are there any components to show HTML in a java awt application? can I load that HTML from a local file or from a URL?

The JEditorPane can show HTML or Rich Text :

Mail 5.2 doesn't show html/attachments in Lion 10.7.3

I recently upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard.
The problem is that Mail version 5.2 (1257) doesn't show html content or attachments. Even Apple's own templates from the application itself doesn't show correctly.
I've made sure that the "show remote html content in the Preferences is checked.
I've also tried to rebuild the mailboxes without any changes. Html-content and pictures stil doesn't show.
How can I fix this?
Is there a command for the Terminal that can fix this?
MBP 15" 2.2 GHz (10.7.2) 4GB RAM

If you still have the issue, back up all data before proceeding further. Whatever happens, you must be able to restore your system to the state it's in now.
Quit Mail if it’s running.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Drag or copy – do not type – the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
defaults delete com.apple.mail PreferPlainText
Quit Terminal. Launch Mail and test.

CQ page is not rendering properly. It is not rendering HTML. It is showing HTML source code as is.

On some of the pages, I am getting this weird behavior wherein page is not rendering properly. It is showing HTML source code as is. Could you please help me out? What could be the issue? And how can we get rid of the same?

Check your component jsp page. it is possible that it is just plan file without directives <@ or you might have miss to close tag which is creating source as text to render

In Content Management,I have created a folder "abc" under the repository "document".This folder will hold the xml files created for the news items.
The document repository is predefined and has been assigned the Repository Service "tbp".
i have enabled the time-bound publishing for the folder "abc" in its Detail section.
For the news reader , I have made the folder "abc" as "read only".
But the news reader is not able to see the news.
My xml form for the news Author has fields for entering date and time for both "Valid from" and "Valid To".
On saving the news item ,i can actually see these values in the property "LifeTime" of the news document that has been created.
I even set these ValidTo and ValidFrom at the "LifeTime" property also.
But nothing is working.
Also could u pls elaborate on ur statement :
"time-dependent publishing service requires the application property service."
Nothing is working for me.
Pls help.

Show HTML in Personal Profile?

i'd like to show HTML (from a file or from a string) in any kind of component in an app running on a PDA. Probably i will use Personal Profile (and WSDD).
Are there any components I could use to show HTML. Maybe in AWT?
I know there are components like that in swing, but I don't know if I can use swing on a PDA??

You can show HTML in swing components like JEditorPane, But not in AWT.
Also I could not find a way, how to run swing app with WSDD on PDA.

Text Catalog showing HTML tags

We are having an issue after applying Bundle #22 for HCM 8.9 where the calls to the Text Catalog are now showing HTML tags. Has anyone else seen this? Im trying to figure out if its the bundle or something maybe with our customizations that have affected this change. Basically the page where the text from the text catalog displays now shows not only the text, but raw HTML tags as well on the page. Example: BR, B

Servlet showing HTML page

I ma using Tomcat as standalone server.
have servlet showing HTML page which has frames in it . All frames are linked to some html pages. These pages are stored in
webapps/project directory and servlet is in
\Tomcat 4.1\webapps\Project\WEB-INF\classes
Tomcat can show the servlet with al frames witherror402 means it is unable to take html pages from webapps/project

DMP does not show html link

Hi,
We are deploying a DMM system with DIgital Signs, version 5.3.0. We are using DMP 4310G with the beta version of firmware 5.4 as this is the only one with a browser.
We need to show Cisco unified Intelligence Center ( CUIC ) reports of IPCCE.
When I first tried to use the GoTo URL method with play now, it worked fine. with the same link, I created a Presentation using the designer and we only saw a black box on the screen. I can see that the startup URL changes ( if I do play now with go to url method, then Startup URL chnages to what I push and it clears the contents of the Flash Variables Data_Url, if I create a presentation and schedule it to play at certion intervals then it shangec the Flash Variables URL and the Startup URL stays as default ).
Now the problem with the Play Now + Go To URL is that you cannot schedule and cannot erally arrange the screen as you want. But Still, this might have been a solution at least until we figure out why it is not working with Presentation + Schedule method.
So I have created a new report on CUIC by increasing the Font size to 30 ( by default it is 10 ). It shows fine, I again created a GoTo URL also cerated a presentation with the same link. The preview on the designer looks fine.
So I pushed the GoTo URL using play now to one DMP and scheduled the presentation for the other DMP. The one with presentation shows a big black screen and the other one shows a big white screen.
So if anybody have any idea what might be going wrong, or what I may be doing wrong taht wuld be great.
By the way I am uisng the permalinks of the Dashboards from CUIC. I tried with both http and https.

DMS 5.4 is officially out, so you could test this with a full 5.4 system. DMP running 5.4 is not officially supported with DMM running 5.3. See the compatibility matrix at:

Please notice that the 5.4 release do not support Show and Share and the scheduling system has been changed with a new Channel feature.

Show html in af:richTextEditor

Hi all,
I use Jdev 11g.
I have some html formatted emails saved in the database.
To show them in an ADF faces application I use a af:richTextEditor.
That worked for a while, but now I have some html code in a mail and if that mail is openend the page is not rendering completely.
this is the html code in the mail that is causing the problem:

Ok, heres the deal... I am trying to send a HTML formatted EMail
programmatically using groupwise that the user will be able to edit
before it is sent...
I have tried several methods all without success...
1) I create the Email using Groupware Object Model, attach a file called
Text.htm. The file is correctly used as the HTML body but then if I
attempt to show the mail to the user with Groupwise tokens all of the
address fields (To, CC, BC) are reset???!!!
2) If I create the whole mail using Tokens there is no way to Set the
HTML body. If I attach the Text.Htm file then it is not treated as the
HTML body, it is just shown as a normal attachment!!!
3) If I use MAPI the TEXT.htm file is not treated as the HTML body and
there is no way to set the HTML text via the MAPI Api.
I just want to create a HTML formatted EMail from code... So far I have
had to use 3 different API's and I am still no further forward.

Thanks for your respone, don't worry on the spelling I am exactly the
same. Many times I have sent a post only to read it back wincing...
I notice that the 2 posts have re-appeared, bizarre.
With regard to your suggestion, can you elaborate?
In case 1, where I can get the HTML attached to the mail whenever I use
Groupwise tokens to show the mail for editing it resets all of the address
fields. Even if I manually fill these in it looses the HTML attachment. If
I re-attach it using tokens it is treated just as a normal attachment (IE
is not used as the HTML body). So basically I am stuck at this point. Are
you suggesting that I write or use another HTML/EMail editor external to
Groupwise and then just use Groupwise to send the Email?
I must say that I would have thought that this was a pretty common
requirement. Has no one at Novell on anywhere else done this before using
Groupwise?

JEditorPane problem with showing html file

Hey,
I have a JEditorPane in which I would like to show a HTML file that is stored in the same directory (local, not from the web).
       String url = "index.html";
        try
            JEditorPane htmlPane = new JEditorPane(url);
            htmlPane.setEditable(false);
            frame.add(new JScrollPane(htmlPane));
        catch(IOException ioe)
            System.err.println("Error displaying " + url);
        } It should also work once the whole program is "packaged" into a .jar file.
With the code above I cant get the index.html file to be displayed in the htmlPane.
Any suggestions?

The JEditorPane has a method called setPage that loads a URL into the pane, you can always transform internal jar locations to URLs using e.g. CurrentObject.class.getResource("/internal/jar/location/text.html")

Showing html content in xml

Hi!
I really cannot find any answers to my question.
I'm using the spry framework for outputting a table, from a source xml. In some records the xml holds HTML elements like links and line breaks. I want these element to show up on the table created by the spry.
If I simply want to output the table leaving the HTML tags in the xml, it simply doesn't load.
If I use CDATA, for storing HTML content, js changes the < and > to &lg; and > so links doesn't work.
Do you have any suggestions about this? What should I do?

You probably did not set the correct columntype for your data: setColumnType

Showing HTML content in jspx page

Hi,
We have stored text/html email messages in database and we want to display this on our page.
I tried with af:richTextEditor its not showing actual space & font. Few extra line breaks are added.
I tried af:outputText with escape=false it looks perfect. But all the menu items, command links, tab header label are started showing underlines and the UI looks odd. When I check the documentation it says
"In addition, nearly all attributes are ignored when "escape" is set to false"
I believe this is the reason the UI is showing odd.
All I need is just to show a html content inside a panelGroupLayout. Any suggestions?

here's what I think works best:
1. add an ADF Faces inlineFrame component to the page
2. Have the inlineFrame source property pointing to a servlet that reads and streams the HTML from the database as an HTML document

Date picker field shows html code?

I have a HTMLDB 2.0 app that I have ported to APEX 3.1. I have one field that is a date picker field which has a before regions computation on it that calculates an expiration date. For some reason, the text area shows the HTML code of the page, not the calculated date. No idea why. Anyone? TIA

Show HTML page on initial SAP Screen

Hi all,
I know how to change the image on the initial screen by maintain table SSM_CUST and upload *.gif with tcode SMW0.
In SMW0 there is another part about HTML templates. I have uploaded an HTML page but I was not able to see this on the initial screen.
Any way to do this or we can only show images on the initial screen ?
