Show Full Size On IPad?

I know that this packager is designed for the iphone, but in effect, the IPad is just a larger IPhone.
However, when I deploy my app it shows as an IPhone in this emulator style window that I can expand and contract.
Is there a way to set my application to use the whole screen?
I am using Flash Builder 4 and its working fine, just having issues with the screen size.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Stephan

Make sure that you're up to date with the packager. With the older one (pre-October) it was geared towards just iPhone. Now it does iPhone and iPad, and if you haven't set it to work that way, then it will open as an iPhone app, and you'll have the option to make it 2X in size.
You can get a sense of how it will work by adding this to your app descriptor file:
<iPhone>
<InfoAdditions><![CDATA[<key>UIDeviceFamily</key><array><string>1</string><string>2</stri ng></array>]]></InfoAdditions>
</iPhone>
Put it in the <application> part of the xml, maybe just after where <icon></icon> is located. If there is already an <iPhone> tag, change the InfoAdditions part to be like I've shown.

No. Modern browsers are designed to protect users from that

• Book thumbnails show full size missing

Trying to help rebuild some books created in iphoto 6. The originals are backed up but she has over 20,000 all with just numbers. The book page thumbnails show the photos but the full size pages show only a gray box. How do I find out what the original photo number is so I can find the full size picture. When I click on the page full view of the book the photos that show give me the info on the photo but the gray boxes give the generic info of the book. If I could get the photo number from the thumbnail it could save me hours.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
By “original photo number” do you mean the file name assigned by the camera - something like IMG_1234.jpg?
Click on the 'i' box lower left and this will open the Info pane which will tell you the filename of the pictures.
However, how did the book lose these pictures? If this is because of database corruption you won't be able to rebuild the book in the same library.

• How to show full size images from a thumbnail view?

Hi,
I am trying to setup a simple portfolio of projects. I have a series of 4 screen dumps of some web work I did, and they have to be greatly reduced in size so they can all fit on one page. I'd like to be able to have the user click on any of the 4 screen shots (imported png files) and then see a full size image. I know how to do this basically in plain html, but uncertain how to set this up with iWeb. Do I need to create 4 new pages with the full size images on them? Or is there an easier way.
thx

• Iphoto 09, the slider for the thumbnail doesn't show full size image

The slider in the lower left that when to the left shows small thumbnails and when to the right, to the "head icon", shows the image enlarged to fill the window, is broken in iPhoto 09. When you slide all the way to the right or click the head icon, the biggest the images magnify to is thumbnails sized to four across and three high thumbnails (displaying 12 big thumbnails rather than one screen filling image). The only way to examine the image now in 09 is to go into edit mode, which still has the row of thumbnails across the top instead of a single large image.
This is really annoying and stupid and makes the program much less useful. Why would they change the program to make it impossible to see the images at full screen unless in edit mode? Any way to put it back to the 08 behavior?

It does seem a bit silly to retain the icon that implies a full sized viewing though.
iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback
If a change is an improvement, I'm all for it. If it is an arbitrary and unnecessary change, it can just be irritating. Like changing the reload button in Safari from the upper left to a variable position somewhere in the upper middle part of the window, a change that improved nothing and probably was a bad idea; changing a constantly located icon to one that roams around depending on the window width.
Absolutely. Not sure what that has to do with iPhoto, though.
I can cope with changes that make things more efficient or improve quality.
Good to know.
I don't quite understand the defense of mindless changes that merely require the user to dig around and waste time figuring out what happened to seemingly missing standard features.
But who’s defending anything?
I don't think that the sheep who copes by blithely accepting being herded onto the slaughterhouse truck is necessarily exercising any signs of higher intelligence.
True. But what do you make of the one who goes ranting off about things based on incorrect information?
This change in the software is inconvenient and makes the program worse.
By way of explanation and not at all to defend: It’s a subtle thing, I know. But it does add a level of coherence to the OS. Quicklook in the Finder, for instance, does a similar thing with the same keystroke. Itunes starts playing a track on the same keystroke. So, I’m not sure where the failed analysis is.

• Why won't pictures imported from hard drive Pictures folder show full size in iPhoto?

I imported the photos from my Mac's "Pictures" folder into iPhoto. Some of the pictures I imported just appear in iPhoto as a tiny photo about an inch tall, surrounded by black. If I open them directly from the Pictures folder on my Mac, I can make them full screen. Is there a way to do that in iPhoto? I expect this is happening because of the low resolution of the photo, but I still would like to be able to see it full screen in iPhoto.

iPhoto shows you the image at full resolution. If the image is tiny then it's tiny.
You can magnify an image by 300%. In edit mode hold the option key and tap the 2 or 3 button.

• Hard drive not showing full size

Hi all... this is my first post in the forum and hope to share full details about the issue that I am facing with my Envy Touch Smart Laptop.
The configuration of my Lptop is as follows:
The issue started when I went for a windows recovery from the HP recovery manager. Initially before the recovery my C drive was showing as space of close to 500 GB.
When I went for a recovery the first time it aborted and so sarted the recovery again which was successful. But to my surprise I was given two options to boot in one was Windows 8 and the other was HP RM (ESP). As usual I selected the Windows 8 and the laptop started up fine but to my surprise I saw that my C drive had reduced to just 80 GB instead of the 450+ GB space I earlier had. I searched in the net and found that HP RM (ESP) was another partition and that I could remove it by typing msconfig and then go to Boot tab and remove the HP RM (ESP) OS and simply delete it. This also worked fine for me but I am still unable to utilisze the full Hard disk that I have. Can HP support tell me what do I need to do to get the full HD drive back.
This question was solved.
View Solution.

you need to expand your partition to take up the unused space.
do run > diskmgmt.msc > enter
This will bring up the disk manager. Right click the 80 gb partition and expand through the empty space.

• ICloud and desktop libraries different sizes / difficulties with full size downloads on iPad

My Photos library shows up as 14,056 photos at 53 GB in iCloud whereas it shows up as 13,952 at 125GB on my iMac (1TB HDD). I have checked "Use iCloud Photo library" on all my computers and devices's preferences and most of this data has been synched for several weeks. So why the huge discrepancy in size?
Also, since my iPad mini 3 has 128GB strorage I chose to allow it to download full size versions of my images to store locally ...which it never actually seems to do. I always get the little white "loading" icon in the bottom right corner of any image I look at letting me know its downloading the full size from the cloud before I can see the full resolution. Obviously I could not actually store 125 GB library on a 128 GB capacity iPad but since iCloud claims my library is only 53GB and I have 90 something gigs free on the iPad it should work.
I guess I'm confused a to how big my library actually is and where the full sized images are actually being kept. And ideas for how to solve this dilemma?

Think you wanted your reply to be to pjonesCET1
But, I will give an opinion on your post --
You want to use Microsoft Office because of the robust nature of its elements. Apples Iwork and prior to that Apple works - is at the level of Microsoft works - an stripped down piece of software that meets the need of many people. Apple and Microsoft agreed to have a version of Microsoft office that could run on Apple devices.
The of problems between versions of Maverick and Yosemite may have to to with apple releasing Yosemite before it was fully tested with Microsoft office - or the bug has been there awhile and Yosemite just brought it to the surface.
In general - when new level of software comes out - its not a complete re-write. Commented out code that was replaced with new code is removed, along with indicators for new code and history of what the problem is are removed - giving clean code. If the language has new structure, the code may be passed through a converted that, depending on detail reformats code into new statement structure.
Sometimes bugs are added because a certified programmer just can't read existing code even their own - or just ignore standards and use a new instruction that is incompatible with existing code.
Microsoft does issue patches for existing software - so they may do that for your problem - but some problems can take a while to figure out just where they went wrong.

My iPad Mini with retina display suddenly will not connect to the Internet. It shows full wifi bars, yet no web pages will load. My Internet is working with all other apple devices in my house. The iPad also no longer works with celluar data. I'm not sure what has happened. It was working fine a few hours ago. I have tried resetting it, ive restarted my browser etc. I tried to erase all data from my Ipad but I can't do that because it needs to sign into my Apple ID and use the Internet!

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

• Why does my iPhone show some photos full size and some scaled?

Hi,
I have got a collection of DVDs and syncronized a folder with all cover pictures to my iPhone 5.
When looking at them with the "photo" app, some covers are shown full-size, some are
shown scaled. The scaled ones are shown at maximum height, so that I don't see the
whole cover on the 16:9 screen.
All covers are JPG having a similar size (760x1080px), with no EXIF/IPTC tags and
different dpi (tried different settings but saw no change).
Does anyone know, how the iPhone decides to show pictures scaled or not?
Thanks for a hint, regards
Christian

I see that my issue has actually been somewhat addressed in #9 of this article, however no matter how long I wait, the edits I make in PS simply do not show up in Aperture. The edits are visible in the thumbnail view, but disappear in full size view. The really strange thing is that this is a completely brand new issue. Literally just started about a week ago.
