Short cut - Function Keys for my Application

Hi Friends,
I am trying to use function keys alone (like only F5 or F6 etc) as shortcut for actions in my app....how to do it ???
I can abe to place shortcut keys like CTRL + R or ALT + R etc...that is control keys + any key is possible...but how to do only function keys.....
I tried using setMnemonic....setAccelerator....but i am not able to use function keys alone.....kindly help me out....
Regards,
V.Prasanna

The mnemonic has to be an actual character, but function keys are perfectly valid for use as accelerators:  KeyStroke ks = KeyStroke.getKeyStroke("F6");
  comp.getInputMap().put(ks, actionID);That works for me. How are you doing it?

  • Oracle Functional Testing for Web Applications for Oracle Apps

    I am trying to test Oracle Application 11i and R12 using Oracle Functional Testing for Web Applications.
    In 11i:
    If i open any forms then then the Application is getting crashed whereas it's recording the html events.
    In R12:
    If i open any forms then the Form is getting opened but it's not recording the events happening on the forms
    whereas it's recording the html events.
    Please let me know whether Oracle Functional Testing for Web Applications supports can be used to test Oracle Apps 11i/R12 including the Forms.
    Regards,
    Arun

    Hi,
    AFAIK, there is no official document which states that "Oracle Functional Testing for Web Applications" is certified with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i/R12. I assume it should work with Forms 10g but not with Forms 6i, so it should work (does not mean it is certified) with R12.
    I would suggest you log a SR and confirm this with Oracle Support.

  • License Key for my applications

    I have created an application and would like to distribute as freeware from my product website.
    I would like to enforce users of my application to continually upgrade to the next version of the application on expiry of a license key.
    How can I create license keys for my application that will enable me to specify an expiry date etc.. That way when the license expires the users are required to input a new license key of the application.
    Thanks for any information !

    Remember, you are developing in Java. The Java VM executes byte code. Byte code can be modified in place, or reverse engineered, modified at the source level and re-compiled.
    You can not stop clever people form working around whatever scheme you go for.
    You may come up with a very cunning scheme indeed and congratulate yourself on a job well done. Then along comes some guy/gal who's brighter and/or more experienced than you and in two shakes your scheme is compromised.
    Consider the information in this link: http://www.cigital.com/hostile-applets/maginot.html
    Large, expensive, commercial systems have large, expensive licensing mechnisms. They can all be compromised. Take BEA's scheme for WLS, they keep chaning it between version, but you just need to be dilligent and figure it out. That is, I'm sure you could do it. I, of course, would never consider attempting such a thing.
    One word of warning - messing with commercial vendors code will, at the very least, invalidate your license agreement and, at worst, end up with you spending time behind bars.
    Let me say here that I do not advocate reverse engineering commercial code. There, I think I've covered my ass on that one ;)
    Having said all this. Even the simplest scheme will work for the vast majority of users/developers who have dificulty working out how to set their own class path.
    My advice? If you insist on putting this key scheme into your system, spend as little time as possible and make it real simple. As Albert Einstein once said "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler".

  • What are all the Function Keys for on my new KU-0841?

    I just got an HP  KU-0841 Keyboard and want to know what the Function Keys are for F1-F12.
    Where can I learn about how to use them? Thanks

    Hi,
    Depending on application, or game. For example on one application which I use daily
    F1 =  Help (nearly all applications use this),
    F2 = Slpit screen
    F3 = End
    F4 = Expand
    F5 = Find / Re Find
    F6 = Change
    F7 = Up
    F8 = Down
    F9 = Swap
    F10 = Left (one screen)
    F11 = Right (one screen)
    F12 = Cancel
    Again, DEPENDING ON applicantion, you have to learn from application. Some applications allow you to re-program those keys.
    Regards.

  • Standard function keys in specific applications

    Just wondering whether there is any way to use the standard functions of F1, F2 etc in specific applications without having to have this function enabled in Leopard as a whole. For example, in general, I want to be able to adjust the volume and brightness on my Macbook Pro without having to push the fn-key. However, when, and only when, I use Pages, I want to use these keys as standard-function keys in order to be able to switch between styled. Is there any way I can make this happen??

    I would settle for knowing how to do that again, but what I would really like is the ability to either quickly turn on and off the Mac default uses for the function keys or, better yet, have it turn off in certain apps.
    I've tried the "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys," button in the Keyboard & Mouse System Settings, but I don't see where that has any sort of effect.
    yes, it does have an effect. it lets you use F-keys as regular keys and map them to what you want.
    The reference there to the 'fn' key makes me think it's only for laptops.
    no, this is for any keyboard that has a fn key. if you have it on your keyboard then you get that checkbox in keyboard system preferences. if you don't have it the checkbox won't even show up. when the box is checked you have to hold fn to get the functionality of the F-keys written on them. otherwise they act as regular keys that can be mapped to whatever you want. you can do this in system preferences->keyboard&mouse->keyboard shortcuts.

  • Function keys for Push buttons

    Hi All,
    I have one query in module-pool program,I need to assign Function keys to Push buttons in my programe,like for create(F7),dispaly(F6) and also I need to overwrite few standard function keys,
    any one please guide me.
    Thanks n regds,
    Sree.

    Hi,
    you want in more detail.....ok
    (1)u've created a screen -
    > added push buttons etc. -
    > given name to screen elements i.e pushbuttons etc.and also declared them in program
    (2) create its GUI status ,say STATUS_100---->here you have to assign Function codes ->like if in standard toolbar you want BACK,EXIT,CANC or whatever you want,for ex. for BACK u'll find its icon -> double click on it>give the Func code say F3,now u also wnt to enable Func Key F3 for this--> go to UTILITIES (menu bar)-> F Key consistency-> here u will find all the Func keys-> so to F3 give the same func code as u gave to BACK icon button.
    similar approach u can use for pussbuttons:
    double click on push button> in screen painter attributes-> give the Func code to it ,say for CREATE button u give Func code NEW->come back to GUI status->similarly  go to UTILITIES (menu bar)-> F Key consistency-> here u will find all the Func keys---> so to F7 give the same func code (NEW)  as u gave to CREATE push button.
    (3) In PBO of this screen create a module to set its PF status:
    In screen flow logic:
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
    * To set pf-status and title
      MODULE status_0100.
    In Program:
    MODULE status_0100 OUTPUT.
      SET PF-STATUS 'STATUS_100'.
      SET TITLEBAR 'TITLE_100'.
    ENDMODULE.
    Hope this much detail is quite clear!!!

  • Disabling Function Keys in Select Applications

    Long ago in an OS far away, I knew how to disable the function keys so I could map them as I chose in my mappable apps. I know this was — at the time — a terminal command, but I just can't remember it. I would settle for knowing how to do that again, but what I would really like is the ability to either quickly turn on and off the Mac default uses for the function keys or, better yet, have it turn off in certain apps.

The reference there to the 'fn' key makes me think it's only for laptops. Do I have to restart the app or the computer? Will that do what I'm looking for?
    Any help?
    Thanks,
    Martin

  • Keyboard short cuts functionality problems in MSS

    Hi,
    We have discovered that the keyboard short cuts does not function in the Portal (Manager Self Service) when setting up SAP R/3 transactions Iviews. I.e. in R/3 its possible to use "Ctrlshiftarrow-down" to select multiple entries in an table (program: approval of time recordings in cats). After having implemented the transaction iview we don't have this functionality anymore. Does anyone know what functions?
    Regards Jeppe Jensen

    Just to clarify - you want keyboard shortcuts to the menu?
    If so, I'm assuming you have JMenus containing JMenuItems - using the method
    JMenuItem.setMnemonic(char c);will enable a shortcut.
    Example:
    JMenuItem menuItem = new JMenuItem("this is a menu item");
    menuItem.setMnemonic('t');This will set the shortcut to be 't'.

    I have a simualtion where the learner is instructed to press certain function keys (F11, F4) to "activate" a window within out system (this new window is part of the next slide).
    During preview, the function keys are enabled,but when launching the siulation via the WEB or LMS, those keys are not fucitonal and i get the following response by activating the webaddress field instead of moving to the next step.
    is there anything in the settings/properties that i need to modify to get the expected result?

    My understanding of the problem with function-key keystrokes is the browser window thinks you're talking to it before it lets the keystroke pass through to the SWF.  This is further complicated by which browser you're using, or if you publish as EXE.  Not sure about publishing in AIR.

  • Create license key for My application

    I am developing application software for industries . I want to create application I wants to ask key during installation (as labview asking during installation). Anybody Pls help?

    It looks like it is for LV2010 only.  But you might want to get NI to confirm this.
    However, you could always develop your own licensing system.  I have done this in two different ways:
    1.  Generate a license key that is based on the PCs MAC address.  You will need to have the customer call you and give you their MAC address.  Then generate a key based on this address.  Then the customer enters this key into their software.  This will prevent people from installing it on multiple computers.  One thing to remember is that the customer might have multiple MAC addresses, so your VI that checks the license key will need to check all MAC addresses.
    2.  As mentioned, I have used the Matrix USB dongles.  I think these are great and they allow the user to run the software on whatever PC they like.  But it will require you integrate with Matrix's DLL.  And you also need to purchase a dongle for every customer.

  • What are the Function Keys for?

    Can somebody please explain what these "F" keys are for:  F 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.  I sort of figured out the others but what are these for?  Thank you!

    I'm not sure if this User Guide:

    is also applicable to the Touch model, but have a look at manual page 14.

  • Overriding shortcut keys for specific applications

    How can I override the F9 key so that it works in Flash as its supposed to (open Actions dialog box)? I tried using the System Preferences but it isn't changing it. Flash will not allow me to reassign the key either. The F9 key shows all open windows even when Flash is active. Can I turn off the shortcut in System Preferences? I can't even find it...

    Open system preferences and click on Keyboard & Mouse, then Keyboard Shortcuts. Scroll down to Dock, Expose and Dashboard, there you will find all the key settings for this.
    Just click the box off for no key or click directly on F9 for All Windows and assign a new keystroke to it. You can choose an F key not already assigned or add a keystroke, such as control or option plus the F9 key.
