
In this way you'll get the same updated record as the one on the Source database.
Question :
Can i rely on lcr.set_values('NEW',lcr.get_values('NEW')), is it normal it works in this way and produced (OLD_A,NEW_C) record ?
Or should i write my own procedure to do the job ? (Creates the (OLD_A,NEW_C) record)

The type of values to return. Specify old to return a list of old values. Specify new to return a list of new values.
use_old
If Y and value_type is new, then the function returns a list of all new values in the LCR. If a new value does not exist in the list, then the function returns the corresponding old value. Therefore, the returned list contains all existing new values and old values for the new values that do not exist.
If N and value_type is new, then the function returns a list of all new values in the LCR without returning any old values.
If value_type is old or if the command_type of the row LCR is not UPDATE, then the function ignores the value of the use_old parameter.
NULL is not a valid specification for the use_old parameter.

Anyway...yes there are some choices for the basic users but read the reviews for them. They all show as terrible. Slow interfaces, buggy programming so more or less unreliable. I had a LG Cosmos Touch. The phone never stayed locked and I pocket dialed people all of the time. The interface was buggy and since they are a resistive touchscreen it frequently misplaced my touch. There are currently no phones in the lineup that I would upgrade for so hopefully I can just keep my current phone going.
I actually use a Samsung Alias 2 and would love to upgrade to a Zeal or whatever the Alias 3 was called but that phone is no longer available. Go figure...Samsung was making a GREAT phone and they stop production for some more crappy basic phones. But in the nature of things they are probably making much more money on a smartphone compared to the basic phones so I can't really blame them.
I know exactly where the market is headed and before too long I'll be required to buy an expensive smartphone and a miserable data plan. 1GB of data to share with your entire family? Yeah have fun paying that base bill + overages.

Where do I find documentation for p_session functions like "set_value", "get_value_as_number", etc.? I would like to change the location for an image dynamically using "p_session.set_value" or something like it.

There is no change to this problem after 6 months since the last post. Put simply, and as stated in the previous posts, there is no way to scan a document and receive the image on your PC. If you are working with graphics for any length of time or want to create an image for inclusion as an image in a document or web page using this piece of equipment will not allow you to do so.
Great shame as every other function works well - it cannot be beyond the wit of HP to include a Windows application that enables you to scan an image, receive it in the software you are using at the time (e.g. Outlook, Word, Photoshop...) and use it in your work.
HP Printers several years older than this £1000+ Enterprise printer were able to do this simple job and have done so for a great many years. Just being able to use Microsoft's Fax and Scan would be start.

When we use IF in calculation view with CE function the SQL engine is used.
When we remove the "IF" the CE engine is used.
Is there any alternative for if or case in CE functions?

IPhone 5s Voice memo to mp3. Now music on iPhone. Won't play from search function.

I record my band rehearsals using the voice memo on my iPhone 5s. Then I sync to iTunes and convert file to mp3. When i sync back to my iPhone it appears in my music. So far, so good. When I use the search function in music it finds the file but won't play from tapping. I must troll through all my music songs (currently 2227 of them) to find it and then play it. Is it something to do with it still being under the genre "voice memos" or what ? Anybody help please. Thanks

HP AiO Remote app will not recognize scan and copy function of HP Envy 120

Good morning! HP AiO Remote App is installed on my iPad4 and in the same WiFi network with my HP Envy 120 printer. The printer is recognized by the app and marked with a green led. When I tap on scan or copy in the app menu, it tells me that these functions were available in the app only for printers which provide these features. But HP Envy 120 has both scanner and copier. And last time it worked. Some idea what could have happened here? Thanks. UJ
