Setting transparent Color of a Cursor

Hi there,
does anyone know how im able to make the color white (255,255,255) transparent in my mouse-cursor.
I load the cursor from the file "cursor.gif"
thx anyway
cu Errraddicator

Hi Erraddicator,
You can use transparent gifs as cursors. I have used a circle cross hair like the public enemy logo in the past for a shoot em up. You need to save the gif itself as transparent. It has nothing to do with Java. Therefore if you want a transparent mouse cursor (I assume you mean the arrow) you need to create a arrow image, black outline on a transparent background in some 3rd party editor. save the gif file and then load that gif as the cursor.

  • How to set transparency color in QT 7.0?

    Okay, I've been poking around the forums, searching and whatnot, and it looks like I can answer my own question [although please correct me if I'm wrong]: It's not possible, apparently, to set a transparency color for a video track in QT Pro 7.0. Despite the fact that it was easy in 6.0.
    (And they call this an 'upgrade'. Pfffah.)
    Well, I figure there must be a workaround, right? Some clever person out there has figured out a way to solve this, right?
    All I can think of is trying to run QT Player 6.0 on top of Tiger... it should work, at least according to what I've read in the forum. But I don't have Player 6.0 anymore (it conveniently disappeared when 7.0 was installed), and I can't find anywhere to download it from Apple's web site.
    Help, please!
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Yep. The Color Wheel is gone in version 7 but it still plays files that use a transparency color (those created in earlier versions).
    It also no longer allows you to edit MIDI Instruments, enable/disable mouse actions or set image overrides for sprite tracks.
    It's why I use both Pro versions on my Mac mini. You needed to "hide" the older version prior to installing Tiger.
    Sorry that I don't have an answer for your dilemma.

  • Setting a Transparent color

  • Setting transparent fill color

    b How can I set the transparent color to a form object from a JavaScript code?
    For example in this case:
    > xfa.resolveNode("this.border.fill.color").value = "255,255,0";
    This line set the object color to yellow. And transparent color? How I have to do?
    Thanks !!!
    Dan

    While XFA supports any color space, the
    usable color space depends on the target. Since your forms are rendering to PDF (or possibly HTML if you're using LiveCycle Forms), you're unfortunately limited to their support which is RGB only.
    In short, you can't set the transparency value of a color when targeting PDF.

  • Paint - set transparent background?

    Can anyone tell me how to set an image (.gif) transparent background in Windows 8 Paint (ver. 6.2)?  Been scratching head for a couple of hours now but can't for the life of me see how to set a transparent colour.  I'm sure that the XP version
    of pint allowed this.
    Thanks,

    There is a way! it is now hidden in a ribbon command.
    Under the Image section of the ribbon, click the "Select" drop-down menu. The bottom command is called "Transparent Selection" and it can be toggled on or off.
    Just like the older version of of paint, the Color #2 is the transparent color (so you could remove a white or black background, just make Color #2 white or black, respectively)
    FYI, the other command I had a hard time finding was to make the canvas bigger/smaller (but not shrink/stretch the image). It used to be called "Image attributes" but now you go File>Properties, and you can adjust the size there.
    Would you PLEASE walk me through it ?  I have this jpeg, I have always see the Transparent deal under "Select", but I do NOT know HOW to "select" the background to make it transparent?
    Please help and Thanks.

  • Set transparency of UIView not working

    I'm trying to set a UIView to a transparent color. I found this snippet which partially works. Here is the code from the IBAction that calls the UIView:
    Creed *creed = [[Creed alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil];
    [self presentModalViewController:creed animated:YES];
    self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithHue:0.0 saturation:0.0 brightness:1.0 alpha:0.2];
    As the view slide up, it's transparent. As soon as it stop animating, it's solid.
    I tried moving the "self.view..." to the viewDidLoad and it does the same thing. It animates in faded, but as soon as it comes to a rest, it's full white again.
    I tried no code at all, and tried to set the opacity in IB, and the background color, to the same effect.
    Where do I set this to make it work right?

    Hi bonfx, and welcome to the Dev Forum!
    presentModalViewController replaces the superview as soon as the animation is complete, so the whilte background you're observing is the new superview. I.e. the alpha of the modal view's background hasn't really changed.
    To get the effect you want, you'll need to simulate a modal transition by adding creed.view to the current view using your own animation. I posted an example of this a while ago, but can't seem to locate it atm. I'll get back to this thread as soon as I find it unless you don't need further help, ok?
    \- Ray
    Update: I got lucky before the 15-minute grace period expired. Here's one of my posts that shows how to animate the transition: [http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10689704&#10689704]. Somewhere around here I might have an example of the entire forward and backward transition. If you post to say you need more help, I'll dig for that code. - R

  • Distilling transparent colors from Word

    I have a color transparency in a Word document that renders in a dithered fashion when I create the corresponding PDF document. I have tried the various pre-defined settings (standard, high quality, and press quality) as well as disabling compression and all yield the same dithered result (Acrobat 9.2.0). Below is an example.
    The original image is on the left and the resulting PDF is on the right. Note that i can generate transparent colors from Illustrator using any of the redefined settings. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I assume it's an Acrobat print setting issue and i've tried a number of different setting compinations to no avail. Thanks

    Thanks for replying. I've tried using PDF Maker, but it consistently hangs during the process on any file that I've tried it on. (this is a new installation of Acrobat 9 Pro.) I've tried repairing with the installation disk, but I get the same result. So it looks like I need to resolve that problem first.

  • Could set background color of scrollbar?

    Hy
    is it possibile set background color of scrollbar?
    thanks

    From my experience on this - yes, setting the colour (or the Visual Attribute) of the Block object will determine the background colour of the scrollbar. As far as I can see, it doesn't affect anything else.
    I've had to ensure all my Blocks have a background colour set (to r88g88b88), because if it's left as <unspecified>, then the background of the scrollbar will be transparent. In Client-Server 6i, this isn't too bad, as the scrollbar still has a visible 'edge', but in 10.1.2.0.2 WebForms, this edge isn't present, meaning the background of the scrollbar isn't visible at all, just the two ends and a disembodied drag button. Not the end of the world, but some users thought it looked funny.

  • Changing Color Of Console Cursor

    I've searched for about five hours trying to uncover the method of changing the color of the console cursor
    in Linux. Specifically I'm not trying to change the color of the cursor in terminals, I know how to do that, but I don't know how change them in the console. I've looked at the How To on the bash prompt which cover cursor movement but says nothing about color. I've seen a blinking green cursor in a console in one of the source distros but have no idea of how that was done. Is this a variable set in /etc/profile or ~/.bashrc? Can anyone help?

    export PS1='[33[01;32m]u@[33[1;34m]h [33[01;36m]W $ [33[00m]'
    Ok, if you just wanted say the cursor in bold cyan but still wanted all that information
    export PS1='u@h W[33[1;36m] $ [33[00m]'
    That will make the prompt cyan--if you want it blue then change the 36m to 34m, if you want it green then change it to 32m.
    Here's what's happening, more or less--my memory, however, is a little hazy so someone correct mistakes.
    PS1='
    That part's obvious.  It begins with a single quote.
    Then, various things that I want indicated, user, hostname (only the first part and working directory.  The u is user, the h is hostname (only the personal name--hrrm, that ~can't be the right word, but I mean the first part of the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name).
    Now, the color stuff begins and this is where my memory is hazy.  I believe the [33 part indicates that you're doing something with the colors---note that you have to escape the brackets with backslashes.  So, we start indicating there will be color with [33
    Then the [1;36m
    That part indicates which color--I forget all the codes, looked this stuff up a long time ago and settled upon what I like.  I just know the green blue and cyan because I use them in my prompts.   1;31m is red.  Then we end the color with another ] and the $ for the prompt.  I put spaces in, you might choose to do so or not.  I like a space between the prompt and command.  Then, we need to close the colors with another [33[00m]'
    (Don't forget the single quote at the end.)
    One way to fool around with it is to make a little file called, for example, ps1.txt
    u@h W[33[1;31m] $ [33[00m]
    Note there are no quotes in that.
    Now you can just do
    PS1=`cat ps1.txt`
    Note that those are backticks, the little mark under the ~, not single quotes.  That particular one will give you a red $.  You can edit your ps1.txt file for instance trying 1;31m 1;32m etc to see what you like, and rather than having to type the whole thing each time, just do that
    PS1=`cat ps1.txt` each time you want to try a new color.  So, you just have to change a number in your ps1.txt file. (I'm very lazy and hate typing--if I were really playing with it, I'd probably make a script to do that called ps1x or something, which would simply read
    PS1=`cat ps1.txt`
    However, that's being quite lazy.
    Sorry for the long winded explanation, but hopefully it helped you.  If I told you many things you already know, I apologize, but maybe some newcomer, browsing archives will find it helpful.

  • How do I change the Color of the Cursor?

    Hi!
    I have changed the background color of a JTextField. Unfortunately the background color of the textfield is almost identical with the color of the cursor, so the cursor cannot be seen when the mouse pointer points into the textfield.
    Is there a way to change the color of the cursor and can this be done using the UIManager?
    Thanks,
    Alex

    I think you need to create a custom cursor from an image like .gif or .jpg.
    Look in to the javadoc of java.awt.Toolkit class for creating a custom cusrosor.
    toolkit.createCustomCusror(...)
    After creating the cursor, set the cursor on the desired components using component.setCursor(myCursor).
    Hope this helps

  • Select Transparent Color with Eyedropper ...

    Hi,
    I've a semitransparent rectangle with some colored paths behind it. I now want to pick the exact color I see: My semitransparent color mixed with the background. I tried the eyedropper tool (with and without SHIFT), but it always picks the full opaque color of the rectangle and not the transparent one (even not the mixed with the background one).
    How can I pick transparent colors? Do I have to make a screenshot, paste the clipboard to Photoshop and pick it there?
    Many Thanks
    Konrad

    Ok...I just figured out how to do it haha nevermind!
    To get the exact colour I used the eye dropper tool to go over the colours and looked at the COLOUR GUIDE window instead of just the colour window.
    When you get the colour and want to paint with it, make sure to turn the opacity up because it will still have the percentage set. Done!

  • Report Generation broken after deployment - Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi

    Upon deployment, the Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi became broken.  After installing LV2010 SP1 to view the VIs in the deployment, I noticed that in the second case structure where the code draws the border using the BorderAround invoke node, there is an extra variant input parameter named 'Parameters'.  Upon right-clicking, an option to 'Relink Invoke Node' appeared and after selecting this, the extra input disappeared and the VI was no longer broken.
    Why does "Relink Invoke Node" appear?  How do I create a deployment with this issue?  Has anybody else experienced this?  Why is the TestStand deployment so buggy?

    Hi Ching-Hwa,
    I have set up a test deployment here where I am deploying a workspace that contains a sequence file.  This sequence file has a LabVIEW Action Step calling a VI that opens a new Excel file and simply calls the Excel Set Cell Color and Border VI.  After deploying this, both the VI and my test sequence ran on the deployment machine without error.  Therefore, I do have some more questions to more accurately reproduce what you are seeing.
    First, what operating systems are you developing on and deploying to?  Also, what license do you have for TestStand on the machine you are deploying to?  If you have a development version, can you manually take the sequence file and VI to this machine and run it?  I know you now have LabVIEW 2010 SP1 on your development machine, but if you have the development version of TestStand as well, it would be interesting to see if you copy the files over if you still see this behavior.  Are you including the TestStand Engine in the deployment?
    Can you open a blank VI on the deployment machine and add the Excel Set Cell Color and Border VI?  It would also be interesting to see if this is not a product of the deployment, but rather an issue with something on the deployment machine itself.  What version of the Report Generation Toolkit do you have on each machine?  Also, what versions of Excel are you using on the development and deployment machine?  Again, it would be helpful for me to know exactly what versions you have installed on both the development and deployment machines so that I can reproduce this as accurately as possible.
    One last thing to try, too, would be to try deploying the VI by itself just to see if it also has the same behavior.  Do you have the Application Builder in LabVIEW?  If so, could you also try building an executable from the VI, create an installer, and deploy this to the deployment machine?
    In regards to the "freezing" of code by removing the block diagrams, I do not believe this will be a proper work around in this case.  While this removes the block diagram from actually being deployed along with the VI and restricts users from editing the code on the deployment machine, if something is getting changed in the compiled code upon deployment, this will not stop this from happening.  This option is available more as a memory option to lower the size of the deployment as well as prohibit any users on the development machine from editing the block diagram themselves.
    Thanks, Ching-Hwa!  I look forward to your response so that I can continue trying to reproduce this issue.  Have a great day!

    Hi
    A couple of things...
    Thats SQL - not PL/SQL
    That is not a valid SQL statement, I'm surprised its not giving an error. Please post the exact region source.
    When posting code on the forum, put {noformat}{noformat} (with the curly brackets and the word code in lowercase) above and below your code like this...
    {noformat}{noformat}
    SELECT *
    FROM emp
    {noformat}{noformat}
    It will then appear like this... SELECT *
    FROM emp
    Cheers

  • How to set background color in JTF GRID

    Is it possible to set background color in JTF GRID ?

    Hello Pavo,
    it's also possible to take the code from ebitar and use the expression within styleClass instead of inlineStyle.
    E.g. you can define a custom style "StyleClassEmptyText" in your skin and set this styleclass if af:inputtext is empty.
    By using style classes you can have the same style in the whole application and you are able to change this style on a single point(in the styleclass) for the whole application.
