Several of my purchased itunes songs, only first half of the song is there?

I have just updated to ios 5.0 on my phone and itunes10 on my pc. I bought about 30 songs in the last week and have found 3 that are just the first 30 seconds of the song, then it is just blank. I have not played then all yet so I don't know if there are more. How do I download these again or get the whole song to play?

Just brought the MacPro and first time using iTune and Yes I authorized the computer. But for a few purchased songs, only 30 seconds of the song plays and for one song off an album, a pop comes up saying I need to authorized the computer, but I do this and it says it is authorized already. I click on the song to play it and this process repeat (saying it is not authorized, then saying it is already authorized)

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • When I sync my ipod touch with itunes it only syncs half of every song to my ipod touch

When I sync my ipod touch with itunes it only syncs half of every song to my ipod touch.  I cant figure out how to fix this problem. PLEASE HELP ME resolve this problem! THANKS!

    - Yes. If you sync with another coputer. the contents of the iPod will be replaced with those on the new computer.
    - You can redownload most iTues puchases b:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - You can transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - For other music you will need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - If yo want to retain app data like saved games, do the following after all the apps and other things on in the iTunes library:
---- Connect the iPod t the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup

  • IPod only gets half of the songs from new albums...

I have an iPod classic, purchased in 2008. I am running into an issue where when I add new albums to iTunes (not from the iTunes store or from an actual CD), only about half of the songs will make it on to the iPod when I sync. The songs all show up and work on iTunes, and my iPod is set up to add the entire library, but some of the songs just don't make it on there. The iPod isn't anywhere near capacity. I've tried adding them to specific playlists and although they show up fine on iTunes, they are just completely missing from the playlist on the actual iPod. Everything is up to date, software wise, so I'm hoping someone can offer some guidance. Thank you!

Error correction may be the problem; it was for me. See if it is checked and if it is uncheck it. You will find it under File>Preferences>Advanced>Importing. I hope this solves your problem.

  • Downloaded album from iPhone iTunes and only got half of the album

Downloaded album from iPhone iTunes and only got half of the album. Where is the rest of the album? My iTunes account showed that I was charged for the full account>

    Welcome to the forums!
I'd contact the iTunes store and explain your situation. While they normally do not allow duplicate downloads the iPhone and Store interface is brand new and bound to have some issues to start with. I'd suspect they'll just allow you to download it again or credit your account.

  • My recent purchase only downloaded half of the song

  • How, on the ipod touch 5th gen, can you get rid of songs in the songlist?  I restored from a stolen ipod touch 4th gen, and now there is a bunch of crap that is not even mine on this thing.  The songs only show up in the songs listing.

I had my last ipod stolen, when I got the 5th Gen I restored from my old ipod from itunes and now there is a bunch of crap on there that I don't want, but the songs only show up on the ipod so I can not delete them off of the ipod from itunes.  Any quick fixes to remove the unwanted songs, or do I have to start over completely?

Do they play on the iPod?
If not then they are corrupted.
Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
    Come back with the results.

  • I downloaded a song and i tried to listen to it but it will only play the first half of the song and then skip to the next song.

I downloaded several songs successfully to my ipod nano (5) but this particular song when i tried to listen to it would play for the first half and then skip to the next song in the playlist like the ipod thought the song was over.

Did you download from itunes? If not, some websites save the song too quickly or in a format that glitches.
I've had this problem before with both itunes and non itunes purchases, try deleting it and re-downloading.

  • Only plays half of the song???

I purchased a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony some months ago, and was listening to the 4th movement today, when, about 14 minutes into it, it stopped playing. I tried playing it again, and again at the same point (just about 14:11) it stopped. I updated iTunes, restarted the computer, and still it stops playing at the same spot. The other three movements of the Symphony are fine and play all the way through. Anyone know what's going on here?

Be sure you have done this to Reset the shuffle, since you noticed this problem.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655
If that does not help, you may want to do a Restore on the shuffle, which is done by select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES, and going to the Summary tab.  This will erase the shuffle, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings.  Maybe the shuffle had some type of data corruption in its storage.  Erasing it (with a Restore) should resolve that type of problem, and give it a fresh start.

  • Playlists disappeared and newly synced music only plays half through the song then goes silent

happened yesterday and the "connect" option started appearing too. reloaded the app...no fix. any ideas, has this happened to anyone else? i am properly logged in with my premium account and i was not a member prior to 2011.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the corrupt tracks from the music section of your iTunes library, close & then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked. This seems to help with partial downloads...
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

Hi just wanted to let you know I solved most of my XP problems with my new IPOD. It won't recognise the IPOD or driver and froze and locked up and then the battery died. After hours of trying different things here is what I did. I completly closed computer down. Waited 15 minutes turned on and reloaded everything. I put the usb cable in but not hooked up to IPOD. I turned off Mcaffee (all of it). After my computer came on. I then went and closed everything I didn't need in the bottom toolbar. (taskbar). I then reloaded the software and waited. Took forever to reload and I don't know why but whatever it worked but I DID NOT HOOK UP THE IPOD LIKE IT SAID! I instead shut down the computer after loading the software and waited 5 minutes and turned it back on. I again waited and shut of mcaffee. It loaded everything fine this time and said new hard ware and drivers detected. I plugged my IPOD in and YES I WAS UP AND RUNNING (THIS IS AFTER 6 HOURS OF PLAYING WITH OTHER THINGS!) I am able to load and play, burn, watch movies, see pictures and everything your suppose too! The only thing I see different than the instructions is I left my usb cable plugged in and when it said to eject the disk I didn't. I also didn't plug in the IPOD (5th Gen) and then I shut down waited and then restarted the computer. I hope this helps others because I know the feeling of wanting to return something you paid dearly for and worked hard at saving money to buy one and it doesn't work. My only thing I dislike about apple is they didn't supply a ac adapter for the IPOD and the instructions say to plug it up when trying to charge battery. DUHHHHHH, ya can't do that if ya don't have one and stores are closed and won' open until Monday! But at least I am up and running. I just hate having to plug up IPOD to computer daily to charge the battery which only last a half a day1

  • HT203167 I recently downloaded my previous purchased items from iTunes but I have found that some songs dont play or have only downloaded half of the actual song :/

I recently downloaded my previous purchased items from iTunes but I have found that some songs dont play or have only downloaded half of the actual song :/ when i go to iTunes>Purchased it says that the songs have already been downloaded, which means i cant re-download them. is there a way I can re-download my previous purchased songs?

Once you successfully add you iTunes library to iTunes Match, you go to Settings>iTunes & App Store on your iOS device and turn on iTunes Match.  Your iTunes Match library will then appear on your iOS device.

Downloaded and album from itunes and only half of the songs will download to my ipod.   Error message says file cannot be converted.  How do I fix this or get a refund from itunes?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

I purchased an album on iTunes. Only half of the songs will play. What can I do?

    Hi crgcain,
If some of the songs on an album purchased from the iTunes Store are incomplete or won't play, you may want to try deleting them and redownloading the files. You may find the following article helpful:
