How to set a single tab in JTabbedPane invisible

I want to set only a single tab invisible out of 9 tabs in JTabbedPane. I can disable the tab but not able to set invisible.

you may use JTabbedPane.removeTabAt(int) method as long as you don't want the tab to appear & when needed use JTabbedPane.insertTabAt(String, Icon, Component, String, int) method.
as far as i know this is only way to achieve our want. this should help you.

Each tab of JTabbedPane has different border color

Is it possible for the content area of each tab in JTabbedPane to have a different border color? Selecting Tab1 highlights content area of the tabbed pane in yellow, selecting tab2 highlights it in red, etc...

Thanks for the quick response splungebob. How would I get a reference to the Jpanel of a specific tab? In my case each tab will have a toolbar, so I tried setting the toolbar border yellow, but I still have the default jtabbedpane border color surrounding my yellow bordered toolbar. I would prefer to set the color on the jtabbedpane, so that way the Tab itself does not also have the border going underneath it. For instance, I don't want the border to continue underneath the "my tab" tab, as illustrated below:

Tabs: previous versions allowed for saving all tabs in a bookmark folder. The new tab groups do not behave this way. How can I save permanent set of tabs as a group that is available later, like the folder of bookmars was?

tabs: previous versions of firefox allowed for saving all tabs with a group name, so you could open them all again later at your convenience. The new firefox 4.0.1 has a new tab feature, but the tab groups do not seem to persist once you shut down, and are not saved as a folder in your bookmarks. What am I missing? How can I do what I want (save permanent set of tabs as a group that is available later, like the folder of bookmarks was)? Thanks

Right click one of the tabs, the "Bookmark all tabs..." option.

Maybe Flex SDK bug: Setting visible of DataGrid item renderers

Hi all, I'm still a noob at flex but this looks a bit strange to me.
I've been trying to hide a button renderer in a DataGrid but it just wouldn't hide. I've been setting visible inside the mxml and also in the the class that extends buttonbut it just wouldn't hide. I then overloaded the visible property set/get and traced what was setting the property to true and found that inside DataGridBase.as the function setupColumnItemRenderer always sets visible of the renderes to true.

Why does it do this? Shouldn't it respect the visible property already set for the renderer in mxml and not force it to true on init?

Renderers use the visible property for recycling. Invisible renderers are not supported. The hit detection logic would find it the cell it belongs to even if it was invisible. You can set alpha=0, but it won't stop the hit detection logic.
Why are you trying to hide a renderer?

Unable to set the tab order in a form I am creating

Hello,
I have a form that I created a bunch of fields for. I did make some of the fields out of order, but was not concerned as I figured I would set the tab order as I have in the past.
However, for this set of fields, not mater what I do, and how many times I try to set the tab order manually, it skips over a bunch of fields. Even if I try to let acrobat automatically set the tab order, it still doesn't work.
These fields have been made from scratch as well as, copy and pasted to make sure their properties were all the same, other than a unique name. I can't figure this one out.
Has anyone ever had this happen to them before?

Hi everyone...thanks!!
I did check the read only issue first, and that wasn't it... and I made sure they were just text fields and never started out as radio buttons...
At one poin,t a bad param error popped up..... ah ha!!
So, I exported the file back to postscript (deleting all the fields first)
and then made new ones and it worked fine...
Must have been a corrupted file ;-)

Feature suggestion --Is there ability to "Save Set" of tabs or windows?

I'm posting this here in case it is Safari functionality that already exists. Otherwise I hope Apple considers adding this very useful feature to Safari in the future. Perhaps other browsers offer this feature...
When I research a topic, I often open many windows. For example, if I am researching a topic for a paper on Akira Kurosawa or I am comparing reviews of digital cameras and open various pages with reviews and data. Over several days or weeks, I may wish to return to these pages, and it seems to do this I must always "open all windows from last session" every time I start Safari (or leave it running). As I am unaware of another solution, I have to do this often, and it is a pain and leaves always the possibility I will lose a "set" if I forget to go through this process each time I launch Safari.
It would seem to be to be easy and sensible functionality for the user to be able to save a window (with all its tabs) or even the entire set of open windows, using a name of the user's choosing, to come back to later. Thus I might open ten tabs on cameras, then save the entire set as "camera reviews" and access it later; clicking it would open all the tabs. Another file I might save is "Kurosawa" and this might open a Safari window with another set of tabs on the movie director.
Any thoughts on this? I would use it all the time if it was available!

I'm not sure if this is implemented in your version of Safari, but see if there is an option in the Bookmarks menu to save an existing set of open tabs in a window. It is implemented in Safari 5, and it may be implemented in Safari 4.
You may also check out Glims as well as other third-party utilities that most likely provide a similar feature.

There use to be an option to set new tabs to blank.
How do I do that now that you removed the option.
I tried the obvious (?) of setting the new tab to "about:blank" and it still comes up with what ever search engine is paying you money.
I even tried an add on to set it to blank. That didn't work either.

Firefox always Opens a New Tab in a Blank page. You must have some add-on installed that's making the new tab to not open as Blank.

I need to know how to set new tabs to open on my Google homepage instead of opening a blank tab.

I had this feature set before when I was using Firefox 3.6. Now I have FF4 and I can't find an option anywhere to set my tabs so that a new tab opens on Google instead of opening a blank page. I may just be overlooking it, but I can't fin an answer to this through search feature in help on Mozilla. Anyone got an answer for me?

Restoring af:selectBooleanCheckbox value after setting visible=true

Using JDev 11.1; I have a table that displays data from a model object, and one of the columns contains true/false values which we render in the table using an af:selectBooleanCheckbox. All works fine except that user is able to hide the table by expanding other components which sets visible=false on the bounding component for the table. If user elects to redisplay the table by reducing the other component zoom, then the table displays again but the selected check-marks/tags do not return.
Thought initially it might've been because the query was being reissued on the table, but not so. More about the selected attribute on the af:selectBooleanCheckbox, which I have set to the default (false). So the value property is set to the table collection attribute as required to interface with the model, but I need to know what to set the selected attribute to. I can see that when the table is redisplayed, this default value of false is being sent through to the model which is discarding the values I want to retain.
I've tried some EL in the selected property to set it to true/false based on what's in the table, but the problem with that is that it becomes essentially a read-only control. I need to find some way to disable the value assignment when making the table visible again. Any suggestions?

In ADF BC, one way we deal with this is by adding a transient Boolean attribute to the View Object with getters (translate 0/1 to false/true) and setters (vice-versa). Then, we bind the UI to the transient attribute. It's been so long since I've done EJB's, but could you take a similar approach?

Changing Colors of selected tab in JTabbedPane.

change the color of the selected tab with JTabbedPane.
I can change the other tabs colors with setBackground and setForeground, setBackgroundAt........ but it is the selected
tab that will not change from the default grey color.

Setting current tab

I have a page which holds functionality for two different tabs. The current tab is defined by a combination of page id and the value of an application level item.
How can I programmatically set the current tab via an onload after header process? Do I set wwv_flow.g_current_tab or wwv_flow.g_step_tab_set?

you could do the following:
use the array g_tab_name to retrieve the order in which the tab parameters are stored in the array variables.
ie
for i in 1..g_tab_name.count loop

then you could on the fly set the tab current for pages value for the required tab depending on your application level item:
in an application level on load before header process do:
if app_item = 'X' then
wwv_flow.g_tab_also_current_for_pages(1) := :APP_PAGE_ID;
elsif app_item = 'Y' then
wwv_flow.g_tab_also_current_for_pages(2) := :APP_PAGE_ID;
end if;
(Set the condition on this process to only fire for pages which can be current for multiple tabs)
You will need to ensure that the tabs exist on every page you wish them to appear (other wise the process will fail). This can be done by setting the 'also current for pages' option for every page in the tab and then saving. The tabset will now appear on every page...
You now delete the page numbers (from the 'also current for pages' option) which can be current for more than one tab and save the tab again. The pages current for multiple tabs will now have the tabset appear in the page definition but will not be current for any tab. The required tab will now be set to be current at runtime for these pages by the above process.
