Hi Valerie,
Thanks for the reply.  Yes I have checked that the SPN is unique and it is set to the FQDN of the ABAP server.  We only have 1 domain at the client and not multiple domains. In SPNEGO the keytab is configured for the domain with the service user and SPNEGO also picks up the SPNs correctly and the SPN uniqueness check and Token check in SPNEGO also works.
I also checked the klist output and it has a whole list of Kerberos ticket outputs for various encryption types for my user including for e.g. AES-256-CTS-HMAC-SHA1-96 which is one of the algorithms in SPNEGO.
So I don't know what else to check...

  • An issue using the COM components supplied with SAP GUI 6.2 or 6.4

    We are having an issue using the COM components supplied with SAP GUI 6.2 or 6.4.  We used to have SAP 4.6c and now we have 5.0.  When we were on 4.6c, we used these COM components to logon and execute RFC calls and we had much success.  Now that we are on 5.0, we can’t seem to instance any SAP functions that have something to do with SAP Workflow.  We have experienced this problem when using VB6 or .NET, but our existing code that always worked is in VB 6.0.
    SAP Components used:
    o     SAP Logon Control
    o     SAP Function Control
    o     Librfc32.dll
    o     Other supporting C DLLs and/or COM object supplied with the SAP GUI installation.
    For example, if we want to call the RFC ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT, this code fails in VB6 when the “Set objworkflow = objFuncCtrl.Add(strFunction)” line of code executes.  Instead of returning an instance of the object ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT function, no object is created.  In 6.2, SAP raises no errors, but the object we are trying to create is still “Nothing”.  If we use 6.4, SAP raises an error “SAP data type not supported” via a message box and then the object is still = Nothing.  Interestingly enough, the 6.2 GUI COM controls don’t display the error dialog.  The message box that is shown comes from the SAP Function COM Object "SAP.Functions" (wdtfuncs.ocx).
    Now, what is interesting is if we use the same code to call a standard function or custom function that doesn’t have anything to do with SAP Workflow, then the code works fine.  Again, all of our code used to work just fine on an SAP 4.6 system.
    Here is the code that fails:
        'SAP Logon control - object for creating connections to an SAP system
        Dim objSAPLogonCtrl As Object
        'SAP connection object
        Dim objConnection As Object
        'Object that will represent the SAP function called
        Dim objSAP As Object
        'SAP function control object - object factory for creating other SAP function objects
        Dim objFuncCtrl As Object
        'Create instance of an SAP logon conrol
        Set objSAPLogonCtrl = CreateObject("SAP.Logoncontrol.1")
        'Create a connection object
        Set objConnection = objSAPLogonCtrl.NewConnection
        'Define connecion parameters
        objConnection.ApplicationServer = "sapvm"
        objConnection.SystemNumber = "00"
        objConnection.Client = "800"
        objConnection.User = "iissap"
        objConnection.Password = "tstadm"
        objConnection.Language = "E"
        objConnection.TraceLevel = 10
        'call the logon method of the connection object
        If objConnection.Logon(0, True) = False Then
            MsgBox Error
            Exit Sub
        End If
        'Create an instance of the SAP Function control object
        Set objFuncCtrl = CreateObject("SAP.Functions")
        'Set the function control connection object
        Set objFuncCtrl.Connection = objConnection
        'Function name to be generated and called
        Dim strFunction As String
        strFunction = <b>"ARCHIV_PROCESS_RFCINPUT"</b>
        'Create an instance of the function defined in strFunction
        Set objworkflow = objFuncCtrl.Add(strFunction)
        If objworkflow Is Nothing Then
            MsgBox "Could not create object " & strFunction
        Else
            MsgBox strFunction & " object created."
        End If
    If anyone has seen anything like this or has any ideas, please help!

  • Setting the value of an Application Item (setting a global variable);

    In APEX 3.2.0.00.27, I need to initialize a global variable to 0 to implement a variable for testing to see if anything on the page has changed. Will update to 1 when certain select lists on the page are changed. Have read through some similar questions and replies within the forum as well as other blogs and sites. So, I believe what I am doing is the way to go about this. Unfortunately, my initialization of an application item/global isn't happening yet. here's a rundown of what has been implemented:
    1) created an application item, G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW in the shared components;
    2) created Javascript (JS) function called by addLoadEvent in the page html header region so when the page loads, the G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW global/application item should get set to 0 with the following JS and using AJAX and htmldb_GET:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function initVars()
    alert("before get initvars");
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,null,22);
    get.add('G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW', 0);
    gReturn = get.get();
    if(gReturn){
    alert(gReturn.value);
    get = null;
    alert("after get initvars");
    alert("before call to initpage");
    addLoadEvent(initVars());
    </script>
    I've used the htmldb_Get with success for populating other global variables and running On Demand Processes with onchange JS calls in the html form element attributes within select lists on the page. Afterwards, I can check the globals via the Session window and searching on Application Items. Unfortunately, I'm missing something because my G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW never gets populated when I load the page. The alerts all popup when the page is loaded, so I know the script is being executed when the page loads. the alert(gReturn.value) comes back undefined. And, needless to say, the G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW to 0 is not occurring.
    I've tried the htmldb_Get with it calling an application process and without (set to null). From what I've read, you shouldn't need to call an on demand process to have the get.add set the global variable. Then again, this could be where I'm going wrong. however, as I've mentioned, this works for other functions called from an onchange to populate an application item, but the page has already loaded when the onchange(s) get executed. They may work because the page is already loaded when the onchange is called. My point here is that my other On demand processes are NOT setting or changing the global variables at all. The globals are getting set with the get.add(<app item>, <value>) portion of my other JS functions within the HTML Header region. So, I'm inclined to believe that I don't need the 'application_process=<some_odp>' parameter set, but if that's not true, please let me know. if so, what would need to be in the on demand process--ie, what would be the purpose of the get.add(<application item>, <value>) if I set the global variable in the on demand process because that's the only thing I could think of doing within an on demand process for this?
    If somebody can point out what I'm not understanding or failing to do here, that would be great. I'm doing fine with APEX, but wouldn't consider myself a guru with it just yet. I'm definitely not a JS/AJAX guru, and when things like this go astray, I get bogged down because I'm not sure of the problem. So, I'm hoping you gurus who monitor this forum can get me going in the right direction.
    thanks,
    bob

    Hi Jari,
    Does that javascript work if you place it some of region footer on page 22 ?Yes. I cut it out of the html header of the page, and put it in the footer of the first region on the page. It initializes the variable. Putting it into the footer of the first region on the page should work for me instead of having an extra region on the page that's being picked up from page 0.
    Is your page 22 authentication public ?No. This particular page is set for an ADMINISTRATOR only. That said, I am logged in as an administrator. So, I cannot see why setting authentication should make a difference as long as I have that authentication/authorization. Also, there will be other pages where I want to use this script or a similar script, but again, those pages will not be open to the public. the authentication will be "role" based where a user will not necessarily have to be an administrator, but they will have to have a certain role to access the page. Is there a known problem or something that precludes a html header JS script from doing an addloadevent when authentication is NOT public?
    thank you,
    bob

  • How can I set the timezone in my application?

    I inherited a website in which the DateFormat() function is littered throughout, and plays an integral role in ensuring the application runs correctly. For instance, we have a calendar system in which employees can book lessons on certain days and at certain times. The Date and Time functions are key to this application's success.
    But we moved the website from one server to a newer, shared, one a few months back running CF10 on Windows Server 2008. (I believe the old one was running CF8 on a Windows 2000 server or something.) But what appears to be happening is that other users on this new shared box are changing the date/time based on their needs and at different times, and it is affecting our applications. I called the support staff of the hosting company who told me I had to specify the date and time via Java in my application file and that should solve the problem.
    The issue is that I really have no idea how to do this. My programming with Java is virtually null, and even my familiarity with ColdFusion is waning, as I have not seriously used it in about 9 years. I see there are a number of tutorials and demonstrations on the web for accessing date and time via Java in ColdFusion, but I don't know how to set the application to a specified timezone, (which is what I think I have to do), so that when the DateFormat() object is called, it calls the correct date. Otherwise, when employees go to book lessons, the dates are off. Their calendar will show that April might begin on a Tuesday instead of a Monday. At other times we've noticed the hour is off by a considerable amount - 4 or 5 hours, when the server itself is in a timezone only 1 hour behind us.
    Any idea how to pull something like this off?
    I figure even if I can specify the timezone in the application files I may have to overwrite every instance of DateFormat() to something customized, but I'm hoping I don't have to go that far.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Question: Do you think the response from the support staff is correct? I mean, surely, I can't be the only CF user on a shared box whose other users need to modify the date and time within their applications. Even if they do it at the application level for their domain, surely it wouldn't affect mine, would it? That was what was implied by the support people, but I have a feeling they are way off, or covering for some goof-up on their end. I struggled like hell yesterday trying to get this to work and I did not get very far at all.
    I found an interesting tutorial here which does a comparison of time zones and, theoretically, this might do the trick. But if what the guy told me was nonsense then I won't bother with it. For the record, our calendar has been working fine for about a week now.

  • Need help with setting the entry point for application

    Hi there,
    I am kinda new to creating JAR files for application. I checked out the tutorials for creating the jar files, and I understood most of the concepts. There is one part in the tutorial which I still don't understand
    it says:
    We want to execute the main method in the class MyClass in the package MyPackage when we run the JAR file.
    We first create a text file named Manifest.txt with the following contents:
    Main-Class: MyPackage.MyClass
    I am not exactly sure what the package is. Is it the name of the jar file, which I wish to create? Your detailed explanation would certainly be helpful. Thank you in advance.

  • How to set the contentType for JSF Content Portlet.

    Hi,
    When I tried to get the data from data base and construct a downloadable .csv appending the html at the end of the actual csv content. Please find the below given code for reference.
    JSP Code :
    <f:view>
    <h:form id = "test">
              <h:commandButton immediate="true" value = "Download CSV" actionListener="#{myManagedBean.downloadCSV}">
              </h:commandButton>
    </h:form>
    </f:view>
    Managed Bean method (Listener Method):
         public void downloadCSV(ActionEvent event) {
              FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().responseComplete();
              OutputStream os = null;
              try {
                   HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse) FacesContext
                             .getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getResponse();
                   response.setHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment;filename=report.csv");
                   response.setContentType("application/download");
                   os = response.getOutputStream();
                   StringBuffer buffer = new StringBuffer();
                   //following code has to be replaced by records retrieved from database.
                   for (int i = 0; i < 1000; i++) {
                        for (int j = 0; j < 100; j++) {
                             if (j == 0) {
                                  buffer.append("Test " + j);
                             } else {
                                  buffer.append(",").append("Test " + j);
                        buffer.append("\n");
                   System.out.println("Get Content Type :==>"+response.getContentType()); // always returning text/html;
                   os.write(buffer.toString().getBytes());
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } finally {

                        } catch (IOException e) {
                             // TODO Auto-generated catch block
                             e.printStackTrace();
    The above given code is appending the html content at the end of the actual content. I noticed one thing, even though I am setting the content type to application/download (or) text/csv when i am printing the content type it is always returning "text/html".
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    The portal will not allow you to change the content-type of a single portlet's response. Since each portlet is rendered onto a single HTML page along with other portlets, the content-type of the whole page (and therefore of each portlet) must be HTML-- you can't have a different content-type for just a portion of the page.
    This means that you cannot render non-HTML content for a portlet within the portal framework. However, you can render non-HTML content as a separate "resource" outside of the portal context- for example, if you create a resource URL in your portlet that points at a servlet, the servlet can serve up any content-type you wish.
    The JSR329 JSF portlet bridge (and the JSR286 portlet specification it is based on) even have a special "portlet-served resource" mechanism that allows you to serve non-HTML content while still having access to all of the portal context (all of your portlet state). From the code you posted, it looks like you are not using the JSR329 portlet bridge, but you might want to take a look at it.

  • Error while accessing application with the custom components

    Hi experts,
    I have an application (HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT) of component FPM_OIF_COMPONENT which uses a Webdynpro component with the same name (HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT). This Webdynpro component (HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT) uses 2 other components (HAP_DOCUMENT_BODY and HAP_DOCUMENT_HEADER). For my client requirement, i need to create the custom components by copying from standard components as the UI layout changes are quiet huge and not manageable with the enhancements. To accomodate this i have changed the standard configurations by replacing the standard web dynpro components with the custom ones copied. Apart fomr this there are no changes to the standard.

  • How to set printersettings for the crystal report viewer in SAP BI dynamically

    Hello
    I have set the URL method for my crystal report and with parameter passing as shown below, it was displaying the crystal report viewer by connecting to the SAP BI 4.0 server with this method.
    http://cr:port/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=CRLabelParam&sType=rpt&lsSnPrinted=0&lsSsTestProjectNr=1
    This URL will be called from Web application by different users, i would like to set the printer settings differently for different users for this crystal report viewer how shall i need to set the printer options?
    shall i need to set the printer settings programatically for each user. Please advise me how do i need to proceed.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajeswari.

    There are no BI / CR APIs that would do this for you. The way I see it, you'll have to have your own print button and populate it with the correct printer information for each user as they request the report. Of course, alternatively, use the viewer printer button and get the users to choose the correct printer.

  • Can we Set the Default SAP Component while Creating Support Message

    Hi Friends,
        I Have got requirement like, when we create the support desk message from any application system by default the sap component should get selected which we have determined in Solman.Our Business secnario is too complex user give create the support message without giving the Sap Component or they give wrong sap Component, so we want to set the sap component get selected by default while creating the support desk message, guide me in solving this issue.
      Regards
        Charan

    I think your logic is reversed.  I think it's better to let users create messages from the application areas from which they are having the problem.  Based on the standard SAP component which defaults into the component field, the ticket can be routed to one of your 20 teams.  This is where the agent detemination rule for support team can be configured.  There are a number of message on the forum regarding support team configuration.  This way, if your 20 teams can't solve the problem (for example SAP defect) then the message can be forwarded directly to SAP using the correct component.  Good luck.

  • Save Dialog in Office Application does not set the Content Type to the one selected on Document Creation.

    We have a Library that supports 4 Content Types  ("Content Type 1","Content Type 2","Content Type 3","Content Type 4")
    The user clicks new and selects "Content Type 3"
    Word is started
    The user edits the document
    Clicks Save
    "Choose Content Type" dialog is shown set to the Content Type "Content Type 1" because the Document content type is ordered as First (which also means Default)
    What is expected is the "Choose Content Type" dialog to show "Content Type 3" as selected
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    According to your description, there is a library with four content types, you create a document with one of the content types, click save button in Office application,
    then a “Choose Content Type” dialog will show up for selecting a content type.
    I tried to reproduce as below:
    1. Create a library with four content types;
    2. In the ribbon of this library, “FILES”->”New Document”->”Content Type 1”, then the Office application with the predefined template will be opened for editing;
    3. Click the “Save” button, choose the save path as the current library, click “OK” to finish the process;
    4. Refresh the library in browser, the newly created document appears there.
    In my test, there is no “Choose Content Type” dialog showing up when save the document in Office application.
    I would suggest you provide more details about how to reproduce this issue(screenshot would be better) for further research.
    Thanks
