Setting chart colors in palette.cxml

I've modified the chart colors in two palette.xml files:
/OracleBI/web/app/res/s_PeerApp/chartsupport
/home/padmin/OracleBI/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/analytics/analytics/res/s_PeerApp/chartsupport
Not working well at all – for both new and old charts, for any type (bars, line, pie) – sometimes display the new colors and sometimes the old ones. When I see the new colors and refresh the page, it sometimes return to defaults.
Any ideas?

In keynote you have a slide with a chart in it. I will use a bar chart for this example. Now that you have the slide with the chart you want to edit the colors of open, click on the "Colors" button at the top right of the Keynote window. Click on the wheel Until the box above the wheel displays the color you desire. Once you have that color chosen, click in that color box and drag it to the bar you want to have that color in your chart. Tada! You have now changed the color. I am on my iPhone or would have done some screen shots for you.
Enjoy!

  • Default Chart Color Set in Keynote '08

    Hi!
    I have several charts on successive slides. I'd like to keep the colors used for some data consistent across all charts in which they appear. I can't seem to locate the default color samples and I'm pretty sure I've been through all the 3D and 2D samples.
    How do I find the default colors used in bar charts?
    Thanks!

    Instead of going to the graphic section, go to the Chart Section (8th from the left) and then in the top right hand side click Chart Colors. From the box that pops up, select the color and drag over the section of the graph you want that color.

  • Labels pointing to pie slices with lines (or how 2 set chart properties in code behind)

    I want to be able to create lines outside of my pie chart with labels and have those lines drawn to connect to the pie chart.  I saw that this can be done in code behind in the following thread:
    MSDN thread on lines to pie slices
    But my problem is I never declared an instance of my chart when I am using my code behind.  My code that makes the reports visible is basically (but not completely) the following:
    ReportDataSet.Tables.Add(ReportDataTable)
    ReportViewer.Visible = True
    Dim ReportDataSource As ReportDataSource = New ReportDataSource("ReportDataSource", ReportDataSet.Tables(0))
    ReportViewer.LocalReport.ReportPath = ReportToDisplay.RDLCFileName
    ReportViewer.LocalReport.DataSources.Clear()
    ReportViewer.LocalReport.DataSources.Add(ReportDataSource)
    ReportDataSource.Name = ReportToDisplay.DataSetName
    ReportViewer.DataBind()
    ReportViewer.LocalReport.Refresh()
    ReportViewer.ShowReportBody = True
    ReportViewer.Width = RVWidth
    ReportViewer.Height = RVHeight
    So how do I set chart properties for my report given the above code?  As long as I can set my chart properties with the above code, I should be able to get this to work given the above thread and the link to the Label-Outside-of-Pie and Line-Color properties
    (or whatever) info on Microsoft's info page

    Hello,
    Based on your description, you want to design a
    pie chart with outside lables and pie line inside a .rdlc report. If so, you can add the Chart report item into the report after open a client report definition (.rdlc) file in graphical design mode. And then Set the
    PieLabelStyle property and PieLineColor property. Please refer to the following screen shot:
    The link your post above it about the
    Chart Web server control. As pre my undersntand, you cannot reference a Web server control inside .rdlc file.
    If you have any question about using Chart Web server control, you can post a question on
    Chart Controls for .NET Framework forum.

  • Crystal Reports - Change Line Chart Color Dynamically

    Hello,
    I have Crystal report 14.
    I'm trying to create a line chart and need to be able to set the colors of the lines at the time the report is run.   The colors the lines need to be are specified in a database and a different color could be specified each time the report is run.
    Can anybody suggest how I would do this?
    Thanks
    Edited by: Robert4543 on Nov 16, 2011 5:23 PM

    I've tried to use 'Color Highlight'  to change the color of the lines, but it only changed the colors of the markers on the line, not the actual line itself.  Is there a way to get it to change the color of the line?
    I may have one line I need to display as 1 color, and a 2nd that I need to display as another.  Using color highlight changed the markers for both lines to the same color.  Is there a way to specify which line I want to change the color of in "Color Highlight"?
    Thanks.

    Hello all,
    I use Crystal Reports XI. I have report with chart. Chart type is Bar.  With Chart expert i defined colors for each type of data in the chart. When i preview my report chart colors looks fine. But if i use created rpt file in web application and generate html report chart uses different colors. What a problem?

    HiI am having a very similar problem...I have a pie chart that is displaying 8 values for scores that make up the total score. If I preview the chart in Crystal XI, I get the correct colours for each slice of the pie, but when I save the rpt and run it from my VS2005 App, the first 4 colours on the pie revert back to the default 4 colours and the last 4 colours stay the same as what I set using the "Color Highlight" tab in the design env.Can anyone please help?

  • Can I access Flex's default Chart colors? Or can I access a Series' current color?

    I've created a popup to dynamically add/remove Series from a LineChart and/or AreaChart.  Problem is, I want to keep the Series' line color consistent, and Flex wants to re-assign them from it's default list, which is confusing.
    I don't want to just set the Series.visible to false for two reasons:
    1. I also want the LegendItem to disappear from the Legend
    2. Stacked AreaCharts (type == 'stacked') get messed up when you set one of its Series.visible = false
    So to avoid color reassignment, I want to explicitly set the lineStroke for my Series.  But if I'm using Flex's default colors, I need to either:
    a. Have access to the static default color array - does anyone know where this is???  or
    b. After the Series are drawn (updateComplete?), I need to query each for its lineStroke color and then explicitly set it to that same color.  How do I do this???  getStyle('lineStroke') returns null, and I can't see a way to get at the renderer.
    I'm essentially re-posting the following unanswered posts, which I promise to link back to this if someone can please help:
    Binding to Rendered Chart Data [http://forums.adobe.com/message/186840#186840]
    Getting the default pie chart colors [http://forums.adobe.com/message/36410#36410]
    Please help!

    Matt, thanks for your reply, but unfortunately, for LineCharts, LineSeries.getStyle('fill') always returns 0xffffff (white).
    I finally found that after my LineChart is completely rendered, (sometime after LineSeries' updateComplete), LineSeries.getStyle('lineStroke') and getStyle('stroke') both return the correct Stroke.color values ("lineStroke" refers to the line segment and "stroke" to the data point).
    Rather than fooling around with collecting the actual values dynamically, I just generated some trace() output from a  LineChart with a bunch of Series to create my own static Array from which I can initialize my Series.setStyle(color) as I dynamically add them to my LineChart:
            public static const DEFAULT_FLEX_SERIES_COLORS:Array = [
                0xe48701, 0xa5bc4e, 0x1b95d9, 0xcaca9e,
                0x6693b0, 0xf05e27, 0x86d1e4, 0xe4f9a0,
                0xffd512, 0x75b000, 0x0662b0, 0xede8c6,
                0xcc3300, 0xd1dfe7, 0x52d4ca, 0xc5e05d,
                0xe7c174, 0xfff797, 0xc5f68f, 0xbdf1e6,
                0x9e987d, 0xeb988d, 0x91c9e5, 0x93dc4a,
                0xffb900, 0x9ebbcd, 0x009797, 0x0db2c2
    It turns out there's only 28 unique color values before the color pattern repeats.  I don't see a numerical pattern; perhaps someone with more time on their hands can figure out if there's a function behind this series of values (printed here in binary, decimal, and hex):

  • Customizing the chart color in BO Explorer

    Hi Experts,
    Is it possible for us to choose the color of the measure by ourselves in BO Explorer
    For exmple, when you choose mutli-measure, system will show different color
    It depends on the sequence of the measure which does not meet our requirement
    Could we choose the color we need?
    BTW, for pie chart, is it possible for us to set the color for each part by ourselves as well?
    Best regards
    Alex yang

    Hi Alex,
    Greetings,
    Explorer does not allow the interactive color change functionality.
    We could make certain changes in the explorer configuration file, available in the explorer installation directory, but those color changes, are permanent and would reflect the same across all the charts in all the information spaces.

  • Setting series color in the Business Graphics UI element

    Hi all,
    I'm using the Business Graphics UI element in my Web Dynpro application.
    I set the color for various properties using chart designer, then I add the generated XML in the doModifyView method: bg.setDirectCustomizing(xml file) and most of it works.
    However, when I change the series' color, I don't see any change in the xml file (see snapshot).
    http://img90.imageshack.us/my.php?image=graphjy1.jpg
    My xml starts with <SAPChartCustomizing> and ends with </SAPChartCustomizing>.
    How can I set the series' color using the custom xml file?
    Thanks,
    Omri

    Hi,
    as the connection between your data and the customizing settings works via IDs you have to make sure that you set exactly the same ID for a data series as defined in the chart designer.
    In case that you use point customizing make sure that you do not set an ID for the points of your series. Instead set the series customizing ID for the series only! Keep in mind that point customizing always overwrites series customizing if both are defined.

  • Report Generation broken after deployment - Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi

    Upon deployment, the Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi became broken.  After installing LV2010 SP1 to view the VIs in the deployment, I noticed that in the second case structure where the code draws the border using the BorderAround invoke node, there is an extra variant input parameter named 'Parameters'.  Upon right-clicking, an option to 'Relink Invoke Node' appeared and after selecting this, the extra input disappeared and the VI was no longer broken.
    Why does "Relink Invoke Node" appear?  How do I create a deployment with this issue?  Has anybody else experienced this?  Why is the TestStand deployment so buggy?

    Hi Ching-Hwa,
    I have set up a test deployment here where I am deploying a workspace that contains a sequence file.  This sequence file has a LabVIEW Action Step calling a VI that opens a new Excel file and simply calls the Excel Set Cell Color and Border VI.  After deploying this, both the VI and my test sequence ran on the deployment machine without error.  Therefore, I do have some more questions to more accurately reproduce what you are seeing.
    First, what operating systems are you developing on and deploying to?  Also, what license do you have for TestStand on the machine you are deploying to?  If you have a development version, can you manually take the sequence file and VI to this machine and run it?  I know you now have LabVIEW 2010 SP1 on your development machine, but if you have the development version of TestStand as well, it would be interesting to see if you copy the files over if you still see this behavior.  Are you including the TestStand Engine in the deployment?
    Can you open a blank VI on the deployment machine and add the Excel Set Cell Color and Border VI?  It would also be interesting to see if this is not a product of the deployment, but rather an issue with something on the deployment machine itself.  What version of the Report Generation Toolkit do you have on each machine?  Also, what versions of Excel are you using on the development and deployment machine?  Again, it would be helpful for me to know exactly what versions you have installed on both the development and deployment machines so that I can reproduce this as accurately as possible.
    One last thing to try, too, would be to try deploying the VI by itself just to see if it also has the same behavior.  Do you have the Application Builder in LabVIEW?  If so, could you also try building an executable from the VI, create an installer, and deploy this to the deployment machine?
    In regards to the "freezing" of code by removing the block diagrams, I do not believe this will be a proper work around in this case.  While this removes the block diagram from actually being deployed along with the VI and restricts users from editing the code on the deployment machine, if something is getting changed in the compiled code upon deployment, this will not stop this from happening.  This option is available more as a memory option to lower the size of the deployment as well as prohibit any users on the development machine from editing the block diagram themselves.
    Thanks, Ching-Hwa!  I look forward to your response so that I can continue trying to reproduce this issue.  Have a great day!

  • I would like to change the colour of bars in a chart without losing the underlying default texture associated with my chosen theme. None of the 3D textured fills offered in "Chart Colors" match the textured fill of the theme. Any suggestions?

    I would like to change the colour of bars in a chart without losing the underlying default texture associated with my chosen theme. None of the 3D textured fills offered in "Chart Colors" match the textured fill of the theme. Any suggestions?

    Thanks Gary, but no, that does not work. First of all, I can't select each bar individually. When I click on one bar, all three bars are selected.
    When I use "inspector > graphic" I have 5 fill options: none, color, gradient, image, tinted image. The default selection for the theme I'm using is image. What I would like to use for my charts is the same image that this theme uses for table headers. It has the same texture as the chart, but a different colour. Using anything but image or tinted image removes the texture from the fill.
    I have found I can do one of two things. I can select tinted image from the fill selections in "inspector > graphic" or I can select 2D Image Fills from "inspector > chart > chart colors". The first choice does not allow me to match the table header colour because it only allows me to apply a tint to the existing colour and adjust its opacity. The existing colour has too much influence on the fill, so I can't find an RGB adjustment that will match the table header colour. The image selections from "inspector > chart > chart colors" do not quite match the colour or the texture. Again, I can try to tint the image, but I still can't get it to match and the texture is not the same anyway.
    The image I want to use obviously exists in the software as it is an attribute of the theme, but for some reason is inaccessible. The other angle I have tried is to edit the theme, but I can't figure out how to do that either.
