Setting timezone and hwclock result in bad time saved to bios

When I follow the guide https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/be … #Time_zone and set following in chrooted Arch environment, I always end up with bad time saved to my pc bios.
ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Prague /etc/localtime
hwclock --systohc --localtime
Before the symlink, 'date' prints correct local time - it doesn't know my time zone so it prints the correct time (thinking I'm GMT+0). I use Windows so it's stored in BIOS as local time ('hwclock' also correctly prints local time and not UTC).
After the symlink, 'date' shows incorrect time - it shows my time zone but the actual displayed time is +2 hours from my local time (UTC+1 DST/CEST). It makes sense that 2 hours were added to the time because previously the time was printed as GMT+0.
Single ntp sync in Arch or Windows fixes this time shift forever but it should be possible to prevent this, right?

While I do agree with @ewaller that UTC is the "way to go", I think "Linux devs" should put a little more effort into supporting both local time and UTC setups
One reason why I think this is important is for people who need to switch between booting a "locked down" Windows (for work, school, etc, where they have no / limited admin rights) and Arch.
If you don't belong to this group of unfortunate people, you can try forcing Windows to use UTC for the hardware clock, no matter which time zone you're in: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ti … in_Windows

Here is a simple VI which monitors the number of alarms and the elapsed time. It does have some bugs but I think it will show an approach.

What is a Scorecard Custom Set Formula and how do I use it?

When creating a Scorecard (in Dashboard Designer) which includes a KPI, in the right "Details" frame, there is a section for "Set Formulas" and under that (along with Time, which I understand) is "Custom" which I can't find
any documentation for. How can and how do I use this? (I am using tabular data sources, if that matters.)

APPLE TV 2 HD model and updated to latest version 6.1.1 since doing that it won't set date and time and tells me my Apple ID and password are incorrect and I know there not. What do I do?

It connects to internet fine. I have tried restoring back to factory condition and hard wire update by connecting it to my Mac mini .
The date and time won't set. And won't acknowledge my Apple ID and password......... I am usually tech savy but this has caused me grief .
Do I need to downgrade my update....
But can't get any menus until I log in my apple account...
It can't log into my iTunes account until time and date have been set.
When I did the hard wire restore connected to Mac mini it wouldn't go past the date and time screen as it wouldn't when I did the wifi update too.
it just would get past that screen.
Anyone help!!

This is the result of a network issue. Ensure port 123 on the router is open.

Click on DU's Partition tab when you have the raw drive name selected, then set it to one partition, Mac OS Extended. If it crashes or freezes, it is finding a bad block and can't write.
In any event, if you want to use the drive, and have not zeroed it before, you should now.
Click on Erase -> Security Options -> Zero out data. Still with the full drive selected and not any partition(s).
Then repartition the drive if needed.
Boot from the DVD if that doesn't work. And no, TTPro has never mapped out bad blocks let alone create partitions.
Disk Utility in 10.4.8 is quite good, excellent in fact. No need for an alternative.
Your eMac drive may need to touch of Disk Utility itself. FSCK from the command line, clear the caches with Applejack along with check for corrupt plists. Between Disk Utilty and Applejack (free/shareware) never had to use TechTool Pro - or at least there weren't any errors after those two got done. But if you want a good 3rd party, pick up Disk Warrior 4.

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

Fixed the same problem, STEPS
1. Reset your apple TV
2.It will again stuck on that setting, ignore it by press menu
3. Unplug ethernet wire
4. Try to connect with wifi, it should be work with wifi connection as mine.
5. Then you can switch back Ethernet wire after get fixed.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

Having very difficult time setting up and running time capsule and airport

I am having a very difficult time setting up and running airport express and time capsule. My time machine is not being recognized by my mac. The amber light keeps blinking. I'm ready to stsrt over.

#3 for itunes streaming. I reset the base station and eventually was able to get the backup working and now my green light is on. Next I'd like to be able to play itunes using Airport Express and have connected to my stereo receiver in another room.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with a Windows OS dll.

Video editing software only needs to save the steps taken to achieve the edit, and references the actual video files from the hard drive. So the saved files are only tiny, and it takes very little drive space to auto save to incrementing file names. My digital audio workstation works on the same principle; it creates a backup save just in case things go wrong (which--knock on wood--hasn't happened to me) and only references audio/MIDI files that are related to the project.
My advice is to always, always back up sensitive documents. There are lots of ways of doing this, from manually to automatically. (e.g., A lot of higher-end routers let you connect external storage via USB so you can run backup software that detects any changes to a monitored folder over a network and then backs up any changed/updated documents to the connected storage. I prefer to do it myself manually, though.)
