Should we use MM01 or MM41 single articles

Hello,
I have the following dilemma. My client is a group of companies, some sell retail fashion products, others sell electronics products. For the latter or in general terms for all non-retail articles (e.g. services), should we use MM01 or should we use MM41 and ATTYP = '00' (i.e. single article materials)?
We are on ECC 6.0 and it seems to me that we can use both (I think in older versions, transaction MM01 could not be used). I just want to know if one of those is recommended by SAP?

Hi Sotoris,
please be aware that - as far as I know - materials created with MM01 cannot be processed with MM42/MM43 and cannot be used in special Retail-functionality such as allocation table. Therefore I would recommend MM41 to create single articles if you need Retail-functionality.
I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to keep retail articles (maintained via MM41/42) AND materials (maintained via MM01/MM02).

You cant get both resultsets in SSRS. SSRS dataset will only take the first resultset
you need to either create them as separate queries or merge them into a single resultset and return with ad additional hardcoded field which indicates resultset (ie resultset1,resultset2 etc)
Then inside SSRS report you can filter on the field to fetch individual resultsets at required places. While merging you need to make sure metadata of two resultsets are made consistent ie number of columns and correcponding column data types should be same.
In absence of required number of columns just put some placeholders using NULL

One possible use for separate Apple IDs is to have a separate ID associated with a particular device. This could be important with iMessage or Facetime, because if you associate all your devices with one ID, you will receive iMessages or Facetime calls on all your devices simultaneously. If you only want to do iMessage on your iPhone, for example, people could use the Apple ID associated with your iPhone, and the messages would not show up on your iPad. Obviously, this could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you like to work.
For me, I have a single Apple ID, mainly because it is easier to keep track of my purchases and downloads. I also prefer to receive messages and facetime calls on all my devices, so I can choose which one to respond from.

Hello all,
When creating a new DPS, should I use the sizes offered by InDesign or the display size of the device? I ran into this question when I was looking up the sizes of different devices and found that iPhone 5s, iPhone5c, and iPhone4s sizes differ than the defauly dimensions offered by InDesign.
Also, should I worry about the ppi resolution? With iPhone, they all seem to be 326ppi but when dealing with other devices is this something that I should take into consideration? Ideally, I could be creating DPS apps for all devices offered in the Digital Publishing drop down in InDesign (iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire/Nook, and Android).

By the way, if it helps I am using InDesign CC.

Using 1024x768 and creating PDF articles will get you OK with both iPad resolutions, and, as Bob L. says, quite decent "one size fits all" result for all other devices.

What type of partition should I use? Range or Hash or ..?

I am on Oracle 8.1.7.4 .
I have a table with 10 million rows and looks like its a good candidate for partitioning.
There is a varchar2 column and the data is evenly distributed on the string value. If I want to partition the table on that string value what type of partitioning can I use. How can I give the range, if I use range partition, on the string value ?
Can/Should I use hash partitioning?
I know that there is a list partitioning in O9i, but I am on 8i.

Table volume, in itself, is not enough to warrant partitioning â¦ hope you have some other reasons.

Since you donât mention the actual query or class of queries, maybe it is worth mentioning that partitioning could speed up some queries but also can slow down a lot more other queries.

1. Export a QuickTime Movie. Do NOT use QT Conversion. Import the resulting QuickTime file into the DVD creation program. Don't worry about file size at this point. The DVD authoring application will compress and encode. You can fit about two hours of video on a single-layer DVD.
2. The simplest method is to use iDVD which probably came with the MacBook.
3. Playing the FCE Timeline, press M twice, name the chapter if you wish and click the Add Chapter Marker button in the resulting window. Then when you export, make sure to choose to include Chapter markers in the Export window. Within iDVD, I think you can also set iDVD to include a chapter marker at set intervals, but not at specific points.

The 120 Minute preset is for two hours, but you may want to bring the average down and the high rate also.

Adobe has a DPS add-on for InDesign (http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-publishing-suite-single.html) and it handles all the page transitions as well as swapping between portait and landscape. I think the way most people work is the pages are built in inDesign and regions of animation from EA are added second. But if every page had full screen animation, I suppose you may want to build your pages in Edge first.

You can use enhancement MGA00001 (industry only) for this.

If you want to send a mail for only material creation/ extend then you can you the badi BADI_MATERIAL_REF.
we don't have BADI 's for Change the Material master records.

As tt2 says, iTunes regards everything as being part of an album. However, you could use playlists or playlist folders to group your library as required ... one possibility would be to use the Grouping field, setting this to "Album" for everything you want to see as an album, and "Single" for singles, and then set up smart playlists that select on the appropriate Grouping value.

Business Connectivity Services is a centralized infrastructure in SharePoint 2013 and Office 2013 that supports integrated data solutions.

What type of restore should I use?

My computer is properly backed up using Time Machine. I created a partition using Bootcamp so I could install Windows (I haven't actually installed Windows yet). However, after testing Parallels, which is an amazing program!, I want to get rid of the partition and use Parallels instead.
My understanding is that I have to wipe my hard drive to erase the partition. Assuming this is true, what version of restore should I use? I want the computer to be exactly as it is in the backup, except for the partition.

I should mention that I installed Parallels so I could run Windows and Mac OS simultaneously (it is quite amazing!). Could it be that Parallels creates an unlabeled partition?
I don't do Windoze, but it's my understanding that Parallels makes one huge OSX file that contains the entire Windows system, rather than the way Boot Camp uses a separate partition. I also understand that this huge file is automatically excluded from Time Machine, so it doesn't back the whole thing up every time anything is changed. You can check this via TM Preferences > Options.

What backend should be used?

well i m developing a card game in java.
i would like to know for saving the game settings like the cards and variables of the game what backend should i use. i want the application to be fully platform independent and also dont want to use any proprietory s/w like ms access.
should i store it in a txt/dat file or is there any such compatible db; not talking abt full fledged server kinda dbms like oracle or sql server. just a basic dbms s/w for a small need like this.

It really depends on the scope of the game. Will this be played on the web by many people at a time? Or is this more of a single player desktop app?
For a dbms MySQL is a free, easy to install and light weight solution. This is my usual go-to light weight dbms.
Outside of a database, one option is to serialize the objects that contain the states in which you want to save such as player info, card in players hand, and cards in the deck. You just need to make sure those classes implement the Serializable Interface. When the player saves or exits the game, the objects will be serialized saving their state. When the player is ready to start the game again you can deserialize those objects back into java objects on the stack with the same state they had when they were serialized.
Take a look at the "Serializable" class on the documentation page here [url http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/index.html]http://download.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/index.html. It is in the Java.io package.
If you want a Java based DB that is super light wait (very little functionality), can be distributed with your game app, and completely platform independent you can take a look at SmallSQL [url http://www.smallsql.de/]http://www.smallsql.de/. I have not used this one myself but it might do the job you are looking for as well.
Again, choosing between a DB and data file/serialized objects as well as choosing which DB you should use will depend on the scope of the game. If you are hosting the game, a DB like MySQL will work great. If it is a desktop app than serialization of object or distributing the SmallSQL java DB with you app might be the better choice.

Im using inetd, but in mandrake I had xinetd, and somewhere I had read that it is better. Is this true?, and if so, ahow do I install it, cause it's not in pacman (i know I cant install it from source, but I wonder if it's hidden somewhere in the distro)

A. xinetd is a replacement for inetd, the internet services daemon.
Q: I am not a system administrator; what do I care about an inetd replacement ?
A: xinetd is not just an inetd replacement. Anybody can use it to start servers that don't require privileged ports because xinetd does not require that the services in its configuration file be listed in /etc/services.
Q. Is it compatible with inetd ?
A. No, its configuration file has a different format than inetd's one and it understands different signals. However the signal-to-action assignment can be changed and a program has been included to convert inetd.conf to xinetd.conf.
Q. Why should I use it ?
A. Because it is a lot better (IMHO) than inetd. Here are the reasons:
1) It can do access control on all services based on:
a. address of remote host
b. time of access
c. name of remote host
d. domain name of remote host
2) Access control works on all services, whether multi-threaded or single-threaded and for both the TCP and UDP protocols. All UDP packets can be checked as well as all TCP connections.
3) It provides hard reconfiguration:
a. kills servers for services that are no longer in the configuration file
b. kills servers that no longer meet the access control criteria
4) It can prevent denial-of-access attacks by
a. placing limits on the number of servers for each service (avoids process table overflows)
b. placing an upper bound on the number of processes it will fork
c. placing limits on the size of log files it creates
d. placing limits on the number of connection a single host can initiate
e. place limits on the rate of incoming connections
f. discontinue services if the load exceeds specified limit
5) Extensive logging abilities:
a. for every server started it can log:
i) the time when the server was started
ii) the remote host address
iii) who was the remote user (if the other end runs a RFC-931/RFC-1413 server)
iv) how long the server was running
(i, ii and iii can be logged for failed attempts too).
b. for some services, if the access control fails, it can log information about the attempted access (for example, it can log the user name and command for the rsh service)
6) No limit on number of server arguments
7) You can bind specifc services to specific IP's on your host machine
