SharePoint 2010: Ribbon on document library does not load

Hello,
I have a user where on some sites that he uses the document library fails to load. We are on SharePoint 2010, Enterprise Edition. The problem is just on his Windows 7 PC, and no others have reported the problem. He is using IE 10.
Can you give me some possible things to try to fix the issue?
Thanks
Paul

Will you also please describe how it fails to load? Do you get an HTTP error/"This page cannot be displayed"? Does it not show up, the "unexpected error" error?

  • Ribbon on document library does not load

I am logged on as a Site Collection Admin and using IE 9.0.8112.16421 on Windows 7 SP1 and when I go to a list, I get "Loading..." and I have closed out, restarted, and tried to log on as a different user, when I do, it WORKS!
I set that user to be a Site Collection Admin, on same system, my system, multiple sites are affected.  I just tried Calendars List and that seems to work OK, however Announcements, Custom Lists, Links List, etc. seem to be having the same "issue."
I read someone to try to use Developer Dashboard so I put it in here.  Is it COMMON to have SO MANY SPWeb's in the list below?
I tried to go to the site and click refresh and then click on the List Tab, and try to get the ULS log results, this is what I got, and I don't know if it is "EVERYTHING" but others are using the site and a lot goes on and so I don't know if this
overlaps. This is all I got with the correlation ID.

I only have one WFE and APP server on the same box, and another server, as the SQL Server.
    2 node farm.
I just stood up another Web APP
http://sharepoint:343 port and using domain\sitecollectionadmin account is the same one I use, my administrator account, not my Matthew.Carter user account, but my Administrator.MC account.  so I am logged as domain\Admin.MC
and so I am on port sp:80 and I get the "ribbon" loading... and then I go to a brand new "Team Site" site, NOTHING changed, just out of the box, "new team site" and I get the SAME THING! but this is on port :343 (random port #).
Just odd.  If I set my matthew.carter account to be a site collection admin, as the admin.mc account is, then I can do the same thing logging on with the "Sign in as a different user."  it's strange!  Why would one account, with same
permissions get "stuck" "Loading..." and the other one, NOT?  Only happening on that account.
Think I should bit the bullet, and ask to have that account deleted and added again?  Just wonder what I can check as no "error's."
I forgot to add that I have rebooted the WIndows 7 x64 SP1, IE9 (x86) system I am on and closed out and tried "InPrivate" and not.
Just tried it on a dev Server 2012 R1 box on IE 10 x86 and got same "Loading" error with the admin.mc account.

  • Itunes library does not load

Itunes library, on local hard drive and in default location, does not load. The preference is pointing to the right place and reset doesn't do anything.
This is what I did last. I had manually copied files directly in to /user/music/itunes/itunes music/ while I tunes was still running. Could this have damaged the library?
    Thank you.

It is usually best to let iTunes do the work and use the 'keep' and 'copy' features.
If you move things around from the Finder then iTunes loses its' reference to the tunes. If you do the work from within iTunes and you will have fewer problems.
If the tunes are in the correct locations (/user/music/itunes/itunes music/) then from within iTunes select the 'Add' option from the File menu - select a tune or 2 as a check - are they now in the library? If so the 'add' the rest.

  • Content scope document library does not return result for non farm administrator

    Hi
I have a situation where I had to go with a unique permission applied subsite to store 1000 documents in the document library. This site has a set of 50 users. I was able to create content scope and library path for search. It returns results for me(creator/owner/administrator)
however if I add other users as contributor or full permission, even after full crawling it does not return result for others.
I saw some article that security broken site wont be indexed normal way and to include and I did that as well but no result for other users. I always get result.
Please suggest if there are any specific security permissions that I need to include, so the document library target search will return result for others.
    Thanks
    Shri

    Hi Shri,
For administrator search results, it looks like the documents could be crawled and searched.
For other users you grant full control permission on subsite with unique permission where you store 1000 dcouments in document library, please make sure these 50 users have access permission(at least view permission) on documents from the
    library, then test again.
Also test if users search on search center site without search scope, see if it's scope issue or search web part issue.
If above doesn't work, please check ULS log for related useful information around the time when users search the documents, there should be more info to verify if issue is related to unique permision.
    Thanks,
    Daniel Yang

  • IPhoto Library does not load

    Hi there,
Recently updated to Lion on a fresh install of Mac OSX Snow Leopard. I backed-up everything using Time Machine as well as doing a secondary backup to an external drive.
Everything installed and worked fine, but unfortunately iPhoto no longer opens and is unnable to load my iPhoto Library as it states that the photo library has been opened with a newer version of iPhoto.
I've tried re-installing iLife, using a previous version of the Photo Library from Time Machine with no luck whatsoever.
Does anyone know any work arounds or how to get my iPhoto Library to work.
    Many Thanks!

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Nomad Jukebox zen nx : library does not load in

After replugging my Nomad Jukebox Zen Nx (.00.05e) to my computer, CMS(3.0.09) did not recognize the player. I followed the tips on this forum and installed the latest drivers and plug-ins.
Now the player appears in the device manager, but the library loads at an incredible low speed : even after 3 hours it was not finished yet.
How to solve this problem ?

Just to confirm that you have the following latest:
    <FONT face=Helv size=2>
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
    - Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.

  • Home Sharing - Itunes library does not load and jumps to Music

Hi, I have 2 itunes libraries on 2 different computers on the same network using the same apple id.  One of the computers is an IMAC and the other is windows.
On the windows computer when I click on the shared library (from the IMAC) the library appears from the IMAC.  When I am on the IMAC and click on the shared library (from the windows computer) it looks like it is searching then jumps the "music" library, that displays the current library on the IMAC.
    Can someone help....Thank You

    Hi Jim,
If you are having an issue with Home Sharing between your two computers, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

Several of the steps you have already done, but if you start with step 5 it will help you.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Team Site default site assets library does not have support for video, images, etc..

    Greetings,
Our users have noticed that when they create a new subsite that the default site assets library does not give them the option to create a new document type of video, image, etc.. just a word document.
If I create a new asset library I do see all the options when creating a new file from the drop down menu under the ribbon >files>new document
Is this default behavior when creating a new team site or is there something that I can configure so that the default site assets library that is built is really a site assets library and not a standard document library?

i think you are talking about the "Site Assets" Library and this is not meant for the Asset Library.Yes this is default behavior.
Site Assets: Use this library to store files which are included on pages within this site, such
as images on Wiki pages. jsut think about the other OOTB libraries i.e Style, Pages libraries etc.
Assets Library is the one you need to add in your site collection to take the advantage of it.

  • Document library is not receiving emails

    Dear all,
my document library is not receiving email. For the last 2 months only this is not working.
I had followed the following link for the configuration of the setup - initially
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc287879%28v=office.14%29.aspx
I had checked the ULS log. Didn't find major ones. i have seen like this The Incoming E-Mail service has completed a batch.
Can anyone give input to solve
    Cheers

Check if any thing changed since it was working. something like permission or update
Does the app pool account has access to pick-up \ drop folder
    How is IIS SMTP configured
    restarted SMTP service
    Do you see
E-mail cannot be delivered because site is over quota or locked for editing. Site URL:
    http://YourSiteURL.
Go to the SharePoint Central Administration > Application Management > Configure quotas and locks > on the Site Quota Information section >  set a limit (i.e: 5000 MB) on this setting:  “Limit site storage to a maximum of:”  >
    and then press “OK”.
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/62365/sharepoint-incoming-email-not-working
It's not working because SharePoint adds a header to the email message called X-Mailer: SharePoint Foundation 2010, and the incoming email feature will not accept emails with that header. This is apparently by design.
To make it work I will have to write some custom code to either take the X-Mailer header out of the email messages while they're waiting in the drop folder, OR add it to the InfoPath form's code-behind to use a System.Net.Mail method to send the form data
instead of the standard email submit option.

  • This VI claims to be part of a library, but the library does not claim to own this VI.

I am having a reoccurring issue with "This VI claims to be part of a library, but the library does not claim to own this VI." I can work around this by disconnecting the vi from the library and then saving it back.
However, I cannot access some vi because I don't have a password. Sub-vi's are not executable and I am thinking this is due to the issue first mentioned. For example, after relinking to a library the vi in question is now having class conflicts. I cannot modify this vi to fix it.
I believe this issue is responsible for certain functionality of my project to work for months on end and then suddenly the functionality stops working. After investigating, I find that there is an issue with some .lvlib, and using a different vi from that library will solve the issue (for example, switching from standard report to html report). I think this may be related to "This VI claims to be part of a library, but the library does not claim to own this VI."
This seems to be happening since installation of version 10.

  • Sharepoint 2013 list view quick edit does not work with out remote API permissions

sharepoint 2013 list view quick edit does not work with out remote API permissions.
When I give Use Remote Interfaces  -  Use SOAP, Web DAV, the Client Object Model or SharePoint Designer interfaces to access the Web site it works which is not an ideal situation..

This is true. If you use Fiddler to watch the requests from the list view quick edit you can see CSOM calls. For example when changing a value in a cell, when you tab out you will see the SetFieldValue and Update method calls on the list item.
